Bob & Berts Fountain Street in Belfast

We went there on Monday after flying in for England and Paul was amazing and made us feel so welcome and he became more of a friend has we went to visit the cafe daily and all the staff couldn’t do enough for us and nothing was to much trouble. Thank you Paul and hopefully see you again soon ( we will definitely be back to see u all ) xxx

I thought Bob and Berts had gone downhill a bit recently, but it seems to have really picked up again.The service was excellent, fast and efficient and the food was lovely..The reason appears to be the brilliant Assistant Manager Paul who could not do enough for the customers.He is a great asset to the place.

The staff and knowledgeable about their menu without needing to double check. They are welcoming and don't mind how long it takes to order. You don't wait long for the food which is always enjoyable

Big breakfast/brunch selection. Vegetarian friendly, very tasty food, huge coffees

Family friendly place. A gentleman working here was very attentive and helpful. Service was good and food arrived quickly, considering it was busy. Generally happy with our experience visiting the place along with our baby.

Had the milky bar & chocolate milkshake, both were sour & tasted like it was out of date. But apparently it’s fine because the machine said the temp was -1° ? After a stern look we did get it switched to a hot chocolate. Then our food orders were wrong which added more frustration and overall poor experience

We had a very poor experience last night in this restaurant. We normally love bob and Bert's, but this was disappointing to say the least. There were 8 of us in total, but ordered a few separate orders.we ordered 4 milkshakes in total, and all agreed that they tasted sour and out of date. We brought these up and although this server was very friendly throughout the night, he said "the machine was -1 degrees so it couldn't be bad". He did exchange these for other drinks which was good. A few of us who ordered burgers were informed that they ran out of beef burgers (after ordering), and whether chicken was ok instead. We all agreed. One of us was not asked and was disappointed that he got a chicken burger, and that he would have preferred something different. He didn't change this though as he wanted to eat with the rest of us. The chicken burgers were quite disappointing. I requested no mayo or mustard twice when ordering mine, however mine came with lots of this on it. I felt bad we had complained enough so I scraped this off the best I could. Overall, after spending so much money I was upset that I never enjoyed my meal, and many others the same. I respect the friendliness of the staff, but they just didn't serve the food to instruction or of good quality. I've had nothing but good experiences in other restaurants, so I will continue to go to other locations.

Unacceptable Treatment by Staff Member Kevin at Bob & Berts, Fountain Street As two teachers accompanying a group of 26 well-behaved students, we were appalled by the unprofessional and aggressive behavior exhibited by Kevin during our recent visit. Upon arrival, Kevin immediately adopted an aggressive tone, insisting we split into groups of five and rushing the children to order. When we requested an exception for a group of six, he responded harshly in front of the students. At one point, he accused us of overcrowding the café, despite our significant patronage of approximately £12-£15 per child. Alarmingly, he threatened to issue refunds and leave the children without meals, even though they were seated calmly. Such behavior is entirely unacceptable and suggests that Kevin is ill-suited for customer-facing roles, especially under the manageable pressure of serving an organized group.

Arriba, fuera y alrededor en una hermosa pero amargamente fría mañana de enero mi hermano gemelo y yo decidimos pasar por Bob & Berts y qué gran comienzo de nuestro día. Un gran punto de venta Bob & Berts, el interior es magnífico, decoración y mobiliario encantador, mostradores de servicio con frente de vidrio muestran las golosinas que se ofrecen y hay un montón de opciones de asientos repartidos por todo este lugar, es solo un Bob & Berts realmente bueno para relajarse. Estábamos aquí a la hora de la apertura, pedimos un café cada uno, estos se sirvieron humeantes calientes y para un regalo conseguimos una tarta de crema cada uno, el servicio fue rápido, agarramos una mesa donde masticamos nuestros pasteles y bebimos nuestro café. El café aquí era lugar y pasteles deliciosos, perfecto comienzo de nuestro día. Realmente disfrutamos de nuestros cafés y pasteles aquí antes de seguir adelante y por primera vez visitando este Bob & Berts en particular nos quedamos totalmente impresionados. Bob & Berts es fácil de localizar a lo largo de Fountain Street. El horario de apertura es; De lunes a sábado, de 7 am a 6 pm. Domingo, 8 am a 6 pm. Vale la pena comprobar si estás en la zona.

