A very welcoming host, very good coffee and the menu is full of delicious choices, we enjoyed the Tuna sandwich and the danish pastry.

Fantastic bakery. We come here every few days for their bread: freshly made, with high quality flour, free from preservatives and additives. Highly recommended!

Oh well, what can I say. What a place! Such a little gem. We visited Knowle on our way home from a national trust house. Feeling pretty peckish we found this little gem. The huge meringues in the window drew us in and then we realised there was a restaurant at the back. We were quickly approached and seated. Our waitress was lovely. After struggling to decide which course to choose (the menu offers so many delicious options)I went for the aubergine parmigiana. OH MY GOODNESS. This has to be one of the best meals I’ve eaten in my life. So simple and served with delicious bread, it was divine and so flavoursome. My partners lasagne was gorgeous too. Hats off to the chef! The cakes and treats in the shop were beautiful too. Such an authentic place, with a lovely vibe and feel. Very busy so a popular haunt I think! We may have taken dessert away with us! Thanks for a memorable visit.

Always busy (which is a good sign) lots of lovely quiches, croissants, a variety of light meals. My kids love the gingerbread men from here. Often come with friends for a quick bite to eat. Lovely coffee too! Love we have a bit of France/Italy on our doorstep.

This is quite a place. Lovely bread, cheese and food items in the shop and nice food and cakes in the cafe. It almost feels like being abroad. A little taste of Italy.

Lovely Deli shop, owned by a charming Frenchman by the name of Gilles. Food there is fabulous, great light meals, and proper beautiful French Tartes... Highly recommend, very pleasant atmosphere, just on Knowle High Street, Solihull. ❤️🤍💙

Visit every time I’m visiting family, the bread collection is just so good, the cakes are just amazing and plenty to choose from. I would always recommend this lovely little french Artisan bakery in Knowle.

This place fancies itself and clearly has an excellent pastry and bread cook. I ordered a latte and an almond croissant. The latte was the size of a flat white with all the strength of a child's babychino. I couldn't taste the coffee at all and so had to ask to add another shot to it. This has happened on a handful of occasions in the last 10 years. I have never been charged for the extra shot needed to make a coffee palpable before.... other establishments don't punish their customers for their crap coffee. We all know it costs about 10p and selling coffee is the easiest way a cafe can make money. When I came to pay the bill (by going to the till) there was an embarrassing scene that unfolded where I was clearly not trusted to say what Id had (even though the elderly couple in front of me were). The owner stood over the waitress taking payment and bullied her whilst she flustered because my table didn't have a number on it and the waitress had got my bill wrong. I was ignored even when I added the omitted almond croissant to my bill. How much for a very small latte and an almond croissant??........ £9! Yes £9. This would be cheaper in a world class hotel in Mayfair. The bill was thrust at me with zero acknowledgement. Im glad I don't live locally as I would boycott this place on principle.

Nice cafe/bistro Lunch options v nice but portions a little small, tiny quiche and side salad for over £7, pastries delicious tho, great selection of bread, waitress v friendly but the manager was rather rude and bossy to his staff ! Not nice to witness and unacceptable

Never open and always out of bread

It's very good for freshly baked bread and cheese and cold meats, better than supermarkets,but you have to be quick because it goes very quickly, well worth a visit!

We ordered a pizza last night and was due to pick it up the next evening. Not only did we have to wait for an hour in the cold but the owner was also verbally abusive to my mum and telling us we are never welcome in his bakery ever again just because we asked how much longer it would take. A real shame that such a lovely village is ruined by nasty people. Go there at your own risk

Came here once thought it was fabulous, moving to knowle anytime soon and we will be using this place more often.

Bought (on Saturday) some Croissants for Sunday morning by which point they had all gone hard...so very bland and not very tasty!!!Also bought a slice of fruit flan..which was wet and soggy in parts of the sliceBought a apple cake/muffin...what a bad choice...cake was tasteless and extremely dry...just a tiny blob of apple sauce on the top.Very disappointing and over priced for the poor quality of cakes etc

Good coffee and tasty food. There is a good variety of pastrie, food and drink choices, the ingredients are fresh and of a good quality. The bistrot has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and smiley.

