The Hatfield House in Belfast

I live around the corner since appr 2 months and finally had a chance to pop in. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff and really good live music. Absolutely LOVED it so will be back and will try the food as well then. Thank you for a great night.

I got a steak sandwich with chips, it was absolutely gorgeous and well worth the money. The staff were friendly. My partner had a guinness which he said, was lovely.

We had a party in the Hatfield on Saturday night on the Rooftop bar. The staff were amazing, the food was good and the venue was perfect. This used to be a great bar and I was a regular in here up until about 15 years ago. It was always a student bar to an extent, but they have completely compitulated to the student population at the expense of the regulars. Also, one of the best things about tha Hat was the last night offies. I have been twice in the last few weeks for a bottle of red just after midnight, and twice I've been refused by clueless hipsters because "cops are about"!! FYI, I can walk into any bar or restaurant in Belfast, buy a bottle of wine, and take it home. Place is an absolute shadow of what it was

Recently visited from down south Dublin Very very genuine staff looked after me and my peers let us eat food in bar from local pizza place beside bar very friendly bar staff who look after their own ordered us a cab from the bar also was just a pity food was off when we arrived as would have w got some will be visiting belfast more in the future.

Staff are lovely, very attentive, can't do enough for you, unfortunately the food was a let down, chicken curry was well presented but the curry itself was like water and the chicken tasted like frozen pieces, have had other nice meals here before, but disappointed on this visit.

Good local pub. Guinness is fine

The food menu is reasonably priced. I have called in recently a few times for the Guinness, not sure what it is, but the Guinness here is on par for one of the best pints in Belfast, not sure what it is, I think it’s served chilled more than normal. Definitely one of the coldest pints of Guinness I have had. New Guinness only bar in Belfast which you would expect to be the best pint in the City has nothing on the Guinness here.

Last week the Hatfield provided a wonderful setting for my Dad’s post funeral buffet. The staff were respectful and professional and did everything they could to make everyone comfortable! We hired the middle floor and roof garden - a lovely quiet area for the children and elders. The food was comforting and substantial for the occasion and everyone enjoyed it.

I haven't been on the Hatfield for a few years and decided to call in for a drink or two, prior to Belsonic concert. Upon arrival we were greeted with a really friendly Barman who got us our drinks. Having seen someone else order food myself and my Mum decided we would have something here as opposed to the concert.... It did not disappoint. Mum went for the soup and the Guinness muffin and I had the Dirty Chip. Food was incredible and really well priced. We also got offered ponchos from the staff as the rain was coming on and they knew we were going to the concert. There were 3 or four staff working and every one was pleasant, helpful and friendly. I would recommend the pub for drinks and the food for snacks and will return.

Quiet when I was in, but heard they do music on Friday nights from 9.30. Decent pint of Guinness and a bit of character

This is based near where I was staying. Brian was a good lad, very friendly and welcoming who not only poured a lovely pint of Guinness but also gave a good mini tour of the pub. Also worthy of note is Eimear and a couple of other young ladies who work there. Very attentive and helpful. Highly recommended!

Extremely disgusted at the behaviour of the staff at The Hatfield House Belfast. Discriminatory behaviour like this can not keep happening. Me and two friends went the whole way down to watch a local musician perform. There was no tickets required and free entry at the door. I actually had messaged them earlier on Instagram to check what time the live music started and they were happy enough to respond and give me the information. Upon arriving (completely sober) we were refused entry and when we asked why we were rudely told “because you’re not getting in.” We were then laughed at by FOUR bouncers as they continued to let other people enter the premises and also leave the premises with alcoholic beverages. I made a phone call and got in contact with the manager who said his name was Brian. On the phone he said “I can’t see any reason why you were refused. I can tell you are sober. I will speak to the bouncers now and you can try again.” This never happened as I remained outside the venue waiting on Brian who never showed up. I then made another call to Brian who said he would message me on Instagram after he spoke with them. I told him I would rather wait outside for him to come and find out why we were refused. He said he would come and do this now. Which he never did. After this all phone calls and messages have been IGNORED. To be completely honest I believe the bouncers have not let us in for completely discriminatory reasons. It is either because we were all clearly GAY. OR because I am larger than thier normal crowd. Which in 2023 are two completely disgusting reasons to refuse entry to a bar. I have tried to contact the Hatfield House again by phone and also by Instagram message and have had no response. I would strongly recommend anyone to avoid them at all costs as clearly they do not want to resolve the issue.

