Errigle inn in Belfast

April 2024: I am editing my review as part of a complaint against the rip off prices of the Errigle. It has gone way too far and I have also heard they are trying to hustle the other pubs on ormeau to up their prices as well. Disgrace of a place who don't give a damn about local people and the cost of living.

Great food and live trad in the Oak bar Saturday afternoon.

The best bar on the road. Worked in it for 2 years loved every minute. Love it more now I'm on the other side of the bar 🍺

Fantastic pub with exceptional staff! Loved it.

Fantastic would recommend, a proper boozer one side and a family restaurant on the other, something we're lacking where I live. The barman was called Paddy he was a legend he should think about starting a business training people up.

im told the terrible food is due to two chefs leaving , the grub is rotten cold and greasy, this has been our experience this year on three occasions, the staff and locals have told us the food is crap and so it is, a daft reply to this from one of the many managers wont cut it , nobody in there gives a damn, meals one three visits are roast dinner the spuds were like bullets, meal two the gougons are now small and dripping with grease, the onion rings now small hard and stinking, the steak sandwich bread soaked in grease, rest crap, ERRIGLE needs to sit down and eat this expensive food and then sell it,,

Nice experience. We were early, so didn't get to experience a proper atmosphere, but it had a nice vibe. Staff were very friendly. The Guinness was top notch.

Great spot for food, very laid back atmosphere with good food and a good selection of drinks. Nothing too much trouble for staff and they don't keep you waiting for your food. I have been going here for years and its always good, very consistent. Only downside is the parking can be a bit of a problem depending on when you visit but it doesn't put me off.

Not much of an atmosphere on a weekday afternoon, I expect its heaving in the evenings!

Popular and warmly welcoming bar/restaurant at Ormeau - Belfast South. Tempting but still not pricey menu, friendly staff, well chilled Guinness and more craft samples on tap. Good live music on regular basis. Can be pretty busy during weekends so resevation is recommended.

Great spot to visit before and after going to the Kingspan for the rugby

Food is excellent, huge selection of local and international beers. Great for watching sport and live music. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

A great spot for lunch. The cauliflower madras is superb even though I’m a die hard carnivore. Staff helpful and courteous,

Spent NYE in The Errigle. Brilliant band,Mothers little helpers. Danced all night. Very friendly people and atmosphere. Will definitely recommend to others. 4 people over from Manchester said how much they enjoyed the night too....

With a group for a Christmas Lunch. Very well organised and great atmosphere. Food was very enjoyable and if there was any slight fault it might have been the length between courses. Must admit it's far better this way than being rushed through it. Staff very pleasant and very professional. Thanks to all

In the words of the great Annie Lennox whyyyyyaaawhhhyyyy WHY did you get rid of the outdoor heaters ? The heated seats heat the bum whilst the rest of the body experiences hypothermia. As the most expensive pints never mind on the road but also up there with some city centre prices surely that will pay for some new heaters . Outside is like a ghostown when once upon a heated time place was hiving !!

I just don’t understand why they took away the outdoor heaters, seat heating doesn't work and as it is the most expensive pint on the road with the most outside space…seems worth the investment?!

A poor representation of fish and chips for £15. So much better pub grubs places in Belfast. No matter what people say the Guinness here is poor. Is there anywhere on the Ormeau road that has a good pint of Guinness?

£6.50 a pint! My glass was dirty and the drink hadn't even settled when it was plopped up like a bucket of slops. No effort for very high cost not worth it, plenty of other bars on the Ormeau Rd worth the visit.

Went for trivia night. Love the atmosphere and history of the place. Had a Hendrisk's Special. Could have been a little more generous with Hendrick's, in my opinion.

Had a fabulous meal here. Staff were great very polite and helpful. The food was amazing we will definately revisit. Very reasonably priced and the service was excellent

I only have one little problem with this great pub and that's the price of Guinness. £5.95 is extremely expensive. I don't know The price they charge for other beers and lager's.

My first time here..really lovely pub..great atmosphere..staff very attentive ..and friendly..look forward to going back to sample food ..which looks great.

A nice place for a pint. Staff are friendly and there are several different rooms, the main room, a sports bar, the oak which is quiet and no screens and the upstairs rooms and rooftop. There is a large selection of drinks. It is, however, quite expensive for both drinks and food. We waited well over an hour for food, and then we were given the wrong order. We waited over 30 minutes more for the ordered food to arrive. The staff were apologetic but it was expensive and definitely not worth the wait. The Monday night quizzes are great but you have to arrive really early to get a table. The drinks here are quite expensive pretty much £6 for a pint. The thing it has going for it is that there are several bars so you can usually find a place to sit when there isn't an event going on.

In the Errigle to watch the Ireland v New Zealand rugby World cup quarter final. Great atmosphere, good Guinness and great company. Shame about the result.

Visiting the area with 2 kids and a dog. That makes dining out a bit complex (often dog welcome but kids not and vice versa). Errigle has a comfortable outside seating area. Perfect. Great food. Friendly atmosphere.

Service 2/10 Good 1/10 Frozen Yorkshire pudding, tough roast beef and deep fried potatoes, they should have paid me to eat it. 2nd time at it and the last time, stay clear!

