The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

We visited Bella italia riverside as a date night as oppose to going to red lion street. We didn’t pre book but we were swiftly seated. It then took around 10-15 minutes to even get a drinks order and by this time we ordered our food too. Drinks orders should be taken 1-2 minutes after seated. Our starters arrived very quickly and the garlic dough balls were delicious. Soon after our mains arrived and our starter plates have not been cleared. We ate our mains and after finishing we waited 20 minutes before I decided to order dessert via the app. Meanwhile the front of house staff was chatting to an individual table whilst others were ignored. Multiple tables were in need of clearing or ordering. Our desserts arrived and the runner cleared our main plates. The runner was very friendly and polite and was more than happy to help. Running drinks and food and cleaning tables in between this boy was fantastic. The service was very poor and I was disappointed in our dining experience. Much prefer red lion street staff much more efficient!

Earlier in the day we'd visited the Tate in Margate. We'd been chatting to one of the guides there and she suggested we go to Broadstairs "and you must go to Morelli's" We did. Brilliant place. Superb ice cream. Highly recommended

Comida bien, pero nada especial, precios caros, atención por parte del personal aceptable, en general no volveremos ya que el colmo en un sobreprecio para el lugar de calidad era tratar de colarse en 12 . ¡5 % de cargo por servicio! No recomendado

Visité este restaurante como una familia de 8 por el cumpleaños de mi hijo. Estábamos sentados enseguida a la llegada. El ambiente era muy relajante y acogedor. El personal era muy acogedor y no podía hacer lo suficiente para usted. La comida era fantástica y sin duda volvería a visitar este restaurante. Chicos bien hechos siguen el buen trabajo

Gorgeous food, would definitely recommend. We walked in at about 6pm but it got very busy afterwards so book if you’re planning on going any later

Friendly and super-efficient service, even for our (pre-booked) group of 50! Food was amazing - fresh, delicious, and hearty. Portions just right: generous but not overwhelming. Highly recommended, wish I lived nearer so I could eat there regularly.

Well in regards to the food not a lots of positives I could say I has meat ball my husband pizza and my son kids pizza ask for a large kids came is was so small it could not be large my meatballs where cold all of them my husband pizza was soggy and he could not eat it all. So I can not say we would return to this restaurant

Le service était très agréable et rapide, nous remercions nos serveurs. Cependant, la qualité n’était pas au rendez-vous ! La « viande de bœuf » décrite sur la carte et composant le burger n’est pas de la viande. C’est un espèce de composition immangeable et dont l’origine reste incertaine. Très déçus, nous mettons deux étoiles pour le service mais sinon, nous déconseillons ce restaurant.

We had a fantastic pre-theatre supper tonight at Mele e Pere. Lovely warm welcome when we arrived, wonderful ambience and delicious food. Pre-theatre menu had great choices including steak and sea bream, all for £17.50 per person. Will definitely be back!

Entró en el día de boxeo, no hay que esperar a una mesa, el servicio fue rápido y amable, la comida no tomó tiempo en absoluto muy sabroso todo el mundo disfrutó, fantástico servicio de Kim y Sophia, muy recomendable!

Stay home. Buy some ingredients and make your own meal. The food is nothing special and you come home and having to eat something else

Domenico was an amazing waiter and bartender! Not only was he incredibly attentive and professional, but he also made our experience so much fun with his great sense of humor. He gave excellent recommendations and really went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic time. Highly recommend asking for him—you won’t be disappointed!

Yes we know that it’s Mother’s Day so why it it that the management here seem incapable of managing? Our family group arrived on time to be advised of items that had sold out on the menu. Starters arrived in good time but main course arrived 2 hours after we first sat down!!. We had to ask for drink top ups from waitress who was just standing around and was making NO effort to engage with us ( also being told then that several of our requested drinks had also now been sold out). As a family we laughed off this pathetic service at a restaurant we have used many times in the past. Will continue to tell friends not to visit this restaurant which has obviously lost the plot. We will certainly take it off our list .