Expecting nothing more than a quick spot of lunch in a nice cafe, the atmosphere immediately drew me in to unwind, relax, and enjoy. The idea of a sandwich soon gave way to Bistro style pizza, pudding and a cheeky glass of wine before an espresso to perk me up for an afternoon of work. I found the host and owner to be absolutely charming, completely attentive ... frankly I have rarely seen such admirable attention to detail in the UK and the clear pride he takes in running his business is certainly admirable. I found his staff to be equally capable and thriving in the environment created for them. The visibility of the kitchen allows patrons to enjoy the artistry of the chefs who clearly love creating the authentic, fresh food. It was entirely delicious. I have no doubt I'll visit again. If I would suggest an area that could be improved, it would perhaps be to open up the wine menu available by the glass - especially at lunchtime. The wine I had with my meal wasn't bad, but there would have been better partners to the fabulous food I enjoyed. I recommend to all, and I will certainly be back

Stopped in here on a Friday night with no reservation, there was no space and we were asked to pop back in 45mins and they would make space which was great.So happy I waited for a table, this is probably the best pizza I have eaten, freshly made dough and you could watch them being cooked in the pizza oven. The base was really nice and crispy and with a generous amount of toppings. I can’t wait to go back!

Picked this bistro for lunch and we were not disappointed! Amazing Ciabatta sandwich with chicken mayo, avocado and bacon filling, one of the best sandwiches we’ve eaten in a long time. Good coffee too. Excellent attentive staff-look forward to returning and trying the pizza’s.

Called in here with so saturday afternoon. It was very busy and had a good atmosphere. Young waiter came over to take order of drinks. Fine, except he had to ask three times same question again then he brought coke instead of diet coke. Ordered food, ok but then antipasta arrived just as a bag of bread was placed on the end of the table (which we took to be our ordered bread) it was cut and thrown into a brown bag, not what I expected. Had to remind him twice we ordered olives with bread, then the penny dropped that was in the brown bag. Where is a bread basket at least? Ordered lasagne which came before plates were collected. Given new cutlery at our request. Lasagne came piping hot but by time we had new cutlery it was already going cool and became quite cold before it was finished. Overall my comment is great tasting food but more staff needed in prep and kitchen area on busy days like today. Chef was lovely and does an amazing job but he definitely needs more help and young waiters need a bit more about them.

Feels, looks and tastes like home. I totally disagree with all negative comments. This is fabulous place and James with his positive attitude welcomed as at door and showed us table. Food he recommended was really delicious. He came back to check if everything was ok and if we needed anything, Really nice server and very friendly

Had a great time at the Greek Evening where we tried some interesting wines and had a wonderful stifado and mousakka dish. Great value as always and lovely atmosphere. Looking forward to the next one.

Probably the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. We asked two very simple questions. First we asked could we have our coffees brought out at the same time as our food, we were told "no this is impossible","you have to order drinks now". Secondly we asked could we have crispy bacon in our bacon and brie sandwhich's, again we were told "no this is not possible" and "it's hard to tell how the bacon will come out". Both answers were delivered in a manner insinuating we were causing a fuss. I didn't realise that It was difficult to make and serve coffee just as the food was coming out and that making bacon crispy was a physical impossibility. It sounds pathetic to complain about this but the middle aged Italian man clearly could not be bothered with us, he was a little bit rude, and made simple questions into an awkward uncomfortable experience. We also heard the owner from our table telling the middle aged italian man he wasnt bothered about bad reviews as "you cant please them all". Overall it wasn't worth the effort just for an over priced bacon and brie sandwhich. I would suggest that the owner have a word with this italian server because customer service does matter, we wont be eating here again.