Came in for an early morning breakfast after an overnight ferry. The staff were welcoming and accommodating, and brilliant with the children. The food was excellent. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Had my family over from Scotland came here for early dinner. I ordered a breakfast as did my son. One with black pudding one without. Mines came out first and was correct my sons took a wee bit longer which was fine but his also had no black pudding. These things happen that was not the issue, the issue was the server, she was passive aggressive and her attitude was terrible. She acted like it was my sons fault and rolled her eyes and walked away whilst we were trying to tell her the order. I ended up going up to the till because I was unsure if she even heard the issue. I told her in no uncertain terms her attitude has a problem. If it were not for that particular server there would have been no issues at all. Won’t be back unfortunately

Decent tasting food, nothing special - tacky decor and vibe - and overpriced (£7 for a single cream cheese/ bacon bagel). Restaurant prices and fast food feel.

Food was so bad, The poached eggs we got were as hard as get out. Very disappointing as we have enjoyed Bob and Bert up the port many's a time

I never normally leave a review for anywhere but I am obsessed with this place 😍!For so many reasons, I am coeliac and have dined breakfast lunch brunch and dinner and the options are amazing and delicious.The staff are superb so so kind so knowledgeable and lovely girl even reassured me that they use separate everything to make my meal and hoped I wouldn’t be worried ! I have been coeliac for 10 and a half years and never have I had so much reassurance from somewhere which is amazing as I feel so normal and relaxed which is rare when going out to eat with an allergy .The food is lovely so much choice which again is rare ! And it’s cheap what more could you want . This location is my favourite in Belfast as I have been to another one but the staff weren’t the same couldn’t recommend more ❤️

Good range of breakfast/brunch/lunch options, including options for vegetarians and (a few) for vegans.

40 minute wait for food just the ginger girl behind the counter to get my order wrong. She was speaking to me as if i were a child and offered to remake the wrap but said it would be another 20 minute wait complete waste of time i will not be back.

Waited 25 mins just for the card machine to stop working just before we got served and we got told it was cash only so we had to leave. Just inconsiderate to people who waited in line for ages (for mediocre food too).

Waited 40 minutes on food (no one told us there would be a wait), filthy knives and forks, smudged water glasses. Ended up having to get the two wraps to go and they didn't even bother to cut it, so we had to rip one down the middle to know which wrap was which. Don't think I'll ever return, really really poor.

We got the poached eggs, with bacon and toast which was lovely! Their coffees are quite big too and the staff are very friendly!

Endless wait of 40 minutes to receive overcooked eggs (not runny) and half of the ingredients missing on the toast. This one was supposed to contain cherry tomatoes, red onions and feta. I'm still looking for them. And when I ask the waiter kindly if he can do something he tells me he's sorry and there's nothing he can do. At €12 for toast and two eggs, the bill is expensive! I do not recommend!

Dirty crockery, staff not very welcoming and non functioning toilets. Plenty of nicer places in Belfast to go.

Had a full breakfast, beans tiny and flavourless, black pudding flavourless, half a pancake with no syrup, egg overdone, everything else just mid, took a long time to be served. Bit crap! First time trying here and wouldn’t be back.

I like Bob and Berts however what passes for clean crockery is a mockery.

An ok choice, friendly staff but just slow. Clearly the kitchen isn’t the right size for the size of place. So 45 min wait for food, bit longer than advised.

Honestly a lovely place to visit, food came extremely quickly and the potatoe bread was delicious as well. Would love to visit here again!

Stopped in for a light breakfast and coffee yesterday. It was so good we decided to have our last sausage roll, bagel and coffees here before we leave your beautiful city. To the young man behind the counter dealing with the two difficult women - you have excellent customer service skills!!

