Pizza Express in Charnwood

We don't visit Loughborough ; a real taste often but, when lunching, it is hard to find a better venue in the town. Service is friendly and timely whilst the change of menu allowing for us to have "2 pizzas in one" is a delight. Spicey on one side and veggies on the other coupled with a generous mixed salad were nicely cooked on the Romana base which we prefer to a thick dough. With a good covering of ingredients these pizzas were filling, hot and tasty. Congrats to the chef and to Ellie our waitress.

Nice and quiet and one of us had student discount, YES! 23 quid straight off the bill. Padana Pizza with extra mushrooms and Smokey BBQ Chicken Pizza, dough balls and sticky toffee pudding today’s choices. Not a bad Monday at all.

Thank you for the great food. However, I would like to request that the dishes not be overcooked. On my last three visits, I found large portions of burnt dough and lasagna, which forced me to keep removing the burnt parts while eating, leaving leftover.

Patryk and his team went above and beyond to make my twins’ birthday meal special - there were 25 of us (13 kids!) and we were all seated in a nice area together, with birthday posters, a ballon and personalised cards for the birthday boys. The food and service was great and nothing was too much trouble. All in all, an absolutely brilliant experience and we are very grateful to the team for making it so stress free and enjoyable!

The fresh new menu is exciting and different. Our waiter (at Loughborough) Adam was friendly, professional and attentive. All in all a great meal! I strongly recommend Loughborough branch for a visit!

Always reliable. Lot more expensive recently though. The app has very few benefits now. Kids love it and vegan options are good. Gluten free pizzas are kids size only which I find perplexing. Why?? I'm prepared to pay more for an adult sized pizza! Come on Pizza Express. About time this was sorted.

We went as a family of four to make use of the 'kids eat for free' deal where you get a free children's piccolo meal for each adult main. The food was nice enough for what it is. However, when we received the bill, we were charged for the two adults meals and drinks that we'd ordered, plus there was a part charge for the piccolo meals. When we queried it, the server (Patryk) referred to various numbers, none of which actually added up and ended up being a little rude frankly. There was no explanation given for why there was a partial charge for the piccolo meals when they were supposed to be free. He didn't seem to think there was an issue, so would not amend the bill. I don't mind if a mistake is made, but the response we received was appalling and represents terrible customer service. We won't be returning.

Tom was great as host and helped us greatly with the APP and offers available. Pizzas were excellent . With Revolution and Cineworld closing important we support those businesses still remaining in Loughborough.

We always visit mid afternoon during the week because it is quieter. We continue to come to this clean, friendly pizza restaurant because the food is delicious every trip and the service professional, quick and friendly. The staff are always helpful and Alice and Alex stand out thanks! We also have to mention the Pizza guy, Esbat great cooking thanks! My favourite is the Padana main and the beautifully fresh mozzarella and pesto to start - light and tasty. DH enjoys the slightly spiced prawns to start (another light delicious dish) and the Spicey Giuseppe pizza. The blush wine is always served perfectly chilled what more can I say... oh it is a relaxing restaurant, nice decor and comfy seats.

Food was amazing as always, and it was a nice restaurant. Our waitress Daniella was so polite and helpful with recommendations and a nice friendly tone :)

Previous visits here weren’t great, but this year they changed the manager and it’s pretty good food for Loughborough. Pizza is arguably best in town. Reasonable prices, friendly staff.

The gluten free pizza base wasn't cooked, soft more like a pancake. Shame as toppings were lovely. Don't know if it was rushed as when eat in restaurant or picked up myself has been fine. Rang restaurant and said they haven't changed the bases. 🙁

I thought food from just eat is meant to be sealed. Mine was not and the box was slightly open. I do not feel comfortable eating this food. I have taken photos as proof and would like a full refund

Since our arrival this member of staff has not stood still, constantly helping customers and completing tasks without direction. She tended to all our needs in a Friendly, professional and not pushy way. This young lady will go far!! Massive thanks Lauren, we will try PE again. 🤗

The dough balls were completely burnt and was unable to send out a replacement

After walking around for a while I decided I would have pizza at Pizza Express. It had been a while since I had been to Pizza Express. They had a new addition to their menu, the Soho '65. A slice of our heritage - tomato with garlic, fresh buffalo mozzarella, olives, rocket and shaved Gran Milano cheesSe. So I ordered the Soho '65 and a side order of halloumi bites. It wasn't too long before my food arrived. This is a rather simple, but tasty pizza. It’s also a square pizza. I think they forgot to add the shaved Gran Milano cheese, this I didn't notice at the time. However I did enjoy the pizza and did like the combination of fresh mozzarella, olives, and rocket. The base was baked well and was crisp on the outside, soft in the middle, and tasty. Alongside (as I had a free side in the app) I had a portion of halloumi bites, this was crispy coated halloumi with Italian tomato dip and parsley. Didn't think much of these, the halloumi was okay, but I didn't like the tomato dip. I think as it was (probably) from a jar and didn't taste very fresh. I did enjoy my meal and the service was excellent.

