Ask Italian in Horsham

Went here in February for a surprise party. There were about 12 of us so they put us upstairs. It was really bright and when we asked about lowering the lights a bit we were told no. You’d need sunglasses on it was so bright which didn’t create a nice atmosphere or setting for the meal. The food was lovely and the wine was good too so no complaints there. The lady who looked after was efficient but could’ve been a bit friendlier, couldn’t quite make her out. There was a large service charge on the bill, I don’t like service charges as if you’re not happy with the evening you still have to pay the whole thing. All in all we’d a nice night but I don’t think I’d return to this restaurant again, certainly not upstairs anyways.

Great experience and highly recommend. From the outset the service was exemplary, so friendly and welcoming. The food was as usual top notch with plenty of choices. The ambience was perfect too.

Went at 5pm for daughters 4th birthday. Not many other people in there. Service was quick. Food came out quick and was tasty. Would recommend with little kids.

Stopped by here at the end of the day. Shocked at how BIG the place is, but found a nice spot near the bar to have a coffee and cake. Nice people, and AMAZING good coffee (nice surprise)

We went here for lunch on New Year's Day, but have been before. We were a party of 7, including a vegan and 2 vegetarians. Everyone seems to have enjoyed their starter, mains and drinks. We didn't have dessert. The staff serving us were very nice. This restaurant is often busy, which is a good sign, so make sure you book ahead. We would visit again.

arrived for lunch at 1400, ignored by the staff for 10 minutes and left to go elsewhere. Plenty of restaurants in West St around the corner who welcome you warmly and don’t keep you waiting. Wont be going to Ask Horsham in the near future.

Loved the food, service was brilliant

Just taken 35 volunteers from Cancer Research Uk for our belated Christmas do. Olivia hosted us all evening and was excellent. The food was very good and we were looked after well.

Lovely friendly staff, fast service, nice busy atmosphere. We had a pizza to share, a coffee and a peroni, bill was £21.50 good value, great service.

We went for a lunch with the girls and i just want to say how amazing the staff are! Great service,chefs working extremely hard and still up to a greatest standard which is hard to find nowadays! Visited on a Saturday lunch time with 2 toddlers. Staff were fantastic and interacted with the kids perfectly, along with ensuring they had activities and food to keep them occupied. Couldn’t fault the service or food.

After a not so enjoyable visit to Zizi we were pleasantly surprised by Ask! Customer service was SO much better! Food was great and my kids enjoyed the visit which is always makes me happy.

We booked a lunch for myself and my family prior to attending a panto. I've had a series of disappointing meals out recently so wasnt hopeful. But this, even though this is possibly a franchise I'm not sure, was absolutely superb from start to finish! We were quickly shown to our table, lovely food beautifully prepared, excellent service too. Definitely on my go to list from now on. Thank you ASK. At last a chef who can cook!!

Packed out at lunchtime but staff attentive & polite. Excellent choice of menu including Christmas choices. Desserts very tasty. Made our catch up with friends a great experience. Only grumble - could do with heated plates as were stone cold so food cooled quicker.

Just had dinner there tonight and paid by Tesco vouchers .That was the stupidest thing as I gave the waiter my phone to get the code from them .I know I had 3 vouchers £30 ,£1..30 &£9.00 .When we got back to our hotel .I checked my vouchers and £9.00 and gone .Checked my receipt,the bill £34.55 and he took all the vouchers .To say I am angry is an understatement.and we paid £3.20 for drinks .All he had to do was ask and we would have paid more money and not loose the £9.00

We had a super meal there last night and we each had a main and dessert choice which we hadn't had before as the menu had been changed and it was delicious.

We was been served by a Italian lady with good knowledge about food. She suggested “Bianco Salento”wine and I trusted even if I never heard that name. Amazing!! From the starters to the main,we followed her suggestions and she win!! Excellent service and good food for a big chain.

Nice place for a great Italian diner

Orderered fetuccini bolognese, It tasted absolutely fowl ive had ready meal spaghetti that is nicer Service wise we had to chase for attention rather than being checked up on When we were finished i still had a full plate and they just took it away without asking if anything was wrong, Upon paying which was through an app It forces a tip charge which did not feel justified given the experience. When i tried to get attention to say my food was not nice they just kept walking past almost feels like they are ignoring you, very dissapointed The only reason ive given the food a 2 star is because my partners food was okay. Would not reccomend eating here Ive been to rome for italian And to call it authentic italian is a laughing stock.

Great Vegan options and really good attentive service. The restaurant looks fresh and inviting and is housed in a building with loads of local history attached to it.

