The Woodworkers: Where Beer is Religion and Bartenders Are Saints. After a truly abysmal run-in with another pub-that-shall-not-be-named, we wandered into The Woodworkers hoping for a pint and a palate cleanse — and ended up having one of the best beer experiences of our lives. The place oozes cool without trying too hard: laid-back vibes, an excellent selection, and bartenders who actually like people (a shocking concept, apparently). We were curious about the beer tasting flight — and even though the official “beer experience” didn’t start until 16:00, we showed up fashionably early at 14:00 like eager beer nerds with no sense of time. Enter the bartender — That young woman is an absolute legend. Not only did she not roll her eyes or throw us out for daring to exist before beer o’clock, she straight-up went above and beyond. She served us a glorious tasting board with eight different beers, explaining each one with genuine enthusiasm and that effortless Belfast charm. She gave us more than we paid for, both in quality and kindness. By the end, we felt like we’d just taken a mini craft beer masterclass — and had a few good laughs along the way. This place gets it. Great beer, good people, zero attitude. Whether you’re a beer geek or just here for a good time, The Woodworkers delivers. And if you’re lucky enough to be served by that bartender — give her a raise and a medal. Or at least a thank-you pint. 10/10 would get accidentally tipsy here again.

We had booked a table for a birthday get-together and the venue was great for it. Chill music, nice decor, friendly staff and particularly pleased with the amount of vegetarian options on the menu. Will definitely be back!

We visited from the North East of England. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. There were 26 different Taps, beers and ciders. Knowledgeable staff advised on beers. The bar has 3 floors including a pool bar, shuffleboard and small beer garden. Highly recommended

Great selection of craft micro brewery beers

Went for a pre show meal before the comedy night, was great. Couldn't fault it, especially the range of craft beers available :)

Similar to another reviewer, I came in when it was dead inside - more employees than customers - but it was prime dinner time hours on a Sunday. Confusing service - told to have a seat to order if I'm eating - different server comes immediately. I needed more than 5 seconds to look at the menu - she never reappeared. So I went to the bar and ordered. Fine. Would have been no biggie had that instruction just been clear. I enjoyed the beer flight, not many places around with a good variety of craft beers, so glad for this one. The chicken burger was pretty sad - it was missing a key ingredient, the onion rings, so I went up to the bar to ask. Apparently they were out, and were just not going to say anything, lol. I would have ordered something else. I guess I looked annoyed because some dude brought me some really sad fries to make up for it. But they were clearly ones that had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. The sandwich was otherwise unremarkable esp for 11.50, and would be at a third of that. Why didn't they even bother to butter the bun or something? I finished the beer (they were great) and left half my sandwich and all but 2 fries. 23 quid for that. I was really hoping to spice up my Ryan's / Post House rotation especially for the beer selection. Gah. Even just a bit of kindness or acknowledgment from staff and I'd gladly be back for more pints if not the food, but they clearly gave no f****. Which would be fine, I'm on train idgaf too. But I think that only works when places are otherwise well-managed, and this one doesn't seem to be.

We had a great time playing pool and then stayed on for a wonderful meal downstairs - staff upstairs and diwn couldn't have done more for us, thanks for a wonderful night!

My friends and I went for dinner on a Wednesday night around 5.15pm, it was very, very quiet and there was very little atmosphere. I'm guessing it was because we were there early maybe? I ordered the chicken tenders with lattice potatoes, onion rings and a garlic dip. The chicken was so nice, perfectly cooked and the hot sauce was delicious but my lattice potatoes were oily and very overcooked. My meal cost £15 and there was plenty of food. My friends ordered a cheese burger, chicken wings and halloumi fries. The halloumi fries were so good! Service was ok, the server who took our order at the bar seemed quite disinterested and was so softly spoken that I could barely hear the questions she asked me, even in the almost empty restaurant. Plus points though for another server giving me a pint of orange cordial for free because I was driving home. That was a really nice touch!

Good range of beers and great staff. Both ordered fish and chips and the fish was really overcooked. Not bad enough to return, but disappointing.

Came in for a drink and small dinner and it was dead inside but like ten employees? All playing games and didn't acknowledge me so I just sat at a table and it was all order to the table anyways so that's fine. I got pita and hummus. I ask about my cider and she looks super confused and goes to the bar. Returns with that. Awful hummus. It was so bland. The pita was cold, hard, and stale. The drink was fine as it was in a bottle. Trash food and environment for £14

Bar man Conor was great! Even though it was his first week (5years later…) he got my drink 100% correct and to perfect standards. The rest of the guys & gals were great craic. The staff are fab! Should be proud as an establishment. Great night all round. ☺️

Excellent service; quick & friendly, delicious food at reasonable prices (I got the vegan platter which I recommend), clean and good atmosphere.

