I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is perfect and the people who own and run it are the most kindest people I know. I personally recommend this restaurant. Sicilienne food made perfect.

A traditional, unpretentious Italian family restaurant with loads of character, great food and very reasonable prices. No visit to London would be complete without a meal at Mondello.

A lot of overly dramatic comments, one about throwing up after the food, which is really mature, go to a doctor maybe, you sound unwell. As for the restaurant, this is not a chain restaurant, this is much like local Italian places, which tend to be family run, the authenticity of the restaurant is unmatched for a place like London. Aside from being family run, they have a very funny Portuguese waiter, who will be very humorous when communicating with you, but is still very welcoming to you. The couple running the place are very warm and will treat you like family, I visit irregularly, but am still treated almost like a son to the family there, makes it very worth returning to see them. The atmosphere is incredible, and the food is fantastic, hygiene is very important in this place, leaving a sense of comfort. It is right by a road, in London (hold your breath in this city), which is not ideal, but no fault of the restaurant, so that's not relevant to their service. Go to this place.

Worst pizza and pasta ever! The pizza was hard and tasteless. The pasta was overcooked. This restaurant wouldn’t last a day in Italy.

Quite old style. Seems like it was good restaurant - decoration, menu has been the same several year and has not been updated yet. Carbonara pasta was overcooked and had the waffer thin ham, and with cream...very disappointing.

Use to work in area so often went here for lunch, really authentic and amazing food.

Poor customer service - shocking really. It was 12:05pm on a Saturday, and the sign said open. When we walked in an older gentleman threw his hands in the air, audibly scoffed, and walked away; leaving us standing in the foyer. We immediately left. I do not recommend this place. If that’s how they treat customers, I doubt they put any effort into the cleanliness of the restaurant or quality of their food. They should be ashamed of their behaviour.

Belle découverte que ce petit restaurant familial et d’origine sicilienne. L’endroit est sympathique, la cuisine est excellente , goûteuse et le service est fait par des serveurs agréables et professionnels. Ce soir là, le patriarche de la famille était présent et c’est un vieux monsieur très sympathique et enjoué. Bref, une bonne soirée.

Når man bor på et centralt beliggende hotel på Tottenham Court Road og ikke lige ved hvor man vil spise aftensmad, ja så er udvalget STORT. Der er over 18.000 restauranter at vælge mellem. Gik en tur fra hotellet og fandt denne perle. Bemærkede nogle gæster gå ind før mig og så den varme modtagelse alle fik. Jeg blev hurtigt anvist et godt beliggende bord og fik menukort med det samme. Havde ikke bestilt bord på forhånd. Torsdag aften kl. 18.00. Det halve af London var stadigvæk på pub. Besluttede mig for bruchetta og hvidløgsbrød til forret sammen med grønne oliven og et stort glas Pinot Grigio Hertil 0,5 liter danskvand på flaske. Smagte selvfølgelig godt. I mellemtiden havde jeg besluttet mig for spaghetti i en lækker tomatsovs med 7 stk kæmperejer. Tjeneren holdt nøje øje med hvor langt jeg var, så den blev serveret til tiden. Den var rigtig godt tilberedt og tjeneren var forbi nogle gange med peber kværn. Hvis jeg skulle komme med en tilføjelse så tænker jeg at hvidløg ville ha tilført det sidste pift. Nå men ned gled det da ( smagte altså godt). Der manglede lige det sidste....... Lemon Sorbet fra himlen. En fryd for ganen. Hertil en almindelig Black Coffee og selvfølgelig en Amaretto på is. Og alt dette endte ud i en regning på beskedne £38.50. Kan kun anbefale denne familie ejede restaurant fra 1977. Hyggelig. God mad. Dygtige tjenere. Kommer igen.

