Estuve aquí con amigos antes y siempre la pasé muy bien, pero el otro día vine a almorzar sola y las cosas fueron aún mejor. El personal no me acosaba ni me interrumpía constantemente, pero se aseguraron de que tuviera todo lo que necesitaba y pude ver que me estaban vigilando. Todos fueron maravillosos y muy serviciales cuando se trataba de mi comida (pedí la sopa) ya que soy vegano, así que hice algunos ajustes. Los procedimientos de Covid y la limpieza general del lugar no tienen fallas y el pago / factura también fue muy fácil. No sé el nombre de la camarera rubia que me atendió, pero fue maravillosa y me hizo sentir muy cómoda, ya que a veces me estreso un poco al comer fuera, ¡lo que hace que la experiencia sea mucho más agradable!

así que vinimos a tomar un par de copas, miramos el menú y era increíble, ¡así que decidimos comer! ¿Pizza estaba fuera de esto? Pizza was very very good and it had good we’ll paced service. The chocolate volcano cake was delicious. We will be back and highly recommend it for families and friends.

The pasta and pizza was amazing! The pizza was big with fresh grated cheese that was carefully sprinkled. The pasta had real meat and was drowned in just the right amount of sauce. For dessert there was volcano cake with creamy , warm and chocolatey filling! And another fantastic dessert was the sticky toffee pudding. It had a warm , creamy sauce with delicious ice cream all for a reasonably good prices! I would recommend this for any hungry person that wants a deal and an amazing lunch/tea!

I eat here fairly regularly, and it never fails to disappoint.. after every visit I always think I should go on trip advisor and just give the place some love. I haven’t managed that yet, but I was just sitting at my desk reflecting on another absolute triumph of a pizza that I had at Dat Bar last Friday, and decided it was time to give some kudos.. Hands down the best pizza going in the North East - probably some of the best pizza I’ve had anywhere in actual fact. The key thing is the sourdough bases which are so consistent, the perfect balance of a nice soft chewy centre and a bit of a crisp outer with just the right amount of bite.Great selection, and combinations of flavours for some of the toppings as well.. they haven’t needed to do anything gimmicky, just great flavours. I tend to keep it fairly simple with a Margherita (the true measure of an excellent pizza) but stuff like the ‘Salsicce’ and ‘crudaiola’ are also go to’s for me.It’s also just a really relaxed and informal environment, and all the staff are sound. Keep doing what you’re doing Dat Bar. I love it

El único problema que tuve fue que pedí una hamburguesa de res y me preguntaron cómo lo quería y especifiqué raro. Cuando llegó, me pareció más bien hecho, pero supongo que es subjetivo, todavía sabía muy bien.

Had the lunchtime set menu. Excellent value for money for two courses. The sour dough pizza was amazing. Great atmosphere too! Highly recommended.

I've been a couple of times recently the food itself is really nice and the staff if you get a nice staff member they will really help you with everything but if you come on the hour you may get a staff member that is changing shifts and they just don't want to help you out. The restaurant is nice with nice decor the beer selection is quite good, will be back again as there wasn't any major faults wit this place.

My Wife and I had some food and drinks prior to a theatre visit, and were very impressed indeed.

ordered 3 burgers and a pizza. the waitress didn't write the order down and said she could remember the order. Impressed with her we ordered. She coudlnt have been more wrong. the 3 burgers were all wrong. 2 of them were burnt. This was the worst burger I've had in a long time. I asked for no tomato and I got tomato. after 8 hours on a coach all I wanted was a good meal and this wasn't the place the place to go. Will come back to Newcastle but never this place.

Me and my friends are in Newcastle for the Newcastle v Brighton game tomorrow 21/09/19. We have had a few beers. So by now can eat anything really. We came into Daybar. Looked nice. Staff were good. BUT the burgers were disgusting, this is after a few beers when normally you’d eat anything. But they wasn’t nice what so ever! Burnt, no taste. Plus the waitress didn’t write down our order, we think that’s why she got it wrong!

