Other restaurants take note! £8.95 for a 3 course dinner menu, I would of happily paid double! Food was amazing, fresh and tasty. I will definitely be back.

I have eaten here twice, each time I received excellent service and food. The meals are well prepared and presented. the portions are generous. The staff are always polite and attentive. I would certainly recommend this establishment to any one looking for a really good place to eat.

Came for my oldest daughters 7th birthday It was only me my boyfriend and our 3 girls we absolutely loved it food was amazing me and my partner for parmo and chips so did our oldest our youngest 2 got chicken nuggets and chips and had a bit of my parmo. Service was great and fast we will definitely be coming back in the future 😄🍽️

Excellent value and food was really good but the restaurant is very bright in lighting certainly not a romantic place. The service was also very attentive and quick the guys did a great job serving us. Highly recommend definitely return

Visited with a friend for an overdue catch up the food was good I started with potatoes skins and she has prawns both were ok but the potatoes skins need to be more crispy for main I had Parma and she had the calzone the calzone was a little over filled with filling but other than that standard we asked to order dessert to be told more that half the desserts were missing due to a freezer going down so we needed up caving sticking toffee pudding what was good but didn’t make up for the lack of choice this place is a good min week place to eat is us not wanting to pay 60-100 each for food

Great atmosphere very roomy food lovely We had starters of potato skins and for main a Bolognese pizza and a parmesan Pizza was a good size for being part of the happy hour deal great taste Parmo was lovely good size very good taste wise chicken very thick and good quality enough bechamel sauce and cheese to complement the chicken The staff was friendly helpful and attentive It was excellent. WOW! If you havent been to Novello Ristorante in Middlesbrough youre missing out! Myself and partner visited yesterday in our search for some good grub after a weekend at Hardwick festival and it did not dissapoint! From the clean, spacious inviting interior to the friendly knowledable staff and ofcourse the amazing tasty food the whole visit was a huge positive from start to finish. The menu states to ask staff about gluten free options which our server was very clued up on and talked us through what they offer ie GF pizza and pasta options and what items from the menu can be adapted. I opted for a GF veggie pizza with added jalps and chilli flakes - quite the kick 🔥 with a side of veggies. They offer chips GF as they will cook them in a seperate pan👌 My partner did not order GF but said his ham and mushroom parmo was unreal and we both agreed without hesitation we will 100% return 💥

We called in for a family lunch before some of them went to the friendly match at the riverside. We all got the 2 course happy hour starter and main which remains great value, I had the spaghetti novello for main and it was really tasty, a nice balance of flavours. The staff were all also really friendly and polite, especially the guy who took our order, he was super polite and just had an overall good attitude. The only downside was the dismal choice of music for pretty much the entirety of the time we were there. Getting the music right in an italian restaurant is so easy, just some muzak or slightly suspect rat pack covers playing gently in the background is ideal, the music in somewhere like this should be like bland and inoffensive wallpaper and barely noticeable. Instead they were piping out relentless angry rap music, broken only occasionally by 'songs' heavy on grating autotune and pulsing basslines. It's a restaurant at one in the afternoon, not a sleazy nightclub at 2 am, please adjust accordingly and it ruins the otherwise lovely atmosphere of this place.

We popped in for the £8.95 3 course lunch special & to be honest we weren’t expecting the food or the portion sizes to be any good. However, we were pleasantly surprised….. We really couldn’t fault our experience from start to finish. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, the tables are beautifully set, & the decor is modern & tasteful. You can visibly see that a lot of care & attention has gone into every aspect of the establishment. The staff never stop, they are friendly, hard-working people who genuinely care about the customers, often taking the time to chat with them which is rare. Nothing is too much trouble. They deserve some recognition as on our visit we found some of the customers to be quite rude. The staff were very professional & attentive throughout our meal. We opted for the potato skins & bruschetta starter. The potato skins were served with two lovely dips & were plentiful, the bruschetta was heavily topped & flavoursome. Our pizzas were massive & full of delicious toppings. The ice cream was really nice too & the perfect way to finish a perfect meal. All of the food was served piping hot & was undeniably delicious. The portion sizes were huge & well worth the money. You’d struggle to find better value anywhere else is town. Can’t wait to come back & sample some more delicious food & maybe some cocktails next time.

