Booked a table of 3 for bottomless pizza night and it was well worth the money, pizza slices were huge 😋 staff were very quick to see if we wanted anymore slices and our plates were never empty, deffo be back!

Came here for a breakfast date treat, and what a treat it was, everything was cooked to perfection. Emily who served us was so lovely, will definitely be back.

I've eaten in and had takeaways from here, as I'm a coeliac it's hard to find good gluten free food. This is one of my favourite places as it has all my comfort foods. Got this munchies box delivered last night, containing Korean glazed Chicken, Nachos, potatoe lattices, Wraps and shredded beef and it was delicious. Even ordered the gyros thinking they may be gluten free but recieved a phone call to say they weren't and that if I didn't want another option they could just add more of everything which was perfect. Only thing I'd say for the restaurant is to put the wraps under the foil or in separate foil so they don't get covered in oil or sauce. No complaints though!

30+ of us went for a 21st birthday lunch and the poor birthday girl couldn’t get served a drink due to forgetting her ID, all her family were there including her Dad. 21st birthday balloons and personalised posters up and they still wouldn’t serve her a drink. We asked if we could get someone at home to send a picture of her ID as we live 20+miles away and non of it was good enough. So disappointed as I’ve heard good things about this place. The birthday girl is a tattooist and also covered in tattoos so not like she wasn’t old enough to drink. But I definitely won’t be back here now. She has been there several times before that and loved it which is why she wanted to book there for her 21st. We know the rules of serving alcohol as several family members have drinks licenses but staff would not budge. After the birthday girl got denied an alcoholic drink the two staff members made her feel very uncomfortable and kept watching everything she did, shameful making someone feel like that at her own birthday lunch.

Lovely place to go if you want a quiet, warm atmosphere and fantastic food! I had korean Butter Milk Chicken for my starter, Ramen Noodle Bowl for my main and Sticky Toffee Pudding for desert, i enjoyed every mouth full! 😋 service was excellent, there were no long waits for each course and when we needed anything staff were happy to help. I also recommend breakfast see photo's attached 😋

Shocking service. Booked family meal for new years eve back in November. They phoned 1 hour and half before the booking to say its a set menu for £45 each!!! No empathy at all, not even an apology

What a fantastic place this is. Lovely staff great decor and amazing food! We were on a xmas shopping day in carlisle and decided to try this restaurant as the menu looked lovely. We went at lunchtime and had booked a table for 1 o’clock but as we were finished with our shopping early we headed there in the hope that they could fit us in a bit earlier. This was no problem! We were greeted by friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us. We got our menus and they took our drinks order straight away. We had a look through the menu and on no time we were ready to order. We ordered starters of halloumi fries, Yorkshire pudding wrap and the Korean chicken. The food arrived after around 10 minutes of waiting, it was presented in a lovely way nice and hot and very tasty. We were all very happy with our choices. Plates were cleared promptly and our mains arrived an arrived a short time later. We ordered the Wagyu burger, the steak fajita and the special of salt and pepper beef brisket which came in a pitta bread with chilli jam. All the dishes were absolutely gorgeous no complaints from any of us at all. All very tasty, cooked to perfection and presented very well. The chunky chips that came with the burger were amazing, really loved them. We really enjoyed our experience in this restaurant and the staff were really nice. We will be back hopefully very soon

Party of 17 went for Christmas meal, there was another large party in too -but you wouldn’t have known. Service was amazing, staff really helpful, food hot and really tasty - huge portions! We all said we would return!

Hi we attended the restaurant this afternoon starters was not to bad but the main course of the Sundays dinner was not edible vegetables where not cooked had the disrespect to ask £5 for extra gravy when we complained about main course to be removed from final bill as we refused to eat it the manager had a real attitude about the situation she agreed to give us a discount but only provided us with a £15 discount which I was terribly insulted by will recommend any eat the pure filth

Another fabulous meal with friends at In The Meantime. We were looked after by such friendly staff. The food was delicious as usual. The menu caters for everyone . We will be back soon .

What a terrible name for a restaurant to go for a meal with your grandparents. No matter how many explanations that it is just what the restaurant is called they were still unable to understand the concept that "we will meet In The Meantime". Lovely food though.

Lovely and relaxed atmosphere, friendly professional staff and service. But the piece de resistance is the menu. My wife had the regular menu and I had the vegan menu. We went on Saturday and Sunday evening. The vegan roast was simply outrageously delicious!

Googled for a place in Carlisle that had vegan options so popped in for lunch. Pleased we did as the food was delicious and the service was speedy and friendly. Wish we hadn't ordered a starter as the portions were big and couldn't finish the vegan burgers. Good coffee, chips and salads too. A bit more than we normally pay for lunch when shopping but it was worth it.