Very talented local bistro. Been here couple times now and always had hot and tasty food. Sometimes we have dinner here sometimes just a quick snack. Lovely staff and good price.

Recently visited as it was recommended by my friend. As soon you walk in you can feel freshly made bread and cakes. Food is made in the house you can clearly see it. James who helped us to chose was amazing. Absolutely delicious food. I will be coming back here.

Stopped by for some snacks. Some of the cakes looked amazing. We got some pastries and some sausage rolls, but they weren't as good as i was hoping for. Maybe if they were hot it would have been better.

Visited this little gem recently. Was absolutely amazed by selection of patisserie available. Bought only a small selection, as yes, it is a bit pricey. Loved the strawberry and vanilla mouse cup, best éclair I had in a while...tart citron, fruit tarts are divine. Definitely talented chef in the kitchen! which you can actually see in "action" behind.

I visited for a jazz night over Christmas. I enjoyed the jazz although the vocals took the volume up a notch too high. Instrumental only would have been better in my view. Apart from the starter the food was very good. I had the vege mezze board to start which was basic and bland. The vegetables lacked flavour - Zizzi of all places do a much better job on that front! In contrast the pizza and carrot cake were spot on. The crust on the pizza was soft (just how I like it) and the carrot cake was very morish.

Overpriced cakes and pastries. Pecan and maple plait had no taste at all and the price warranted it to be the best I'd ever had. Banana and caramel cake tasted synthetic, had my friend try some to make sure it wasn't me, he also said it was disgusting. Lovely polite young lady behind the till but the way the manager spoke to her was embarrassing and I feel sorry for any employee of his. Style over substance and for those who ask did I take the products back and complain? Unfortunately I had driven 15 miles before I had the unfortunate displeasure of eating (or attempting to eat as the banana cake went in the bin after 2 bites) said cakes/pastries. Save your money is our advice.

Nothing "Artisan" about the bread and cakes I bought today - dry, tasteless and over priced. Everything looked great but sadly didn't taste anything like it.

Gorgeous little Artisan Bakery with plenty of breads, cakes, party foods to choose from. Always visit when we are that way for a coffee and cherry almond bake well slice which is by the way absolutely amazing. Well worth a visit very highly recommended.

We went to bread collection again recently and there was a new chef, we booked on the web for seats at the counter and requested the corner. Everything was delivered and the welcome by the manager was excellent as always. between 3 of us we ordered pizzas and meat balls and the quality was superb. Even better was being able to watch the chef cooking food for a full house. It was incredible and we don't know how he did it for so many and delivered such a fantastic quality. The manager and staff are excellent and the service great. as always we will be back again.

Amazing pizza and service. We went back the next day for some croissants which were just as delicious. A very small menu with focus on great ingredients. Its so nice to eat a lovely fresh pizza!!

Since moving to the area we now visit here regularly, it is a good place to take family and friends alike. The pizzas are great and the cakes are something else altogether. It also has a good selection of wines. In the face of so many chains in nearby solihull this is a break from the norm and well worth a visit.

Wonderful bakery and restaurant in beautiful Knowle and they bake the most tasty bread and cakes

Visiyed recently as we had been away for some time and had not been for a coule of months. had seats at the counter and observed the new chef working harder than we had ever seen before and delivering fantastic food. The manager is so welcoming as is the lady that works on the starters. Some of the staff we had never seen before and they delivered excellent service, as always we will go back whenever we can.

Today my friend and I popped in for lunch at 12.30pm. We were told that they were busy but if we came back in half an hour they would keep a table for us. My friend gave her name & we went out to get a drink. We returned at 1pm & made our way to the counter where a woman was serving. We were ignored. When my friend eventually got the woman's attention she said "we don't take bookings & that's just the way it is!" My friend tried to explain that we'd been told a table would be reserved for us but then a man (I assume the Manager) came over & said the same. My friend tried to explain what we'd been told, at which point, the manager came up with some fabricated story about my friend having been in & complained before, which is completely untrue. He then demanded we leave. We have never been treated in such a menacing, bullying fashion before. It was completely unjustified & extreme. We have no idea what brought this over reaction about but quite frankly we would question his suitability to run a business for the general public as he obviously has no people skills! An apology would be nice but I suspect he doesn't understand the concept! Won't be repeating the error of visiting again.

