Frankie & Benny's in Wakefield

Dined here this afternoon after winning a competition. We had the 3 course lunch menu & it was great from start to finish. The 3 ladies serving were lovely. Chefs were polite. Yummy food & fast service. Thank you.

We were here tonight and it was great. Alma was excellent - really personable, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was great - really good portion sizes and hot when it was brought over. They even gave me a takeaway box for my leftovers, which is fab.

Alma our waitress worked so hard and was really nice, very attentive and the best waitress I have had in a while.

Served by holly, she was very patient and knew what was in stock and what wasn't. Very smilie and welcoming. Will be returning due the the outstanding service we received by Holly

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Frankie and Benny's Castleford. I visited with my girlfriend and friend. I was struggling to decide on what to have before my friend promoted the waitress, Holly, to help decide. She recommended the chicken burger with a side of beef brisket fries. She was very helpful and her recommendation went down well. Holly made a lasting impression that will no doubt prompt us to return in the future.

Alma who served us, was very friendly and personable. She had a good sense of humour and went above and beyond to make our evening enjoyable. Thank you.

Myself & 3 friends visited yesterday, we all ordered pasta dishes with a side of cheesy garlic bread and meatballs. The nicest food was the garlic bread, all the pasta dishes and meatballs were tasteless, i had the arrabbiata, 2 had spaghetti bolognaise and 1 ordered pulled pork carbonara and received chicken carbonara?... We all ordered coca cola which came out of a can and was charged tripled the price for it. The customer service was mesmerising. There were 2 girls similar age to us (late 20’s) and not once did we get a smile or any conversation, it almost felt a chore they were there!! We didn’t get offered any parmesan with our pasta dishes, so i had to sit with my hand in the air as the staff were chatting; one of the managers had to wave her staff over to us as she was busy however still noticed we wanting service. Just absolutely gutted at the price we paid for shocking customer service and crap food, which is usually good!

Not been here for quite sometime. the decor has been modernized, which is nice but it does not have it's old identity. The food however is a different story. New menu which still has some of the old classics but new ideas to try. Much improved from the time about 5 years ago when it had become slightly tired and jaded Good quality ingredients and very well cooked. The staff are as attentive as they ever were and make an effort to personalize your experience

Food and cocktails were good and service was quick. The waitress who served us, Holly, was very welcoming and kind.

The food was lovely. The staff were attentive and friendly and accommodated our needs with bringing our twin babies with us to the restaurant. It was a very nice evening and would happily visit again.

4 adults 1 child went for meal 3 had the italian food was shckingly awful even garlic bread wasnt up to scratch if that was italian then am a banana.. kids food was ok an the other meal but bill was 105 quid plus soft drinks shockn wont go their again over priced horrid food

HONEST REVIEW my partner and i went for an evening meal recently and really enjoyed it we were originally seated at a very small table even though it wasn't busy Alma that came to take our drinks order soon changed that she is an absolute asset to the company as she said straight away can i move you to a bigger table she showed something you don't see often nowadays common-sense and compassion and her service was quick friendly and a genuine delight to talk to food was nice too

Called with all family after Christmas .worst food I have ever had wife sent lasagne back as it was flat cold in middle. I had parmo dry no sauce or cheese to call of on a bed of spaghetti lol why ? Absolutely shocking staff was good service felt a little run down will never return .

Been to visit this evening and all was well, good service and mostly good food but my wife's chicken parm was burned and the spaghetti cold but when mentioned to the waitress we had no acknowledgement...... left with a hungry wife.

We arrived on time and our table was ready. We were served by Chris who brought our drinks straight away. Food arrive after 10mins and everything was perfect and exactly as we’d asked for (one plate had some specific requirements and all was met perfectly). The bill was delivered quickly and we were in and out within an hour which is what we needed as our daughter was in between performing in shows and this was a quick pit stop for food. Chris was superb, friendly, very efficient and had a lovely manner, Thankyou Chris!

We chose from the Christmas menu and we’re very impressed with the Festive burger-it was delicious and very well presented.

