Alduomo in Brighton and Hove

We had a great family meal here. The children menu had some great options and the staff were really child friendly. It was great that they brought out children’s meals with the starters. Our mains were really tasty and generous portions. Would definitely recommend this place.

Visited with friends and family for dinner. Requested a quiet table when booking but found surroundings quite noisy on arrival. Good choice of menu and staff were accommodating. Majority of our party opted for pizzas which were very good. Desserts were a little disappointing, there was too much coulis on the panacotta for my taste. Good selection of ice cream flavours.

The real McCoy, very tasty meal, lovely starter of King prawns in a herby sauce, mmm. Then an equally tasty main with a crisp Italian beer :-)

Amazing food, I had the scallop risotto and my friend had the spaghetti carbonara, both were perfect. Chocolate dome for dessert was incredible. Watch out for the 12.5% service charge though, this wasnt clear.

I am a restaurant owner on holiday in Brighton. I visited the restaurant with my family yesterday. We have been seated on the terrace. Julie, the hostess, was welcoming, helpful and very professional. Very impressive . My kids liked her a lot .Our waiter Michael was great. Food was delicious . But the restaurant had understaffing issues.. It was a hot and sunny Sunday afternoon. And only 2 staff members worked at the terrace during busy lunchtime. They have made a huge effort to provide an exceptional service to every single table. But clearly, they were struggling because they were understaffed. The manager showed up once to argue with the waiter, spoke in Italian language I guess. And was never seen afterward. The restaurant was poorly managed. When I went inside, I saw that the bar was messy, full of dirty glasses on the top. Single staff behind the bar and only one girl on the floor; she was struggling alone. Dirty tables. The manager hasn’t been seen inside . But shockingly, I saw 2 pizza chefs were doing nothing but laughing. The management needs improvement. The hostess lady tried to keep everything under control.

Another favourite when in Brighton, especially when the 🌞 is shining & you can get to dine Al fresco 👍👍.. Service could have been a tad sharper, hence 4*...😊

Amazing fish croquettes. I was expecting three little croquettes as this was a starter absolutely amazing value for money.

This is a great little place near the Royal Pavilion; we walked right in without a reservation in late afternoon on a Saturday. I had the lobster culurgiones, which was fantastic. The drinks were good and so was the service, I recommend.

Great great service and even greater food! So this restaurant changed hands about three years ago and the owner is from Sardinia and he knows his stuff everything was top-notch… the portions were large and I couldn’t finish my own plate of pasta which never happens for me!! I had the deep fried vegetables which were amazing, especially the artichokes and the pasta I had was with beef Ragu with big chunks of beef in it and it was fabulous because you don’t see the attention to detail or the quality of produce very often in restaurants in a very tourist area.

Visited this restaurant on a Monday evening. We were greeted by a very polite and friendly waiter/ manager. We decided to sit outside and all I can say is my partner and I really enjoyed the food . We shared 4 starters and to follow we have a couple of pizzas which we had to box up and take home. We then tried the tiramisu and lemon cheesecake . All of our food was flavoursome and delicious. All this accompanied by a couple of ice cold Moretti . Thank you so much to all the team . Grazie a tutti .

We returned last weekend to The Al Duomo to eat again. We were served by Julie at this time , who was the sweetest, loveliest and most welcoming person you could wish for. Her personality shines as does her wonderful front line manner. Her pure attentiveness to all she served really puts her above anyone we have had in her role. Thank you Julie for being such a fabulous and very professional waitress/ manager , you truly are a star in what you do and the personalised service you give. All your recommendations were excellent , and we really enjoyed the delicious foods especially the prawn risotto was my favourite!The Al Duomo , you should be very proud of this manager lady . Also we have to say the floor team is doing an excellent job, it was a very busy time when we dined there. A very young girl served our food it was very impressive as she served with profession . A very good team is running this restaurant. We had a really good time . We will come back again!!

We booked here last night as we were at a concert at The Brighton centre. Weve been here before but only eaten outside in the summer on a few occassions. Tonight we were inside. Everything was like before, fantastic food, lovely service, the restaurant and toilets are spotless. When we are next in Brighton, we shall return.

Lovely food but more than that the service was exceptional - friendly and attentive. We won’t look any further the next time we are in Brighton. We would both thoroughly recommend.

Very, very disappointing! My friend and I have visited on numerous occasions just for drinks and were appalled at a 12.5% service charge added on for ordering 4 drinks! What a rip off! We shan’t we going back, which is such a shame as it had been an annual tradition on our visit to Brighton.

I am so glad that the last weekend we chose this place for our family meal! The food was great, the atmosphere lovely, but the service was absolutely exceptional. The place was busy and we were very lucky that a member of the management team was serving us. Julie was absolutely wonderful; knowledgeable, polite, helpful and we felt really looked after. The kids loved her, and I can tell you they can be a handful sometimes :) I can highly recommend this place and I hope you would be as lucky as we were to have Julie taking care of you.

Delicious food and friendly staff. It's also really nice that they allow dogs here. The food is a little on the pricy side at £19 for a pasta dish, but it was very tasty. Would go again.

Popped in for lunch after visiting the Royal Pavilion. It’s very well situated (literally outside the exit) and also across the road from the Lanes which we strolled through afterwards. Modern bright decor. Lots of choice on the menu. Waiting staff were very nice and super helpful. We didn’t have room but I have to say the desserts looked amazing. Sometimes a place just on the doorstep of a major attraction should be avoided but this is NOT the case for il duomo.