My wife and i were going to a show at the Theatre Royal so were looking for somewhere close by for a meal . I suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome and cannot tolerate ordinary bread and pizza base , however i am ok with sourdough and noticed that dAtbAr used sourdough pizza bases so decided to give it a try . First impressions were ok , 4.30 pm on a Saturday afternoon in Newcastle it was expected to be busy and it was but got a drink at the bar quick enough , no draught bitter ( bitter not trendy ! ) but the Amstel lager was very nice . Went to get a table and there was plenty choice of seating , good choice on menu and reasonably priced . I ordered a Capriciosa pizza £10 and my wife ordered a Margherita £8 , Chunky fries an americano coffee and another lager , it all arrived fairly qiuckly and was very good , sourdough base thin and crisp with plenty topping , Chunky fries crisp on outside and light on inside , and a good Coffee . I then asked what soft drinks were available (I was driving so had already had 1/2 lager and a coffee ) , the waitress was very helpful and i settled on an Orange cordial with water ( wife had more lager !) . We got the bill and were surprised how reasonable it was . All in all a very pleasant experience , good food , good service and good value , yes it was noisy at times and the decor may not be to everyones taste but it's a modern bar/restaurant in the middle of Newcastle so it's going to be lively sometimes . And no bad after effects on my digestive system ! I would definetly recommend dAtbAr and not hesitate to return which is more than can be said for the Theatre Royal,(the most uncomfortable cramped theatre we have ever been to but that's another review )

Pedimos una Joes burguer y una Moto burguer, ambas muy ricas, buen pan, excelente hamburguesa casera, ricas salsas y unas buenas papas fritas acompañando. Además pedí una copa de vino chileno

A great welcome from friendly and attentive staff, they offered a choice of drinks from the craft beer menu but equally happy to get you anything on draft from the bar. The pizzas are heaven, proper sourdough and recommend the extra artichokes on anything !! Good work everyone!!

Acabo de regresar de un almuerzo familiar que fue el valor de craqueo el 7. 95 menú de 2 platos para el almuerzo. Came along about 7pm on a snowy friday night!! Chose to have a Ava Rose pizza (which was really good). With a beer and cocktail the bill came to just over £21 so a nice cheap evening. Been a while since ive been but as good as usual.

This place is well decorated. It wasn’t very busy but it was Sunday tea time. A good array drinks. Worth a visit.

First visit last Friday as a party of three late last week. We were welcomed and seated in a comfortable booth. The place had a nice relaxed atmosphere. I opted for an Ava Rose Pizza. The dough was delicious as were the toppings which included a really tasty beef ragu. I had a side of shoestring fries served in a bucket which were again really good. The table sauces included a tomato/barbeque/smoky sauce (exclusive to dAt bAr) which was delicious. Prices were reasonable and location in the city centre was ideal. I would happily visit again when in Newcastle - strongly recommended. It would be an idea place to go with friends for food and drink prior to a night out.

Popped in for a glass of wine before going to the ballet. Quirky decor, friendly staff and a great vibe. Would imagine it could get quite lively in the evenings. A great bar.

I wanted to visit Dat because it's the same name as a bar from near my hometown in Illinois. I wanted a quick, small bite, so I ordered one pork slider and a half pint of ale and it hit the spot. The atmosphere in there is kind of cool, so would recommend it for a place to socialize, eat, and drink.

Popped in for a couple of craft keg beers, chatted with Jake and Patrick who delivered amazing service and knowledge. The takeout deal was great and I took full advantage of it. x

A great selection of interesting beers plus decent pizza made this an enjoyable visit. The beef dripping chips tasted nice but were a bit dry inside, only a minor annoyance though.

Sirven una interesante (no barata) gama de cervezas, de las cuales probé un par (Lervig & Box Social). Un personal amable y un ambiente animado para una experiencia que vale la pena.

La comida era de primera categoría. Tuve una pizza y batatas fritas que estaban deliciosas. Hay una amplia selección de cervezas artesanales con recomendaciones del personal según las preferencias. En general, el servicio fue muy bueno, el personal fue atento, aunque tuvimos que esperar un rato para recibir la factura, ya que la camarera que nos quitó los platos parecía haber olvidado nuestra solicitud, pero esto fue resuelto rápidamente por otra camarera. Aparte de eso, tuvimos una gran comida y definitivamente volveré a visitar cuando esté en Newcastle.

