Shocking. Won’t be going back. Didn’t have half the items on the menu. My pasta was warm not hot and so oily I had to send it back. The garlic bread with cheese and onions was so burnt we couldn’t eat it and had to get it re done. Our passionfruit sparkling drinks were flat. And to top it off I was over charged and then told they couldn’t refund me the difference!

Our server Julia was fab and really helpful. Food was amazing will definitely come back!

I’ve not been to Zizzi for about 10 years, but last night we thought we’d give it a go. The whole experience was diabolical and they sealed us never returning again. It was a Saturday night, the last one before Christmas. When we arrived there was a queue for a table. Which was understandable, the server was outside snogging a uber eats driver! She then proceeded to push past the queue with a ‘the quicker you let me through, the quicker I can show you to your seats’ she then vanished for about 5 minutes to get changed. We had booked a table and we were 5 minutes early for our booking, we ended up being seated 10 minutes after our booking as they had to find a table and clean it. The restaurant really wasn’t busy for a Saturday night but despite this the service was terrible from start to finish. We were seated next to another couple, the gentleman clearly had Covid or something similar as he had a hacking cough. Not the restaurants fault, but if you’re in hospitality you could have been aware of this and sat us elsewhere. I went to order my starter and main and both were unavailable - the server said we should have been told this when we were seated… yes, we agree we should have. So, I ordered alternatives to what I wanted. Then our main meals came out before our starters… not once, but twice we had to send them away. I had the mozzarella bombe, this was underwhelming. Barely any mozzarella and was just really a piece of garlic pizza. When the mains came out, mine was stone cold! We suspect that mine was just left to one side until we had finished our starters. Rather than made fresh. We sent this back and it did come back piping hot - but the portion was barely fit for a child and being that it’s nearly £20, it was overpriced. All in all a truly terrible experience and we will be sticking to independent restaurants that actually care about customers in the future.

Julia has been a great member of staff, very kind and clearly looks after her customers. Very engaging, nice to yalk to and a brilliant asset to have as an employee.

I’m a regular customer at Zizis, I live in Portsmouth and regularly visit the zizis in Bournemouth and always have an enjoyable experience but when I went to the one in Brighton it was like going into a different restaurant chain. The service was awful and we were left waiting for quite some time even though they were not busy, the food items we ordered were not available and these were advertised all around the restaurant as the seasonal favourites. I was very disappointed with the whole experience.

I would recommend that the staff are advised what dishes are not available so that customers do not choose what they want to eat and then are rushed to find alternatives.This happened today with the Christmas menu ,main courses and deserts,also my brucetta was impossible to cut,would not recommend Zizzi.

Probably the worst meal I’ve ever had. Set Christmas menu which was ordered well in advance, yet starter most people had ordered was unavailable plus one of the mains. Starter alternatives were nice. Mains all came out cold and the assistant manager gave attitude saying it was because we weren’t at our table when it came out (I went to the toilet and was no longer than 5 minutes). My main was reheated but was not enjoyable at all. Dessert was average and didn’t match the description on the menu. Waiters miserable and all need retraining. From someone who has worked with customers for 14 years, I found this terrible! Avoid at all costs!

Iain and Adam were EXCEPTIONAL hosting a last minute 6-person 30th birthday party. They were attentive, personable and made our whole evening so memorable! Thank you both and your team for making our evening so special - we will be back and look forward to seeing you again soon!

Had lasagne today such a shame as food here is normally good . The portion was small for a main and didn’t look 6 layers ! The lasagne was burnt on the bottom and continued to cook as the dish was so hot !

LOVE IT AT ZIZZIS The food, drinks and service was amazing. Was here on a date with my partner and couldn’t have picked a better place. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was lovely. The restaurant was clean, service was fast and the food was very tasty. Though quite while we were there, we felt comfortable and enjoyed the experience, music and refreshments. The drinks were great and price was adequate. Great place for a date night!!!

Ordered some filled donuts. Only to be met by frozen hard lumps. I understand not homemade in a process kitchen but to send them out straight from the freezer is a joke. Called the restaurant who advised to let them thaw!!!

Excellent service received from Lucas, as we hadn’t book in advance on a Saturday night. he found us a table and advised us of the timings for our meal. Food was amazing and the festive season choices were different and full of flavour. We had the Bruschetta, which was so full of different flavours and the beef short rib wrapped in calzone.

Teníamos pre-reservado y llegamos a tiempo a una cola fuera de la puerta. Cuando finalmente llegamos a hablar con alguien dijimos que habíamos reservado. No se molestó en tomar nuestro nombre o compararlo con cualquier lista de reserva. Curiosamente, todos los demás en la cola parecían haber reservado también. Después de unos minutos nos mostraron a una mesa y nos dejaron con menús. Y se fue. Y se fue. Paramos a alguien y pedimos hacer nuestro pedido. Desaparecieron y regresaron al poco tiempo con otra persona y les dijeron que tomaran nuestra orden. La nueva persona miró su almohadilla y se fue, sin tomar nuestra orden. La primera persona regresó y finalmente tomaron nuestra orden. Llegaron bebidas y esperamos. Y esperó. Y esperó. Finalmente detuvimos a alguien más y le preguntamos cuánto tiempo más duraría nuestra comida. Milagrosamente, apareció inmediatamente. A juzgar por la temperatura de nuestras dos comidas, habían estado sentados esperando ser servidos durante unos minutos. Ninguno de los dos se parecía en nada a las representaciones de los menús y eran abrumadoras, especialmente para el billete de 60 libras que nos presentaron. Huelga decir que no debemos volver. From the moment we arrived the service was poor. We were greeted by a grumpy member of staff who told us we'd used the wrong door! Waited at least 15 minutes to place an order. Waiting staff were monosyllabic and looked unhappy. The place was not busy, which now seems hardly surprising.