My boyfriend and I had THE BEST NIGHT!! We were booked in for the dinner before the comedy show. Had a bit of a nightmare and we’re running late. Rachel behind the bar in woodworkers was so accommodating, got us sorted with a table and she made amazing cocktails - would come back just for that. The food was delicious I wasn’t expecting too much because the price of the deal was great value. Johnny downstairs was also a great help. He made sure we got seated. The comedy show was FABULOUS. I’ll definitely be back. To finish all my praise. Pierce upstairs in the pool room is great. Our table messed up a couple times and he was quick to fix it and ensure we were having a good time. We were honestly soooooo happy with the night I had to write up a review.

Lovely place for a family gathering. Nice bar food - chicken was excellent. Shuffleboard is a big plus. Cocktails amazing and perhaps the best margarita in Belfast. Thank you for a great night.

Mi hermano gemelo y yo estábamos en bares y pubs dando vueltas por esta parte de la ciudad cuando nos encontramos con The Woodworkers Rotating Tap Room y que gran hallazgo. Entrando y sabía que disfrutaría de mi visita aquí, el interior es magnífico, un llamativo bar de servicio domina la sala principal, tableros de cerveza electrónicos muestran las cervezas disponibles, un esquema decorativo industrial muy llamativo y hay un montón de opciones de asientos repartidos por todo este bar, es solo un bar muy bueno para relajarse. Estuvimos aquí en una noche de enero amargamente fría, tuvimos un estudio de sus tableros de cerveza electrónicos, 14 cervezas en oferta, una gran selección de hecho, al final optamos por tener Bullhouse Brewery pale ale, estos se sirvieron en excelentes condiciones, nos relajamos y empapamos de la gran vibra en este bar ocupado y popular mientras bebíamos nuestra pale ale. Mi pale ale estaba muy buena, crujiente, dorada, pale ale de lúpulo, toques de toffee, un delicioso aroma y regusto con un acabado suave, una pale ale clásica irlandesa servida en un bar clásico de Belfast. Realmente disfrutamos de nuestras cervezas aquí antes de seguir adelante y aunque nuestra visita fue solo fugaz para una primera visita a The Woodworkers Rotating Tap Room nos lo pasamos muy bien. The Woodworkers on Bradbury Place es un excelente bar de cerveza artesanal y cocina que se encuentra en una bonita zona de Belfast y fue uno de los muchos pubs y bares a los que fuimos en nuestro viaje de tres días a Belfast. Este magnífico bar de cerveza artesanal y cocina tiene un excelente menú de comida y bebida y una muy buena gama de cervezas artesanales giratorias y es un lugar que a mí y a mi hermano gemelo nos gustó mucho, ya que había cervezas magníficas. El bar en sí tiene un interior moderno con una serie de buenas áreas de estar en todo su interior. Hay excelentes características y excelentes accesorios y cuando visitamos aquí estaba muy ocupado. Fuimos a algunos bares y pubs de cerveza artesanal en Belfast y este estaba allí con todos los otros bares de cerveza artesanal que visitamos. En nuestra visita tuvimos unas cervezas artesanales que eran excelentes y muy bien valorado. Es un fantástico bar de cerveza artesanal y cocina en una excelente zona de Belfast y vale la pena visitar si estás por esta zona. (Esta es mi primera reseña de los Woodworkers). Horario de apertura. Great food and service. Drinks are good but a bit overpriced and not the best variety (e.g. no sour beers). Booked a table for the night which was mostly enjoyable except for a DJ who turned up later in the evening and completely killed the vibe since it was far too loud. Repeat after me - live music / DJs in bars sucks! Especially in a section that serves food.

Had heard that the woodworkers got a shuffleboard table set up, and found it online and easy to book. Had a group of 12 for 2 hrs and was great craic. Good selection of drinks too and service was great. Will be back again

Great spot for a few drinks with mates. Something for everyone. Quality craft beers, cocktails, which for me is one of the most important aspects of a night out. If the drinks are nice, the evening is always great.

I enjoyed my last visit to Woodworkers. A pint and a packet of crisps cost £8. It was a quiet place to chat with friends at first. Later a quiz started and it became harder to talk. We moved through the internal doorway into the Lavery's front bar and were happy again.

