Granny Annies Kitchen in Belfast

We were recommended to this place by a tour guide and it did not disappoint. The roast dinner and dessert were fabulous - tasty and great portions.

Group of 6 adults. We popped in on the off chance of getting a drink and something to eat after the St Patricks day parade. The doorman/bouncer was helpful in finding us a table but it was right at the back of everything. We enjoyed our drinks and meal. The steak & ale pies were excellent and the Sunday lunch was a great portion size. The only thing that let this place down was the waitresses or lack of them. Really slow service and took ages for us to get the bill. Other than that I would think this place would be great for a night out.

I visited Granny Annies last Friday, 5th April, it was 7.30pm and I had my cousin with me. It was a quick.stop as I was catching a train back to Bangor, where I live. We'd only been there a maximum of 15 minutes, we hadn't spoken to anyone except to order a drink (which we didn't get to drink) one of the bouncers, door staff,whatever they call themselves told my cousin and I that we had to leave,we were given absolutely no reason, we were not allowed to finish our drink,I was extremely shocked. I have contacted the management of Granny Annies and explained everything to then,they took lots of notes,I told them to look at CCTV and speak to the doorman involved,they have that right..all of a sudden...they have gone very quiet

Shocking place! My daughter and a group of friends had booked and paid a deposit for dinner, as a celebration. When they arrived they were told to wait outside until their table was ready. When they were called they were then told that because there weren't enough 18 year olds in the group (3 of the 9 were 18), they would get their deposits back and had to leave. They tried to say that none of them would drink if that made it ok, but were refused. Licensing laws permit under 18s on premises up until 9pm and nowhere on their website does it state anything on these rules, they chose to make up. They left 9 girls stuck in Belfast on a Saturday, trying to find somewhere to eat, with no notice. I think they just thought they wouldn't make as much money from their party as others, so decided to ditch them. Rude man also needs addressed. Seems to be a common theme with this place!! Their miss was probably their blessing, food mediocre at best, anyway.

Hatten hier Abendessen + Bier. Der Service war nett, die Einrichtung ist absolut genial. Das essen war nicht grandios, aber gut. Ansich kann man dieses Lokal absolut empfehlen.

Fantastic all round experience and highly recommended. Fitted us in at short notice and we were not disappointed. Food was absolutely piping hot - hubby had roast dinner, I had chicken goujons all extremely high quality. The waiter was outstanding - could not fault him nor the restaurant. Would definitely recommend checking it out

This is the worst place I've ever been to in my life. Avoid at all costs. Rude staff and terrible food. Have never experienced anything like the rudeness we experienced. Especially in a place like Belfast where everybody is so kind and welcoming.

Walked in ahead of concert at SSE. Front bar was hopping and had a live band that sounded great and just for drinks, would certainly recommend. The food was very average though. Both of us got burgers and they were grand, but quite dry with minimal flavour which was disappointing

Staff were great, friendly and helpful. The food was not. I ordered the salt and chilli chicken, the chicken was tough and dry and the salt and chilli dressing was mainly just salt. The wok fried veg consisted of a few soggy strips of pepper. I managed to eat about half out of politeness, but I will not be back.

Been here b4 a few times but this time was not good. Had Family over from Australia wanted to show them abit of Belfast. Food was not good at all. I had the Southern fried chicken burger 🍔 that was cold. My Aunt had Fish and Chips. Chips wer hard and batter was on fish was to thick. Wen we got back to Hotel she was sick. My cuz had the Salmon his was OK. But I'll not be back here again. At the end of it I'll say Staff are brilliant and food is, ( Crap) Wish I had of taken photos sorr6 I didn't.

Four of us went for the bottomless brunch. Incredibly disappointed, it was overpriced and wouldn't advise anyone to waste £35, go somewhere else. Food options are poor and the food is even worse. The drink options are 4 jugs of juice and potentially a shot of alcohol if you're lucky. An absolute rip off. Don't advise anyone to go here for bottomless brunch.

Nipped in here tonight for dinner. Staff lovely. The food was cheap deep fried chicken gougons of poor quality no taste. Small burger. Chips cheap as well. McDonald’s would been a better choice. Sorry I didn’t go there. Paying expensive for a meal. And they can’t give u homemade chips or a good fresh battered chicken. Now days u should be getting good food for the price. Would not return or recommend his place

Quite possibly the worst food experience I've ever had in this country, for the price and what they served is disgraceful. Can't fault the staff at all but I can honestly say I will not be returning for the food.