We were looking for a nice restaurant during Dennis storm and since this was near our hotel and looked ok, in we went. Decor is a litte bit tired but don't let that fool you, you are here to eat :). I assume this is family run place and has been in this place for over 40 years (according some awards on the wall) and I can understand why. The food was amazing, it is not fine dining but good solid, homemade Italian cooking. We split bruschetta, which was rustic and tasty. For main, I had liver with sage and butter and boy, it was best liver I've had in a restaurant in long, long time. Good sized portion, good greasy potatoes and some vegs, nothing to complain at all. My had had veal saltimbocca,same story as with my liver, excellent. Portions were so big that we skipped dessert, so cannot comment on those. Service was good, food arrived quickly and they don't make you wait for your check, so all in all, excellent experience. And the price, considering that this is in London, very cheap (bruchetta, 2 mains, and 500ml red wine, about 40 pounds). Highly recommended!

We go to Mondello every year for EWmily's birthday meal, because she wouldn't think of going anywhere else. The food is great and the service second to none. Can't wait for Emily to be another year older, so we'll find another excuse soon!

The Trattoria Mondello is this kind of places that deserves five stars. The reasons are the warm service of its dedicated staff. Its own owners are always checking that always everything be okay. The taste of the typical Italian dishes is wonderful, la lasagna, the pizzas, the soups, the fishes, the house's wine is also an excellent deal... In few words the experience is delivered by senior people with kindnesses, familiar treat and tradition... 🤗😊🍕🍝🍷

We were expecting a traditional, home-made pizza and were served some processed bland dough. The waiters kept putting dirty dishes and empty glasses on our table. The meat cannelloni (surprise !),turned out to be tuna. I think we would have been better off eating at a Pizza Express. We didn't risk getting dessert, as we were afraid of it being from Tesco. When it was time to get the hell out, we were informed we couldn't pay with contactless. One of our friends had to take the bill. They could at least have a sign.

Loved the place. The ambiance is so warm and so as their staff. The place is quiet and welcoming. Loved the pizza and the gnocchi there. Has a clean washroom too. Low lighting makes it soothing.

Lovely staff, great food. Couldn't be a more authentic italian in London. Recommend fully, especially if you want to avoid the big italian chains!!

If this place isn't the worst Italian in London Ill eat my hat. Saying that I'd rather eat my hat than the Carbonara I had yesterday that was made with sliced ham. Cheap and nasty, just like the decor. Avoid at all costs.

Nice find. Lovely Italian. Now that the excellent Pescatori's has closed (shock horror) this is the next best alternative for Italian. Nice traditional decor and owned run by Italians. They serve a good dover sole for about £18,which is a bargain. About £90 for 3 people with starters, so prices are very competitive. Bit disappointed that the second visit had a waiter (lanky guy with glasses) shadow us in an empty restaurant before closing, and then suggested we leave a tip. No mate, dont ever do that to anyone again, thats my decision to make not yours and you'll lose my excellent custom, as my group are generally big eaters and drinkers when we dont have someone weirdly watching us eat. Really annoying. Otherwise, this restaurant is now our Italian of choice.

Old school service where they make eating in a restaurant an experience. The waiters were playful and entertaining as well as attentive. They do not include the service charge in the bill which is the way it should be. Food was delicious.

On se retrouve vraiment dans une ambiance chaleureuse italienne. La carte est variée et nous avons testé la pizza et les pâtes. Tout était excellent. Le serveur nous a conseillé un vin sicilien qui était très bon à un prix correct.

The waiting staff were brilliant and the food was ok. There's a certain chic about it's quirkiness and 70's plastered walls, the toilets are clean and I love it's tiled floors, I could have been in a restaurant in any of the romance countries! However I do feel the menu needs a bit of an update my pollo delle artiste felt dated and was a bit dry so I am thankful it had a sauce. The mixed meat grill was definitely dry, maybe give a choice of sauce next time. The sweets trolley had some homemade desserts but the rest were shop bought, where's the torte della nonna and the homemade tiramisu?? A tad expensive for average food.

We were warmly greeted and looked after immediately. Typical Italian menu with all the usual goodies. The lady of the house came personally bid us farewell. Nice experience.

