The Devenish in Belfast

Went for family event. It was a most enjoyable day

Went on Paddy's day so was probably busier than usual. Really well laid out bar area. Had food in the restaurant end which was great. Took a while to get served at the bar, but was mostly due to it being rammed full.

Beautiful food with great service went for lunch food was delicious

One of our locals. Quiet on a wed evening. Just a nice atmosphere for a wee pint of magners.

Asked for steak to be cooked medium rare. Came out overdone so was sent back and then came out too rare! Didn’t eat much of the meal (I paid £26 for!) as the steak just put me off unfortunately. The waitress that served us was so lovely and helpful (blonde hair with an Irish accent) and did send the steak back and get the re-made one out quickly. I would eat here again but wouldn’t have a steak!

Lovely place, Great Food and Lovely Staff.

Just at an event, but it's a great place. I'm going to return to try the food. If I were to do an event, this would be top of my list.

Brought my mother (88) for dinner. Had a great time, she really enjoyed the pensioner special, soup and roast dinner for £10. Highly recommended good live music too

Food and drinks were nice enough, but service although friendly, was very scattered. At every stage they had to be asked multiple times for drinks or meals, got meals mixed up, waiting on drinks and then getting a double order. Music was too loud for dining, football switched off after 70 minutes of a match and never got it sorted. When we asked for the bill, it was very expensive and then realised they tried to charge £400 for a sticky toffee pudding, when pointed out the staff laffed and blamed each other. Would give another go, but probably not in a hurry.

My three kids and I ate in the Devenish tonight....All of our food was delicious, pipping hot, so tasty and great portions. The service was 1st class, the staff couldn't have been nicer and they were all so good at their job and went the extra mile. Couldn't recommend enough, we'll be back very soon.

Desafortunadamente, esta es mi segunda experiencia negativa con la comida en Devenish, y estoy escribiendo esta reseña con la esperanza de ayudar a mejorar las visitas futuras para otros. Durante mi primera visita un domingo, la comida estaba fría. Mi compañero tuvo que devolverle sus costillas, que luego fueron devueltas después de ser recalentadas en un microondas, aún de mala calidad. Mi asado del domingo tenía porciones frías, incluyendo la carne, puré y verduras. Decidí darle otra oportunidad el fin de semana pasado con amigos, pero una vez más, la comida se quedó corta. Mi masa de pescado estaba completamente separada del pescado y carecía de frescura. Las fichas eran tibias, y mis amigos experimentaron el mismo problema. Para colmo, mi café con leche fue servido apenas caliente. Parece que la comida y las bebidas están sentadas demasiado tiempo antes de ser servidas, lo que afecta la calidad. Aunque el personal siempre es encantador, no volveré por la comida a menos que se aborden estos problemas.

My friend and I had dinner before the Paddy Raff show, neither of us had ever been to the Devenish before, we were very impressed with everything, from the beautiful outdoor seating to the amazing inside, there was a lovely atmosphere about the place, and a really good 'vibe', the service was excellent, the food was delicious, overall 10/10, we will definitely be back 😊

Worst lasagne I've ever tasted. The garlic sauted potatoes were totally insipid and the garlic bread was just soggy and tasteless like the rest of the meal. Just as well they have a great selection of beers to wash it down with.

Greatly improved from my last visit. The service was excellent, the food was very tasty and good value for money. The background music and atmosphere was also very good.

Attended for a wedding beautiful venue staff where amazing had a fantastic day

Tuvimos nuestra boda en el Devenish el viernes, los recomendaría encarecidamente. Leanne y el equipo eran increíbles tenía todo hasta un buen arte! Todo fue tan bien, la comida era genial, pastel era delicioso! Todo el personal era tan amable y servicial, que fue el mejor día! Todos los huéspedes quedaron tan impresionados con el lugar y les encantó que todo estaba bajo un mismo techo! ¡Los paquetes que ofrecen, no conseguirás ningún otro sitio por el precio! Un gran lugar de boda!

La comida era genial y el servicio muy atento y amable, ocupado como el fútbol estaba en. Gran ambiente! No he estado en un tiempo, pero sin duda volveré pronto!

They don't seem to take issues or complaints seriously or even attempt to acknowledge them. Will avoid here from now on.

Great servers, terrible food! Flat diet coke was sent back and our server was very apologetic. Starter was 4 small but crispy prawns on top of cold "noodles" drown in a thick gloopy sauce which can only have come from a wholesale tub. Main course of basic tasteless, but plentiful, watery spaghetti bolognese. Tasteless even after being salted 3 times. Came with a small edge of cold garlic ciabatta.

Love this place, train stop just outside. Lovely bar..modern ..dj and music fantastic. Only thing they ran out if Suavugnon blanc! Bad management.. I will come back look forward to a nuce white wine..Marlborough on the menu. One bar man went over and beyond to help me find a nice wine..very handsome guy. Thank you for your great service.

Great bar, had a fantastic time

went to devinish for family celebration on sunday . we got seated at 5 no staff members came near us until my daughter approached them at 530 . they took order starters came out after 6 peoples starters were missing along with childs pizza they forgot to cook it . mains came out at 6.30 my sons steak was freezing which was sent bk noone really enjoyed there meal . it was worst experience eating out ive ever had . waitress was not at fault as she was run off her feet. i sent email to the manager but no one replied

Really nice food and lots of it, portions were bigger than expected. Great sport bar too.

Went for dinner and a few drinks with friends. Service was fantastic. Staff were very polite and nothing was a bother for them. We will definitely be back.