This place is AMAZING. we only noticed it on our last night and we were absolutely gutted we hadn’t came before. The food was 10/10 and the atmosphere was fab, especially for having a meal. Would definitely come back!

While visiting my sister in northan ireland we went to belfast city where my sister said we should go to this place for nice food and great atmosphere and live music well it was everything she said it would be the food was stunning and the atmosphere brilliant and the live music was great cant wait to visit here again !!

Found this place by going for a walk from our apartment. Went on the Saturday evening and it was bouncing food was great Went back in the Sunday evening for more. Only reason it's not 5 is the food could be a little hotter for me

I WISH we had one of these back home because WOW, the food, drinks, staff and the whole vibe of the place was just great. The Caesar salad was one of the best I’ve had and listening to a band whilst we were eating was lovely! We only wish we had found this place before our last night. If in Belfast again, we will be back!

What a brilliant place to get some food and some fun. Excellent decor, excellent service, food was brilliant, atmosphere was very good, singers were good too. The kids were impressed and the parents.

Super. Jedno słowo mówi wszystko. Interesujące wnętrze. Może to dziwne, ale nawet wygląd toalety był fascynujący. Jedzenie pyszne, podane szybko,bez zbędnej zwłoki. Porcje duże. Muzyka na żywo dopełniła dzieła. Polecam. Po wizycie w muzeum Titanica relaks w tej restauracji był ,,wisienką na torcie dnia ".

Food was just ok - expected a bigger portion/higher quality given the price. Service was a bit meh also - took a while to take our order.

Came here on boxing day for a bite to eat...Very disappointed 😞..Very bland Chicken caeser salad .. It was freezing cold and just out of the fridge with no taste. My partner had the BML.. burger and wasn't impressed 😕.. Won't be rushing back 🤑

We picked this place because we Googled “gastro pub” and it came up and had 4.1/5 on Google. I wouldn’t recommend this place for food at all, but the drinks and atmosphere were nice. It seems it’s possibly geared towards tourists. There was a 3 man trad group & Irish dancers and they were good and the cocktail I had was nice. I ordered the open steak sandwich and it was a cheap piece of steak and very chewy. I’m not picky on my meat, I eat cheap supermarket steak all the time but if I’m paying for a meal I expect not to have to spit the steak out because I can’t chew through it. I’d honestly ask the owners to taste it yourself. My husband got goujans and wedges and his goujans were luke warm and definitely reheated. As a man who loves his goujans he was very disappointed! Overall would not recommend this place for food at all, food is thrown together with the aim seemingly to get people in the door. Can’t fault the staff - all were nice.

Super busy yet very well looked after

Disappointed really. Went for lunch. Food and service ok. Rather dark, unwelcoming. Love the Grannie Annie's in Enniskillen but this branch is sadly lacking in atmosphere. Gone it seems are the cocktail special prices. Just a disappointing, lacking diner. Seemed expensive for what you get.

It's a really good place. We went there on a Tuesday night and it was quite busy.

Friendly and fast staff. Food tasty and definitely enough for the money. Drinks good value for money. I was apart of an 11 person Christmas meal, some of the food was not hot though! Would go again.

Unfortunately the food is terrible. Wings came out in less than a minute, and they seemed to be the remnants of what someone likely sent back. Pizza looked awful. Loaded fries were averagecand a very small portion. Vegetable soup was passable. Looks like it might be good for drinks on a party night out, as seemed a pretty good atmosphere.

