Wonderful restaurant! Hugely popular and staff clearly knew many regulars. Repeat visits always a good sign. Informal, friendly, welcoming, good menu, something for everyone, extremely well cooked food, cold wine, cold beer, great service. Best restaurant in Carlisle? Probably. Totally recommended.

Delicious hot food for a good price, delivery on time highly recommend

Took my children for dinner as a half term treat and what a treat it was! We were warmly welcomed by a lovely gentleman who went above & beyond to make sure we had everything we needed even accommodating a last minute order change for one of the children. The food was delicious and the portions were generous to say the least ( we struggled to eat it all). The staff were very helpful & friendly and the atmosphere was great. The prices are very reasonable and the children especially liked that they got a lollipop each to take home. We would highly recommend a visit and will most definitely be back again ourselves soon!

Very good good, probs one of the best garlic breads I have ever had, it is a great family business, the service could have been a little bit quicker but I am not going to complain.

Best Italian takeaway I have ever been to. Worth every penny.

We were absolutely over the moon to have found this restaurant (only 300m from our accommodation). The host is amusing, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Service is attentive but relaxed. The Italian food was better than we got in Rome or Tuscany! We had Lasagne and seafood risotto and both were delicious. We followed the advice of another reviewer and had the homemade chips - have them! They are so chunky and so crispy. Excellent value with two glasses of wine and the tip that we added it only came to £50. The style is of being in a little trattoria in Italy and the ambience is lively, joyous and happy. Highly recommended

Regular visits to Giannis due to quality food and excellent service from staff. Favourite dish is Ravioli Diablo with spicy sausage and it is sublime Can’t fault good or service

We had a family meal from this take away this evening. The order service was pleasant and professional. The food was ready on time and hot. We were however disappointed with the quality of the pizza base. We thought it would support your business to provide feedback. We provided the feedback only to be advised we wanted a discount. How rude and insulted we were.. we won’t be buying anything in the future or making any recommendations.

I have visited this restaurant a few tines over the years always great service and amazing food . Went with my family a group of 11 for my daughters 21st 25th Feb and they didn’t disappoint . Even tho we were a large group every meal was delicious the service was fab they even brought out a desert with a candle and sang happy birthday to my daughter. Thankyou giannis

We stopped over in Carlisle and found this unexpected gem, Gianni’s. We had a fab time listening to the music and enjoying the eclectic decor. We were so pleased the food was fabulous, I chose Verdi pizza which was packed with vegetables artichoke hearts plentiful ! Partner chose spaghetti Marinara extremely nice. We were lucky walk ins because it was busy and deservedly so.

Staff are ever so friendly, food is made very well and the price is just perfect. By far my favorite Italian restaurant, I’ve bean multiple times with different people, the restaurant never fails to impress

Great service great food. We were a table of 8 we had booked and we were shown to a table upstairs . We were quickly served drinks and orders taken I shared the Calamori the would have been too much for 1 person they were Beautiful and crisp with garlic mayo . We all enjoyed our main all beautifully cooked. The sea bass was great with roasted veg a lovely evening out ! Will definitely return and recommend .

What can I say about this hidden gem, down from Scotland for an overnight, food and service was amazing. The staff were superb and friendly the food was incredible. Next time in Carlisle it will be our first destination. Fantastic food and great value for money.

Came to Giannis for Valentine’s Day this year, the atmosphere and food were absolutely beautiful as usual. Staff are kind and make you feel very welcome. Definitely the best restaurant in Carlisle!

Firstly took 1.5 hours to arrive, not a good start. Then when it did arrive, the pizzas were a mess. Topping: sliding right off, just a soggy mess… To top it off, they didn’t even bother to cut the pizzas!

Last Saturday I thought I'd get a nice pizza from a proper Italian style pizza outlet, not the tandoori type where the chickens is red in colour so makes the whole pizza taste like a curry! Saw this place snd thought I'd pop across.. Google showed it closing at 11 p.m. so no it was about 10pm, so should be no problem.. only when I got there I saw the staff leaving and another hopeful who had been let down, telling me that they had closed at 10 p.m. on Saturdays. So just this week I thought I'd go again. It's Friday today and again it's showing 11 oclock so so I should be ok. Arrived to find most of the lights out and the silhouette of a guy behind the counter. Sign on the door clearly said open till 11.. then I noticed the 'Closed' sign. Shouted through the window at the guy to ask if he was open.. and the response came "no we close at 10 on Fridays!". Great. What a way to run a business.. the very least you could do is keep the advertising of your opening times accurate, so that people aren't being messed about driving in expectation of getting a meal only to find it closed! Sorry but that earns you a gleaming ONE star. If they can't be bothered to even get their opening times correct then I don't hold out much hope for anything else.

2.5 hours delivery, cold food. Don’t answer the phone.

Took over 2 hours to come when ordered through just eat when the delivery time should have been 1 hour. Tried calling the takeaway numerous times with the phone ringing out. Food eventually came and was cold. Will not be ordering from here again.

We visited yesterday evening and ordered a pizza and a garlic bread with cheese on. The food tasted like the cheese was off. This was either the case or it could be that garlic oil was used instead of garlic. Today I feel poorly and very dehydrated and all I can taste is salt. I will most definitely not be returning!

Ordered online with an estimated time of delivery for 1855 hours. Rang at 19220 hours to enquire where the order was to be told it was already out and at least 10.mins away... Delivery arrived at 2030 hours.. Garlic n tomatoe bread was cold and the Americano pizza was Luke warm...our favourite place but not the best delivery service.. And yes I did ri g and speak to a lovely girl who did apologise. My advice is don't send out too many delivery's with the same driver as ours had been out over 20 minutes

My family and I went for happy hour tonight and we were very impressed. Everything was delicious, especially the garlic cheese pizza. The service was exceptional, such nice guys, very friendly and great with our children. We will definitely return. Highly recommended!