Visited with family for a leaving meal for my son. It was a joke from start to finish!Table was booked for 7 we arrived on time and had to wait in the doorway for around 10 minutes till our table was ready. Tried to get a drink at the bar but told it was table service only. Waited half an hour for our drinks order to be taken, then one drink was missing. Waited a further 10 minutes after this for our food order to be taken. Everyone's meals came an hour later except mine they forgot about mine. Waited another 20 minutes by which time everyone had finished their meals. When my food arrived it was lovely but was left eating on my own. They did take this off the bill along with the 4 parmos that were sent back as they were cold in the middle. Very short staffed so it wasn't the waitresses fault they were very apologetic but we won't be back again.

Poor food. If I didn’t know better I’d say it was cheap cuts of meat & pisspoor cheap sauces out of a jar. This place is so far behind Uno Momento it beggars belief.

On a romantic meal the waiter dropped a tray full of glasses which resulted in wife cutting her leg. The never cleaned up the glass properly, no apology, nothing won't be going back again Can't blame waitress that was dealing with usshe was run off she left on her own the management failed to support her. Starters were nice, pizza wasn’t very nice the tomato sauce on the bottom just wasn’t very nice made the pizza taste strange but the staff where so rude! Considering it was quite they took ages to take orders and when we wanted our starter plates taken they just completely ignored us to stand on there phones.. or to stand behind the bar eating and speaking to each other.. there may not of been many people in there but the people who were in there weren’t getting very good service..

Was greeted by a gentleman who took us to a table then was immediately asked for drinks which I like, after getting our drinks we ordered, 2 pizzas and a portion of fries wait time was about 20-25 it was very busy. Out came the food with missing fries which we had to wait a extra 10 minutes for, I asked for salt and pepper and got ignored, asked again they gave it to me instantly. Meal overall was nice. Asked for the bill got ignored again waited 5 minutes walked up to the desk and paid, overall we may have just caught them on a bad night!

1st time at this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint, fast service huge portions of delicious tasty food, staff were friendly and helpful it was early evening and only a few tables in but full when we left. Nice selection of drinks and offers on cocktails Will definitely return, they even do 1/2 pasta and 1/2 pizza so you can mix it up.

Probably the busiest i have seen it although wasnt overly busy. The drinks service was slow, that the reason i only give it 4 star, we received starter before our drinks. The food is amazing great value for money, i had an huge parmo cooked lush, crispy on bottom and melts in mouth. Although my wife had an english breakfast which we advised her not too, she wasnt impressed and felt she missed out. She had some of my parmo and friends pizza. Starter was gorgeos potatoe skins. Food was fast but drinks slow but i do love this place.

It's good to be eating out again and Uno Ristorante certainly did not disappoint with this meal. Italian is always our go to choice and when deciding where to go for this meal our choice was easy having had so many good meals from here in the past. Everything felt very covid-secure from walking through the door and we were more than happy to comply with the requirements of the restaurant which were pleasantly communicated by the staff.We both went for the Penne Salsiccia which turned up at the table as a beautifully cooked al dente pasta laden with salsiccia sausage and a fresh tomato based sauce. This was accompanied by a side order of nicely battered onion rings and a nice thin garlic pizza bread. We did initially order a side of curly fries but these were unfortunately unavailable however the plain fries arrived at the table piping hot. The staff were attentive to our needs without being over bearing which was appreciated and allowed us to enjoy this delicious meal in peace.The biggest smile of the night probably came on the arrival of our bill which even afforded us some change from £30 which was quite astonishing for both the quality and quantity of food we'd just enjoyed. Thank you to Uno Ristorante for a lovely evening sharing some delicious food in a great, chilled out atmosphere. We will be back!

Absolutely delicious starting from the fast service to the wonderful food and dessertsI have been there with friends to try some Italian food We had calamari and mussels marinara and garlic bread cheese as starterAnd we had pasta , pizza and fillet for main course We also had some desserts and I was really astonished by the whole experience and I am really proud to have such good restaurant in my area and I really recommend it

Obviously I have not been for a year, I was glad to be back, service was not back to normal yet and one of the dishes we had came cold, the place was busy which was good to see. We were going to have dessert but knew it would take too long and they needed the table. I will wait a few months before I return.

Visited this restaurant with my husband for our wedding anniversary. Was looking forward to our first meal out in a long time but unfortunately I was really disappointed with the whole meal.My pate starter was served with a chutney which tasted like pure salt , then to make things worse there was a hair in my pasta dish.My husband ordered muscles and half would not open and the rest lacked the chilli taste they were supposed to have.Have visited this restaurant before on a few occasions but after this last visit I will not be returning

We have been several times and always had a lovely meal . Terrible experience today! Seated on a table in the corner to be left for 15 minutes before any one asked us if we would like to order a drink. Two customers came in after us and were given table service straight away and ordered drinks before us. I had to approach the waiter to order our drinks to which he apologised and explained the drinks would be “on the house” which turned out were added to our bill! Our starters arrived with a garlic bread Which we did not order. We explained we did not order this & they reassured us it would be taken off our bill. My steak arrived and was full of fat was not nice atall. Upon paying our bill I checked the receipt and the drinks that were supposed to be on the house were actually NOT on the house and the garlic bread that we did not order and did not eat was also added to our bill! Absolutely terrible customer service from UNO today and unfortunately we will not be returning.