Hamburguesas realmente extravagantes y fantásticas (tuvimos una oferta de comida en ellos) además de los chips de grasa eran impresionantes! El gf y yo nos dirigimos al concierto de Ed y lo llamamos aquí para tomar una cerveza antes de que hubiera una gran selección de cervezas y luego nos dirigimos a buscar comida en otro lugar, después de que todos los demás no dejaban entrar a la gente por comida debido a que estaban llenos. Visited here for tea the other month. Had the early bird offer which was very reasonable. Had aranchini to start and a lovely pizza for main. Great food and good atmosphere here too! Nice big booths to sit at.

fantastic place, friendly staff, everything homemade. Super Irish butcher for the burgers and pulled pork dishes. Good menu choice and me being lactose free there was no problem at all. Lovely tasty food, 3 children had pizzas which looked good and the adults tasted the different sliders of burgers etc. Friendly helpful staff. Would probably be best to book in advance in the evening as its a popular restaurant.

I went into town with my wife who was watching an Agatha Christie play at the Theatre Royal round the corner. I had a very nice glass of Malbec with good service in a pleasant atmosphere. I would certainly visit there again, especially since the toilets were exemplary and decor and seating was very acceptable.

From Liverpool on a weekend stay, had dinner here.....Great food, cooked fresh and at reasonable price too. Service was good, food came out quickly and over all atmosphere was nice. Our only regret was not going back before we left to come home.

I came for drinks, and especially the good beer selection they had on. It was a fun little place, and I thought they had some great beers at reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend for a few drinks! (Can't comment on the food, because I didn't eat there)

Burgers & pizzas are superb, but as usual the beer made it exceptional. Almost had a sweet as they looked awesome but just couldn't manage it.

Had a pretty poor experience here, was happy to see vegan options but they were really disappointing. The risotto was undercooked and super tasteless. Waitress didn’t check how the food was until the end of the meal either so didn’t have a chance to swap the dish with another, which I would have liked to have done instead of the dish being taken off the bill. The place seems nice however, seems like the dish was just a bad option

Pizzas are surprisingly good, the Ava Rose with ragu is amazing. Good price as well, especially on the happy hour menu. Totally recommend

this place is a good decent place, wish i could give it a high ranking but for me it was just average.

Do you ever promise yourself you'll try something else on the menu next time you go to a restaurant, but keep ordering the same thing because it's so good? That's the crudaiola pizza for me. I love nice bread and the crust on their pizzas are fantastic, plus you can tell the quality of the toppings.

This place was very busy and was a good way to get a drink or two. The selection was very good and the prices were on par too.

I'd suggested we meet up here as I'd enjoyed it so much the last time and was keen to try more things on the menu. We went for the set menu which was great value for £7.95 with generous portions. We all had the Arancini rice balls which were delicious and I had the Orecchiete ragu which was so rich and tasty that the meat just melted in your mouth and my friends really enjoyed their burger and pizza. The staff are really friendly and the waitress suggested we try a new bottle of vegan wine they'd just got in and we enjoyed it so much we had a second. If you haven't tried it already you have to go as you don't know what you're missing.

Tried to find somewhere with a january discount but failed (gustos let us down) so decided to bring parents to one of our favourites. We arrived about 4.45pm so managed to get a booth easily. As been before I advised no starter so we ordered 2 pizzas (shin beef with ham & mushroom) & a burger. All were greatly enjoyed!! I love the sourdough bases. Staff friendly & helpful with our wine queries. Bill came to just over £52 but worth it. By the time we left at 6pm it had filled up quite abit too. Would recommend.

We chose 2 dishes and a vegan beer/wine for £15. There was a lot of dishes to choose from, but on the regular menu they also have vegetarian and meat dishes. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere in the restaurant although the decor was quite dark. I would definitely recommend to go and try some delicious vegan food!

I've wound up here a lot because I have friends who really like it or are at least comfortable going here. I've had great experiences here where my waiting staff have been awesome and have tipped to reflect this, also had terrible times with cold food and late food and no food! It's hit and miss. Had 4 and 2 star experiences

dAt bAr must be feeling the pinch with the new restaurants in Eldon Square. We visited on a Wednesday lunchtime and it was fairly quiet and I think it may be at this time of year a lot of people will not venture out of the shopping mall if the weather isn't very good. However, they are missing out on a bit of an unusual place to dine. The staff are very pleasant and the food is excellent. The decoration is certainly unusual and the tables are properly spaced out and comfortable. We have tried various things on the menu, with some "different" choices, but once we both had tried the sliders we tend to go for them when we dine here. 2 or 3 of them with a side order make a hearty meal for us and I must admit i like sweet potato fries and they do them here better than most places. The wine we like happens to be the cheapest on the wine list but at something like £16 it's an excellent wine at a good price. We dine out in Newcastle quite a lot and this is one of the places we consider returning to on a regular basis.