Best takeaway I’ve had in a long time. All food is fresh and cooked completely from scratch. The food is brilliant and delivered steaming hot…. The pizza was delivered uncut which is perfect because I can cut it however I like. 10/10 I would definitely recommend.

Yesterday ordered the chicken and mushroom penne dish ….. let’s say the chicken departed before the pasta got added …. 4 tiny pieces. Normally the food is good from here … maybe a bad weekend… still not acceptable though plus the pizza that was ordered was stone cold by the time it arrived, one more chance and then marios will get all my custom

The evening was ruined by a large very noisy group in the restaurant who apparently had been in there since lunch time. Far from it being a family restaurant it felt more like being in the middle of a drunken brawl, a very unpleasant experience....

We dropped on this sublime restaurant by chance and oh aren’t we glad that we did! The stylish decor gave the restaurant a real italian feel. Extremely varied menu, tasty food and excellent, prompt service from Alex our waiter! (Who recommended his favourite bacon dish.)...

This is not about the food as it never arrived. They accepted our order on thier app and gave us a delivery time. Some time later than the arranged delivery time they rang up and told lies about when the order was placed. We were given a revised delivery time almost 2 hours after ordering which although over an hour late was better than nothing, they still failed to deliver. We ended up canceling our order and going elsewhere. My advice is to avoid this takeaway. Its only a shame that there isn't a zero star option on here.

Order placed at 5.30, finally arrived at 7.20 almost 2 hours late. Food stone cold and tasted like cardboard. Won't be ordering from here again

The worst take away ever, our son ordered it in as a surprise for my birthday, everything was (garlic bread, tomatoe garlic bread, chips, lasagne, and pizza) cold. The lasagne tasted like baby food that had been made out of a powdered baby food mix. I can't believe you're making a living out of selling food that I wouldn't give to my dog. You should be shut down and then you should go and get yourself a paper round.

For some reason has a very bright security light pointed at a woman's flat and not on his premises. We have several photographs of it spanning the past year.

Update: On my second order I found several hairs in my stroganoff 🤢😔 They refused to refund me. Original review: Amazing tastes and great food. Good sized portions and quality ingredients. This is my new favourite take away! Absolutely blown away with the quality and quantity. Amazing 😍

I went for the first time yesterday I thought the staff were really polite and had a good customer service manner. The food was affordably priced and I didn't have long to wait for the food, when I got home I thought that the food was very nice.

Ordered meals for four people at 5:15 for a delivery at 7:15 . 8:00 no food...rang them they said we were shut.. no we are a house oh there was no answer. Now we had been waiting for them so we know they had not been...OK we will phone you back in 10 minutes. . Nothing ...will not be trying them again. Night spoiled ....Tried again and it was very nice.. 😁

Thought we would give it a try, being practically on our doorstep. Ordered 3 x meal deals, (any two pasta or pizza and a garlic bread for £11) two garlic mushroom starters and two garlic bread with cheese. The food was superb, piping hot, pasta dishes were creamy & full of garlic, pizzas and garlic breads were lovely and thin bases (proper home made Italian style bases) Best Italian takeaway we have had had in over 20 years.

When your child steals half your chips and still comes back for more so you steal a slice of pizza and you want more but she’s eaten it that quick you’ve missed out and also shocked that you go looking! Best takeaway I've ever had! the pepperoni pizza is to die for and the chicken livers/carbonara are some of the best I've had in my entire life.

Had the pizza/pasta deal tonight it was amazing!!! We ordered two pizzas and a cheesy garlic bread, the pizza bases are so light with lots of toppings all that came to £12, then we added a portion of ribs which were so tasty and the meat just fell of the bone. I’ve have been a few times and never had a bad meal!!!

Great Food. Have been a few times now, was slightly late once but was still piping hot and fresh. We got a phone call to let us know about the slight delay but it is worth it.

I've been a few times now and never been disappointed. The food is always hot if I collect or if it's delivered. My go to order is a pizza Americana and/or a tortellini Diavola. The Pizza is thin and crispy with plenty of toppings and the pasta is full of sauce and flavour. The garlic breads are unreal too.

Delivery 5/5 Timing 5/5 Pricing 3/5 Quality 1/5 Flavour 4/5 Pollo Diane: Chicken either poorly cooked or frozen meat. Lacked quality and way too chewy, everything else was ok, the flavour in the Diane sauce was bang on. Rice was cooked perfectly Ribs: I don't want to be rude as we all mess up, but these ribs were terrible, no lie I've never tasted worse than these overcooked hard chewy ribs in an almost slimy BBQ sauce, very basic. Binned Was really gutted as the local competition for Italian food either restaurant or takeout serve amazing meaty, fresh made sauce for ribs Fungi Ripeni Slimy, not cooked enough, needed less oil and more garlic with cheese as ordered. Pizza / Breads Pizza was banging, bit greasy but flavoursome. Picanté was on point. Like I said above, I'll give them another go as I remember starting up, it was hard we got real busy and made stupid mistakes that should of never happened, so hopefully Gianni's had this one bad night, I'll update after the next order as I believe that when you open any food establishment, there's a real reason and passion for food, so it has to be better than this, so we'll wait till the weekend

Don’t be fooled by photos.....everything covered in sugo even the so called ‘creamy risotto’....this is not Italian....