We visited last Monday and Monday just gone and on both occasions the food and service was amazing. We have been regulars here for years but the place just gets better and better. We are always well looked after and it is so fantastic to see some of the young staff getting the opportunity to run shifts. In terms of Covid guidelines it is fantastic. All of the team are onboard and it is a safe but relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend

Went in for dinner on the £10 dine out deal, it was very busy, very clean as always, most staff had masks, it was a very hot nigh. I had steak it was beautiful, cooked perfectly to my liking, Staff very busy but still friendly, service was good and not rushed.

Visited tonight as part of the Eat out to help out. Nice to see hand sanitiser, tables well spaced out and waiters wearing ppe. We have been coming here for years and never had one complaint. As usual the food and service were spot on, my only problem was choosing what to eat from the brilliant choices. I didn't have room for pudding tonight but would recommend the Tiramisu.

two Of us came for an evening meal this week and were very disappointed. The place was very busy and despite making a reservation they didn’t know anything about our booking. There was no social distancing and staff did not have any type of ppe. We were seated upstairs, in a dark corner and it felt more like a ’caf’ than a restaurant with pictures half hanging off walls and dirty tables and floors. Took ages before we were given menus and about 15 minutes to get a drink, with a further 10 minutes to get a glass for the drink. I can not fault the staff as they were very friendly and helpful, there just wasn’t enough of them for the number of customers so they were ran off their feet. The food was ‘ok’, rather poorly presented and the Chips served with our main meals were black, looked like they had been cremated but tasted ok. When we asked for the bill we were told it would be waiting for us at the till so we didn’t get an opportunity to look at it. Trying to get to the till was a social distance nightmare as it’s located at the bottom of the stairs, right next to the main entrance so the area gets congested with bodies. There was about 10 people at the bottom of the stairs trying to pay their bills as we were trying to get down so we couldn’t get past them. I have been here before and really enjoyed it but on this occasion was very disappointed and felt there was insufficient staff and insufficient measures in place to maintain social distancing. To reduce the amount of congestion around the front door and till area I would strongly suggest customers pay their bills at their tables; if you don’t do this then ask that one person from a group goes to the counter to pay the bill and ask for their friends and family to remain seated or wait outside instead of congregating around the till. Also suggest you have customers coming into the restaurant stand on one side and those leaving on the opposite side

The best Italian in town! Service is always first class and the food matches it. Would not eat anyway else in Middlesbrough.

We visited Uno with our 2 children and were slightly apprehensive for our first post lockdown meal out. Uno's tables were spread out and there was plenty of hand sanitiser available, which put us at ease. The food was delicious, our son loved his so much that he asked for a second helping! Every staff member that spoke to us was very attentive and they all made a fuss of the children. It is definitely worth a visit not just for the food but the excellent service.

Visited without booking and they were able to seat us both. Tables spaced out and staff wearing face masks. Felt very safe throughout stay. And the food was as good as ever!

It was a family get together for my husbands birthday, it was our first time although our son and his wife have been before. We ordered a starter and main from the 'happy hour menu'. For starters we ordered; mussels, goats cheese, calamari, loaded wedges and chicken wings. Mains ordered; black ravioli, linguine al fruitti di mare, risotto bella vista, chicken parmo, chicken pizza and steak. All the dishes were delicious and we will definitely be returning. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Stopped by on the off chance of getting a table on a Saturday night. We were lucky enough to get one. Both ordered pizza and they came very quickly. They were both great. Really tasty. Service was good and really enjoyed the evening. Worth a visit

I had the smoked salmon and prawn starter with salad and mango sauce, I can honestly say it is the best ever starter I’ve ever had it was delicious. The staff are so friendly and efficient. My partner had the prawn cocktail which was delicious too and our chicken pasta dishes were lovely! Keep up the good work we will be back

Found a hair in my food, politely told the waitress who brought the manager over, he then proceeded to tell me there was no one with that type of hair in the kitchen even though there is waitresses with their hairs around food. His attitude was awful as he basically tried to tell me the hair was mine in such an argumentative way. I wouldn’t usually complain however a few months back I had small bugs in my salad which he also tried to claim the salad is washed therefore there’s no way the bugs were from the kitchen?? There’s obviously a serious attitude problem to argue back with customers. Plenty of better places to eat with much better service.