Classic Ask restaurant. Love their food, good drinks,LOVE their desserts and the staff is superb. They r the ones that make difference and Horsham team is just amazing❤️

The place is top notch! You'll get the true feelings of Italian food

Got a delivery. Food was at best warm, although some was actually cold. That is the items that were correct. They weren't interested when I called about the wrong item and I had to call deliveroo myself. I got the money refunded for the wrong item, but not the delivery charge and I am left with no dinner. Also the pappardelle is more like lasagne. Just thrown into a pot. Awful handing of food. If I had been in the restaurant I would have sent it back - but this really isn't making me want to go in there anyway if it is a representation of what they think about customers.

FABULOUS AS ALWAYS! My birthday celebration with 6 friends. We were booked for only 6 but the Manager accepted another 2 of us readily. Menus and complimentary lemonade arrived immediately. I had my favourite starter, mushrooms, my husband had prawns, all dishes lovely. My main, best carbonara ever. Drinks arrived promptly, lovely chilli oil on table…. All in all, excellent service, food, ambience. My favourite restaurant in Horsham. Be proud! ❤️❤️❤️XXXX

Food is always good but service is slow

Visited lunch time without a booking and the rest was extremely busy. The manager was really helpful and accommodating and found me and my two young sons a table quickly. The food came out fast and hot and was really fresh and tasty. The waitress really engaged with us and made us feel comfortable. The manager came over to check on us a few times and made sure the children were happy. It was lovely to see all the staff happy at work and the place was buzzing with a great atmosphere of people enjoying their lunch. This branch is obviously run very well and we will definitely be returning to visit again soon

We love going to Ask Italian with our young family, the waiters and waitresses are always so friendly and welcoming. And the children are made very much at home (colouring mats and pencils and nibbles all provided to keep them occupied) by the end of the meal our kids were wanting to play with the staff (they're that much fun and smiley). Knowing how often families with young kids are seen as a bit of a nuisance, and you often you find out when the menu doesn't cater for them. It's just so nice to visit a place where kids are recognised as part of the family, there are multiple meal options available in kids portions, and if you're sharing a meal with a tiny tot then they automatically bring you extra crockery.... Oh and did I say the kids love it too! All in all a great big gold star 🌟 to the staff at Ask Italian from me!

Came for Father’s Day. Average food at best. We wern’t made aware of items not on menu until we came to order and had to rethink on the spot. Unhappy sister and mother. When we came to pay we had some vouchers to use which we were told we couldn’t because they weren’t accepting them on Father’s Day. Were we made aware before the meal? NOPE. Good job we had money because other people may not have. Disgraceful really considering our vouchers we redeemed for today might run out before we get back there. Money grabbers. No tip from us. Not going again

I had a pretty amazing lunch here. Everything was fine, and the staffs and chefs there were amiable. They also offer Vegan/Gluten-free meals which are great😌. So, what I ordered was a tomato spaghetti pasta with mozzarella on top (You may choose the vegan version, which does not have the mozzarella on top), it was pretty tasty and I chose for a simple meal there, therefore, I only ordered tap water for my meal. 💦 ~ (Ps: server will ask you if you want some extra cheese or not on the pasta) Of course, there were various different kinds of starters you may choose, and they serve pizza as well😆. Server would gently ask you if you fancy some desserts or not. There were tiramisù, my personal favourite ❤️, but I did not have that today. Overall I would say it’s a good place to have your meal 🥘 😶‍🌫️. Coziness: 9/10 Taste: 8.5/10 Speed of serving foods: 8/10 Kindness: 10/10 😆

Took 40 mins after sitting to be asked what drinks we would like. Then food took another half an hour The portion my OH had was disappointingly tiny. Mine was good though. Pudding was great. They need more waiters/resses.

Honestly couldn’t off asked for better service. We went with my nearly 3 year old granddaughter and as soon as we had sat down the lovely lady with the blonde hair had brought her over bread, carrot and cucumber sticks, crayons and paper to keep her occupied for a little while. Lovely fast delicious food, excellent service (staff made our lunch lovely) my granddaughter is obsessed with ice and a large glass of it was soon on our table. Had a lovely relaxing lunch with family and friends and a nearly 3 year old, a rare occurrence, all down to the service, thank you so much 😘

This will be approximately our 150th visit to Ask in Horsham. We love it there. This particular visit was a Saturday late lunchtime with the family including two little people. It went really smoothly and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. Dessert was a hit for everyone apart from the lava dome chocolate fondant I ordered, which didn't melt with the sauce and didn't provide the drama we expected. Staff were attentive and we didn't have to wait very long for any part of our trip. The restaurant was quiet as we were in between the lunch and dinner rush but that was ideal for the children. Will definitely visit again, but order a different dessert.

We were told we couldn't use our tesco vouchers because it was mother's day. At no point, from booking the table online, to arriving and ordering did they mention that tesco vouchers were not valid that day. What if we couldn't afford the full price, hence the vouchers!? Sadly, we didn't tip the lovely waitress as we didn't budget to pay full price!