Well what can I say, apart from its lost its way. Prices you pay are not reflective of standard or service. Starters to be fair buttermilk chicken, belly pork etc good flavourful and different Main courses nothing special and for the price would love to rave about them but I can’t, what made it worse was the service, the team seemed disinterested, fed up like they was tired and just doing the job as run of the mill effort. Just not as it was a few years ago, we have been a couple of times of late to keep giving them a chance cause we did use to enjoy it but now don’t think will be going back. Shame really but definitely lost its way in my opinion

We had a lovely meal here at the weekend just passed. The food was very good indeed, as was the service. Give it a go and don’t be afraid to try the “charcoal” buns.

Stopped for a few drinks then asked on the off chance if they had a table for dinner thankfully they did. Service was friendly and dinner was up there with one of the best things I've eaten. I had steak stack with salt and pepper fries and mushrooms, hubby had the wagu burger and it was amazing. The Carlisle raspberry and passionfruit gin was delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Gluten-free menu was perfect and the gluten-free burger also! I recommend. Only the chips were humid, no crispy.

Nipped in for lunch without a reservation. My fiancé ordered the fried chicken, which he enjoyed but commented it would have been better if the sauce was on the side, so the chicken stayed crisper. I had two small plates, which were the halloumi and pork belly, which were both gorgeous. The staff were so lovely, I could not fault the service. Definitely will return!

I can absolutely recommend this place for Sunday lunch. My god the food is amazing, a little to much on the plate, but it was wonderful, the only downside is we had to climb 2 flights of stairs to our table. Not an issue when your youn(ger). But besides that, the staff were lovely and gave us the reason for the name etc. would recommend this place a thousand percent. Worth every penny

Second visit to Meantime for Sunday Lunch and it did not disappoint. A very warm welcome from a friendly waitress. Drinks orders taken immediately. The Sunday Roast was absolutely outstanding - best I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Crispy pork belly with an amazing array of vegetables plus perfectly cooked roasties & Yorkshire Pud. No room for desert, though they sounded divine & our leftover lunch packaged up for us to take away. Our waitress’Ali’ (my namesake 😊) was just so lovely - she really made our visit so special - her bosses must be so proud to have her! Thank you all for a wonderful lunch … In the Meantime… we will be back 😋

I was recommended to visit here on the basis that they were brilliant in specialising in dietary requirements. On our first visit I thought it was an absolute revelation and I absolutely loved the food and the staff serving us seemed very switched on to catering for special dietary requirements. On our second visit the food was nice albeit my soup was on the very cold side but I let this slide. This week I visited again in a small party. The music was absolutely blaring and overbearing and because the tables are so deep it was a real struggle to hold and hear a conversation. We explained about my dietary requirements initially when we were first given menus and I was told to be sure to mention it to our server, which I did and whether she didn’t listen, didn’t understand or take it onboard, hadn’t been trained properly (as she said she was new) or couldn’t hear because of the blaring music I don’t know but after this visit I won’t be rushing back. The food is very over priced for what it is but if the staff aren’t trained properly, can’t hear what is said because of overly loud music and staff and management/owners aren’t paying proper attention to dietary requirements what is the point of this being one or their unique selling points. So I won’t be rushing back anytime soon which is a real shame.

Found this wee gem of a place, with lots of gf options and the best chicken burger I have ever tasted! My son and I had the Mexican chicken burger which was served with cajun chips, fries, salad or hand cut chips. Having just returned from holiday where at the airport my gluten free options were restricted, it was refreshing to see such a huge offering of gluten free options on the menu. My husband opted for the crispy chicken noodle bowl and he loved the dish; food was really tasty and fresh.

Having looked up various options for vegan food in Carlisle, my wife and I decided on this restaurant. This place does both vegan and non vegan. My wife had the mushroom bruschetta and the vegan hot dog. I had the Korean pork and the Sinatra burger. Both of us described the food as excellent. I'm very disappointed with our family meal last night 14/01/23. I had organised a family meal for my daughters birthday and every single one of us thought the meal was over rated and definitely over priced. Myself, my mam,my daughter(who's birthday it was) my daughters friend and my eldest daughter all ordered the steak none of our orders where right and my eldest daughter sent hers back and then had to wait 20 mins before she got her food. My mam and daughters food was very tough and not cooked to how they where supposed to be. We put up with our food as we had waited a while. As we sat eating all our deserts the lass came to our table and told us we had 10 mins left on our table which was bang out of order as 20 mins had been taken up waiting on them getting my daughters order right. They had came to our table with our orders wrong atleast 3 times.