The restaurant is very hit and miss with thee food quality on out last visit the food was well cook were were a table of four we all ordered starters and then half pizza half pasta the paste was cook just right and pizza was good two but on other visits the paste had been very under cooked and uneducable how every there always great service and nice to see the same faces when visiting and the waiter isn’t bad to look at earthier

Visited here over Xmas and all you see is waiters running around and dumping food everywhere on tables. Not relaxing at all, menu is a misleading also

We came back here to celebrate a birthday as we had for some years. Two for 1 on cocktails. The two course meal was as usual good standard, decent portions, tasty, I went for the prawns cornets and 4 cheese pizza. It came to the birthday cake, which I asked to be put on a plate and have some writing on saying happy birthday. It turned up out the box, no drums and singing, in fact I wasn't aware it was coming. We sat and waiting for bit, eventually asked for a knife and ended up with some serviettes to dish it up on.Wasn't a fabulous experience, felt rushed and less personal than it normally does.

Great food, excellent service, very clean and a nice atmosphere. Felt very relaxed dining here and although this was Sunday afternoon the place was quite full. We opted for the dishes in the photographs but they do a 2 course Sunday lunch for £10.00 where you can have a starter or dessert to go with main. We didn’t choose this purely because we avoid Sunday lunches in the run up to Xmas.

Called in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The 2 course happy hour works out really good value. The mozzarella I had for starter was nice and the calzone I had for the main was the best calzone I've had in some time, perfectly cooked and very tasty

Friendly engaging staff. Nice clean ambiance. Very good food. My penne pasta dish was slightly undercooked (just a tad to firm), but nonetheless flavorful and not oversized. My guests' dishes were very good also (parmigiana), a wonderful combination of moistness, crispiness and cheezy deliciousness. I would definitely return.

The menu doesn't specify but this place is great for gluten free. Really helpful and knowledgeable when asked what dishes were available and more than happy to modify to accommodate coeliac's. Got a great gluten free cheese garlic bread for starter and a chicken dish with chips that was all delicious and gluten free. Most things on the menu were accessible as they offer gluten free pasta and pizza bases. Great value at 11.95 for two courses. Wish they advertised the gluten free better on the menu as I would have been sooner!

Unbelievable value for money 7.95 for 2 courses. I dont have a clue why its not packed on a saturday afternoon. Loads of choice pizza was lush and potatoe skins. Most of us had the pizza, some burgers and some parmos but service was brilliant. So friendly the staff really looked after you. Definately be going again.

Always a warm welcome here, love the food and all but one of the staff are perfect, you feel like you are coming to see old friends.

Second visit to this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. Food was tasty as was the house wine. Desserts to die for. £90 including tip for 5 of us having 3 courses each with a bottle of house wine and other drinks. Excellent service. Will definitively visit again.

Went for lunch today. Half pizza and half pasta, extremely tasty, good portion size and only £6.95 each. Washed down with 2 pints of lager and a coke . All for £25 for 2 people. Great attentive staff. Highly recommend

We ate here twice over the Easter weekend - took advantage of the special offer of two courses for £7.95. First night hubby had mussels for starters and I had the deep fried goat cheese, both excellent. Then we both had pizzas which were HUGE!! Second night hubby had the smoked salmon and I had potato skins, again fresh and plentiful and yes, have to admit, we both had pizza again! The staff were very friendly and the service was really great. Would definitely recommend.

We went early on a Friday, making use of the happy hour deals as myself and my boyfriend are in education and have to keep a tight budget. Total bill came to £34 and we were well fed. Ordered the calamari and bread mozzarella for starters, chicken alla crema and traditional parmo for mains, with a cheese and garlic pizza bread for the side. 2 pints of coke. Our only complaint was that the calamari seemed rubbery compared to the past, but it was still okay so didn't bother complaining. Service is extremely quick, might make you question how fresh the food is, but we were in and out within 50 minutes. Overall it's not the highest of quality, but its a local favourite for us, and very cheap for a decent experience. 8/10

Went here on Saturday 30th March to meet with a friend and we had a lovely time. The food is always great here as is the service! I can never remember what any of our servers are (I do apologise) but it's the same friendly faces who greet me each time I dine there. The place is very cheap too which is unexpected for how great the food / drinks and service are. Definitely one of my favorite places in Middlesbrough!

