Amazing bar, but bring a jacket!

Brilliant very busy bar with great live music, considering how busy it gets the service at the bar is great. Drinks process are average for the bars in the area.

Came here for some drinks on a night out and really enjoyed ourselves. The doorman was friendly, and the staff behind the bar. It was quiet as was a Thursday night, but the musician was brilliant and we really enjoyed the live music. Still a nice atmosphere - would definitely come back here again!

Great wee spot. The food was faultless, absolutely delicious. Service was first class, a busy and efficient team. Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon out, thank you.

We where trying a few pubs on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve when we arrived at the Thirsty Goat looked around found a table 6 seats found it difficult to get attention of the bar staff who where anything but happy. Went up order food and was told our table was not for food and I don’t mean politely told we drank up and left miserable place.

Whoever was the singer on the 18th Nov was brilliant. I personally liked his songs that eve. Great atmosphere. We liked the decor. Security was nice and friendly.

Visited on a Sunday during Christmas after visiting previously. We ordered a start and main course, unfortunately we had to ask for cutlery after each course. In all fairness there was only two waitresses covering the whole bar on a busy Sunday night. It was so busy, while we were eating a couple (not part of our party) asked to sit next to us during our main course. Whole experience was average. But would visit again - just not at Christmas and for drinks only.

Worst service I’ve got yet, accused of asking some girls Nephew did they want “drugs” was aggressively escorted out by 2 bouncer, and was told they had audio of me asking this person did they want drugs… complete joke I will be filing a proper report tomorrow when I get home, nobody should be treated the way I was in that bar, bouncing staff really needs looked at!! Serious Accusation to be accused of with no proof, will be ringing tomorrow to ask for this “audio”

We were only in for drinks but the atmosphere and music where great!

Recommend by a friend’s son, bar and restaurant. Walked in and was greeted by someone straight away . Took us to a lovely seat , lots to choose from the food and drink menu. Two of us had the Christmas roast dinner and one of us had the chicken , mash and vegetables. The atmosphere in this place was amazing. Staff were very attentive always making sure we had everything we needed . We all can say without a doubt this was the best food we have eaten , the flavours were great and plenty to eat too. I have never been a fan of Brussel sprouts but whatever they do to them were fantastic. The three of us shared a sticky toffee pudding too. Customer service 10/10 the same for the food and the atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is visiting Belfast .

My advice to you is check your drinks BEFORE lifting from the bar. As the bar is extremely busy and cramped I passed drinks I had ordered back to a friend. Not a minute later whilst I was waiting on my change from paying, she handed them back to me saying they were only water! I'm not a person to cause a scene so I politely told the busy barman. He wasn't very helpful, so I again, politely requested the manager. He turned about without speaking and I waited a few minutes for the manager. His demeanor was very sharp and condescending, but to be fair, it was 3 deep or more at the bar, so he was more than likely under pressure. But his behaviour was totally unprofessional to the extent of being argumentative and down right rude. A few people commented this to me after the event, asking if I was okay. I just wanted the issue resolved without causing unwanted hassle. I have to admit the other staff members were lovely, perhaps Chris needs to take a leaf from their book on manners and customer care, for which he most certainly could avail from a refresher course As I was in tears by this man's actions I passed money to my friend to buy replacements. Unfortunately this marred a lovely evening out with friends and my stay in Belfast.

Food here wa excellent. I wasn't too adventurous ordering the fish, but it was fresh and wonderful. The service was swift and friendly. Will go back.

Really rude girl cleaning tables was horrible to me for no reason i was asking about the tables that were free , she looked me up and down and everything ! Maybe she was having a bad day but my god the looks i got as if i asked do you sell heroine here - i said can we have these seats theres a group of us . Wont foot the place again . Rudeee

Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Bit pricey but slap bang in the centre of a busy quarter in the capital, so expected.

Service and atmosphere fine. Nothing to write home about. A bit disturbed to see such blatant ai art on the front of the bar. Can they not afford to pay an artist to deisgn something for them? Its off-putting and comes off as cheap.

They would serve 100% more drink if they had more staff, I called in on a Sunday night and waited 15 minutes and never got served, meanwhile I observed 5 staff washing glasses and restocking but only 2 staff serving drinks.

A brilliant couple of nights spend here on our trip to Belfast. A really friendly fun relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very friendly also. Can't wait to go back.