Lovely plate received from chef Rikesh. Oksana the waitress was friendly and professional. From a big company,the food is really good and all the staff are polite and efficient. Really impressed.

I've always left a 5 star review, however, there is a menu change which means their low fat seafood linguini is no longer low fat which means there's not a lot on offer if you have a fat intolerance like me. Sad, it was always a reliable place to eat and as such got regular business from us. We'll be eating elsewhere. Staff, as always, lovely.

We had a nice dinner today at Ask Italian in Horsham. It was my first time there, the service was great, lovely people, always ready to help & to give suggestions. In particular we want to thank Michalina (hope I got the name correctly) who came few times to check if everything was ok, and she had a nice chat with our 3 years-old daughter. The nice and warm atmosfere at Ask Italian reminded me about small local restaurants in Italy, a country I know pretty well as used to live there for 20+ years! Grazie, è bello sentirsi un po’ a casa :)

Popped in without a booking on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Despite being busy the staff seated us very quickly. The kids menu was really good value and food my son will always eat so it's very easy. The kids portions are super generous. My meal was also a good size and really tasty. The service was fantastic even though they were clearly rushed off their feet. We really appreciated it given we didn't pre book.

Popped into ask Horsham with my partner for a bowl of quick simple pasta, I'm a chef and I'm not usually a fan of chain restaurants as it's mostly reheat and not a huge amount of skill in the cooking but you'd at least expect the freshly cooked pasta to not be over in an Italian😬 it was breaking apart no bite whatsoever. My partner used to work in ask for a few years and I often used to pop in end of my shift for a plate as you knew what you where getting, nothing flash but we'll cooked pasta. Sadly all the old chefs have left now and I'm very doubtfull if the guys in there now are actually chefs at all, I mean for anyone to let overcooked pasta get into the tubs for service baffles me. Lack of care and sloppiness big time, I'm surprised that no one else has reviewed it accordingly as I would say it's easily 50% worse than when the old chefs where there. Someone should be quality controling things like this Ask!!!!!! Big shame.

The manager was so lovely, he took really good care of us and the food was absolutely amazing!! I had the purple pesto pasta and my parents had their prima pizzas and would definitely recommend! Been going there for absolute years😊

Great place to go for Lunch with Friends

Went in ask Italian with 2 of my mates I ordered pizza but I couldn’t say it was a pizza it was all burnt and tasted rubbish and the guy put pork in my pizza I told him not to because I don’t eat look won’t advise anyone going there bad service bad food

I've been to Ask a number of times over the years & I've always thought the service & food to be good. However when I popped in for an early dinner with my daughter last Saturday they were fully booked but managed to squeeze me in. I was very grateful & was served with the expected high level of food & service.... Thank you 😁👍

Good food, clean, tidy. Pleasant atmosphere. The service was good, warm and friendly. It was not intrusive.

Booked for 11 people 2pm Sunday 15th January, got confirmation on line yet when we arrived they said they had no booking and no table. It was a birthday celebration and some came from London and one had permission to come out of boarding school for his mother’s birthday. We ranged from 77 Down to 8. Still have the confirmation on line! Have complained to Head office, no response. Obviously don’t need our custom and nor will they get it.

Best restaurant in Horsham by a mile. Especially considering, service , food and value for money. Also with an amazing kids friendly atmosphere. I’d highly recommend it.

Last visit was not as good as the standard we normally get, it was the 23rd December so service was awfully slow, the team less able to keep attention away from the larger groups. Food was good as always and staff relatively pleasant. I’ll go again when it’s more quiet.

Went to Horsham and decided to try ASK Italian for lunch we were not disappointed with our choice. All courses proved enjoyable with good service and ambience. Plus a glass of Merlot and Prosecco Rose.

Pizza was very tasty but quickly went cold on the marble serving platter. Puddings (orange tart and chestnut profiterole) were both overly sweet. Service was prompt and friendly and our waiter was very happy to accept Tesco vouchers

We have eaten here many times in the past and always had good service and great food, but today the staff at Ask went above and beyond when my friend was taken ill in the restaurant. They were so kind and attentive and couldn’t have...

We arrived on Saturday evening at 6pm. We hadn't booked , so were grateful when the waiter managed to fit us in. We were taken upstairs to a very bright room with the atmosphere of a children's party at the bowling alley. We were the only couple there and were squeezed into a table for two by the stairs. The waitress came promptly and We ordered Olives to start and two Manzo Piccante al forno. When the Olives were finally brought the meal came too, so we didn't really want to eat them. The meal was gorgeous to be fair but the service and atmosphere was very sadly lacking.

Didn't get my promised unpeeled prawn on top.
