Browns Fish & Chips in Belfast

Can never get an order right always something missing

No food arrive order was placed at 7pm rang the store 3 times to be told each time it was on its way I could have ordered from Dublin and it would have been quicker that a 10 min down the road to my house

Don't know how they get an award for their fish and chips I had a fish supper from it I waited 20 minutes because they were to busy doing the delivery food, one person on doing both and answering the phone, the batter on the fish was soggy and chips were hard the cod wasn't bad but for the price it was a disgrace. I would like to point out the fish were cooked and sitting inside the hot plate they were going out on the delivery while I had to wait on mine.

Fish was outstandingly tasty and quite large.

Worst service you will ever get 35 mins wait in the chippy for a hotdog while the stuff are standing about talking and laughing they need new staff or new owners

Best chippy on the road nothing compares, clean and tastey. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Order by phone for a collection at 1730, was told to collect my food at 1755. Arrived at 1800 and my food was not ready until 1830. To add insult to injury, when I got home they had gotten my order wrong. Price of advice if you hungry, make a price of toast and forget about this place😡 Guys you need to check the accuracy of your response, I approached a member of staff, told them i was there for a collection, gave them my name and paid for my order within 1 minute of entering the shop. But then your response just highlights your attitude to customer service,

Food delivered really late food got here and wasn't right order things missing rang up was told they where going to leave the stuff back down but would take over half an hour so asked if it could be sent new order as food qould be cold they blateny quickly answered nope will not customer device was terrible can accept they can be busy but as paying customers still have rights to get what we pay for

I regularly order from here ,quality has been a bit hit and miss lately. I had a fish supper this evening and it had a bit of an odd smell to it, ended up just eating the chips. Last time I had the fish supper it was lovely. My daughter enjoyed her burger.

Browns is the best chippy around. The food is really good quality and really warm. Staff are friendly and helpful. They do really good pasties. I would highly recommend Browns fish and chips.

Bit fuming tbh. Ordered tonight, a ‘cods’ bite meal, which was over £10… no drink was delivered with. They also phoned to say the ran out of mince for a taco chip I ordered. Yeah understandable. They asked me did I want something else, so I said a curry cheesy chip, the taco chip was £6.75… the cheesy chip £5 so £1.75 of a difference, which I wasn’t gave back because I paid by card. Stealing really. And to have the cheek to “forget stuff” like drinks etc. like what. Oh yeah I ordered chicken wings, was scared to eat them tbh. Based on the “cod bites” pure crunchy batter, we’re more like scallops with barely any fish. Maybe to other people’s liking but Seriously so disappointed about the price difference of something THEY didn’t have which they didn’t make the difference up. And then to forget drinks etc

Perfectly fried crispy chips and delicious Taco sauce yum also tried the superb fish dry and so fresh. Great service warm and friendly.

This chippy used to be BEST IN THE WEST !!! but now it’s in the dog, literally !!! Cos I’m not putting that in me, an I’m kinda fat !!! The fish still had skin on it !!! and the chips were so soft I couldn’t even whack them out of the cardboard box !! And I tell ya I was gonna at it duh duh duh duh duh an they weren’t for moving, so in conclusion just go next door to the shop and get yourself a snickers, you may feel better !! On a plus note I’ve had so many bad experiences with fast food I’m most likely gonna lose weight.

Just ordered a fish and a taco chip delivery and all I can say is wow, the best fish iv tasted in years and loads of it, the taco was great nice and spicy. Thank you browns.

We hired the chippy van for a birthday party and the food and service was fantastic. Couldn’t fault anything, it was reasonably priced and Gavin and the girl (didn’t catch her name) were lovely and really friendly to everyone. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or recommend to others. Thanks Gavin!

Wrong delivery again delivered food that people had allergies too very poor not Flybe first time appalling

Long time since I been here. Staff jokey and full of fun. I ordered cod goujons and sweet curry sauce. Took a while as they were busy. Cost £7.40. Not cheap. Consisted of four fish finger sized goujons and a good handful of free chips. I do not know if they don't do sweet curry sauce and but I was given a small tub of Chinese curry. The fish was ok with nice batter but thin fish content. The chips were almost cold as was the curry sauce. Overall expensive and disappointing this time. Place is 5 star clean and friendly. I will try again sometime. But better value in a fish. I noticed no prices on colourful wall menus.

Don't understand the hype surrounding this place considering the price and quality of the food. Literally tasted like a rustlers burger and the chips were like cardboard even though it didn't take that long after we placed our order. Though the pepper sauce and southern fried chicken was quite nice.

