Frankie & Benny's in Wakefield

Every Saturday as a family we go out for a meal together but the worst mistake was picking Frankie and Benny. It took over 30 mins to order as the service was slow but it was busy and the server apologised so I can except that. It was the fact that every time we selected an item it was not available. What kind of restaurant runs out of 60% of their menu. No ceaser salad, ribs, lasagne I should have asked what was on the menu instead of what wasn’t. Food was served luke warm at best but decent portion.

Went to try the vegetarian pizza. Ordered the vegetarian pepperoni pizza at £11.75. Ordered the mango smoothie also. The pizza arrived around 10-15 minutes later. Which was good. But the first bite was like eating into burnt toast. I thought maybe it’s just made this way so had a few more slices. When the staff came to ask how it was I enquired if it’s normal to be this well done. She said no it’s a little over done. I told her in all honesty a frozen pizza from Aldi for 99p beats hands down. She apologies and re assured me the dough was fresh. I didn’t really get the why she would say that considering I never mentioned the freshness of the dough. Anyway I said it’s my first time here so I will finish off the pizza and go rather leaving it half or asking you to make another as I do t have the time. At the end credit to her she didn’t charge me for the pizza just the drink. But seriously who ever is in charge of the Whiterose Leeds branch needs to fix up. Atrocious quality.

I was warmly greeted by Ellen who made the whole experience perfect! She was so lovely and attentive towards me, she gave a brilliant recommendation and provided excellent service from start to finish. She’s a great asset to the team. Thankyou 😊👍🏻

I usually have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant among friends and family. The service is kind and prompt while the setting also matches the attitude of the staff, calm and authentic. An issue arises however when it comes the quality of the food served - while I had no issue with most of the order, one particular starter was undercooked and had consequences later as I had not identified the problem until I had eaten a fair amount of it (my mistake and one I will be more cautious of going forward - asking the staff to burn it rather than risking food poisoning). My friends remarked that while we had requested the starters and mains come out together, the dishes all arrived within 10 minutes, which was unusually quick, further compounding that ONE sensitive dish was enough to make me ill.

Very friendly, welcoming staff. Great food at very reasonable prices.

We came today, we all have special needs we came out for our friends birthday . I felt very upset First of all it took ages to get our food and drinks orders but what really upset me is the fact they put a £30 service charge on our order without asking us first and also forgot to mention they didn’t have enough change for every individual person. The waiter was very approachable about this and it spoilt it a lot.

Excellent service by Megan. I had an issue with a meal and it was sorted so quickly - a fresh, hot meal within literally 3 minutes! Really impressed. Thanks Megan! 5 stars!

Really lovely staff (Ellen and Tina), always bring the babies and they give us a table with plenty of room. Service and food always good.

Website shows breakfast is served until noon, we arrived at 11am and there were only approx 5 tables being used. We were told service has been stopped. Very unhappy 5 year old who only wanted pancakes

Why serve a jacket potato just plonked on a plate...not opened...NO butter or nothing....why???? AND "CANT TOUCH GLUTEN FREE MEALS" SO WHY COULDN'T I HAVE FRIES AND NOT A JACKET POTATO

I write this review at 00.06 after suffering from crippling food poisoning. I know I caught it from here as it was all I ate on Wednesday 4th of September.

I had an amazing experience at Frankie & Benny’s in Castleford! From the moment we arrived, the service was fantastic. Our waitress, Tina, was incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of her way to make us feel welcome. She was especially great with the kids, taking the time to chat with them and listen to their stories, which made the whole meal even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was impressively quick and efficient. Our starters arrived just 20 minutes after we ordered, and our mains followed 20-30 minutes later, which was perfect timing. Tina regularly checked in to see if we needed anything, from extra water to other refreshments, without being intrusive. We also used a Tastecard, and Tina applied the offer without any fuss, even kindly discounting a pizza that was slightly undercooked. Her attention to detail and care made all the difference. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant—great food, excellent service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere!

Really kind and helping service 10/10

Visited here with a large family group and all in all enjoyed our evening. The starters were very good and seating is comfortable and lighting too. The mains took much longer than we’d hoped and the pasta was a bit bland however management did compensate a little for that and server Christian was very accommodating and friendly. Would happily visit again but hope the service can be a bit quicker and pasta have more sauce.

Great meal, food was delicious, I had the dirty dog and I highly recommend. We were accompanied by Tina and Brodie both lovely ladies and were very friendly. I will definitely be back.

