Seahorse Bar & Restaurant in Belfast

Had the most amazing tasting menu experience as a belated Mother’s Day experience with my mum, and had the honour of trying the new esters tasting menu for the season. I can’t express how incredible the menu was, Chef has outdone himself! Special thanks to Tamas and Michael who were incredibly attentive during our meal, thank you for making our experience perfect!

This is my favourite tasting menu in Belfast…. Albeit I’ve posted photos, this doesn’t do the quality, presentation, and overall experience justice. Head Chef Damian, and Fernando really made this a special occasion. Difficult to choose a favourite, however the cod and beef dishes were certainly memorable. Can’t recommend this high enough, and really is fabulous

A very bright attractive dining space and great for people watching. Visited with friends at lunchtime and initially the service was good and our meals were served in good time. However the experienced staff seemed to disappear and we were left with inexperienced young staff who were very pleasant but had no idea about customer service. After a long wait we had to ask for our dirty plates to be removed. We asked twice for the dessert menu as we hadn't been offered it . We had to ask for coffees after we eventually got the attention of one of the staff. We were definitely not rushed out which was good but having to try to get attention from the staff was a little tiresome and paying the bill was also problematic as the member of staff was not sure how to operate the card machine. The food was good , just a pity about everything else considering the high cost of the meals.

We did not stay at the hotel, we just decided to come in and try the breakfast, then stayed for coffee and a catch up. Very nice, relaxing place, lovely staff. A bit pricey but to be expected from a 5 star hotel. Would still come back here again!

Did u no that there 16 pound pizza 🍕 plus tray service is 26 pounds is a 2 pound frozen pizza ,go ask ,rip off right across the board 😡

I was truly amazed by my recent venture to Seahorse Restaurant to try their tasting menu. Every dish showcased local NI produce with an impeccable level of precision, coupled with remarkable service by Pearce and impeccable wine selections. Despite my parties dietary preferences, the team's efforts were truly commendable. This exceptional encounter has undoubtedly redefined the benchmark for excellence in Belfast's culinary scene. Eagerly anticipating my next visit!

We went for the 8 course tasting menu our 10th wedding anniversary and can't thank the staff enough for give us a 5 star experience! The food was out of this world! Every course was a taste sensation, small amounts but every one was unique with just the right amount for each dish. My favourite was the Pea Panacotta, it was thoroughly gorgeous! Well done Chef and kitchen staff. From the moment we arrived we were looked after, the service was exemplary and our every need anticipated. When my glass emptied, it was refilled immediately yet staff didn't hover making it awkward. Thanks Pearse and all of the staff for making our anniversary a very special night.

We had the tasting menu and wine flight. Food was really good - interesting wines - one we want to now find. Waitress was knowledgeable and told us what we needed to know. We had a 8pm booking and before we ended our meal they were setting breakfast for the next day all around us. This is for us a very expensive meal (eye watering for us) spoilt by this lack of courtesy whilst we were eating. 5 star food and service 1 star ambience.

DO NOT BE PUT OFF that this is a hotel restaurant. This is the best tasting menu with wine pairing we have EVER had. The food is amazing with beautiful presentation. The portion sizes are a little larger than other restaurants we have been to and it makes for a really filling meal. The staff are great and there is none of the patronising wine descriptions or patting themselves on the back before you had even tasted anything. They are just wanting everyone to enjoy the food and wine and it comes across really well. The highlight was probably the locally bred beef course. Well done to all on such a great addition to the Belfast restaurant options. You must visit and book for the tasting menu.

Elegant surroundings but the service was haphazard.

We had dinner booked in the Seahorse restaurant and only one word to explain, Wow! This was the highlight of our stay by far. Compliments to the chef, the food was cooked and served to perfection. I really want to get across how amazing the staff were. We had Alex, Sarah and AJ serve us for the evening and it was the best service in 27 years I have received. The politeness and kindness of these staff members did not go unnoticed. The professionalism alongside the warmness of the service was just amazing. I can't thank this restaurant and the staff enough for giving us the best dining experience. Breakfast the next morning again was fabulous! I believe it was Alex again alongside others serving us. It felt like such a personal touch when Alex remembered who we were and asked us how our night was at the hotel. He really is a credit to your hotel. I work in hospitality/ Tourism myself and I can only hope that I could give a service like he delivered to us. He took time out of his busy morning to have a conversation with us and make sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was so fresh and delicious and certainly set us up for the day! Overall this experience was a 10/10. If I could give more points I would! I can't thank the whole team enough for giving us the most relaxing evening at the Grand Central Hotel. I can't wait to return to this beautiful hotel!

Was tempted by the menu for the Valentine dinner at the Seahorse restaurant in the Grand Central Hotel in Belfast and decided to give it a go We were very pleased that we did It’s a lovely room with comfortable seating on the first floor of the impressive Grand Central Hotel. Room doesn’t really have that hotel restaurant feel to it- more like a large standalone restaurant The staff were very welcoming and professional Excellent menu choices including vegetarian options There was a surprise small plate of pre starters which were incredibly tasty Food was top notch - generous sirloin, scallops, duck terrine, cep soup, roasted celeriac Barely room left for cheese or sweets Standard of cooking and presentation was top notch and I look forward to a return

The service was impeccable as you would expect in a 5 star hotel restaurant. The food was probably the best I have ever had, wonderful fish, lovey vegetarian option of roasted celeriac, all beautifully presented., The staff here we lovely, and clearly properly trained. Wonderful restaurant with a really nice atmosphere and Carpet (thank goodness) so you could have a conversation and be able to hear what your fellow diners were saying. Almost unbelievably there was no service charge added to the bill which is almost unheard of and I find that fantastic - I was therefore very happy to leave a size-able gratuity!

Great meal. Onion breads followed, ham hock. Surprise menu. The lobster linguine. Excellent. Then. Beef Fillet. Duck. Lamb. All beautifully cooked to v professional standard. Attentive staff. Could do with more ambience. Background pianist. Well enjoyed RG

Food was okay (i had the battered fish and chips). Too bad our food was served way before our first drinks, which were ordered at the same time. Waiting staff felt inexperienced and insecure at times. Location is quite good and ambiance is very nice. Menu is quite allright although my "triple fried chips" must have missed one or two frying sessions.

The food is created, many choices even for the vegetarian. Presentation is lovely. The salads are amazing. Well worth the visit to enjoy their fare.

From arrival the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. For starter we had beetroot marinated salmon which was delicious and looked amazing. Likewise, the presentation of main courses (halibut & fillet steak) were beautifully presented and tasted every bit as good as they looked. However, it really was a case of saving best for last, the baked Alaska and rhubarb crumble were just fantastic. Top tip - I’d recommend a visit to the observatory just to finish off an amazing experience. In summary - truly a meal and experience to remember…. Brilliant
