Bella Italia Castleford in Wakefield

Very poor quality food. Pasta well overdone and a soapy mess of a sauce. No time to say what was wrong as server brought food over then 10 seconds leather walked past asking if everything was alright. They then vanish for whole meal to turn up and take plates saying “please leave a good review it keeps my manager off my back”. Shame as not ally enjoy Bella but after this I won’t be returning. Freinds food was duck pasta with two bits of duck and mushy pasta.

Me and a few friends came to this restaurant and was served by Rowan he was very rude and unhelpful we asked what drinks they did and was told to look in the menu and we was waiting for ages for the food and when we asked for the bill he still didn’t bring that for nearly 20 minutes and when he did and we asked to split the bill he said he didn’t want to and wanted us to work it out for him Would not recommended at all once we payed he checked the receipts at us and didn’t say good bye So rude don’t recommend

Food was delicious. Service was a bit slow due to a large party being in but we were warned about that on arrival. One item ordered was not available. Otherwise all ok.

We came to visit today a group of us celebrating our friends birthday. we all had a special educational needs and our Waitress ‘Lily” was absolutely amazing and so patient :) !

Local to where we live ,visited today family of 8, arrived at 4 pm and our friendly server looked after us all really well I think her name was Stacey . Very friendly with our 2 little 1s and had little jokes with them. We all enjoyed our meals although I do feel the lasagne was a small portion for the price maybe serve with garlic bread? Kids eat on the £1 deal which was very nice all in all a pleasant family get together in nice surroundings.

I came here with my mother and grandmother. My grandmother got a lasagna that she said was very nice, my mother got a HUGE chicken burger with sweet potato fries and asked for barbecue sauce and I got a chicken, Ham and mushroom pizza, I also asked if I could have barbecue sauce. Overall, the food was delicious, the experience was great and the tables were clean, an increasingly rarer thing in England.

Good caring staff but our food wasn't that good this time ! Been here before and no problems but this visit pizzas only had sauce around edges. Hardly any cheese on pizza so therefore toppings of pizzas just falling off as just plonked on top of base. AND grandaughters meal was RAW ! She had children's fish fingers !

Food was lovely, service was great and the prices are reasonable apart from the eye-watering price of nearly £10 for two large diet cokes. Kind of put a dampener of whether we would return or recommend.

Kindly accommodated a family of 13 last minute for dinner after skiing (Pizza Express across the way refused to move tables for us). Rowan was a fantastic waiter who made us feel at ease and well looked after; he dealt with the high maintenance demands of the children with a great sense of humour and very attentive service, thank you! Pastas were a big hit, garlic breads a bit too greasy/buttery, overall everyone enjoyed the food and experience. Recommend for families

Just had great service, lovely waiting staff attentive, personable and good sense of humour. Had the vegan meatballs and vegan pizza £20 set menu, really good value. Will definitely return. Thank you

After a hard day on the slopes, had execllent food, very good service by Stacey. Very attentive, hot food and very tasty, best one out of the chain we have been to.

Booked into another restaurant after a ski lesson and the service was terrible and left so we decided to try Bella Italia The food was great the service was great the waitress Tilly I believe was very professional and efficient hats off to her overall a great experience for a busy restaurant

Probably the best place in the Xscape to come to. Food was fresh and piping hot. Had bruschetta and dough balls to start with both beautiful and a nice size for a starter, not too big. For main we both had chicken Milanese, beautiful meal and will definitely have it again! Good service too. Will be back

BEREFT We were bereft of food and aimlessly wandering this West Yorkshire hellscape But where would we eat? Nando's? - Do we look like we're 12? TGI? - I didn't fancy overpriced disappointment Spoons? - I'm a Remain-voting lefty and know where I'm not wanted OBVIOUSLY the answer was Bella Itdlia. Were we warmly greeted? YES Were we politely seated? ABSOLUTELY Was our waiter Josh an incredible member of staff who made us feel welcomed and attended to? - MAKE THAT LAD CEO ALREADY The food was incredible, a sea bass so delectable I'm trying to legally marry it and a Brownie dessert so scrumptious it made Willy Wonka look like a charlatan It was a great time, I will only submit this review if you make Josh king or something HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Came here for an evening meal with my partner, our waitress Lilly was lovely, went above and beyond do make our time here exceptional. All the staff memebers I encountered were very polite and professional