Qué horror. Reservamos una mesa y cuando llegamos, nos pidieron que volviéramos más tarde debido a un retraso en la entrega. La entrega estaba en todas partes - cuando volvimos, la entrega de artículos de comida se apilaron / abandonaron en las escaleras a los baños! Larga espera para que tomen nuestra orden. Esperé más de 25 minutos para nuestras bebidas (que tuvimos que preguntar dónde estaban). La mesa de al lado rechazó su pasta debido a que tenía solo 4 pequeños trozos de pollo, y se fue, la mesa del otro lado de nosotros (que llegamos y pedimos después de nosotros) , tenía 1 pizza servida (y medio comido) , pero su otra comida no llegó y todavía no lo había hecho cuando nos fuimos a pesar de que lo pidieron. Después de esperar más de 45 minutos por el nuestro nos rendimos y nos fuimos con hambre. Falta total de comunicación por parte del personal y el gerente a los huéspedes de pago sobre el porqué de la demora. Parecía que solo había 1 chef para un servicio ocupado a la hora del almuerzo, no es ideal para el final de la mitad del período. Tal vez si el gerente o el personal hubiera hablado con los invitados para explicarles la situación, no habrían tenido al menos 3 mesas infelices.

Overall poor experience. Waited 30 mins for the drinks and when the mains came they were cold (1 hour after ordering). Starters were completely forgotten about. Even after we complained and asked for the bill we sat waiting for a further 15 minutes for the manager to authorise removing the cold items from the bill. We had to go straight to the counter in order to pay. Avoid.

Shambles from start to finish. Under staffed. Order took 1 hour to come. When it did was cold and they totally forgot about starters. No apology. No care at all. Barely cared when we complained. Just took food off bill. Never again

Came here with my daughter. Not as good as other Zizzi’s on atmosphere and customer service. Main reason for review is to share info on our passion sparkler. Served in a ridiculously tall glass that could easily topple - filled almost to the brim with large blocks of ice and just a little juice. Take the ice away and the juice filled about 1/4 of the glass at max. An absolute rip off and absolutely not worth £5.25.

Came here with my family on the 14/12/2024 and had an absolutely harrowing experience. We enter the restaurant and was greeted with screaming children and a 10 minute wait for a table, which would be fine at peak time, but at 8pm where we can visibly see that there is free tables just isn’t good enough. We get seated on a table that could possibly do an entire 360 on its hinges, it’s so wobbly. After we get seated we wait almost half an hour for a server to come and take our orders, at which point we were well beyond just drink orders. We ordered and the server was visibly picking his nose throughout the night. I think there was only one server on shift so I don’t want to blame him but one of our glasses had a sticker on it and the cutlery was not polished. We eventually got our food but my entire family received their food 15 minute earlier than me, meaning that i was waiting eating their frankly disgusting, over seasoned pasta bites waiting for my food to come. We ordered 2 Lasagnes, the dirty pig pizza, the salmon risotto, chips and potato’s and the only redeeming factor was the boiled potato’s. the risotto was bland and the salmon was overcooked, the lasagnes were greasy and the pizza was so sickly that he wasn’t able to finish it all. We had to eventually wash it down with the equivalent of a £4 can of diet coke (they didn’t have any other soft drinks in stock). We left with an almost £100 bill for four people with below average food that most of us didn’t even finish. Most other Zizis i’ve been too have been amazing but this one just showed absolutely zero care for the customer, long wait times and average food. Possibly due to them putting less care in on a weeknight but I felt as if I deserved better quality service and food for that price. I will absolutely never come here again and i hope you never do either.

Entramos al restaurante y nos recibieron con niños gritando y una espera de 10 minutos para una mesa, que estaría bien en hora pico, pero a las 8 pm donde podemos ver visiblemente que hay mesas libres simplemente no es lo suficientemente bueno. Nos sentamos en una mesa que posiblemente podría hacer un 360 entero en sus bisagras, es tan tambaleante. Después de sentarnos, esperamos casi media hora a que un servidor venga y tome nuestras órdenes, momento en el que estábamos mucho más allá de solo tomar órdenes. Pedimos y el servidor estuvo visiblemente hurgando su nariz durante toda la noche. Creo que solo había un servidor en el turno, así que no quiero culparlo, pero uno de nuestros vasos tenía una pegatina y los cubiertos no estaban pulidos. Finalmente recibimos nuestra comida, pero toda mi familia recibió su comida 15 minutos antes que yo, lo que significa que estaba esperando comer sus francamente asquerosos bocados de pasta sazonada esperando que llegara mi comida. Pedimos 2 Lasañas, la pizza de cerdo sucia, el risotto de salmón, papas fritas y papas y el único factor de redención fueron las papas hervidas. El risotto era soso y el salmón estaba demasiado cocido, las lasañas eran grasientas y la pizza era tan enfermiza que no pudo terminar todo. Finalmente tuvimos que lavarla con el equivalente a una lata de 4 libras de coca de dieta (no tenían ningún otro refresco en stock). Nos fuimos con un billete de casi £ 100 para cuatro personas con comida por debajo de la media que la mayoría de nosotros ni siquiera terminamos.