Food is delicious staff are helpful only thing I struggle with in here is trying to navigate a pram round all the tables. Theres isn't always a lot of room

Nos quedamos tan contentos que encontramos un lugar que vende comida sin gluten! Mi marido es celíaco, ha sido muy difícil encontrar una salida de alimentos que lo atienda. Muchos lugares se anuncian como desayunadores sin gluten, cuando en realidad, simplemente tienen pan y huevos! ¡Bob & Berts tiene una fritura completa! Solo leí todas las críticas después de haber comido allí. ¡Sólo puedo suponer que desde 2023, ha habido un cambio completo de personal! El lugar estaba impecable, la decoración es preciosa, al igual que el personal. Sin duda volveríamos aquí si estamos en Belfast!

Food lovely.Spoilt by lack of hygiene. Our table sticky and greasy. Watched dishes being taken from tables without a clean.Could see lettuce remnants on the next table.

A very high standard of customer service. The staff were very apologetic when our order was misplaced. They did not hesitate to offer us free tray bakes while we waited for the extra two minutes. 😂

We sat in and ordered : Kids sausage meal Smoky BBQ panini Bobs Bull Dog The food came to us super fast and was presented really well. We spent our meal complimenting the food. The restaurant was very clean and I can see other tables receiving their food promptly. Good amount of staff in which is keeping the flow of the restaurant well. 100% would return.

Love Bob and Berts always go in wherever I find one.

Remains outstanding. I have eaten here most times I have been in Belfast in the last few years. Fantastic menu, great value, and really friendly and helpful staff. Streets ahead of anywhere else in terms of service, which is efficient even at peak times. Amazing selection of food, and it's very tasty - what more do you want? 😋

Reasonably priced breakfast . Recommend bagel with cream cheese and crispy smoked bacon

A great place to start the day! We had just landed in Belfast and were looking for a quick and convenient place to eat, yet decent and comfortable. We found this in Bob & Bert’s! We had the breakfast wrap which was delightful! A perfect egg with top quality bacon and sausage. Although we didn’t opt for the deal, they had an offer for a hot drink and a breakfast sandwich which seemed to look just as nice as the wrap we had!

Gets busy very quickly. Can tell the staff get overwhelmed very quickly but they did a good job and get every served in a decent time.

Amazing for breakfast, the coffee is rocket fuel which was exactly what was needed before flying! Dead friendly staff and great food.

The food... great value for money and home made plenty of it and at a good price. It beats McDs, hands down. Bob&Berts was busy even at the end of lunchtime yet the food arrived quickly. The background music was great 👍 a mix of 80s. Bob&Berts looks a bit rustic but its a great place to eat. I will be back. Thanks guys, keep up the good work.

Don’t know exactly what it is but I keep coming back to this place when in the city centre. Great menu and nice atmosphere. Decent space for a buggy, all things considered. Wouldn’t call it cheap but not expensive either.

Lovely food and good service. I had the brioche bap with bacon and eggs (from the all day breakfast menu) and my sister had a pancake stack. Both were delicious, plus the staff were very helpful and willing to make small adjustments to the order to accommodate my needs. The only downside is that the toilets could be a lot cleaner. I understand they might be very busy at times, but it was quite quiet when I visited, and there were plenty of staff on hand so there isn't a good reason why the toilets were less clean than they should be. I would recommend this place due to the food but only that.

Great experience. We went for a quick breakfast before our flight. The variety of seating areas were all comfortable. The menu had a very large list of options, the service was very fast and friendly, and the prices were very affordable.

Decent spot for a quick, no fuss breakfast/brunch.

Nice and central location! We had just arrived from London and were starving! So, we were looking for something to start our day with, we had mashed avocado with poached egg and one veggie panini with a decaf latte. Everything was tasty and we were served very quickly! Nice and cozy seating area as well, a bit cold though.