Great service by Ellen despite being really busy

Manager very rude when we reminded her we were missing a meal. Slammed both drinks and bill on table as if she couldnt be bothered, then when wanting to pay nowhere to be found! Enjoyed her breakfast whilst a young server was trying to look after approx 8/9 tables on her own all at the same time. Manager needs to gain some customer service skills and prioritise what's more important.

Food sub standard, service ftom manager appalling, seriously needs yo learn some customer service skills.

There were only two tables when arrived. There was two cooks behind the line, a server and the manager. We were seated quickly and our food and drinks order taken without problem. However, our food started to arrive before our drinks. We were missing a meal, this was pointed out to the manger, who spoke to us in very rude and abrupt manner. Her lack of customer service skills was hilarious to behold. The food was cold and the service wad terrible. The server could do nothing but apologies for her managers terrible behaviour. I would recommend that you do not eat here.

Great food however music a bit too loud..

Service was very slow, 15 minutes for drinks order than another 15 minutes to receive them; food tasted like it was microwaved and pasta was watery. Loved Frankie and bennys aa a child, will not be going back.

All staff are lovely and friendly and funny but this one particular lady who was due to finish at 4 served us at 5 past 4 with a big smile on her face despite having a really busy shift and not having a break #legand

Awful Everything was messy. staff didn't care.Food wasn't fresh. The taste of food was completely different from other frankie and benny's. Too much stain on the glass and when we asked for straw they said sorry we don't have. We ordered a seasar salad but they said sorry we don't have!!!

Regarding the food the bacon was cremated. Sweet potato fries looked like the fat needed changing. Meatballs were cold. Asked the server before we ordered if they were doing the 30% off vouchers which she said yes. Went to pay and it was a no because it was a Sunday before bank holiday. Not great. Won't return

Great service by Elaine, garlic bread, so thin became almost a crisp at points. Rest food very good.

Holly, Jamie and Shannon were truly amazing. Even though it was very busy they ensured they made time to create a great experience for me and my family. I Would highly recommend coming here as im always down for a carbonara as its Holly’s favourite too! Great recommendations for our desserts, the cheesecake went down a treat!

Holly was lovely. Was very helpful with the menu and using discounts. Was kind to my friend who was celebrating his A-level results. Cookie jar sundae was delicious.

I was served by Ellen this morning, she was incredibly friendly and kind! She really made an effort to stick around and have a chat with me, she really put a smile on my face! The chefs were also super friendly, thank you Ethan for the food!

We've visited a few times but last week we were served by Brodie. She was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We could see that she was going above and beyond, seating guests, completing drink orders, serving us as well as other guests and making sure everything was to standard. Best service we've had in a long time

Frankie & Benny's is always a great place to eat - friendly staff, great atmosphere, quick service and delicious food, a very stark contrast to the TGI Friday's opposite which is horrible. We had the strawberry cheesecake for desserts as recommended by our server Holly and they were very refreshing and nice! Highly recommend for a night out or post cinema meal!

I expected more, maybe my mistake. Vegan bean burger - patty itself tasted okay but bread was dry & far too much hummus & mayo that you couldn't hold it. No sign of salad Sons meat burger, just meh!

We went at 11am for breakfast, the staff saw we were struggling with our autistic daughter and took our order straight away. I asked if they could do beans on toast for her and they obliged. They brought her food first without us having to ask, she soon settled once she was eating. As for our food we ordered 'big one' breakfast and to be honest it was. All the food was hot when delivered to the table and the staff very polite. A special shout out to Ellen who was was our waitress and knew how to help us with our daughter.

Visited for a family birthday, 2 adults and 2 kids who struggle to sit still. Very rarely go out as it’s expensive these days and tend to be more stressful than it’s worth. Had a great experience though. Food was quick, hot and tasted great. Staff went the extra mile which is rare these days and actually made me want to tip them. The ambience for a Sunday night was quieter than I remember and the lighting seems to have gotten brighter but I suppose this is personal preference, I would have preferred slightly louder music and darker environment. I had the chicken and ribs which was an eye watering £23 but to be honest, it was amazing and I was stuffed. We also had garlic bread with cheese and mozzy sticks for starters, perfect. The warm brownie with ice cream was a hit with the family. Will go back for sure once budget allows.

Great service from Brodie on our recent visit and she was lovely with our 3 year old. The hot honey chicken burger from the summer specials was really tasty and good portions for the cost.