Good quality food, friendly service. A little quieter than we expected on Bank Holiday weekend.

Mains were ok, nothing special. Sides of chips and halloumi bites were dreadful though, definitely wouldn’t order them again. Service was ok, staff were friendly but there was no atmosphere to the restaurant. It’s worth noting that any discount codes/offers do not work with app rewards. This wasn’t highlighted by staff, but luckily sorted in the end.

My son had a pizza party yesterday for his birthday with a group of friends. Natalie, who hosted, was brilliant with the children. They all had so much fun and my son had a great time. Thank you to Natalie and the team for a great party.

Fantastic meal and quick, attentive service for a Saturday night- the meal was somewhat spoilt by a particularly problematic and rude customer who was sat on a nearby table, however the manager (young, blonde male in a black jumper) dealt with it exceptionally well and was professional throughout - but it was no fault of the staff who were fantastic overall!

Low value for money. Ordered for first time 2 pizzas because Pizza Express had an offer and I have decided to give them a try but the size of pizzas was very small considering the amount of money paid. I could get bigger and cheaper from other local pizza shops. The app listing doesn't show a real photos of size so as customer I you don't know what to expect when you receive the order . Overall the taste was very good but unfortunately I will not come back to Pizza Express , too expensive for size .

Delicious food and the driver was an absolute angel

Service was terrible... There just wasn't any. Wanted to order another drink mid-meal and there was just nobody to ask. Food wasn't fantastic for the price, but adequate. Edit: In response to them asking me to contact them, I have no intention of doing so, I just won't be going back again.

Always enjoy a great meal eating out or dining in with family and friends - we enjoy the varied menu choices, gluten free and veggie options. Especially the new Pollo Fiesta pizza…it’s yum! As regulars I thought to share this review because it’s not often you can visit a restaurant (over many years) and the quality of food and customer service just gets better. Many happy memories made with kids parties, family celebrations and cosying up at home with a GREAT pizza.

We had a table of nine, the waitress took ages to come and take our drinks order, too busy chatting with her friend then look after the tables, the food was average at best. I've had better frozen pizza. Then they put a service charge on without letting us know before hand.

We're in here way too often with Tesco vouchers because it's such an easy option with young children. On the rare occasion we've been disappointed (not this time), staff have gone out of their way to make amends. Enjoyed the new festive meny options and appreciated staff accommodating our request for starters and mains to come out together and kids puddings to go so that we could get home for bedtime. Everyone enjoyed their meals, the kids love the hats and activities, a simple, enjoyable, family meal out yet again. I am gluten free (coeliac).

Food was good, ambiance was good but the service was not great at all. Very slow, even though we were in on a quiet Sunday. Had to constantly ask for their attention to get pudding menus and the bill etc… whole meal took 40 mins longer than necessary.

Parents did not stop them , but surprisingly the manager or staff did not do anything to intervene?

I went for food at the loughborough pizza express on 28/09. My daughter has an allergy and they questioned it as we were welcomed at the door, which I find was useful as they already knew about the allergies before I ordered our food. The manager on shift was very welcoming and he asked us our preference on where we would like to sit and we chose our usual seat, he helped me with my pushchair up the stairs. My food was amazing, suited to our allergies and waitress beth helped me to change items on the pizza so that it was dairy free. The food was really well cooked and tasted amazing. With it being vegan cheese, I was expecting something completely different. We will be coming again!! Thankyou Pizza Express :)

Great food and excellent service really friendly vibe

We had a lovely experience here, the staff were so incredibly kind and did everything to make sure we were comfortable. our waitress in particular was absolutely wonderful, she went above and beyond to ensure we were accommodated for. You couldn’t ask for better customer service than this! Would absolutely recommend and we’ll definitely be returning!

The best Pizza Express I have been to. The layout is spacious and airy. Great atmosphere. Lovely welcome by Lewis, and all staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. We will be back.

The place was clean, the food was hot and full of flavour and plenty of it. Service was actually excellent with a bunch of smiley helpful waitresses.. I definitely would go back.

Pizza wasn’t even Lukewarm. I am/was seriously disappointed.