Very good pancakes! For a slice, the friends had waffles which were really not very good and quite dry. In general the fault would be the food and drink a little too sweet

Food was great! Would recommend the eggs benedict. Biscoff rocky Road was 10/10! The girl serving us also gave a free slice of cake as it was my birthday! Would defo recommend it!

Nice central location, early opening doors which is why I visited! Had a rather tasty latte and eggs Benedict. Nothing to write home about, but did the job of filling me up with warm food and caffeine in a decent space with nice vibes. Staff were incredibly friendly and having lots of fun on their shift, laughing, singing and dancing. Always nice to see and hear! Plenty of plug outlets available for charging. Toilets are mixed gender and the state of them was not amazing but not completely dire either.

Bargain breakfast served quickly

I went in at 13:00 on a Wednesday. The cafe was only half full and there were 4 staff behind the counter. I ordered a Bob's club panini (£8.25, chicken, mozzarella, bacon, mixed leaves, tomato & mayo) to take away. After 15 minutes my panini had not arrived and I had to go back to work. I went to the counter to request a refund and was handed my sandwich, which was just ready. I rushed back to the office to eat, where I discovered I had a tiny, dry chicken and bacon sandwich on stale bread. No mozzarella, no mixed leaves, no tomato. Shocking for the price. EDIT: typos

Great morning grub! Nicely put together, really busy place indeed. I went got the halloumi and egg brioche, along with the cheeky hash browns on the side for £2.50. It was a little pricy but considering location / service and food.

We were in on Friday, we had two paninnis which weren't particularly well filled a small dish with sweetcorn and tomatoes, two coffees and a hot chocolate £26 ?

My husband & I called in for lunch here on Mon & were very disappointed. I went to the toilets before my food arrived & they were totally disgusting. 1 was ‘out of order’ & I used the disabled which wasn’t flushing & looked as if it had been like that for days. Another lady came out of the only other toilet looking for toilet roll. There were several tables uncleared, customers had left & dirty cups, cutlery etc lying around. Everywhere just looked very grubby & this was about noon so not even that busy There seemed to be ample staff around. Our food was ok but just the surroundings, toilets was very off putting. We definitely won’t return to this establishment though I have to say we do frequent the Coleraine restaurant & have never encountered any such issues.

Me and my mum had came into Bob and Bert’s in Belfast City Centre today to get some lunch, just after we were served our food an older man with clear mobility issues ( he had a walker) tripped on the matt while leaving. This caused him to fall completely over onto the ground and so did his walker. I am only 16 and me and my mum rushed over to help him up as he proceeded to fall again while trying to help himself up. we had to pull him up together and asked if he was okay, to which he explained his ribs were hurting. The whole of the restaurant including staff did not even try to help or even come over to ask if he was okay and just sat and watched. Me and my mother were so extremely disappointed and angry with the staff as they watched him struggle out of the restaurant. The man had no help other than my mum and I as well as another woman entering the restaurant who was equally appalled. Me and my mum were even further away than the staff themselves to this man. it was disgraceful. I am so disgusted by this, a clear lack of human decency and respect.

Excellent breakfast. Fresh and lots of choices. Great tasting coffee. Staff very friendly. Good value. Go here instead of Harlem which is overrated and over priced.

Would not recommend, £8.50 for 2 pancakes, coffee was bland, breakfast was plain and unseasoned. Will not be coming back.

Very open and welcoming cafe in the centre of Belfast. We visited here last week for breakfast and we were very happy with the selection of food and drinks. We had a mango smoothie (really refreshing!), cappuccino and a couple of scones, and they did us a cup of milk for our 3yo which was really helpful. If we’d not eaten so much the night before we would definitely have tried some of the larger food items on the menu. Just to the left of the till there’s cutlery and butter/jams/sauces etc to help yourself to. Would definitely visit again if we return to Belfast.

Prices are superhigh for small food portions. Drink prices are extortionate. Every time I'm in I've had to ask for the music to be turned down as its far too loud to be relaxing.
