The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

We had a table booked here for my daughters 21st birthday and it was a very good choice. We were sat on one of the balcony areas which overlooked the bustling bar area below. The service was very good and the food and drink were spot on! They even sang happy birthday and gave our daughter a complimentary dessert for her birthday, a nice touch. I would definitely choose this place again over one of the usual chain restaurants.

Comida absolutamente impresionante, muy buenas porciones y carne de calidad increíble. Tenía la hamburguesa especial ciao bella y las patatas fritas especiadas de cajún que eran increíbles. realmente impresionado con el servicio también el camarero que nos sirvió era divertido y nos hizo sentir bienvenidos. realmente disfrutamos de la comida y el servicio (usamos un grupo en vale) y sin duda volveremos!

The food is decent, though nothing remarkable—just what you'd expect from an Italian chain. However, the service was disappointing. It felt like the staff couldn't care less about the customers, unless perhaps you were one of their 'favorites.' When they got my order wrong, there wasn’t even a hint of an apology. This will be my last visit to Bella Italia.

Tasty and delicious treat after a long week!

Craig was a great sever, always smiling and made our afternoon. Couldn’t have asked for more.

We had a group of six and when we arrived at the restaurant in the late afternoon, it was nearly empty. We had no reservation but decided to try it based upon other favorable reviews. The staff sat us in a corner near a door on a very wet & chilly Liverpool afternoon. A few of the ladies were cold and when we asked to be moved, the female employee was not receptive to our request. Smile a little, you work in the service industry. After finally being moved to a warmer part of the restaurant and ordering, the pizzas arrived completely black and burnt on the bottom of the crust. We said something to the waiter and asked him to tell the chef, but he just laughed it off as if we were joking. Another member of our group ordered the Risotto which she said was bland and dried out, almost to the point of being inedible. She only ate a very small part of it. None of us would return to this restaurant. There are too many other options in Liverpool and if the weather was better on this day we might have ended up somewhere diferent.

Lovely food and really good customer service. We had not booked, but despite being busy with Christmas groups, we were given a table - thank you very much. Due to being busy with the pre-booked Christmas parties, there was a little wait for our starters - our server came over and apologised and offered us a complimentary cocktail by way of apology. Really really kind and greatly appreciated! Food we had was: prawns, chicken strips, burata pasta and salmon on pesto risotto - all dishes were lovely. The complimentary cocktail I had was the Lemon drizzle Martini - OMG! Absolutely to die for! We will definitely return

We both enjoyed our meals at the Gunwharf Quays location. The service was excellent and very helpful. The seating inside was comfortable and it wasn't too noisy. There was a reasonable selection on the menu including Burgers. Pizzas and Hot Dogs. Both our meals were cooked perfectly and when we settled the bill we mentioned we had a 10% discount as guests of the nearby Holiday Inn. The server got a better deal for us which was unexpected and very generous. It would be good if, post covid, a few more Frankie & Bennies opened because family diners are rare these days.

Recently had our works Xmas do here. The food was amazing. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff too. My partner became unwell and felt very faint. The young girl who was serving us couldn't do enough for us. She brought him some water and even called first aiders in just incase. Luckily they weren't needed. I can't thank the staff enough. What a great night! Would definitely go here again .

Oh wow what a lovely room upstairs for a family get together. There was 19 of us including 8 children aged 1-14 & it was brilliant. Food amazing and service by Mimi was amazing.

Nice place in cold winter evening. Starters are better then main. Limon cheescake was medium. Apreol was perfect.....

Apparently you can’t order PLAIN PASTA for a toddler in ask ITALIAN. also we turned up slightly early and couldn’t go in for a drink before even though there was 20 free tables. My mums pasta came and it was as dry as a bone. Can’t fault the staff they were great. Not their fault. Just a few ridiculous moments