Had a great pre show meal and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere at Woodworkers.

The place is called the Woodworkers, on the mainland that wouldn't mean anything. I sat down at a table and realised it was made of solid wood (maybe teak? I'm no wood expert), lightly oiled and beautiful. Not sticky or varnish-y like the junk you normally get, but nice wood (you can probably tell, I enjoyed the tables). The beer was lovely, as we're the team. The food was great, I had a scooby snack burger & chips, it was fabulous. One of my colleagues had chicken wings, they were also excellent. If you're in Belfast and you don't call in, you're missing out.

They've improved their veggie/vegan options on the menu which is great, with things are are actively different/new to try. Was only a few years ago their veggie platter was poor, but things like the non-chicken bites,.frickles and vegan party burgers are top notch.

My only issue was being directed to the toilets upstairs and not told by staff they were gender neutral. Then to discover that men had a choice of male toilets but females only had the gender neutral choice. I felt my right to choose was taken away. Only when I mentioned to staff was I directed to the female toilets out the back of the bottom bar. In future staff should give females the choice of the female toilet and not just the gender neutral toilet. Other than that we had a ball!!

Great offer for the comedy at laverys on a wednesday and thursday

Really enjoyed the rooftop bar. Good selection of beers and a nice atmosphere. Pool rooms upstairs if that's your cup of tea.

17 of us used the Workshop room and it was comfortable, clean, and perfect for us. Unlike Lavery's it's not super loud in The Woodworkers so great for a social event. In the evening though there was music playing which wasn't ideal.

Best craft beer selection in the city.

A while to get served when quiet. Long list of beers and yet ironically restricted choice of styles...all very safe and similar. A spacious bar and a fab number of pool tables upstairs.

Server who seated and initially took our drink and food orders was unfriendly. It took a while for her to come around and take our order. When the food came out, we had a different server and the food was not hot. The initial server disappeared and I had to go to the bar to order another drink as no one ever came back. When it came time to pay, the initial server was available. With making a reservation and sitting at a table, I would expect to have a server for the evening who was actually pleasant. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant, would never return and would not recommend.

The food here is deep fried garbage. I ordered ‘salt and chilli’ chips with vegan chicken. Squirts of pink sauce, 3 slices of chilli over deep fried ‘balls’ and chips. They should go to Madame Phos round the corner to learn how to cook! Their cauliflower wings are disgusting! Over cooked, soggy and awful, again get yourselves round to Madame Phos and beg for cooking classes. Can’t comment on the rest of the menu but mine went back uneaten, straight to the bin, where it belongs.

Nice place for a food and drinks

We try to get together every 6 months or so with ex work mates and really enjoy the pool hall at Laverys. Atmosphere and the food is great. Staff are always friendly and know how to pour a guinness. Already looking at dates that suit everyone for another get-together.

As an avid craft beer enthusiast, I decided to explore the Belfast bar scene and sample some delightful pints. The Woodworkers caught my attention, so I ventured in about an hour after opening time. After finding a table, I made my way to the bar to order a drink. I selected a beer, which was served promptly, but unfortunately, the service lacked warmth. To make matters more perplexing, the beer I received was quite different from the canned version I’d previously enjoyed. Despite this, I refrained from mentioning it, as I had just arrived. My friend joined me, eager to try a flight of various beers. However, he ended up waiting at the empty bar for an extended period before being informed that flights weren’t available. Not wanting to cause a fuss, he settled for a single beer. When he requested a stout, he was unexpectedly served an IPA—a stark contrast in appearance (akin to asking for white wine and receiving red). The bartender eventually poured him a stout and generously offered it at no charge (since the original beer would have been discarded anyway). Our next goal was to grab some food. Like most patrons, we had checked the menu online beforehand. When I inquired about food availability, the bartender—now a different person—coldly informed me that it wasn’t served until 4 pm. Admittedly, the serving times were buried at the very end of the menu, beyond the desserts section. Curious about the sour beer on tap, I asked the bartender for her opinion. Unfortunately, she responded without a smile or any attempt at engagement, admitting she hadn’t tried it. Abruptly, she handed me a shot of the sour, leaving me feeling rushed and awkward. There was no follow-up inquiry about my experience, and she seemed disinterested. Seeking something beyond the fruity/sweet IPAs, we noticed a wheat beer listed on the menu. However, it turned out to be unavailable. Undeterred, we attempted to order a stout, only to discover it was no longer an option. Consequently, we settled for yet another IPA. Throughout our visit, we interacted with two staff members at the Woodworkers and one at Lavery’s. Regrettably, none of them exhibited good customer service skills. There was no warmth, engagement, friendliness, acknowledgment, or interest. Despite the quiet, laid-back atmosphere during the daytime, we left disappointed. As two unassuming geeks seeking a pleasant afternoon in a friendly establishment, we felt let down. Hoping for some acknowledgment and perhaps an explanation, I reached out via the online contact form on the Woodworkers’ website and I also sent a direct email after no initial response to the complaints form. Unfortunately, I received no response to my email either. This disappointing experience has left me hesitant to return, and the lack of follow-up sealed the deal.

