Harlem Cafe in Belfast

Very good food!! And the staffs are sooo friendly, and the atmosphere is so aesthetic, very good for picture, only thing the cake I ordered was a bit dry.

Great place. I walked in without a reso on a Friday afternoon and they were able to accommodate. Great atmosphere and a beautiful spot. The Dirty Harlem burger was great, and the aged cheddar really set it apart.

Well worth visiting for a breakfast

A truly memorable experience from start to finish. The dining area is a world of its own, quirky and unique. The team are warm and welcoming, and the service is genuine. However, the star of the show is the food on the plate. Each ingredient is fresh and cooked to perfection, and the black pudding is like no other tasted before. If you visit Belfast, make sure you don't miss out on a 5-star dining experience.

We visit quite regularly with friends before shows at the nearby Opera House. Food is excellent and the service is friendly and very good. Book in advance to avoid the queue. One of my favourite places to eat and catch up with friends in Belfast it just has a nice vibe!

I attended here early this afternoon. I was attended to by James who looked after myself during my presence, James was very polite gentleman who looked after me very well. My lunch was great and atmosphere was really good too. I do recommend this café. I shall return

Fabulous location for breakfast / brunch. A warm welcome from the owner, great service, fabulous food, buzzy ambiance and good value for money, especially for a centrally located establishment. Highly recommend!

We were in Belfast for 2 days and were recommended by out hotel to go here for brunch. We were not disappointed. Very friendly helpful staff, great menu and relaxed atmosphere Loved it so much we went back On the second day for coffees and cake. Will definitely return if back in Belfast.

Clearly a Belfast institution judging by the voices around us. I am not surprised as the surroundings are quirky, the food is excellent as is the coffee. Spectacular Ladies as well!

Got our reservation wrong, made us wait outside (in the rain) for over half an hour despite booking a table (4 months previous) only to finally get seated (13 of us) around an 8 seater table and the staff were extremely rude making out it was our fault, we ended up walking out without eating in the cramped, overpriced establishment

Great cafe for lunch and brunch, reasonably priced

Great spot for breakfast or brunch. The walls are lined with funky paintings and pictures from another era framed in random gold frame. The bacon bap was massive and had this sweet tomatoy fruity chutney. The service was great and the music playing was trendy. Gotta come!

Fabulous cafe for breakfast. Friendly owner & her team too. Wonderful interior & the little touches it has … how often do you get candelabra’s on the tables & tea served in a silver teapot!! Excellent food excellent service great decor, called in on our last morning in Belfast after reading some online reviews. The food was delicious and generous portions I had the full breakfast my partner had bacon & poached eggs on toast, the coffee was great too and reasonably priced too.

Really nice place for breakfast/brunch. Love the different styles of decor and the quirky range of teapots! At the weekend I’d definitely recommend booking unless you are getting there before 10am latest as otherwise you’ll likely be queuing.

Visited on St Patricks day for my birthday breakfast. Best atmosphere and food and breakfast cocktails were spot on . Big shout out to lady with blonde hair that seated us absolutely loved her gave us tips on best places to go later on that day. Will definitely be back.

Walked out of the place due to rude staff

We had approx a 15 min wait - so so worth the wait. The food was beautiful, the service was fantastic. If I was to return to Belfast it would be my first stop. It was perfect from start to finish.

Went here for my birthday lunch and it was such a lovely experience. The decor and atmosphere was so different and pretty! Service was friendly and professional! I ordered the Steak Sandwich and my partner ordered a Salad and both were extremely tasty and presented beautifully! We look forward to going back sometime soon! It’s also dog friendly which is a plus!

What a lovely place to have our first ‘Belfast Breakfast’ queued for a table for about 15 minutes, but it’s totally worth the wait. Great Staff, Great Vibe & Great food and when you are getting cocktails with your brekky, what’s not to love.

Superb spot for breakfast. There were seven of us and the big breakfast was brilliant. The coffee was excellent and the vibe is really cool. Deserves all five stars.

I was with a friend, I asked to swap a topping from my dish with an alternative one listed and they said I couldn’t do it. I asked for some water and they brought us one glass only. Service wasn’t great and it wasn’t that busy. Food was ok but not many supportive for people with intolerance

A fantastic stop for breakfast or brunch - the table of ladies beside us were tucking into gorgeous fry ups, with vivid green cocktails. I ordered the sourdough with salmon, and added a sausage and hash browns on the side. The sausage was giant, the hash browns were crunchy, I got three chunky slices of sourdough and a pile of salmon, with a very tasty little dressed rocket salad on the plate, too. It filled me up for hours, and only cost around £15 including a drink. The place had an endearing atmosphere, like it had been there for decades but also had a lot of modern decorating touches. The service was super fast, but we also didn't feel like the staff were in any hurry to get rid of us, even though they were continually busy with fresh customers coming in - they left us to linger over our coffee as long as we wanted.

On the way back to our lovely Victoria apartment we walked by this lovely cafe. We fancied a coffee and tea. The Victoria sponge was absolutely stunning. Also a lovely place when you fancy a nice interior. Enjoy your coffee or tea an absorb the atmosphere

Decided to give this place a second chance…. what a woeful idea. Popped in after a quick business meeting and low and behold, the service here remains the same — abrupt, unkind and unbothered. I myself have worked in some of the busiest hospitality venues in both London and Dublin — I get it, you can get scunnered, it’s normal. I sympathise with that. however, it wasn’t busy at all and yet anytime you asked for something, it felt like you were asking them to donate a kidney. I don’t get the attitude problem. I asked for a little top up of milk and one male member of staff just tutted at me, snatched it from me. Okay. I’m not asking for much, however the little things in a cafe or a restaurant really make the difference when it comes to good and appalling service. At least it looked cleaner this time… but sadly, won’t be enough to retain my service or the service of my friends. Avoid.