Lovely restaurant and very pleased that they do a good vegetarian selection, even swapping the met feast pizza for a vegetarian alternative. Very impressed! Service was fast and very friendly! Thank you to Ciara who was amazing! Only downside is that the drinks are expensive. Otherwise wonderful and will be visiting again!

Lasagne was beautiful Really enjoyed the starters too. Very good service. Lovely lad Will be back soon xx

Took my wife out for a spontaneous evening out, fantastic member of staff in Stacey. Food was excellent

10 of us celebrating a special occasion. From discussing our requirements over the phone, to greeting us and serving us delicious food, Ciara and team did a fab job. We’ll be back again.

Brilliant food, Brillant service will come again! Stacey was great we absolutely loved the food specifically the calamari.

We were seated at our table quickly and was served by Polly who was very friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely as always and Polly made sure we had everything we needed with a big smile on her face! Would definitely recommend.

We visited this establishment on Thursday night and I can say we will definitely return was service by a friendly waitress tia pizzas were good and no hesitations about covid rules.

Last night my husband and I visited for our 30th anniversary we were greeted at the door by a lovely blonde girl who told us our waitress would be Samantha. The menu is easy to read and has lots of choice. Samantha was beyond helpful nothing was too much even down the pouring our drinks at the table so professional and was very easy to get along with. We had a 3 course meal and every course was perfect our plates were cleared promptly and we were offered more drinks at each clearing. Was our first time here but would return just to have Samantha serve us she made our night.

We visited for my daughters birthday our waitress Samantha was absolutely amazing she couldn’t of been more attentive or happy the smile was on her face from start to finish and the way she was with out children I believe she’s the best waitress we’ve ever had, the food was amazing tasted beautiful cwmr quickly and was piping hot will return

We visited yesterday 3 adults 5 children. On seating we mentioned we had a discount code, the waitress said ok, you can't order of the lunch menu due to having the the code and that was fine with us. Food took a long time to arrive, most was ok apart from 2 lasagna that had uncooked pasta throughout, it was 4 sheets of pasta just stuck together nothing in the middle with sauce on the top and around the edges. The manager at that point was apologetic etc. End of the meal we asked for the bill, so he came over to us with it and explained he took 15 pounds off the total for the lasagna. We said we had a discount code to use and he said we couldn't due to more than 6 people, ( didn't get told that off the waitress, she said we could) he didn't amend the amount either due to us not using the code we should of paid the lunchtime menu price for our meals as most of them were on that menu. The manager was very rude, not willing to help in regards of changing the bill and also rude to his staff. Will not be returning.

Visited Bella italia with my other half last Sunday our waitress Georgia was very kind and welcoming she recommended some dishes and was speedy in her service, as we couldn’t decide on what desserts to have she surprised us and brought out a cookie dough and a choc brownie which was superb!! Will be coming here again and recommending everyone to visit!

I advise everyone not to go to Bella Italia at Xscape Castleford. Absoloute . Food was burnt to a crisp and hardly anything there. Sat at mucky seats, dirty spoon still left there along with loads of food. Floor was covered in old food not even cleaned it up before they sat us down. Ran out of deserts so made differant choice and was nothing like picture

Would not recommend to anyone !! food was horrible no meat in lasagne, they offered to remake but we were on a time limit, shouldn’t need to remake if the standards were there in the first place , two of us ordered this meal and both were exactly the same no meat but plenty of pasta sheet (the cheap ingredients) !!

We visited last night, the food was beautiful and the service was second to none, especially Matthew, attentive and on the ball. Lovely lovely place

Came here today for Dinner and my friend and I each got the Pollo Fungi. We were welcomed by a waiter called Nathan and served by the waitresses Amelia and Alicia, very polite and lovely food. Will come again.