Cozy place with good fries. I prefer this pub to watch football as it does not feel chaotic.

We booked the private room up stairs for my daddy's 70th birthday with food and music for all the guests that came it was a good night out friendly and helpful staff and also wheelchair friendly as it has a lift for them and accessible toilets also as my auntie and myself are both on walking sticks due to are different medical conditions we are unable to use stairs so that is where the lifts come in handy for the two of use I would recommend the Hatfield House bar and restaurant to all young and old disabled and able bodied people there is everything there for all.

Amazing student hotspot, casual dresswear, Irish to the core. Extremely nice :) not too loud not too quiet, everyone moving about. Fair size for a medium sized pub

A real gem of a traditional pub. Excellent service and brilliant staff.

The Hatfield House staff and customers are all wonderful, the place has a marvellous atmosphere and the door staff made me feel safe. They were kind enough to allow me to collect donations for Autism Community Initiative NI. I can't reccommend the place highly enough and the students certainly love it.

Great pub with lots of historic significance. Staff is wonderful and accommodating- gave us a first tour and history of the establishment.

Lovely spot - great rooftop garden - staff friendly and helpful.

Stopped off here for a wee cheeky cocktail (or two). Staff were friendly and place was clean and tidy. Sun was shining so we sat outside and watched the world go by. Cocktails were £7 and treated like they actually had alcohol in them unlike at other places. Ordered some Dirty Fries as a small snack and the portion size was really good. Some melted cheese would have been a good addition to the dish. Decoration has been done with some thought and attention. Toilets smelled fresh and looked clean.

Bouncers are very unprofessional, kicked me out instead of the boys that started on me because it was less people to remove. Definitely 1* review worthy with below par bouncers with no conflict resolution skills.

Was in this pub last night was served all night then the fellas on the door just asked up to leave and they had no reason I wouldn't recommend this pub to any one very shameful thing what they did last night stay away !!!!@@

The Pneumatic Park attached to the Hatfield House is one of the most chill bars I've ever been to. Great staff, great drinks, and great craic. Wish I could take the whole place back to London with me.

This was the most amazing beer garden I’ve ever been to! The boys behind the bar were absolute gents and so helpful! Stumbled on the bar by chance and so delighted we did! Amazing cocktails, lovely vibe! The lady in the hellbent food van was so so sweet too! Definitely visit if you get the chance 10/10!

Great food, great craic, locals unite. Good selection of draft beers, didn't ask for any craft ales so I don't know what they have. It was brilliant to see the staff back and Ciaran at the head of the ship.

Ordered pints to be delivered tonight as a Fathers day gift, waited 40 mins past delivery slot and rang the bar to be told I was booked in for tomorrow night...which was not the case due to work commitments...very disappointed and extremely poor service...

Just ordered from here tonight, ordered food and 10 coors....was abit of a mix up where they just sent the drink but phoned them and they sorta it right away. Have to say the food was absolutely gorgeous! Will definitely be ordering from here again and the 2 free desserts for the mix up was a nice touch! Excellent food!

A Thursday afternoon. Steak Stack and Guinness from the menu. Super sound bar staff and good local vibe. Smoke out the front but not sure if there’s another area. FairPlay to staff/owners/chefs all round.

It was quiet on a Saturday night, as it's a student bar, but it's a nice bar with plenty of options for beer on draft and screens all over for sports. It also has an off licence. They'd live music, a man with a guitar which made all the difference.

Live music and good prices on drinks. The decor is lovely. The music was a tad on the loud side though. It made it very difficult to communicate.

A must visit when in Belfast walkable but no 6& 7 buses + others stop outside. Large Heritage pub great memorbility everywhere. Brilliant

We went to the Hatfield for a quick bite to eat before a music session in another bar close by. I am generally not a great fan of bar food, but the food here is tasty, plentiful and very reasonable too. Service was good and friendly. Food way better than I was expecting. Not fancy, but very good..

This is a very good example of a tradtional Belfast pub offering a friendly welcome and a very good pint of Guiness. There is some interesting memorabilia to see and I am sure it will evoke a lot of memories for people. The food menu is basic but reasonably priced.