Tina served us and went above and beyond for us, she was engaging with the kids and made our experience very enjoyable. The food was excellent and the service was fast. We will be coming back again !

Not long to wait at all. Was met by Brodie. Nice happy and polite. Tara was our main server well mannered well dressed and polite to us all. So refreshing to have such great service by a waitress. She took her time with us and was helpful in all manners. Great smile. Food was fantastic. A lady called Tina also dealt with us. Have to say the 3 ladies made the night going back because of them.

Brodie served us and was so energetic and engaging with the children, they found her really funny. She was super helpful and very efficient.

Went with family after a day out shopping at junction 32 and I was pleasantly surprised! The food was great and the waiting staff were extremely kind! Holly, the waitress serving our table went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice experience, she recommended I have the carbonara as it was her favourite and I must say it might be my favourite too!

I have loved my meal tonight, the service from Brodie was fab, she was quick to serve me and was very friendly. Ethan made an amazing burger which was quick and tasty. Definitely will return soon.

Did not have a long queue and was asked what drinks we wanted within 5 minutes of sitting down, we ordered the Brooklyn bundle which was good but had a flaw. The chips were a little bit cold but still warm enough to not complain. However, my friend was not pleased with them not having pepsi as a drink option. And tried insisting to a staff member (Holly) that they did, because he’s an idiot. Holly was polite and patient with our friend with his pepsi antics and as a whole. I would come again.

Me an my partner came for lunch, we was seated and ordered the 2 course lunch menu with refillable drinks. Upon ordering drinks we asked if I could have Dr Pepper to which the server said yes, upon ordering my second Dr Pepper we were approached by a lady we presume was the manager, she was very abrupt n stated that Dr Pepper was not refillable n made out we’d read the menu incorrectly and had already been charged for the first Dr Pepper despite overhearing her correcting the servers mistake on our order. Wed have happily paid extra or ordered a coke instead. In our opinion the manager should have acknowledged their mistake and made us pick a different drink going forwards. Not charge us extra. We were unhappy with how we were spoken to and made out we was in the wrong when it was clearly a mistake on there end, we found this made us very uncomfortable n we will never return again due to the bad customer service we had received. on our way out we also heard another table had the same issues and were being refunded after we had already paid.

The food on the new menu is great. Really enjoyed what we had. Our server Holly was brilliant and very attentive. We couldnt decide what we wanted and she helped us pick. Gave us ideas and gave us time to choose. Definitely coming back.

I believe now bao is part of this and they don’t turn up with food, don’t bother using them

If you order food online please don't be surprised that your food comes cold or you are waiting a few hours. Staff is rude to drivers and treats drivers like a worse sort of people... Only English men are treated with respect. So the place become even worse now. Not even mention that your food is stored for all that time in a heater and it will dry completely. No words about the old lady in glasses and how she treats people... This is some mistake who works there. Rubbish!!!

Ellen a waitress here at Castleford goes above and beyond when I come in for my breakfast. I love that she checks everything is done correctly and no cross contamination for my gluten free breakfast. I can relax and eat with out the worry I always walk out of there with a smile and it’s my go to to kick start my day

Dined today with my nan. We both really enjoyed our food. We both ate 2 courses from the lunch menu. It’s great value with good options to choose from. The restaurant is clean and run smoothly. Would definitely recommend dining here!

Me and my partner came for a meal this evening. We were greeted up on our arrival by a friendly and welcoming member of staff called Elaine. She asked us if we had any allergies and then showed us to a table. She was helpful and attentive, but also gave us space and time to enjoy our meal. The food was lovely, service was great and the food arrived in a timely manner. We would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back again.

All the food ordered was great. Kids love the pizza. I really enjoyed the new BBQ chicken burger. My boys said their dad is the best dad because he makes us laugh, he plays fortnite with us, and we have Nerf wars! We never let him win though!

We love Frankie and bennies because they have plenty of options for my dairy allergy and all the waitresses give me games to play. My daddy is the best because he gives me the biggest cuddles and reads the best bedtime stories! (WO 4 years old)

For the in house challenge, my dad is the best cuz he provides and cares for the family like no other dad, and before you mention it, he would definitely beat up all your dads. I enjoyed the BBQ chicken sandwich, was very well seasoned and the texture was ON POINT. Service was pretty good, messed up my order but fixed it promptly, no harm no foul. All in all, 8/10 experience!