One to swerve unless you've a scouse tan and local. Rude staff and vile service. There are plenty of other bars in Belfast, so do yourself a favour and don't attempt to drink here if you're not a local

Got chased off my seat by staff while having a quick drink, had to stand beside back door to finish my bottle, couldn't get out quick enough

Not a bad place, but someone needs to have a stern word to the staff. The lad with the Jameson top and beard, sitting there chewing gum, leaning on the benches, wiping his nose and beard with his gloved hand. Literally half a dozen waitresses all standing around gasbagging, one drinking behind the counter at the food serving up area. Was like a social gathering of teenagers rather than a serious operation. Unless they sort their professionalism and service, will be going elsewhere in future.

After we waited a long time for a seat, they didn't feel like serving us, so we left again.

Came a few times during our weekend away, prices are abit on the high side but we had a good time, can get very busy with 5 deep at the bar, but it was a weekend after all.... Would recommend for a few👍

Amazing place and staff wonderful.

I’m not usually a soup person but I’m so glad I gave it a go - delicious. Lovely staff too which made our experience even more enjoyable.

I had an early dinner here. The beef brisket boxty was delicious. The chips were perfectly crispy. I only wish that you could hear the music from the restaurant section.

Suficientemente agradable pub, pero fuimos por el guiso irlandés y fue muy decepcionante. El guiso irlandés debe estar dominado por buenas patatas harinosas y no debe ser absolutamente un guiso de salsa marrón con unas pocas patatas cerosas. Lo que nos sirvieron fue una cazuela de cordero razonablemente agradable (servido con tostadas de masa madre inglesa en lugar del tradicional pan de trigo) tendrá que seguir buscando un guiso irlandés decente en Belfast.

Servicio terrible. Personal del bar demasiado preocupado por hablar entre sí en lugar de servir a los clientes. Tres pedidos de bebidas que tuvieron que repetirse 3 veces. Personal muy grosero e inútil.

Conseguí 2 tuberías principales que eran excelentes si caro. (Pollo y una hamburguesa) El postre fue un poco de un desastre, pedido de limón posset consiguió merengue de limón sin el merengue y crema falsa. A esos precios, crema de verdad, por favor. El servicio fue excelente.

Out with a few mates, I had a few drinks 🍸 and it was amazing in this place definitely recommended.

We called in for a quick drink before going to dinner in another restaurant. The barman ignored me and my two friends. After serving two people who had been after us in the queue I said to him that he maybe hadn’t realised we were in front of both the people he had just served and would he mind serving us next. He responded by scowling at me and putting the palm of his hand up and dismissing me. So very rude. Safe to say we left and won’t be back.

Fun place to be. We Didn't get the name of the bar tender, unfortunately, but he was brilliant. Served us each tike woth a smile and humour, staff kept the place clean and where very welcoming

Just got home from Belfast. Fell into this place yesterday (Sunday). Only popped in for a couple of drinks but ended up staying about 7 hours! Lots of live music. 3 different acts who were all fab! Spent hours dancing and would have carried on if they weren't closing. Atmosphere was buzzing. Popped back today for some lunch. I had the seafood chowder which was amazing, 2 friends had the Irish stew which they loved and another gad the pea and ham soup - which was massive! Would definitely recommend and would 100% go back when next in Belfast.

Food nice, ask for a table by the front was told no there reversed put us in a dark corner, while we were there for 45mins- and hour none of those tables were used nor did they have a sign on it, They charged £1.80 for a pint of blackcurrant so be ware 😳

Went to this place on couple of days cause it has good reviews and people recommended this place to me. On the first day, one lady told me there’s is no space for one person! I have seen plenty empty seats, then I left the place anyway. On the second day, another woman told they don’t provide food for only one person! What’s the logic? Then I asked can I do take away, and she said no. This was very arrogant and leave me with many questions. 1. Is Northern Ireland no good for solo travellers, or diplomats or solo students? 2. Is this restaurant racist? 3. If you have enough space why can’t you provide food for one person? 4. Is Northern Ireland safe to travel?

Italian who spent two days in Belfast. I was looking for something typical and I was satisfied. The lady in the dining room was friendly and, despite struggling with the language, she managed to understand my intentions and offered me an excellent stew and equally delicious apple cider. All very good

The food was not that good, very greasy. The drinks were good. But for 2 drinks and 2 main courses it came to 100$ Canadian. That’s ridiculous. Service wasn’t that great either. Wouldn’t recommend

I visited here with my young family. We came for our evening meal together. The food was absolutely delicious, I had the boxty. The service was good, despite it being very busy. I've recommended this place to others who are visiting Belfast soon.