We have good days and bad days but that day must have been a BAD day. The staff were friendly enough but everything just seemed to take so long and seemed very confused when ordering. It must have taken a good 20 minutes to get everything sorted and even then, it wasn’t quite right but by that point, I was happy to just get to back my seat. Speaking of seats, the placement of the tables outside seemed a bit odd and was highlighted by way of a water feature appearing under the table when it started to rain. Niche but undesirable and unnecessary. The food was ok but not great. I had the roast beef which was, “alright”. The amount of beef on the plate was staggeringly large (I’m not complaining about that) but it seemed out of balance with the rest of the meal and a bit of quantity over quality. My friend had the chicken burger which he said was really good but we had to send the chips because they had all the appearance of a foodstuff that had been cooked under the hand-dryer in the men’s loo. The one star for atmosphere is largely based on time of day because it was early afternoon on a Sunday so one star is quite unfair really. Overall, I’d go back if I was hungover and hungry but it wouldn’t be on the top of my list.

A "proper" pub, the inside is especially interesting. Three cask beers on sale along with a big range of mostly local craft beer on keg and in can. Have heard they do good food too. B easy to reach on the bus from Belfast centre, but beware of early closing times ...

Reliable local which I've been going to for years now. Food has went downhill a bit recently, and the price of pints going up. Still a good local, and it is the best pub in town when Ireland rugby is playing.

Paid £6-7 for a portion of cauliflower wings and only got 3… staff were friendly though

Nice pub, was busy but not overly, I know it's tough getting staff atm but when two good staff members could do what 5 were trying too do I wonder about traing and management tbh.

First in after Stormont Parkrun for the huge Errigle Fry .Didn't disappoint cooked to perfection followed by a well poured pint of Guinness.

Great food, great atmosphere and always great craic. It’s been a few years since I was here and it hasn’t changed a bit but in a good way! Always enjoy visiting here.

Premium prices for average quality beer, same p*as most bars today! Disappointing had a good selection once!

The Best pub in South Belfast,biutifull food and perfect to watch the Rudby mach, divided by several room's with diferent screen's Must go.

Food was simple, delicious and abundant and the staff were so pleasant, helpful and recommended dishes from the menu. Sometimes people forget just how good the Errigle is and how relaxed the atmosphere. This was a local for a few years and I miss not nipping in after work. Highly recommend for a chilled, relaxed vibe and lovely food and staff.

Great evening at Coeliac AGM. Errigle Inn as usual provided great quality gluten free fish and chips. Staff friendly and helpful.

Made the most of the the sunshine and had a great meal on the rooftop bar. Downstairs was absolutely packed but there were hardly any people on the rooftop. I think people forget its there but having it to ourselves was amazing.

Great pub! One of my favourites in Belfast.

Nice and very popular pub in south Belfast. They have a dining area but reservations are recommended. We ate in the pub area. Typical boisterous and friendly locals! Food was really good. More serve yourself then get served, but worth the effort. We had mushroom pasta and an avocado burger, both very nice and well portioned. Outside covered seating is available, as well as a sport bar section.

My wife and me stopped in for a quick pint before heading out for the afternoon. Enjoyed the outdoor seating on an unusually warm day in Dublin. Solid service, food and great price/value. Really enjoyed the vibe.

Visited the Errigle Inn recently whilst visiting Belfast. The customer service was excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was delicious. I would highly recommend a visit. Thanks to the staff for making our visit a pleasure. We have brought home good memories of our visit.

Went there for a Sunday roast, which was decent, if a bit bland. Have good options for vegetarians/vegans.

Starter was beautiful prawn til til then my main was chowder that wasnt great as for banoffe pie un accteptable false advertisment there was no fresh banana its was a marshmallow sweet contém in dark chocolate my own desert & my brothers where sent bk

Great place to go on the Ormeau Road for sports fans during match days. Sat upstairs to watch the Liverpool vrs Man utd match, atmosphere was fantastic! Ordered food and drinks at the bar. Drink served quick even tho there was a cocktail or 2 ordered and the food was amazing, chicken stack, chicken goujons and a superfood salad. Will be back

The best place by far for food & drink, we would be in regularly as the Errigle is fantastic, brilliant staff and atmosphere.

Had lunch in here and the food was beautiful will defo be back.

Where do I start, I was treated to a foul stench which was close to unbearable.. My pregnant fiance was very close to vomiting. But we decided we would stick it out. What a terrible miskate. The bar tender was ignorant to my 5 year old. When I asked him to stop swearing he kick us out after taking payment for 2 beer and a bottle of wine. Avoid like plague.

Went to the Errigle main bar, downstairs, for a special birthday celebration. Nice comfortable seating and nice staff. A sound system is provided and also a Sound man to manage it which was great. A fab evening with a talented group of Singer/Songwriters Musicians who came along to share their music and celebrate too. 🎤🎸🎶💎

Had a bit of lunch, food was very good, but the tradesmen working shouldn't have been cutting into plasterboard while people where eating their food.

Used to love the errigle when we lived closer, food never let us down but called for Sunday lunch today and was really disappointed in the food. Roast beef was inedible it was so tough and over cooked. Veg and roast potatoes were raw. One star to the waiter, who was lovely.

Oak lounge is cosy escape. Good mixed crowd when it gets busy...just chat but vibrant when full. No music, no TVs

I had the boxing day toasty and it was lovely, however the main bar was very drafty and cold, as it has been the last couple of times I have been there. Most people seemed to keep their coats on or put them over their knees, which is not conducive to staying too long.

Came in off the street about an hour before world cup final looking for a rugby match on tv and Peter the manager got us sorted with the game on tv and staff sorted us with some soup and drinks! 5* service!!

The Errigle Inn has been the main bar on the Ormeau road for as long as I can remember! The food is really good and there is a disco upstairs which has people in their mid-thirties (like me) thinking they were in their late teens. Keith keeps the tunes going and they are all classics. Well worth a visit. There is a quiz on a Monday night as well, though not as well attended as it was the last decade or so. It's still a great pub