Hemos estado visitando el Mondello desde que abrió sus puertas. Por lo general, estamos en Londres desde Suecia un par de veces al año y rara vez nos perdemos una visita. Es un lugar cómodo con personal y propietarios alegres y amables. En nuestra visita en noviembre, mi esposa tenía una pizza 'Mondello' y yo tenía una pizza prosciutto. Ambos estaban muy bien hechos y frescos con un montón de rellenos. Muy sabroso y un placer para comer. También probamos el vino recomendado de Sicilia, cuya botella estaba lista en cada mesa. Nos aseguraron que fue excelente. Con un poco de cautela decidimos probarlo y no nos decepcionó. Estaba delicioso e igual a vinos mucho más caros.

Nice old fashion Italian. Can't remember the last time I saw paté with toast & prawn cocktail on the menu.! Very friendly service, very good value for London. Handy for the dominion theatre.

Acogedor restaurante italino con gran servicio, con diferencia lo mejor, buena cocina, buena bodega y excelentes postres. Una foto de Mick Jagger( de hace por lo menos 30 años) preside la sala principal con los dueños q dia a dia siguen al pie del añon...y se nota. Muy recomendable.

Necesitas 'conseguir' Mondello's. No se trata de competir con todos los puntos calientes de Londres, de hecho, es el antídoto si te sientes un poco cansado con toda la pretensión. Una cálida bienvenida personal de esta encantadora familia y el placer de viajar en el tiempo de una decoración que no ha cambiado desde los años 70. La comida es comida italiana reconfortante: estarías encantado de que te sirvan todo esto en la cena de un amigo, pero no esperes nada sofisticado o innovador, ¡no es por eso que vienes aquí! Me encantaron la berenjena al horno y los espaguetis vongole, los anfitriones cálidos y conversadores y las pequeñas cabinas que me recordaron las visitas a restaurantes familiares en mi adolescencia. Lo único que faltaba era un poco de música de fondo: sería una gran diferencia tener solo un poco, quizás de la misma época, ¡clásicos italianos para terminar la experiencia!

Great traditional-style Italian restaurant. The pizza was astonishingly good - no fancy toppings, just a perfect crisp base with fluffy, non-stodgy crusts. House wine by glass, carafe, or bottle. Great value given the location.

Well, dived in here whilst looking for a reasonable Italian restaurant in Fitzrovia. The deco is homely ... the front of house welcoming .... in fact the poor chap is overworked as he’s in his own !

Visited 2 October lunchtime Good welcome food very good. But needs updating very tired. The owner was attentive but how would he manage if it was busy. And very off putting that older Italian men kept walking in and out of the restaurant

Este es el restaurante italiano favorito de mis socios. Está un poco en mal estado pero tengo que decir que la comida es deliciosa. Hemos estado aquí muchas veces y siempre pienso que el menú está un poco desgastado y la decoración es antigua. Pero la comida no deja de dar en el blanco. Las porciones son buenas y no es solo un lugar de pizza y pasta. Sirve muchos platos de pescado, ternera, ternera y pollo, todos servidos con verduras. Tuve el Dover Sole y estaba muy bien preparado. El brócoli estaba frito en ajo y tenía un gran sabor. El bistec de mi compañero estaba perfectamente preparado según él. ¡Muchos restaurantes tienen un par de opciones vegetarianas, pero este lugar tiene una sección completa!

Acabo de regresar de Italia, mi familia y yo estábamos buscando un lugar auténtico y con un precio razonable: Mondello hace las dos cosas y las hace muy bien. Auténtico, delicioso y familiar. Es el lugar perfecto para parejas y familias. Agradable ver a los propietarios en y alrededor del entorno, interactuando también con los clientes.

Food was great; service even greater. Incredibly warm family who made our evening in London and made us feel very welcome. Reasonably priced. We’ll be back again.

Love this place - can't recommend enough

Excellent Italian food ! The Gamberoni Giovanni is absolutely delicious! Probably the best prawn dish in London ❤️ (King prawns in butter, garlic , chilled lemon and white wine ) Their dessert, esp tiramisu was perfect 👌

I have visited this family Italian restaurant quite a few times in a Society group and the Italian food is always good, with nice specials offered daily. Lovely visit today but my only sadness is that most Italian restaurants never offer wines other than their own country’s. Italian wines don’t really agree with me. Not sure why. Could it be more sulfites in them?