Bar person insisted that I say please when ordering, said that “ manners cost nothing “ . Possibly he could have asked me with a please and not refused me , as a grown up , customer, , unless I said please to him. I have been so insulted by this small individual and cannot understand how an establishment of this calibre would employ such a rude and ill mannered individual to serve their customers .

I went there yesterday (Sunday) and ordered a roast chicken. I waited for half an hour before my food arrived. It was one of the worst roast chicken I ever had. A Very tiny piece of chicken which was so tough and red in the middle. Two small pieces of roast potatoes that were so hard to break with your knife. It's a shame because I liked the place. Definitely not going back again.

We stayed in Belfast while touring Ireland and spent a night at the Thirsty Goat’s beer garden after dinner and had a great time! A lot of drink options, super nice waiters and the people we met there were super kind too!

We weren't planning to stop here but the sounds of some great live music lured us in. We opted for a couple of large whiskies. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was superb.

The Thirsty Goat was an incredible experience with my five friends! The atmosphere was lively, and the drinks were fantastic—perfect for a fun night out. We can't wait to return for more good times!

Absolutely loved this place! From the outside it seems quite ordinary but there is a palpable air of charm and homeliness to the place which lends to the whole experience. Service was swift and efficient but very friendly and attentive. Menu itself was elegant and I particularly loved their Thirsty Goat Boxty with traditional Irish potato cake, chicken, mushrooms and wilted spinach served with a creamy white wine sauce. Quite filling and very reasonably priced! Husband got the Seafood Chowder which was really excellent albeit a bit seafood-minimal. Still worth it but had they really gone all out on this, it could have been one of their go-tos, for sure. I would love to come back one day and it's really the sort of place you want to keep returning to for your nights-out and the spaciousness of the restaurant is perfect for parties and gatherings. What a wonderful and well-fed GOAT!

A recommended place to eat typical dishes. The Irish Stew is very good, a must-try. Great attention, and a very pleasant atmosphere. Also in the afternoon/evening they have live music.

First visit to this place in Belfast. There was live music. The atmosphere was great. The staff was very friendly and so were the guests. We were recognized as non-natives and unexpected conversations started. There was a lot of fun.

We didn't try food but they have gluten free beer and cider. Very good atmosphere with live music.

The pub was very busy and we grabbed the last table. There were lots of groups of people and there was live music playing so it was quite loud too. We ordered the beef brisket boxty and seafood chowder. The portions were huge and it was real value for money. The chowder had large chunks of fish and potato. It was really tasty. My husband loved the boxty and has said several times since that it was the best meal of our holiday.

Enjoyed typical Irish dishes, accompanied by a Guinnes "beer".

Didnae eat but others looked good no smoking in outside garden ??? Only fault smokers get punished enuff....

This is a great wee place. We sat in the outside area for drinks. Everyone was so friendly and there was a live singer which surprised me for a Monday afternoon. A great wee find!

Good experience. A little dirty and in need of quality furnishings as the current ones are worn. Severs try their best and are friendly. Bouncers are friendly enough.

Staff really friendly, food was delicious. So good we went back again! There was live music in beer garden which made the nights even better!

Nice dinner with a live concert, special mention for the singer, great voice and very good choice of repertoire. Diverse choice of dishes: world cuisine + Irish dishes! The service is great. Only downside, music too loud.

The reviews for this place don’t do it justice! We only drank here, didn’t have food. Affordable drinks with Heverlee and Guinness around the £5.80 mark per pint. We got to Belfast for a couples city break (aged 34) on Friday and headed here about 2pm… live music from the get go… (at a nice volume) Comfortable surroundings, good drinks, and the ideal time to grab a perfect spot to see us in to the evening….We ended up staying all day until 7pm! Lovely staff, and a definite must visit if you’re in Belfast!

The Thirsty Goat While working away, my colleague and I visited The Thirsty Goat. The food was solid—we started with wings and both had burgers, which were tasty and filling. The Guinness was good and well-poured. The pub has a good atmosphere, with a quirky charm. There's an outside covered area next to the main pub that serves alcohol and features live music every night. If you're looking for decent food, good drinks, and a relaxed vibe, The Thirsty Goat is worth checking out.

We had the lentil soup, seafood chowder, and a caesar salad to share. The seafood chowder was the best I've had and the lentil soup was excellent. Top experience, highly recommended!

Ok so we love great places to eat and just hang out, this place checks all the marks and I will add the Carbonara is the best I have had, they have a great selection of beer my husband likes too.

Spent 2 nights running here, last night we were served by a young bloke in the bar area who had only been working on the bar a couple of weeks, top service and really pleasant to deal with. Tonight we ate food there and it was delicious.
