I always return here when I visit Belfast. Great service and the freshest fish (though meat and veggie also available). It is always full when i visit so booking at peak times advisable

Nice spot in city centre. Friendly staff. Food nice and well presented. Not that busy when we were there so the atmosphere wasn't there but I'm sure it is good at best of times. Good options on menu even if you don't like fish.

We were very disappointed as we travelled 6 miles due to the reviews . The fish was tasty however the chips were horrendous .

The fish was delicious—fresh and cooked perfectly. The service was top-notch. The restaurant was chic, but comfortable. The toilets were spotless! This restaurant fulfilled all my wishes for a dinner out.

Fantastic restaurant, food was delicious especially the fritto misto. It was a massive sharing platter for 4 people and only cost £80 which was exceptional value for the amount of food included in it. We struggled to finish it. All cocktails were made fresh and they even made some cocktails for us that weren’t on the menu. Customer service was definitely 10/10. Margaret made our visit extra special. Thank you

Disappointed with venue and prices

The best fish and chips I've ever tried. We had the lightly buttered cod, chips, tartare sauce, and mushy peas. It was delicious!

OMG this is the best fish and chips you could ever have! As for desert, I have just eaten the best desert in my life; Tart Tatin was gorgeous if not fantastic. The right amount of apple but it's that hidden extra ... A slight burnt taste of caramel plus of course lovely ice cream to go with it. Words Just cannot describe it properly. Called in for a bite after shopping. Service was excellent. We both had the haddock and chips which were delicious. The awards this restaurant have won are well deserving. We would certainly recommend to anyone visiting Belfast.

I ordered the fish and chips and it was nice, but it was definitely not worth the price of over 21quid. The fish was small and the portion of chips was tiny. I am afraid it is not worth the money and I would not be coming back.

My husband and I, with small baby in pram, called in to Fish City late Saturday afternoon without a booking. We were greeted warmly by front of house and were delighted to get a table. We had never been here and we were impressed by the lovely atmosphere and the interior industrial maritime decor. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Although it's a fish restaurant, we actually wanted a Christmas dinner and had the most beautiful turkey and ham dinner, costing £19.95 pp lunch menu. Side of greens (mange tout, brocolli, sprouts, kale) was included and were firm and flavoursome. Lovely to come across this restaurant in the heart of Belfast. We'll definitely be back to try the fish.

Nice food, both the fish and chips and the desserts. Not inexpensive but I visited twice in my Belfast holiday. The staff looked after me even though I was a single male. Nice civilised ambience.

We called here on 3rd for a late lunch. We’d no booking but got a table quickly and ordered only the main course each of Cod & chips, crispy fish gougon wrap, fish tacos, and the other fish Goujons, with two cokes and two pots of tea. It arrived quickly and was very tasty but for the money the portion sizes were small, similar to child size portions we’ve seen elsewhere. Just wasn’t worth £90. Could have much better with a slightly larger portion of chips, as spuds are cheap, and peas or coleslaw to bulk it out. Could have been better so will try somewhere else next time.

Had a fritto platter to share, the scampi was delicious, however the chips were quote soggy and akin to chips from fish and chip shops. Personally would've preferred crispier chips if eating out at a restaurant

Disappointing. The portion size is very small. They portray as Fine Dining, asking for a reservation when you come in, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. The food is acceptable. Service was okay. Price is very over rated for what is provided.

I made a point of returning to this restaurant when back in Belfast because the fish is fresh and beautifully presented. The service is friendly and down to earth We particularly enjoyed the prawn tacos. We were glad we booked as the place was full even on a rainy November Monday.

Looking for somewhere to eat and came across this restaurant. It was busy when we arrived but we were given a table upstairs & was advised if a better table became available we could move & it did by the window which was great, the staff were lovely & food great.

When reading the menu, yes, it’s not cheap but you get value for your money. We had the bouillabaisse and the Sea Bass Gnocchi. Both dishes were lovely but the gnocchi exceed our expectations. Great service too. Would come back and recommend to friends who visit Belfast.

Superb fish and chips -- best of several enjoyed during a two-week period. Made the point of a return visit during our time in Belfast. Seafood linguine and sea bass were also superb. Enjoyed outdoor dining on one occasion (too cold the second time).

We had dinner at Fish City this evening and it was fantastic! I had the cod risotto and it was perfection (even with the rice sub) and my husband really enjoyed his prawn tacos - the service was lovely, everyone was so welcoming, I wish we had more time in Belfast so we could go back :)

Service was a bit slow but our server was brand new. We had two entrees, bbq teriyaki prawns and dim sum. Prawns were unique and delicious, but the dim sum was just okay. Unfortunately, the server neglected to put in our order for their award winning fish ‘n chips so we didn’t get to try them. I was there yesterday to order chips. I specifically asked for two things, 1. Are the chips cooked in animal fat or oil? Because, I don't eat animal products. This seafood restaurant has been known for its fish and chips. Although the fish is crispy and tasted fresh, it is a lot smaller than what was expected. The chips that I got was like leftovers from the bottom of the pan. So the quality and tastes are good, quality control is lacking. As for other dishes, I was told they were ok.

Positive: The staff are friendly and attentive. The location is central and easy to reach. Negative: Possibly the most over priced food I’ve ever encountered. The food itself was bland and bizarrely presented. Overall The food was edible and the experience as a whole was salvaged by the attentive staff.