Popped in for lunch to celebrate my Daughter’s birthday. Ellen greeted us and served us throughout. She was lovely, kind, friendly & thoughtful and made the whole experience a pleasure. Food choice was great, and came very quickly. It was a quiet Monday lunch. Really pleased with food quality. Found it a little on pricey side but had a Tastecard so got the 2 for 1 offer which was great. Ellen was a credit to F&B. We’ll be back again over Xmas thank you!

We were served by Tara who did a great job! We arrived (party of 2 adults and 4 children) and were seated immediately which we didn't expect as we had not booked. All staff were lovely and very helpful throughout our visit. The food was perfect and the service was very fast. During the visit, we used the toilet facilities a couple of times and they were very clean and tidy although after flushing, the toilets made a loud humming noise which caused my daughter who has autism, some distress. I was thankful that I had accompanied her. This really was the only very small issue during our visit.

Trading as Bird Box on just eat and uber eats. Placed an order via just eat which the restaurant accepted with an eta of 45mins. After 30mins this ETA increased and increased several times, after an hour my order was cancelled by the restaurant with no explanation.

Literally the best F&B I've been to in a long time. York restaurant put me off for a while. However, Castleford is 5*, beautiful food, amazing staff, spotless restaurant. We'll be back!

Overall very happy. Quickest service I've had at a F&B! Only downside was I asked for the mini kids size for my 1yo but was given the bigger one which went to waste and obviously cost a little bit more. More 'observation' from the staff on the size of the child might have avoided this error - or just double checking whether we meant big or little kids portion.

Worst vegan burger I’ve tasted and it was burnt

Holly was great speedy service very friendly. Food was good, one person in our party said that the classic chicken burger was the best burger she had!

Every Saturday as a family we go out for a meal together but the worst mistake was picking Frankie and Benny. It took over 30 mins to order as the service was slow but it was busy and the server apologised so I can except that. It was the fact that every time we selected an item it was not available. What kind of restaurant runs out of 60% of their menu. No ceaser salad, ribs, lasagne I should have asked what was on the menu instead of what wasn’t. Food was served luke warm at best but decent portion.

Went to try the vegetarian pizza. Ordered the vegetarian pepperoni pizza at £11.75. Ordered the mango smoothie also. The pizza arrived around 10-15 minutes later. Which was good. But the first bite was like eating into burnt toast. I thought maybe it’s just made this way so had a few more slices. When the staff came to ask how it was I enquired if it’s normal to be this well done. She said no it’s a little over done. I told her in all honesty a frozen pizza from Aldi for 99p beats hands down. She apologies and re assured me the dough was fresh. I didn’t really get the why she would say that considering I never mentioned the freshness of the dough. Anyway I said it’s my first time here so I will finish off the pizza and go rather leaving it half or asking you to make another as I do t have the time. At the end credit to her she didn’t charge me for the pizza just the drink. But seriously who ever is in charge of the Whiterose Leeds branch needs to fix up. Atrocious quality.

Me my partner normally come to frankie and bennys but last night was terrible the food was not good at all my partner had the new chicken spaghetti and this morning she has not stopped being sick or off the toilet it is very unlikely that we will be coming back which is a shame because I love the food but last night it was a 1/10

I usually have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant among friends and family. The service is kind and prompt while the setting also matches the attitude of the staff, calm and authentic. An issue arises however when it comes the quality of the food served - while I had no issue with most of the order, one particular starter was undercooked and had consequences later as I had not identified the problem until I had eaten a fair amount of it (my mistake and one I will be more cautious of going forward - asking the staff to burn it rather than risking food poisoning). My friends remarked that while we had requested the starters and mains come out together, the dishes all arrived within 10 minutes, which was unusually quick, further compounding that ONE sensitive dish was enough to make me ill.

We came today, we all have special needs we came out for our friends birthday . I felt very upset First of all it took ages to get our food and drinks orders but what really upset me is the fact they put a £30 service charge on our order without asking us first and also forgot to mention they didn’t have enough change for every individual person. The waiter was very approachable about this and it spoilt it a lot.