Terrible experience here today the place was half empty and yet still we waited for the staff to take our order and clear the plates! We even witnessed a staff member eating food off one of the plates they had collected! Overpriced terrible food and shocking service we shall not be recommending or returning here.

Special thank you to Lewis, we came in on Saturday for a staff meal and he was super friendly, helpful and his service was amazing. Never met such a happy and polite person, definitely makes Pizza Express a nice place and we will be back soon!

I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Pizza Express in Loughborough, it’s by far one of the best I’ve visited, Lewis was super attentive and friendly throughout my visit and the food was perfect - I’ll definitely return when I next visit Loughborough.

We chose this restaurant for a family dinner. We were greeted with friendly staff to be seated on a table of our choice. The service was quick, after placing our order from a selection of menu. The Classic Pesto Dough-balls were very tasty as well as the Romana Vegan Giardinara pizza. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We had lunch in the restaurar, seems like all servers crossing hands and no good posture as profesional waiter, we get pizza which was quite fast, I find a blonde hair on it, waitress apologies for that instead of the manager or person in charge, so disappointed and I'll never recommend this place.

Came here for a Fathers Day meal, was pleasantly greeted by a the manager, I think he name was Lewis. Made the experience really nice, and was incredibly helpful. The staff in general were all very welcoming. Made for a throughly enjoyable meal out :)

I went to pizza express in Loughborough for a lunch with my girlfriends, and we had such an enjoyable time. The food was lovely and so it was the staff, Karolina welcomed us and sat us at the table, made some recommendations and was very friendly. We’re definitely coming back!

The menu made no mention of pizza sizes, so having eaten in person at the restaurant, I made what I thought was a reasonable assumption that for the listed prices the pizzas would be large (or at worst medium). They were only individual sizes (I think 10 inch), which wasn’t enough food for everyone. So the pricing seems very high for individual pizzas, and the menu should be clear that all pizzas are individual size only, so that there can be no confusion.

I ate at this branch of Pizza Express with my family on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Service and food was great (recommend the Pollo forza pizza) and reasonably priced. My two boys had the set children’s menu which consisted of dough balls to start, pizza, drink and dessert and was very reasonably priced.

Terrible service. I called the restaraunt and was met with abysmally poor customer service. I think that pizza express should rebrand as "pizza when we can be bothered"

Usual standard of food. But on this occasion it seemed like our mains were forgotten. Had to ask where they were twice.

We had our Daughters 8th Birthday here yesterday. The whole experience was fantastic and such a great idea. The children loved making Pizza with the Young Lady showing them all what to doo, and the extra games and activities were fun. A brilliant experience for a party and the friendly staff were all absolutely amazing! Many thanks for giving us a brilliant morning!! 👍👍👍

Very nice place , the sitting is comfortable and the place is cosy. I have tried their pizza and pesto pasta. Their both good . However food portions is so small for the price you pay 🙁 The have students discount 👩‍🎓 thought

The food is delicious and the staff are friendly however I always find that there are crumbs on chairs and tables not wiped down properly every time. The toilets could be cleaner.

Brilliant for coeliac's. Only use rice flour in their kitchen's so you can order pizza's without worrying about cross contamination. Love the pollo pesto pasta, which is gluten-free as standard. Little on the expensive side, but all gluten-free food is unfortunately.

Visited a few months ago. A girl called Liv served us but she was rude and her behaviour was enough to keep us away for good. It's a shame because we really liked this restaurant.

The food is OK, but it is expensive and not very good value for money. To be honest, we only go when we have Tesco Clubcard vouchers to use - if you don't have any you are better off at Peter's Pizza directly over the road - the pizzas are better and cheaper!

We had Theo as our waiter/server. They were very kind and friendly and a great aspect to the team, well done Theo !!! Your managers should be very proud to have someone like you.

We both pre-booked and pre-ordered everything in advance, yet still the food took exactly 2 hours to arrive. Everyone was beyond starving. When they finally did arrive, they left out and forgot about four of the meals. When we explained the situation to the manager they weren’t even slightly apologetic, and just replied they’ll “see what they can do”. Food was expensive despite this level of service and the portions were small. I understand managing wait times in a restaurant is difficult and number of customers can vary unexpectedly, but this was not even slightly close to the mark, and if accepting customers would result in a 2hr wait time with several forgotten orders, then perhaps Pizza Express is accepting far far more tables than they could manage.

Invited here for lunch with friends, total trepidation as my previous visit last december was a disaster, hence my previous bad review We were the only 3 people in the restaurant around 12.30 so the service was fab, strangely enough our waiter was truely italian and very lovely Great lunch, plenty of choice would recommend to be served by the lovely guy