Having recently moved to the area I feel like keeping this place to myself as its a gem but feel it’s only fair to give an honest review. The bread and cakes at the bakery are simply amazing. The quality and freshness are just perfect. Not the cheapest but well worth the price. The staff are all very polite and friendly. Have also been to Spiga bistro at the back on an evening and again the food was outstanding and very good value. Service was excellent. . A bit surprised about the comments on management as I’ve always found the manager to be very pleasant.

Beautiful food and a wonderful homey atmosphere. We lunched here today, we had a Pizza Diavolo and a Beef and Onion Panini, and soft drinks. The service was impeccable, the waiter who helped us couldn't have been more helpful. We also bought some bits and bobs from the shop, including one of their delicious homemade quiches - this bistro is worth travelling miles for, both sweet and savory food from the huge meringues to the homemade breas are absolutely top knotch. Don't visit Knowle without popping in.

Excellent Italian style Pizza and Antipasto. All ingredients are top quality and the patisserie is even better! The service has always been exceptional and the owner was very friendly and accommodating. Everything I've tried has been delicious and I'll keep coming back for more :)

This bakery in the centre of Knowle Village is also a coffee shop and a bistro. It is much larger than it looks from the front. There is a very good range of bread, cakes and pastries. We called in for coffee early one Tuesday morning. There is pleasant table service and the quality of the coffee is very good. Well worth a visit if you're in the village.

Dropped off the m42 at junction 3 to avoid a jam and find lunch. Stopped in knowle cheap car parking. Had a wander there is lots of choice but were drawn into the Bread Collection lovely displays of Artsan breads and lovely cakes. We had a beef and onion melt it was lovely, nice salad garnish. We could see everything being made the sandwiches looked amazing. This place is obviously popular with the locals as the staff knew people. 10 minutes back to the motorway at jubction5. We have marked this on the map now as we do this journey regularly. Oh and we bought cakes for tea too !

The shop window display caught my eye so i popped in. The huge meranges were the first thing to amaze me! Then each thing i seen was just so beautiful, handmade, gorgeous and so i stood and looked fir so long. The lovely ladies helped me and shown me to the cafe area where there was items being made to order. The guy explained to me about the pizza area and which nights were pizza nights, using authentic flour and ingredients from Italy. Which is amazing in its self. Each area was clean, rustic, prepared, welcoming. I brought a ham and cheese sandwich which was huge! Luch, moorish and so delisious. It put my usual food to shame. I should of shared it, oh well. I plan to try each dessert and most of the savoury items too. Its would be a perfect party food as you can choose items and have them boxed. I can not wait to book a table for pizza with my boy! So many things to buy, so much quality food and a touch of luxury. Perfect treat on a random Wednesday. You guys made my day!

Excellent variety of breads. Deli is amazing. We wanted some focacia bread and they had sold out. An assistant said we could phone the day before and they would put one aside for us next time. Amazing service. We will be looking to eat there very soon to.

We visited here during the bank holiday for a coffee and piece of cake. It’s a lovely little place to go and the staff are very attentive and polite. It’s a shame the manager does not have the same manners, he is pleasant enough to customers but unfortunately talks to his staff like dirt. I don’t know how they can work for such a person I think he thinks that if he’s not talking to you then you can’t hear. He needs to remember that you need your team to want to work for and respect you as a manager and that cannot be the case here.

We had this place to ourselves for a small hen lunch. Great service from the minute you walk in. Lovely place - made you feel welcomed , friendly and relaxed. Perfect for our ocasion where we had little ones running around at times. It felt so relaxing and professional at all times. Credit to all staff working that day. :) 👌