I was charged £14 for a pint and a double G&T; on Saturday. I expect to pay a lot for City centre prices and premium gin but I would like that gin to be good. Unfortunately the glass didn't look particularly clean and the tonic was flat and tasteless. I won't be going back.

Excellent value for money. The place is lively and the staff very friendly and helpful. There are deals galore and the food was delicious. Not high end but cheap and cheerful and just what we wanted.

Lunch with my daughter opting for the liver parfait for starter which was to die for! We then both had different pizzas which were thin and crispy and so so tasty. Washed down with a long cocktail each was perfect.

Was here for the second time with friends for food and again the burgers where amazing , my friends potato wedges where a little hard inside but it was no problem for the staff they sorted them out in a few minutes ... recommend this place !

I'd been in for lunchtime cocktails but never eaten so it seemed a good opportunity to drop in before going to see Young Frankenstein. Luckily we went early as it started to fill up not long after we arrived as I think a lot of people had the same idea as us. The waitresses were friendly and took our drinks/food orders swiftly as we'd already had a peek at the menu outside so knew what we wanted. There is lots to choose from and both our burgers arrived cooked as we'd asked and were very tasty and the fries/thick cut chips were piping hot - the pizzas looked good too. They have an interesting selection of cocktails, spirits and craft beers to please everyone so ideal if you want to have more than a flying visit.

I've visited here more times than I can remember for both food and drink and the quality and service has always been great. They have an amazing selection of beers though I'm more of a wine drinker- I found their old selection of wines very vinegary and I had to be careful about which I ordered but they have now been replaced with a new selection which are much better and suit the price tag. I particularly like coming here for the food offers which include 2 for £10 on pizzas, burgers and pastas through the week.I'd definitely recommend!

Asked what the difference is between the two Schneider beers, was told one is a bit more fruity the other a bit more wheaty. Ordered the fruity one thinking sounds good for a first drink of the day, turns out it's a 12% Bock i paid £7 for. You could have spent a bit less time on the over the top new age decor and more time on informing your barmaids of the poisons your fine establishment sells.

A big group of us out for a party went to make use of the special food deal they have going here. The food was fantastic, however, because of the way they set the bill out, it was a little confusing and we thought we may have been over charged. We asked the waitress about it, who also agreed and kindly took the bill away to recalculate. After a few minutes, her college (maybe the manager), came back with another bill, which had actually been INCREASED by a few pounds! When we queried this again, her unfriendly attitude suggested that we were completely in the wrong and she was extremely unapologetic. We asked to pay the original bill, which we actually have the right to ask, but were refused. We payed in protest to avoid causing further scene. If it had have been me in my business, I definitely would have let the guest leave with the original bill of a few dollars difference, or at least an apology for the mistake. Especially when taking into account the amount we spend here each time we go there. Even the original waitress thought we were in the right. None of us will be returning to datbar again and we will definitely be recommending alternative places to go to others. Why is customer service getting so bad at places like this?

Had a quick beer at night, but we're allowed to taste several beers and the service was really good!

This evening I visited this rather, I suppose "trendy" is the word, establishment for a fine evening of food and convivial comfortable conversation within a rambunctious rabble rousing environment. The menu was displayed in a retro way upon a beautiful metallic clipboard and a choice was soon made for a pizza which included many luxurious ingredients. Upon the delivery of the pizza my first impression was that either Kuwait must have a booming economy or that a new enquiry needs to be commissioned by Chilcot to examine shady dealings between this establishment and small oil states in the Middle East. The pizza was almost floating off the plate with the quantity of what was admittedly not crude oil, but obviously some derivative thereof. I almost asked to keep it for when I next service my car. Overall the experience was positive and the food was pleasant without being a gastronomic delight and the atmosphere, barring a few oiks was pleasant. I may return to this establishment once Chilcot publishes this much needed new enquiry, although given his past record this may take at least ten years. I am sure within the next decade the hipster trend that has spawned these kind of venues will be but a distant memory and some equally hateful trend will have been adopted and a new bar will be in the place of "datbar".