Excellent service by Megan. I had an issue with a meal and it was sorted so quickly - a fresh, hot meal within literally 3 minutes! Really impressed. Thanks Megan! 5 stars!

I usually come here for breakfast and it’s always very nice. I would recommend anyone to come here. The staff are friendly and it’s a great atmosphere.

Why serve a jacket potato just plonked on a plate...not opened...NO butter or nothing....why???? AND "CANT TOUCH GLUTEN FREE MEALS" SO WHY COULDN'T I HAVE FRIES AND NOT A JACKET POTATO

I had an amazing experience at Frankie & Benny’s in Castleford! From the moment we arrived, the service was fantastic. Our waitress, Tina, was incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of her way to make us feel welcome. She was especially great with the kids, taking the time to chat with them and listen to their stories, which made the whole meal even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was impressively quick and efficient. Our starters arrived just 20 minutes after we ordered, and our mains followed 20-30 minutes later, which was perfect timing. Tina regularly checked in to see if we needed anything, from extra water to other refreshments, without being intrusive. We also used a Tastecard, and Tina applied the offer without any fuss, even kindly discounting a pizza that was slightly undercooked. Her attention to detail and care made all the difference. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant—great food, excellent service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere!

Really kind and helping service 10/10

I write this review at 00.06 after suffering from crippling food poisoning. I know I caught it from here as it was all I ate on Wednesday 4th of September.

Visited here with a large family group and all in all enjoyed our evening. The starters were very good and seating is comfortable and lighting too. The mains took much longer than we’d hoped and the pasta was a bit bland however management did compensate a little for that and server Christian was very accommodating and friendly. Would happily visit again but hope the service can be a bit quicker and pasta have more sauce.

Great meal, food was delicious, I had the dirty dog and I highly recommend. We were accompanied by Tina and Brodie both lovely ladies and were very friendly. I will definitely be back.

Food sub standard, service ftom manager appalling, seriously needs yo learn some customer service skills.

Manager very rude when we reminded her we were missing a meal. Slammed both drinks and bill on table as if she couldnt be bothered, then when wanting to pay nowhere to be found! Enjoyed her breakfast whilst a young server was trying to look after approx 8/9 tables on her own all at the same time. Manager needs to gain some customer service skills and prioritise what's more important.

There were only two tables when arrived. There was two cooks behind the line, a server and the manager. We were seated quickly and our food and drinks order taken without problem. However, our food started to arrive before our drinks. We were missing a meal, this was pointed out to the manger, who spoke to us in very rude and abrupt manner. Her lack of customer service skills was hilarious to behold. The food was cold and the service wad terrible. The server could do nothing but apologies for her managers terrible behaviour. I would recommend that you do not eat here.

Great food however music a bit too loud..

Service was very slow, 15 minutes for drinks order than another 15 minutes to receive them; food tasted like it was microwaved and pasta was watery. Loved Frankie and bennys aa a child, will not be going back.

Awful Everything was messy. staff didn't care.Food wasn't fresh. The taste of food was completely different from other frankie and benny's. Too much stain on the glass and when we asked for straw they said sorry we don't have. We ordered a seasar salad but they said sorry we don't have!!!

All staff are lovely and friendly and funny but this one particular lady who was due to finish at 4 served us at 5 past 4 with a big smile on her face despite having a really busy shift and not having a break #legand

Regarding the food the bacon was cremated. Sweet potato fries looked like the fat needed changing. Meatballs were cold. Asked the server before we ordered if they were doing the 30% off vouchers which she said yes. Went to pay and it was a no because it was a Sunday before bank holiday. Not great. Won't return

Great service by Elaine, garlic bread, so thin became almost a crisp at points. Rest food very good.

Holly, Jamie and Shannon were truly amazing. Even though it was very busy they ensured they made time to create a great experience for me and my family. I Would highly recommend coming here as im always down for a carbonara as its Holly’s favourite too! Great recommendations for our desserts, the cheesecake went down a treat!

Holly was lovely. Was very helpful with the menu and using discounts. Was kind to my friend who was celebrating his A-level results. Cookie jar sundae was delicious.
