The best restaurant in Carlisle. Great location and setting, and great food and prices to go with it. Highly recommend.

Just a note to thank you and your staff for a very lovely evening – the food was exceptional(starter,dinner and dessert),and the service was excellent. All of us(8people)thoroughly enjoyed it and there wasn’t a single complaint. We will make sure we plan our next “do” there again.so lovely to spend an evening at Michelangelo 5*

I was given a voucher which expires on 20 th January 2024 Unfortunately I had a stroke on 11 December 2023 and am still in hospital I rang Michelangelos and spoke to Leon (The Owner) I explained what had happened and he said he couldn't do anything about it??? And put the phone down on me. I can't believe his attitude after going to that restaurant for many years words fail me as to his behavior..

Always enjoy our visit to Michelangelo's. The food is always excellent. Definitely recommend.

We love Michelangelo. The menu is long though. You're familiar with the Italian menu or you probably want to read the menu ahead of time.

Food excellent, service super slow and I was ignored twice. The waitress asked my friends what they wanted for drinks and she ignored me then did the exact same thing for starters. Waited ages between courses and then another long wait for a coffee which was ordered at the same time as other drinks and puddings. Staff spent more time chatting to each other than necessary, our drinks were sat on the bar for a good 10 mins whilst they had a nice chat.

Beautiful food and beautiful location. Has a good atmosphere and a very extensive menu. Really enjoyed the pizza. Would definitely come here again.

Food was Good, shame the Steak wasn't available but clearly still on the menu! mind the alternative was good(Tbone) Trouble with these venues they get really loud once full but that's the people not the venue...

Four of us called in on Saturday evening at 6 pm, having booked the table the week before. All staff were very friendly and helpful and the food and atmosphere were excellent 👌 Highly recommended 👍

Avoid at all cost. Rude and foul mouthed owner/manager. Looking forward to experience an evening full of Italian sophistication we booked a table at Michelangelos. We arrived at 8pm and our orders were taken and drinks served by 8:15, brilliant. However we sat sipping our drinks for nearly an hour with no sign of our starters. We informed the owner or manager that we are leaving but will pay for the drinks which by now were warm and had gone flat. The owner disputed this by calling us liars and hurled abuse at us for wanting to leave. The owner continued to vent his anger at us using some very colourful language as we left his establishment extremely disappointed. The next morning I was releived to wake up and not find a horses head in my bed.

Food was served nice and warm , steak was lovely . Staff were also accommodating and friendly. Looking forward to going again .

Tonight we had an absolutely great night.i am pleased I found the Michalangelo restaurant, took my visitor there and we were very impressed ,very nice restaurant, great staff,and amazing food .best meal I have eaten in England ! Salmon was crunchy but not dry,vegetables lovely and tasty .definitely we will be going back .

Had an evening meal with my partner a few weeks ago , we had a lovely meal , and the atmosphere and surrounding were great . Staff are very helpful and friendly , we'll definitely be back , a thumbs up from us both to all at Michelangelo's !!

We had a very enjoyable meal for 4. I can't fault this restaurant. Food, service and atmosphere were all excellent and it was busy on a Wednesday night.

Tried to book for a birthday meal for 9 people on a Friday at 6pm. Told they don’t take bookings for more than 6 on a Fri/Sat due to folk not turning up, we said we’d happily pay £90 deposit to secure the booking but they weren’t interested….

Top quality food, excellent service and great atmosphere. Starters, mains and deserts were all tasty and cooked well. Plenty to choose from for everyone in our group. Service was excellent, looked after the whole group really well. The building/interior is beautiful. We will be back soon. Thanks

Had surf and turf, the sirloin was beautiful as were the prawns I do prefer cooked from raw prawns as opposed to already cooked prawns but that's just a personal preference but the whole meal was beautiful 😍

Great atmosphere and service, although if your a coeliac and don't like tomatoes I wouldn't bother. Was a bit disheartened by the lack of choice for gf options even though they had vegan options. Was told anything with cream in wasn't an option so got a tomato Risotto and was bland as hell was just like eating tomatoes and araborio rice. Definitely won't be back, which I'm pretty gutted about years ago the food was lovely but that was before I was diagnosed.

Food was brilliant as always. Service was a little slow, only bringing a spoon for the pasta after 10 minutes of asking for one, was almost finished the dish by then.

My husband and I were celebrating Valentine's and when we arrived, we were made very welcome, the food was exceptional, the service was amazing, friendly and attentive, we were made to feel like we were the only ones there and we felt special, we will be going back again most definitely and we will be recommending them absolutely 😄

Friendly staff and good service, value for money dishes.