Was out for works Christmas dinner, £30 per person, turkey main course, mashed potato was freezing, Brussel sprouts were hard as a brick and unable to cut, service was appalling, hit with a £35 service charge which was uniformed when booking, never again 🤬🤬🤬🤬

What an absolutely disgusting and horrific experience. We booked a table of 20 and preordered and paid a deposit . When we arrived only 16 places had been set so some of us had to eat our starters standing up with no cutlery, they managed to sort 4 more sittings by the time the main arrived. We found the serving staff quite rude and unfriendly so when it came to pay we decided to decline the offer of paying a “discretionary “ 10% service charge as we did not really receive any service as such at our table. May I mention that we did however tip the bar staff with every round. After refusing to pay the service charge we were then very rudely and bluntly told that we had to leave by a member of staff. The little weasel like thing of human origin who announced itself as the owner then proceeded to patronise and attempt to belittle the organiser of our party , a young 24 year old woman who tried unsuccessfully to explain why we had declined to pay the service charge which was our legal right , this resulted in her crying her eyes out outside under the sympathetic eyes of the security staff who more or less agreed that this thing, the owner,was an absolute TUESDAY!!! I feel so sorry for the staff having to work for this thing. Please do not choose this venue over the countless others that are soooo much better in Belfast. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! There are so many better offerings in the city .

There was a group of around 20 of us for a hen party we had pre ordered the 2 course meal the food was good how ever the table wasn’t set up for all the group in which some had to eat there meal standing up until they eventually got us enough chairs … the bill was paid however we wasn’t prepared to pay the service charge when apparently the owner kicked off with one of the group but as we said if the table was set up correctly we would have paid it we was asked to leave after he spoke to a few of the group but was very rude and arrogant the group was spending loads of money behind the bar … even staff said he was out of order for speaking to one member the way he did as she was quite upset and was crying it is a choice to pay the service charge we didn’t get a great service and it wouldn’t have gone to the staff … we was also told by certain staff that he is horrible to work for wouldn’t recommend

Absolutely diabolical, 6 of us out for Xmas Dinner, poor portions , the table wasn't set even after they took the menus! Meals came still no cutlery or napkins, my meal and another was taken back because they were stone cold! We were supposed to have the table for 2 hrs after that you're shoved off elsewhere ! In our case it was out into the cold!!! The attitude of the staff was awful and that included the manager who finally appeared after requesting his presence several times! My advice AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

We arrived from dublin after hearing great things. We didn't realise we could reserve, but the front door staff were very accommodating, and we were brought to our table. We received menus from a very friendly waitress, and our experience started. Live music 🎶 in the background from the on-stage music. The food order was taken and we ordered drinks while we waited for it to arrive. Within no time at all, the food was out to our table. Warm fresh and delicious. Every bit was eaten. More drinks were ordered, and our waitress asked if we would like desert. Sure, it would be rude, not too. I went with the chocolate fudge cake while my wife and kids had a selection of ice cream 🍦. I would highly recommend 👌

Went here on 1st of December, had table booked,food was good,was very very quick,then the staff member took the bill down as soon as we put our forks down we had'nt even finished our drinks,5 minutes later another staff member came with the card machine and said I will take payment for the bill,this was all within 30 minutes,to b honest I thought it was very cheeky and rude,we just paid and left.

Meh. Food was OK. Wait staff only came around when food was almost done but we were missing some items.

Lovely restaurant that seems to be frequented by locals. There was a live singer which added to the chilled vibe.

Slightly disappointing visit today, had different experience before, but apparently when grabbing a beer and listening to the very nice live music I wasn't allowed to sit anywhere other than hidden besides the stage, despite asking specifically asked at the door. Anyway, it's a nicely decorated place and the beer tastes fine. Probably won't come back though.

A little overrated!! Staff standing around

The open sandwiches are amazing, especially the steak with tobacco onions, it was soo good we visited tge next day to have Belly pork and a Guiness Pie with a side of those amazing tobacco onions. And of course some Guinness to wash it down. The Guiness was a perfect pairing with the steak sandwich too!

Came here in the break of the snooker the staff were so amazing and the food on our 2 day visit was beautiful xx

Went on a Friday night and although it was busy we managed to be seated. Food was nice and came relatively quickly considering it was busy. Music was good but quite loud so hard to talk to each other. If you like live music then definitely worth a visit.

Awful food. Cold food not cooked properly. What's happened to this place. Service appalling. Not asked when seated would you like a drink or water. Had to go to bar to get drinks eventhough staff standing around. A few people eating. Who's cooking here?? Must be the night porter.......