Lovely meal! We don't get to travel to Castleford as often as we like, we normally go for the snow boarding this time we decide to give bella Italia a try, our starters was lovely and the main course was even better our waitress chloe was spot on kept checking everything was alright making sure we had drinks which the Italia larger is definitely worth a try my girlfriend love it, was a nice ending to our day and will be visiting again the next time we are there!

MATT OUR WAITER WAS COURTEOUS AND EFFICIENT. our meal was fresh and very tasty and we really enjoyed it, the restaurant was fairly quiet and we took our time an date meal and dessert with a couple glasses of wine, couldtnt fault it

For what are pretty basic dishes the food is overpriced. Another family claimed they were our party and took our reserved table - not blaming BI for that but maybe a free drink or a discount would smooth the waters in this situation. We ordered ice cream for dessert and were sat watching it melt for at least 5 minutes before we were brought spoons. Underwhelming dining experience.

Came to Bella Italia for the first time tonight. 30 min wait for food but was worth the wait. Was a bit disappointed about a lot of the food wasn't in but managed to get a reccomendation off our server, Hannah. I was given really good service by Hannah she was lovely all the way through our stay even with my little boy she managed to keep him entertained and quiet. Most certain will be coming here again.

I visited Bella Italia Castleford this evening to celebrate my birthday and I have no complaints what so ever! I visited with my 3 of my friends. We were greeted with a warm welcome by a very polite waiter and shown to our table straight away. The atmosphere was fantastic, Carla our waitress was very polite and helpful also. The food came out quick and was delicious. Very impressed all round and I will definitely be returning over the Christmas period with my family!

When we arrived at 5:25 we were told to wait by the door while the waitress made a table for us. However, the two groups who came in after us managed to get sitted before us, despite the fact that there was only 3 of us! Eventually we sat down and ordered drinks, which took 15 minutes to arrive, which was when the waitress asked for our orders. Another 45 minutes passed before the starters arrived and a further 25 after that before the main eventually came! The food was average to say the least, and to be fair if i wasnt paying 14.95 for a pizza i would have probably enjoyed it. Finally, to top it off, this ordeal had to be endured in a boiling hot room with the constant shouting of the kitchen staff being heard in the background.

I actually like Bella Italia restaurants, some are clearly better than others, and I think it's fair to say that this is the worst, by a considerable margin.The food is pretty much up to the usual BI standard, but the service is some of the worst I have ever experienced. I am naive enough to have been twice, having believed the manager's excises for the dire service the first time. Fool me twice, shame on me. I have no idea whether all BI outlets are company owned or whether some are franchised but whatever the reason there is no excuse. The Pizza Express at Xscape is excellent as is Nandos so don't even give Bella Italia a try.

This restaurant has recently undergone a refurb and looks great. We had a fantastic night and enjoyed every moment. The only slight critism was the long wait for drinks but the restaurant was packed and extremely busy so was understandable. There was a bit of a wait for food but we were entertained by a magician who was hilarious and really good. The food was worth the wait. We all ordered the ribs and asked for it with new potatoes the ribs come straight off the bone and were absolutely amazing. We had a voucher to save 25% with O2 priority and the waitress was extremely helpful helping us to log onto their wifi so we could make this saving as we had low signal on our mobiles. Overall I would fully recommend to anyone as we all had a great night and the service was extremely friendly

Most of the restaurants in the Xscape center offer lunch menus for aprox £6-7. We opted for Bella Italia. It's a chain of restaurants so going in we knew that it was never going to be home made food. Burger looked lovely. Pasta dishes were a good size, obviously reheated so a bit mushy but fine. Can't go wrong for that prize

Me and my two children have eaten here twice in the last two weeks, after visits to the cinema.On both occasions, the food was excellent, the service was fantastic and atmosphere was welcoming. All the staff made my children feel welcome and we certainly intend to go back!!