Randomly visited with my daughters. Staff were friendly enough but took a very long time to bring us the bill at the end even after asking them to, which meant a very bored 5yr old getting disruptive. Food was nice but it's quite a costly restaurant, so it's more worth a special treat rather than a last minute eat out option. Cosy set up and nice for a more grown up meal. (Definitely not wheelchair friendly)

We had a lovely meal...starters and main. Wine. Coffee. The only let down was the limocello as neither the glass or the limocello was chilled. Apart from that a lovely evening.

Warm and friendly, environment and staff. Tiny writing on a big menu card. Not all tables had light bright enough to read it.

Some dishes could be improved , my vongole was filled with sundried tomatos , to make up for clams being so minute. Too much sauce on chicken dish , breast of chicken cooked in one whole chunk very dry.

Our first time there and it was my birthday Beautiful meal and fantastic atmosphere. Met some lovely people and had a wonderful night. Would highly recommend.

You can't get much better than this place. The food is fantastic and the peroni on draught seals the deal. Perfect restaurant.

Disappointed - Had a lovely main meal but when it came to deserts we waited 40 minutes and it still did not come so went and paid for the meal. Not good when everyone is getting their meal way ahead of our desert order

Came here with friends yesterday got a Margarita pizza for £14.95 and a 33cl bottle of Coca-Cola that was £3.30 Beautiful food and great service nice atmosphere pizza was big and lots of taste will Definitely be back

Very pleasant setting great food and service

This was very disappointing, we waited an hour for one beer and then to have another beer or drink was a difficulty, we ordered our food and sat for an hour before it arrived in which we had 5 sets of cutlery for 6, no spoons or anything for cutting pizza. In which we asked for them to be cut and he held our pizza and dropped it on the table. Overall very dissatisfied with the customer service, very unwelcoming and not very professional I will not be coming here again!

Went in for a belated anniversary meal. Rang up to book a last minute table and was given an option to be seated in 15 minutes - perfect for us. We ordered starters & mains. The portions are quite large. I had a cheesy mushroom starter with the most delicious bread and a cheesy chicken main with a side of chips and veg. Wouldn't recommend getting veg and chips together, it was too much food! It was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The menu was large and there was plenty of options for us. Service was really good & pretty quick. Would recommend and go back 😁

There was a bit of a wait before we got seated as a result of the restaurant being busy / popular. The service at the table, though, was friendly and quick. The ambiance inside the restaurant was good; the interior is well designed and has a nice feel about it. The food was OK but I wouldn't rave about it. I had the mushroom bruscetta to start but it was over cooked, dry and lacked flavour. The seafood fettuccine tasted a lot better. The mussels and cockles were still in their shells which is something I'd rather not battle with when eating out but others might be OK with it. Overall, the restaurant is OK but if I was visiting the town again, I'd try somewhere else.

Beautiful restaurant. Friendly welcome, drink and food orders taken nice and quick. Great choices on the menu. Food was delicious, good portion size. Would highly recommend a visit, you won't be Disappointed.

Pleasant surroundings in this restaurant. Ideally situated in the centre of the town. Clean and tidy.Friendly welcome on arrival. A large selection on the menu. We were very pleased with the food and the service provided. Would certainly return .

Lovely food. Had the tagliatelle fiorentina. Hubby had lasagna and really enjoyed that too. Our friends said theirs was the best pasta they'd had! Good service too.

Amazing! Went here one Wed evening for a birthday meal with 6 of us. Atmosphere and decor are great. Nice air of quality. Service staff quick, helpful and easy to talk to. And the food. Oh my god, the food. Wide selection of everything Italian, cooked and flavoured really well. All the pastas, pizzas and puddings you could want. Portion sizes spot on, really good helpings full of prawns and beef and veg and sauces and all things delicious. Oh and the tomahawk steak. Never tasted beef like it. All for a price that’s extremely reasonable. Go there. Now

I came her with my wife and 2 children and we loved it. The decor and general atmosphere is excellent and very well maintained. The menu had an excellent selection and the food was so so good. I would definitely recommend and will return when next in Carlisle.

Beautifully appointed restaurant complete with statues inside and a water feature outside the entrance. Friendly attentive staff and delicious food, I had the spaghetti putanesca which was very full in flavour. Large menu and saw some tempting desserts on their way to other tables but I was defeated. Will definitely visit again.

The food is fantastic and the staff and service is top notch.

I went with a group of friends and we enjoyed some delicious food, I had the tagliatelle fruit de mer which was packed with prawns, mussels, cockles and squid, it was delicious. Mo our waitress was friendly, fun and very helpful, suggesting wines, describing dishes when we couldn't decide and checking everything was OK for us. We will definitely recommend.

This place has the greatest pizza of all time. Order the Salsiccia if you can because it is literally so good.