The straff was pelskant and nice. The food was really good. Love the Italian food and experience. Loved the lazagna al Forno.

We have just come back from our anniversary meal at Mondello's and it was so so nice!! Our waiter (Stefano) was so attentive and lovely and was teaching us all sorts of history! The food was very very nice and the price was extremely reasonable. We ordered two half litres of house wine, one in red and one in white and they were much nicer than the wines you can pay £9 a GLASS for in nearby pubs!! We also had calamari and prawns to start both of which were cooked to perfection (rubbery calamari is disgusting and this was just right!) we then had spaghetti carbonara and veal Milanese and both dishes were so tasty spaghetti cooked just right. All in all a beautiful meal for a beautiful occasion and next time we will try to make room for dessert! A family run business well worth supporting!!

We are 4 60 something ladies just returning from our trip to Mondello. We had a fabulous air bnb apartment one road back from the beach. Thats where fabulous ended I'm afraid.

Trendy restaurants come and go so fast in nearby Charlotte Street - the Mondello in Goodge Street is the antithesis..

친절했고 맛있었지만 밑에 위생 리뷰를 보니..다시 가기 무서워지네요...사장님 내외분이 연세가 꽤 있으신거 같았는데 두분다 가게에 계셨고 이탈리아인으로 보이는, 단골같은 느낌의 손님들도 많았어요

Le restaurant est joliment décoré. La carte est variée mais sans excès. Les plats servis sont conformes à ce qu'on attend de la cuisine italienne traditionnelle. Les serveurs sont sympathiques et on ressent l'esprit de famille. Je ne mets pas la 5e étoile car on ne m'a pas proposé la carte des desserts après mon plat. L'addition est tout à fait raisonnable pour la qualité servie. C'est une bonne adresse.

Warm welcome, nice surroundings, starters were quite good (could have been more generous), excellent main courses and a nice bottle of wine! Will definitely eat here again.

I am from Sicily and the Pizza here was horrible.. Tesco's finest is far better. Definitely not recommendable. The service was great though, very polite, friendly and helpful staff.

Bread worst than the cheapest in Aldi, Pasta al Pesto watery and dull , and the best for the end, pizza crust literally tasting like cardboard and tasteless toping using there again, the cheapest ingredients in the market. It's an insult to Italian food and just a tourist trap really

We ordered a starter of antipasto and it came with some slices of salami and a,few pickled onions and tomato slices on a bed of undressed lettuce. Much improved when we requested some olive oil. Our dinners were underwhelming and disappointing. Pasta marinara came with a scant portion of seafood. Wine was good.

You feel like home in this place, it's unique in every way. Pretty cool staff, very kind. Nice place to go with the family or very old friends and have a heart to heart conversation.

I absolutely LOVE Mondellos. It’s an amazing and quaint family run Tratoria that I have been visiting for over 5 years now. The service is friendly and as it’s a family run restaurant, they really do care, and I’ve never found a restaurant that I’ve revisited with such a warm welcome. The food is great rustic and delicious Italian cuisine, I’ve never had a bad meal here Genuinely can’t rate this place high enough - the fact that after 5 years of coming here me and my fiancé booked for valentines speaks of how highly I rate and love this place

Parada obligatoria si quieres verdadera comida italiana en Londres. Vivía cerca del local y lo descubrí un día que mis compañeros de piso italianos y yo decidimos entrar, tiene aspecto antigüo pero tiene un ambiente familiar. Los camareros son atentos. Fui varias veces, llevé a mis amigos a probarlo y tengo que decir que todo me encanta, especialmente la pasta. Alguna recomendación personal sería Tortelloni alla Panna. Además los precios están muy bien ya que en Londres todo suele ser más caro de lo normal. Definitivamente recomendable. Saluti da Lucía da Vigo :)