This restaurant was recommended by a work colleague and it was exactly as described. It is a modern, clen place with a relaxed atmosphere. The food was good and very well priced. I would be happy to go again.

I've been to Uno 3 or 4 times now and each time the food has been delicious. I've had Pizza and Pasta dishes, as a vegetarian the choice and quality you get is not always that good but in Uno it is great. We've ended up there during very busy periods and the staff and customer service has been excellent. Definitely one of my favourite places to eat in Middlesbrough.

Today my colleague and I brought two of our service users for lunch. Both are wheelchair users with complex needs. When asked if the restaurant were able to accommodate their needs (blended food) they advised that they hadn't done it before but would be happy to help.

We recently hosted a company conference at the Middlesbrough Restaurant for over 50 guests. The staff were so welcoming and helpful all evening, Memet the manager was fantastic from our first meeting to us leaving the restaurant on the evening. Nothing was a problem for any of the staff, the food was great and over all a really good evening.

Came here last night with 14 friends for my birthday tea..cannot fault this place in any way!!!! From the friendly efficient staff,nothing was too much trouble,service was fantastic!! We visited early January on a Friday evening around 6pm, the restaurant was fairly busy but not overcrowded. Staff were great and food waiting times were short, food as always was delicious, hot and fresh. I would certainly recommend UNO Ristorante.

Me and my friend went today and we found the whole experience absolutely amazing ! The waiter was so lovely and welcoming and friendly we felt at ease straight away the managers were both in and they kept checking up on us having a crack on and making us feel so welcome and we came quite late in the evening but they were so nice and friendly didn’t make us feel like they didn’t want us there! This is my first time here the place looks beautiful and so elegantly presented the vibe was lovely and calm and the whole atmosphere was just so inviting! I got the penne polli and the pizza kiev and it was beautifully presented and tasted so flavoursome! They even give us a complimentary dish of toasted bread and olives which I thought was lovely! My friend got the arriabata and she thoroughly enjoyed it! Definitely somehwere I would go again and definitely would recommend to everyone to give it a try you won’t be disappointed ! X

Said my seven year old son, chuffed to bits that I’d let him have a ‘grown-up’ pizza. Given it was only £4.95 due to happy hour, I thought I’d let him live out his hopes and dreams. He finished it as well! Great unplanned meal out- my first family visit to Middlesbrough and a fantastic welcome. Great food (2 pizzas, one speciality pasta, garlic break & salad), astonishingly good value for money and excellent, attentive and friendly service. Having previously been to the Yarm Ristorante a few times, I was a little disappointed with my visit to Middlesbrough. My pizza was supposed to be spicy, but wasn't. Also my friends pasta sauce was bland and didn't have the nice fresh tomato flavour we would have expected.

We visited here last night for the first time and we will be returning. The service from the waiters was brilliant. Two waiters stood out from the rest....the youngest two. Nothing was too much trouble for them, one went above and beyond for us all. His manners and service were impeccable. We were in a group of 15 and all our starters and mains were all brought at the exact same time....and the food was beautiful 10/10. Well done uno on delivering excellent customer service skills it goes a long way!

Me and my family have been going to this place for a while and its never disapointed us once great food and staff, dont let anyone tell them its your birthday because they come out with bongos and sing happy birthday which if fun unless its your birthday. Prices are great theres 3 happy hour menu's which run sunday to thursday.

We go to the restaurant weekly so it seemed the obvious choice for my sisters birthday. Always excellent service and the food is amazing. We are always well looked after. Would highly recommend 👍

Love this place and it's food so thought I'd try Sunday dinner, just two courses for £9.99. you can choose any starter or desert plus a choice of chicken or beef.

The company and pleasant service made up for what is very average food of fairly poor quality. At least a third of the mussels in my starter were closed and shouldn’t have been served and half in my partner’s seafood linguine were closed too. The crispy prawn starter looked straight out of an Iceland catering pack.

Popped in here for an impromptu dinner.

As I stayed in Middlesbrough, I went to this restaurant twice. Had calzone and dessert the first time and a pasta the second time. Both were not bad at all and surely good value for money. Don't understand the bad reviews some people leave here. Was I simply lucky or were they unlucky?

Called in with my sister Friday night, hadn't booked and was busy but soon got table for two.

very friendly staff, very helpful, good quality food freshly cooked. good selection of dishes, parmo's very popular. pizza very tasty.

Extensive menu; lots of offers; reasonable drinks charges; staff fantastic with young children. Will definitely be returning soon!