We were sat right under the speaker at the door as you walk in, we couldn't hear each other speak the volume of the music was so loud. It was also freezing every time to door opened. Our table was sticky and hadn't been cleaned, we asked for it to be cleaned twice and staff member never returned. The food was really disappointing and overpriced. Two of us had chicken goujons which were as hard as rocks and the chips were cold. Drinks are also very expensive, £9.00 for a glass of warm rose. Worst experience we have had in Belfast. Would not recommend

Very busy, lively and good entertainment

This is the first time we have been to Belfast and we went on the sightseeing bus tour and spotted Granny Annie's kitchen. We wanted to see the England rugby match that was in at 4pm, we were early, and asked if there were any time constants with the tables, we were told, if somebody wanted our large table (there were only 2 of us) they would find us somewhere else to sit. We had a few drinks watched the rugby and had some gorgeous food. We were served by some lovely ladies and gentlemen. There was also live music, which was amazing. We would love to return to Belfast and we would definitely make Granny Annie's one if our stops. Well done and thank you.

Fantastic buzz and ambience. Food,drink, entertainment and service was impeccable xx. The live singer and an amazing voice. We were not rushed and it was reasonably priced.

Very popular but plenty of room. You can sit near the front (more quiet) or in the back with live music, or outside (drinks only). Great atmosphere, tasty food, great Guinness, and Daniel (our server) was fun to chat with. Highly recommend Granny Annies and you won't be disappointed.

A unique pub with a very interesting decor (ceiling and walls full of upside down items), tables a quirky industrial look.Great live music and friendly service. The food was just ok. The Beer Battered Cod was decent ( a little too oily), the mushy peas delicious the chunky chips were too chunky for my liking. The Roasted Chicken Stirfry was a HUGE Disappointment... the Chicken was in very large chunks, therefore a little tuff, and there was minuscule rice (I don't think there were 40 rice kernels in the entire dish!), the vegetable were overcooked. A little pricey for just ok food.

I hadn’t been in Granny Annie’s in Belfast in a number of years and attended on Saturday night with some friends for a birthday! Saturday night disco was pumping, hit after hit! Think you have found some new regulars 👏🏻

We where here in February, another 50th, same thing , however food not as good this time , lack of trimmings!! 14 of us , spent almost £400 , then asked to leave as no drinks table booked . 2nd time fgs won't be back !! Btw music fab , DJ 10/10

Good bar. However, rude staff member. We were asked to move several times, due to table bookings (fair enough). So we had to stand between tables as there was nowhere else to stand or sit, for a member of staff to come over and say...

Unique spot in Belfast. Delicious cocktails and great when on 2 for £10 (Monday - Friday from 12 Noon - Midnight). Funky decor. Recommend the frozen strawberry daiquiri, doesn’t lose flavour like some frozen cocktails do and really refreshing 🍓 (Fiddle me silly cocktail on right)

Food was okay, and very plentiful. We received great service from the staff. Would recommend and would visit again.

The service was quick and attentive and the atmosphere was great with the live music. The food was average. We went for the chilli chicken and chunky chips. The chicken was nice but the chips were a bit bland and tasteless. The meals aren’t the cheapest and I had heard good things about the restaurant so was a bit disappointed. However for a drink I probably would return as I say the place has a good lively atmosphere

Wow Wow Wow. This has to be the best pub for food, beer, service and atmosphere. From the moment we walked in we felt we belonged here. The food is out of this world and the staff are just the best. This is our go to place while visiting this beautiful city of Belfast. Love love love ❤️.

Paid £15.95 for oven food basically rock hard chicken goujons, and oven chips, £15.95 for salt and chill chicken which is the same as the goujons with just veg slapped on top shocking bad

We both ordered the steak & ale pie. It was loaded with tender pieces of beef, and included a side. Also took advantage of the 2 for 10 cocktail special. There is outside seating, bar area seating which gets loud when the band started, and...

Nice place. We had a pan eared salmon and a burger, both good. Nice atmosphere, and importantly, inexpensive drinks.

Fabulous bar, just popped in for a quick bite and a couple of cocktails. The atmosphere was buzzing (Saturday afternoon) especially loved the Irish dancing and the champ.

Just arrived in Belfast; my friend & I wanted an early tea and found Granny Annie's Kitchen not far from the Hilton where we were staying. Good recommendations from our waitress both for food and drink. VG service.

Food was amazing, very great portions and good drink menu. I found the whole atmosphere charming and it was a lot of fun to bring a child to. There was a live performance also which really added the the ambience. Our server was so friendly and attentive. No faults.