Called in for a quiet drink on Saturday night only to get my eye put out by what can only be described as an anaconda that came swinging toward me at immense speed. I’m still picking the pubes out.

Utterly disgusted at the event that has recently taken place in the Devenish!! Cancelling my grand daughters christening and I will never step foot in there again!! Shameful

Went a couple of weeks ago for a concert and it was diabolical there wasn't enough seats for everyone and when the doors opened the bar wasn't ready people had to wait on the beer kegs being turned on wasn't enough staff on to deal with the crowd so alot of the time we had to go in next door to the main bar to get a drink so ended up missing half of the show was a bit of a joke to be honest

First time visiting this great place. Here for an engagement party, impressive venue, hip and trendy decor. The staff member who served our table was so attentive and helpful, from taking drinks orders, food order, clearing tables and all whilst so friendly and cheerful, made our night, thankyou! (Blonde haired lady with Irish accent). Food was lovely, the band was so good, really enjoyed the music. And then a DJ to end the night. Highly recommended, pity I didn't live nearer!

We had a lovely experience here for my partner's 30th birthday dinner on NYE. Everyone enjoyed their food which was really reasonably priced and the service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly

Somehow The Devenish can't pay their casual staff on time if lucky. Totally disgusting and disgraceful. I await their ridiculous answer...

Advertised a 2 for £10 cocktail promo for Friday nights but whenever we got there at 8pm the bar staff said that they weren’t doing cocktails. Only reason we went there. The bar wasn’t even busy

First time eating here and was not disappointed. There is a carpark at the complex. We went on a Thursday evening and it was quite busy, even with this the food arrived quickly. The server was friendly and came back to our a couple of times during our meal to check if everything was ok or we needed anything. The food was lovely, their peppered sauce was very tasty and both our mains were a good sized portion. They have an outdoor area with picnic tables and many people were taking advantage of the good evening to enjoy a drink or meal outside.

Had a great Sunday afternoon meal and drinks with family, we spent 4 hours at our table and never felt like we over stayed our time. Would book every Sunday if I could afford it

Great service, great staff and plenty of options at the bar.

Every time I go I realise why I never go. Place is awful just way too expensive and can never get home on busy nights (obviously not the restaurants fault). Young obnoxious crowd each time.

Beautiful bar and great service

Sat outside cos the weather was fantastic. Very pleasant place to sit with plenty of tables and chairs. Not sure that I would have been keen on sitting inside as it's quite dark. Not sure if that's just for the ambience but not my preferred setting. Not sure how often the glasses would have been cleared from the table as I took in empties each time I visited the bar! Staff were nice.

We went on Father's day, so it was understandably busy. However we had to wait an hour for our main course and 45 minutes for a dessert. For only a group of four people, we all thought it was incredibly slow. I think they forgot about our dessert as I ordered ice cream and it was slightly melted. Furthermore, we got the offer for two courses, however we almost got over charged if we hadn't have noticed the error. The live music was very good but it was a shame that our food took so long

At the mark on the Thursday we ordered 1 soup as a starter.2 main courses.after a wait of 30 minutes the starter and mins arrived at the same time.on Saturday the initial service was slow but afterwards service greatly improved.

Went to comedy gig here and it was a great setup. Good sized room and multiple bars.

Great service, great buffet food selection, great DJ, only issue was the teeny tiny slow lift and mobility challenged people, but overall, would highly recommend!!

Food and staff were lovely. Some staff including a slim fella who was a supervisor or something was unhelpful when I needed a charging port but the bar manager sorted this out.

Music was unbearably loud within the confines of small private function room The food provided was very good. The meagre toilet facilities were embarrassing and had obviously not been finished to any sort of standard all , most disappointing.

Got the stuffed turkey and ham.... was absolutly busted after it.... grub was great... kids enjoyed it too... good selection on the menu and luvli atmosphere.... Will def b back

A lovely place for a meal or a drink. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. There is lots of seating that allows for larger groups to sit together. We saw a play in the upstairs room, and although it was sold out, we didn't feel crowded. A nice place to spend an evening. The only thing I found that was a bit negative was that the choice in beer on tap was different from other bars. Still, we did fine!

Perfect lunch menu. The bar/restaurant wasn't busy so service was quick which is actually the norm in here. Lunch (steak ciabatta) was amazing. I would highly recommend it. The lady server was very friendly and welcoming

Great for parties. Had a private party for my son's christening and the place was fantastic. They had a great room, great staff and great food. For anyone having a private party I would highly recommend the Devenish. They take care of pretty much everything at a very reasonable cost.

Me and my family went for dinner and drinks for my birthday on the 27th of February and the food and service was first class, thank use again for another fantastic evening.

Food was average, plenty of seating, staff not the friendliest.

I like to start of, with I wasn't happy with the service I got tonight. I brought my family out for my daughters confirmation 10 adults and 12 kids. Took them long to get served first. 1st, the kids food some was missing and had to wait 20mins before I realised they forgot. 2nd Have no non alcoholic drinks for us drivers. 3rd. After adults starters waited another 50mins before we got our mains out. And they got some of the orders wrong.not as if it was busy on a Wednesday night. Don't get me wrong we all went out for my 40th few weeks before and was more of us and the service was amazing from a lady NICULA. But tonight took the biscuit don't feel I could go back for food again. The food was still amazing but need to be sharper coming out. Far play they did give us discount. Dev you need to look into this more.