Serves Cocktails that taste of alcohol and not just mixer and ice like everywhere else in town seems to. Bonus points for the delicious burger and fries I had too. Definitely would recommend

Following a recent cinema trip, myself and my brother decided we would try this top notch bar and restaurant. I had been only weeks previously for the first time with work colleagues so i was happy to suggest visitng. But this was the first time we had food.We arrived two minutes before the 2 pizzas for £10 offer ran out and the barman kindly said he would accept out order. So we ordered 2 pizzas with fine Italian salami upon it. It arrived extremely swiftly and was massive and although simple in make up, full of flavour.All washed down with an iced pint of Krucovice Czech lager. Very nice. Any beer lovers will struggle not to find a drink to their taste here with such as extensive list.Well worth a visit if around the city centre and are looking for something a littl different to the usual pizza places and bars

drunk couple in bar had too be removed by the two door staff then all hell broke loose as police arrived door staff were very nice with us shame the drunk couple spoiled our night

My friends and I had just finished a bit of sightseeing and were about to head into a afternoon on the town. This place was great for our group, the menu choices were great and they even did things such as 'naked' burgers, without the bun. Not the fanciest place ever, but we had a nice table outside, a chilled out lunch, and a couple of drinks. Pretty good start to a Saturday afternoon.

Much better than all of the chains in Newcastle city centre, I've been a few times and it's always good food and quick service.

Called in today ............. not very impressed at all ...dark and dingy service slow then asked 3 times for drinks.... odered 2 lattte cold on arrival sent back .......... ordered 2 main meals ribeye steak for me and penne with 3 tomatoe sauce for my partner seemed to wait ages for the food but when it finaly arrived mine was perfect but my partners was awfull bland some hot some cold some cooked some half cooked .......... when we complained we were offered an alternitive which we refused but they did take it off the bill........ over all not something we will be doing again but must add my steak was lush .

I recall walking past this place about a year ago and seeing the door open, popped in for a quick drink, but they weren't open; the door was open as they had just had a delivery. I erased it from my mind. So there we are sitting in - well it's the subject of another review - where there was no decent food at all and looking up somewhere to get something to eat, when up pops this place on Google maps within easy walking. Cue the memory and we decide to go. We were greeted immediately by Anna (from the name on the receipt) who invited us to pick any available seat and was back with us within seconds asking about drinks. I asked for an IPA; a nice hoppy one, and she said she would bring some samples. I told her not to worry - just pick one, but the sample came anyway and she was spot on. The food order was taken quickly afterwards and that enabled us to have a good look round. It seemed that Anna and her colleague were the only two serving on the restaurant floor, but this was not possible as they were taking drink orders and delivering drinks, taking food orders and delivering food and delivering bills and taking payment s well as greeting guests. Nonetheless, we watched it happen. I had been to a Michelin starred Newcastle restaurant the night before, and despite the fact they had four times as many people with less covers, service was neither as slick or as comfortable. Moving on from excellent service came excellent food. We had a starter, some small dishes to share and a pizza and a burger. Can't fault any of it, in fact the chicken liver pate (which is my "must order" item on any menu was probably (apart from the too thick butter seal) the best I have ever tasted. THis place is on my "do not go to Newcastle without visiting" list. Absolutely loved it and to top it all, the beer menu was also to die for. Price wise too, we had to check the bill because we thought we' deepen undercharged. You have cracked it guys!

Stumbled upon this place by accident whilst out for afternoon drinks. Great selection of craft ales on draught (14 up on the board), with a further selection of draught lagers available. Staff really helpful and will provide tasters, if you're unsure of what to opt for. A hidden gem if you're a fan of craft ales.

Great Sunday afternoon pizza, drinks and burgers with the best background music!! Loved our Spanish waitress who looked after us all so well . We will be back soon !!

Found this place by mistake , was looking for another place but thought while we are here may as well give it a try ..... and we didn't regret it , staff were great , drink prices where good !! We didn't have food but we will the next time because what we saw coming out of the kitchen look fab, loved the place

Visited on bank holiday Sunday and despite it being quiet there was a nice relaxed atmosphere, it didn't feel stuffy or like the staff were pushy. I got a pizza which was the best pizza I've had outside of Italy, 10/10. My boyfriend got a burger with pulled pork which he said was really good. Beer, wine and cocktail selection also excellent. There was one cocktail which tasted like a melted mix up and was delicious, but I can't remember the name! It was so reasonably priced as well, about £38 for three drinks, two mains and two sides. I would definitely visit again if I was in Newcastle.
