The best restaurants serving Irish food in Northern Ireland

Perfect in every way! The decorations and furniture are colourful, very modern without being too cold or corporate. Dog friendly but we chose to sit outside on this visit. I had the veggie benny and my boyfriend had the French toast. The French toast was colourful, and the fruit was fresh. The brioche bread used was thick and the portion size looked reasonable for the price. The veggy benny was also lovely. It has maltaise Hollandaise which is blood orange! It looked beautiful but I hadn’t realised it would be orange before I ordered. The staff were extremely lovely and accommodating and remade the dish with a normal holllandaise. I felt bad for my mistake but they provided excellent customer service and were very kind. We also had iced lattes. The coffee was smooth and the extra syrups we had made them even better. I also had one of the cookie sandwiches as a take out and it was exactly what you would like in a tray bake. All in all, it is the kind of place you would keep going back to as it has nice atmosphere, produces consistently good food and drink, and the service is amazing.

We had our family reunion at Hunters on 14-09-2024 with members coming from USA and all over UK. Dolores provided excellent food and service and a really relaxed atmosphere.Tremendous value. Would have no hesitation in recommending this venue. Maire

I have stayed at the hotel on multiple occasions when visiting Belfast. The menu and food is excellent, beautifully prepared and really tasty. I have nothing but positive complements for the chef. Unfortunately he/she is let down by clueless waiting staff. They are perfectly friendly and helpful WHEN you get to engage with them but to say they are inattentive is the understatement of the century!! They coalesce around the cooking area or the tills but don't look around or proactively approach diners. This happened on two occasions when I went there in both January and April 2025. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went again but ended up walking out after 15 minutes of waiting for someone to take my order! I was even waiving both arms above my head to attract attention!! I believe the waiting staff are willing but they need to be trained! The fact that they are not is a damning indictment on the manager there who needs to be replaced! It's SUCH a shame given the quality of the food but because of the atrocious service, I am afraid I would recommend avoiding this place unless you've got all day (maybe two!) to have someone come by to take your order. Very disappointing.

Always fantastic atmosphere and staff in this beautiful wee Belfast pub, highly recommend if you like trad music and friendly staff and good pints and food 😊🎶👌

A very authentic place with super-good food. Highly recommended, at a mid-range price, in a spectacular setting. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the city.

We have just had an amazing Sunday lunch at the Tartine in Bushmills. The menu is really creative, especially for vegetarians and vegans, with two veggie and one vegan starter, one veggie and two vegan mains and six deserts, one of which was vegan. I had the red wine poached pear starter which was light and full of flavour, followed by the Tomato and basil Tofu crumb. My wife had the Beef Brisket, which she really enjoyed as the meat just fell apart. The mains came with seasonal vegetables, roast and mash potatoes. The tofu crumb was so light and delicous. The meals were full of flavour, with perfect roast potatoes, creamy light mash and vegetables still holding their crunch. We were defeated by the portions and despite the deserts looking equally exciting as the starters and mains, we had to decile. First class service from the staff who seemed to love their work and great classic cooking all round. The restaurant was light and welcoming, as was the ambience enhanced by the right level and selection of the background music. A perfect experience and it must be the best restaurant in the area and the best meal we have had over the last twelve days touring Ireland, and we have had some excellent meals, and with six days left I feel we will find a place that could do better.

Gran bar y un visitante regular. Sin embargo, realmente decepcionado hoy en día en la cantidad de personas que vapean en el bar principal y justo en frente del bar. No es agradable para los no fumadores / vaporizadores y no tiene sentido informar que las mismas personas habían estado vapeando en el bar durante una cantidad considerable de tiempo antes de sentarse.

Lovely place... shame the music is so blooming loud.... This is the case on the few times I've been in.. it really is off-putting... I love music... but I don't appreciate my ears being blasted when relaxing with a coffee...

Tacoboy Noel is a credit to the brand, I’ve never felt more welcome in a street food place, and I suppose the wee man can cook aswell, never had someone be able to make me eat vegetables like he can

Not sure if it serves food other than crisps, it started to get crowded at the Bar, which didn't seem to have any space to order another pint. Nothing personal, it's definitely a place to visit especially as you arrive in Larne by train & fancy refreshments

Get the pie of the day whatever it is. Best food we had in town.