Surprised by the positive reviews for this place. We went on a Saturday (no booking) and it was just chaotic. There was a massive queue which wasn’t being attended to. I don’t think it made any difference to have made reservations cause people had to wait for their table anyway. There didn’t seem to be a manager or person in charge/front of house. Staff were all doing their own thing. The food and drink is overpriced for the quality - I got a full English which was similar to what you’d get at Wetherspoons but more than double the price. Wouldn’t go again nor recommend.

A small queue before we were seated as a 4 for breakfast on a Sunday. Very big queue as we left and passed an hour or so later too. Sausages very good, the rest of the breakfast was average. Bacon not to my liking. Very friendly fast service.

We were advised to go here for breakfast on our first day in Belfast. The place was pretty busy but we got seated straight away and served almost immediately. The food was fabulous hot and great choice. The place is quirky by design and vintage. Would highly recommend.

I had an amazing experience at this brunch spot! The portions are incredibly generous, and there's a wide variety of options to choose from. The staff are super friendly and create a welcoming atmosphere. The quirky decor adds to the charm of the place. The food was absolutely delicious however I did feel rushed towards the end of my meal when my friends plates were cleared away whilst I was still eating. My only suggestion would be to book a table in advance to avoid the long queues outside. Despite that, I'll definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommend!

First time in Belfast (from Australia) and had the absolute luck (dare I say Irish luck) to select Harlems to have lunch at. The restaurant is beautiful, the food and wine terrific, and the staff are exceptional, friendly and helpful. They gave us suggestions of what to do and see and were just the best. Myself and my girlfriend went for brunch and we had the best experience! The friendliest and kindest staff here and food was great so we had a great brunch. I’m gluten free and they went through all my options and ensured all sauces and sides were safe! Great gluten free french toast and gf sausages! Visited for breakfast on our arrival into Belfast on an early morning flight.. The 3 of us all had something different. Full cooked Irish, cheese and ham toasty with poached egg and scrambled egg and salmon. Beautifully presented. The fresh orange juice was so refreshing and good quality teabags. Would recommend you give it a try. Probably best if you book at weekends as it gets very busy. 10% service charge automatically added onto your bill . Only noticed this after I had paid the bill and had already left a tip in the tip dish.

I enjoyed the restaurant's pleasant atmosphere and ambience. I tried their vegan tower which was good. As well as their double macchiato which was delicious. However, the downside was the notably long wait time for both food and drinks.

Seated next to the door, which is constantly open with a queue. The queue was right beside our table making it difficult to enjoy breakfast. Ordered feta/sourdough/poached eggs which was 80% just rocket and the sourdough very difficult to cut. Looked aesthetic but not worth the price. The fry however was good! Staff weren’t overly friendly and you feel rushed so they can accommodate queue. Not sure what the hype is here personally!

Lovely looking place but don’t see the hype Went Monday 15 Jan and like other reviews, the staff were just trying to get people in and out as quick as possible, and it wasn’t even full!! Especially the 40ish blonde waitress, who has a bad resting b face and spoke to my partner, whose second language is English( totally fluent but has an accent) like he was an idiot, super slow and looking at him with wide eyes, talking over him and finishing his sentences. Weird! She also walked away, looked at her friend behind the bar and raised her eyebrows and smirked- may be unrelated but certainly didn’t make her look great and just ruined the atmosphere for me. places not to be missed to discover Irish cuisine

Had a reservation for 11:30, arrived 10 minutes early, no one said anything to us until 11:45 when they just asked the number on the booking. No one returned to speak to us for another 15 minutes when we were eventually seated. The couple behind us did not have a reservation, they were seated immediately after us, received a much better table, and were served first. No apology for the wait at any time. Additionally, there was no management of the queue meaning people regardless of reservation or not had to queue in the rain until those in front of them had been seated. Food was good but over priced

The first time I got really bad service, I stood in line in the cold for 40 minutes, so far ok! After entering, I was served by an extremely unpleasant guy, he placed us at a random table, we waited more than half an hour for the menu, finally, we got up and left, I didn't leave a review, I just left a message on Instagram!, I was very well attended to by urge. The owner of the establishment offered us a complimentary coffee for the inconvenience. Well, I had an appointment for 10 am, I arrived at 9:45 and the same guy rudely attended to us, asking if we had reservations and if we had called to say that we were “late”, in other words, a total disregard. But ok, we went in and placed the order, nothing extraordinary, expensive for what was served! But the worst part, the owner offered it to us as a courtesy, but there was absolutely nothing as a courtesy, we paid 71 pounds in a cafe with nothing different, the arrogant employee charged us for the courtesy offered by the owner of the establishment. I don't recommend it, I won't go back! If you want to pay a lot for a simple cafe without anything extraordinary, this is the place. Twice the same employee was extremely unpleasant. There are other cafes nearby, less popular with fair prices, excellent quality and extraordinary service!