Expensive loud and really not all that. Seated upstairs evening it was dark with, Multi colour flashing lights pizza was very doughy and sparse toppings pint of beer £8 and be aware they just add 15 percent service charge would not recommend or go back

Excellent food with first class service Probably one of the best pizza I have ever had. The minute steak was very good quality and the tiramisu was superb.

We had lunch at Al Duomo today with friends and found the whole dining experience very enjoyable We opted for their express menu which was very reasonably priced and included full sized portions no different from the main menu The food was served hot and well presented and it all tasted delicious and the portions was very generous Everyone enjoyed their food and I especially enjoyed my aubergine parmigiana and my coffee flavoured ice cream. The restaurant was light and airy and very modern and it had relaxing ambience, not like some others which are so loud it’s difficult to maintain a conversation. We all agreed that we would happily return here again. Well done Al Duomo!

Our family were in Brighton for my sons graduation and he chose this restaurant for our meal. It was a brilliant choice, the food was delicious, plentiful and reasonable with a good variety of choices on the menu. I will definitely visit again when I am in Brighton and will also recommend it to all my friends who visit Brighton.

This restaurant omgoodness !!! Is so overpriced. My partner paid £25 for steak then noticed on the bill we paid £3 for the sauce to accompany the steak !!! My food was just about warm so returned it to be heated up my partners food was warm Asked for it to be heated up that took so long his steak was nearly cold . Went to this restaurant many years ago and remember even then how expensive it was .. others we wanted to go to instead were booked out .. an expensive lesson learned 😡 we will not be going again . Wonderful singer and guitarist saved the evening .. and the pleasant professional staff and pizza makers were a delight happy and singing along.

Booked this restaurant for my wife and myself to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. The restaurant was not very busy as it was early. We were seated at out table with the menus and the waiter then left us. When we were ready to order i had some problem getting the waiter attention. He was leaning on the counter looking the other way as he spent most of his time doing so. He took our order and then he did not come near us for the rest of the evening as we were served by others. We were served our startes which were very nice the spent 10 minutes looking at dirty plates. the plates were removed and then another 15 minutes wait for our main course and the dishes we had were both excellent. After looking at dirty plates once more for over 15 minutes I eventually got some attension and asked for the Desert Menu. This did not arrive and after a further 15 minutes i got up and spoke to the Manager and told him of the very bad service we had recieved and asked for the bill. This came quite promptly and then i asked him to deduct the service charge as i did not wish to pay it. I and my wife could not fault the food at this restaurant and the wine we choose was good and a reasonable price. Cannot comment on the Deserts as we had got fed up waiting for a menu. Food good Service atrocious.

AMAZING! Thought this could be quite touristy and not the best quality as it's in the centre of Brighton in the Pavilion. But not true at all - all authentic dishes. Amazing pasta, friendly staff, a great atmosphere for my birthday meal. The staff had mixed up our booking which they were so apologetic about, but got us a table within 15 minutes even though they were very busy. They brought me out a chocolate dessert for my birthday which I can honestly say was one of the nicest I've eaten in my life! Service was brilliant, cannot fault this place in any way. Grazie mille.

As per usual, the service was excellent. There were about 20 of us, and we all agreed that the service and food was 5 star. Everyone was super friendly and made us feel like we were sitting round a family dinner table. Thanks again, and we will be back!!

What better than being able to sit outside and have lunch on a warm October day in Brighton. Al Duomo is located on a pedestrian street next to the Brighton Pavilion so a good spot to people watch and enjoy lunch. We each chose seafood pasta. 3 of us had the Tortellini with crab and prawns and I had the seafood pasta. The sauces were excellent and very moorish. With a couple of breads we found one course enough and we enjoyed a 2 bottles of a pleasant bottle of Pinot Grigio from Trentino at £26. Service was friendly and helpful. The damage £182 for 4. We look forward to going again.

First off, the food was very tasty - no complaints there. However our visit (Sunday 3pm ish) was marred by a few issues…… Our order was taken (3 pizzas and a pasta dish) then about 5 mins later we were told they couldn’t make any pizzas as they had no dough. I would have thought this was a pretty important thing for the staff to have been made aware of….. We had to pick something else from the menu - all of which were higher cost items. In fairness they gave us a 10% discount but only because I requested something. Still, it worked out more expensive than our first choice. We didn’t get all our drinks order despite flagging this to 2 different members of staff on three occasions. Then there was a very sharp and hard object in my food - I had a pasta and beef dish so it was likely to be bone but still - very dangerous. I understand these things happen from time to time. Serving staff were all very polite and helpful. All in all we had mixed feelings about our visit. Not sure we would go again.

I have been here a few times and the food is proper authentic Italian. However, our meal yesterday was slightly ruined by an unpleasant group of people on another table who were rude and condescending to the lovely staff, shouting out comments so all could hear across the restaurant. It’s a shame that some people don’t have nice manners or respect for either staff or other customers - they were an embarrassment to all!

This is probably the only and real ITALIAN Restaurants in UK, not only for the service and rich menu', but for the pasta properly cooked al dente with the proper ingredients ( instead of already boiled pasta with added sauce as most of the other...