🏚️setting was lovely. We arrived slightly early. We waited by the waitress station and to be honest we're ignored for a few minutes, so I asked if we could be seated. The service was exactly as I would expect from this point onwards. 🍷Drinks ordered, I had a white wine and my hubby had an ale. 🍗🍨Food, we had salt and pepper squid, honey chilli chicken and loaded katsu fries. The squid and honey chilli Chicken we're out favourites. Very tasty, great size portions. Overall we would return, the setting was quirky and had a nice vibe. The service to bring drinks and food was quick and of course the portion size Vs price was value for money.

Great beers and food but the bar girl is a joke, no sales skills and no desire to welcome customers. She served a wrong beer to my mate, and then straggled to put them on our table… no one really came up to us to even ask if we wanted to order anything else. Staff training is much needed in this place.

I booked an area in woodworkers for my friends 30th birthday. It was an absolutely seamless process and all the staff were really lovely. The area was great and was close the bar. The communication was great so I knew exactly what to expect. The service was brilliant and we had a great night. Couldn’t recommended more highly - thanks so much to Woodworkers for such a great night!

A great spot for either a quiet one, a few pints with friends, watching football or some food. The food menu has good variety and there are some good vegan and vegetarian options.

Alcohol free options are great. Always something new on tap to try :) staff always accommodating - would always recommend for drinks/food for any occasion!

Very good atmosphere and good food. We tried the selection of beers and cider. On the upper floor there is a terrace and a room with pool tables.

The waitress was very helpful, explaining how the comedy night package worked. Food didn't dissappoint.

Booked here as part of Comedy night in Laverys. £33 for ticket,main and any drink.(even a cocktail). I had massive plate of honey chilli chicken and truffle mayo skinny. Husband had goujons. All really tasty and plentiful. Friendly staff and good service. Wld recommend.

The cafe bar is beautiful, the atmosphere is stunning and it's such a gorgeous wee spot! The food was nice, bit disappointed as they had run out of the food I had originally wanted but it was still enjoyable. The service from staff was terrible. Staff were more interested in standing round talking near or at the bar, and once staff dropped off the food, they didn't come back again to ask about getting more drinks. At times staff were rushing past us to another area of the building and then at times there weren't many staff around. When they did serve us, or get the bill it felt like they couldn't have been bothered. It's a real shame as it is such a beautiful spot, not sure I'd return.

This was my first time eating in the Woodworkers - I’ve been in for a flight or two of the lovely ales before, but this time we went in for a pre show meal before Lavery’s Comedy Club on a Thursday night. The food was gorgeous, and was a really big portion, really tasty, and we were allowed to take our lovely pints of Pillows ale from Boundary Brewery in Belfast upstairs with us - cracker wee night; really friendly staff, all round pleasure to be there!

Great selection of craft beers, I think the best in the city. Plus a bar showing sports is connected next door, so best of both worlds!

1st class service food excellent atmosphere brilliant

We went to the comedy show, pre booked the dinner, I arrived early and didn’t have to wait for my reserved table, it was a quiet Wednesday evening, I enjoyed the chicken and chips, American dinner style in a plastic tray, yummy sauce. We went up to the comedy show as the doors were closing and missed out on our seats but that just meant we had easy access to the bar 👍 excellent Guinness . Good job guys.

Meal booked for myself and two friends on Superbowl Sunday. The food was phenomenal, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back again.

Had to wait 40 minutes for starter (calamari, big portion and tasted good). However my partners fish main course was still frozen and I had a very stale bap with my burger. Service was shocking overall too and it wasn't even busy.

The workshop is a great wee private area, no issues in a large group getting round one table and hearing the craic. Food was champion and so was the service. Will do it again