We hired browns chippy van for the second day of our wedding! The food and staff were absolutely amazing! Every single one of our guests loved it! We can’t thank browns chip van and staff enough! Would highly recommend!!

Booked the van for a 21st birthday at home. Lynn and Gavin were brilliant and couldn't do enough. There were 30 guests, lots of mixed up orders placed and everything went perfect. Would highly recommend.

The food was amazing all the staff were friendly. It was good to see the staff smiling and talking away to customers. First time being in the shop as i always get deliveries so i wasnt a local and the staff treated me like ive been going in to the shop for years. Staff deserve a pay raise. Will most definitely be back.

The portions are not good at all I ordered a sausage supper and got the sausage and an additional 8 chips they also used thier hands to lift my sausage which is in breach of the hygiene code

Nice food in fairness but portions are not great if you get a sausage and chips guarantee you get about 6 chips

Just got a fish and chip delivered. I've worked in a few local chipshops when living in Lisburn and lambeg. Used to be a supervisor in Harry Ramsdens Lisburn and botanic avenue for years before they all closed. I can assure anybody reading this that Brown's literally have the best Cod I've ever tasted. Fantastic potion, too. The Chips are fantastic as well. The prices are fair and even the curry sauce I got with the mini chicken goujons was lovely. Everything was fantastic and the delivery driver was polite and called me when a little lost. I can't recommend highly enough.

Total disgrace. 2 hour wait for fish and chips. No answer when called. What a joke. Should be totally embarrassed. And I never leave reviews.

Steak chip wasn’t nice at all, don’t understand why they’re classified as an award winning chippy, over cooked steak was chewy and tough, cold pepper sauce and no veg on chip as advertised. Delivery drivers picking chips out of the bucket with his hand 🤢🤮

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I have been coming to browns for ages and it was great up until Friday, I paid £32 for x2 12” pizzas and a chip, an hour later it came and it was x2 10” pizzas, I explained my 3 year old daughter had been given 2 slices before I noticed they were 10” pizzas so I explained this on the phone and they said they will come collect the pizzas and send out new ones, another hour went by and I called back to see where they were to be told they sent 1 x12” pizza and the cold one they made 2 HOURS before because it had “slices taken” which was explained on the phone beforehand. DIDNT ONCE APOLOGISE, NEVER ORDER FROM THIS CHIPPY. ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A PLACE.

Definitely one of the best the food & menu is very good and the staff & service is also excellent until you changed over to the outside van staff where all over the place couldn't even fold the food I'm aware they have to start at some stage but more experienced staff should have been there sorry ill not be in on a Friday for a while.

bought fish and chips , got them home and freezing cold.A 2 minute car drive. i phoned and asked why was the food cold , why are you not heating the food , the manager came on and i asked same question, she said they shouldnt have been cold , did i travel far. i said a 2 minute drive and what am i going to do with this food, the manager said toss it in the bin ! i then said and then what ? i got no answer. i told her id be round for a refund..at the shop still a blank as to why food cold. i told her to feel food, she then took food to back of shop to count chips im guessing. After a few minutes ! she came back opened the till and gave me my refund. still no oppology ...... i said ive wasted time and money coming here, she said theres nothing i else i can do...i said facebook then as i told customers to check food as i left.Chippy's are closing ,, wonder whos next ? is this realy an award winning shop ? what year ? WBB

My sister who is 15 had went into the chippy and ordered a kids cheeseburger meal and 2 sausages and had paid for it. Once she had received her order she came up home and realised there was only the kids burger in the bag and had went back down. She was told that she never ordered the sausages and that she would have to pay another £2.40 for them but she had previously already paid. We always get out of here so we are a bit suprised at this.

We stayed last night at The Standing Stones Lodge where the restaurant was closed. We were advised to get takeaway or delivery. We opted for takeaway as kids were so hungry and it was only 8 min drive away. Picked up a couple of Fish Supper and burgers for kids and it was lovely. Fish was fresh and had a lovely batter (not too oily). We don't get "chipper" often as usually it's greasy but we found the fish and burgers lovely. Chips were in abundance and fish was large so bear in mind. For 2 adults and 2 kids (9yr & 12 yr) we got 2 fish supper and 2 kids burgers and there was tons leftover. For a chipper dinner I have to say it was lovely.

Absolutely Fantastic Delivery, and amazing food !

Great food and speedy delivery, the driver had to call us as somehow we had put in the wrong address luckily he wasn’t far away and the food was still hot when he got here. The only issue was I ordered chips peas onions and curry with xtra tobacco onions, and I didn’t get regular onions. Not a complaint as such I just like my onions 😂

The time that you wait for your food is disgraceful, and also when I send my child in it’s double the waiting time.
