Best Curry I have ever tasted. We were staying at Appin and in advance searched for decent curries on the internet. This one came with very good revues so thought we would give it a try. It is in a remote lovely place but as long as you take your time and be courteous using passing places on the single track road you should have no problem. We arrived and it wasn't open but after speaking to the lovely Lady and explaining our predicament she very kindly said she would help us. We purchased a Chicken Vindaloo, a lamb Pasanda and some Pelau rice. We can honestly say these were the best curries we have ever had. Obviously they use fine ingredients with the right amount of spice. They are not the usual pureed sauce that you normally get, you can see and taste the ingredients. I now wish we had purchased more to bring home with us, it is definitely worth sampling them, you won't be disappointed.

Phils takeaway frozen curries are excellent, and Phil himself really accommodating. We were staying locally in self catering accommodation and had a curry on our last might - wish we had done it sooner, and we would have had two!

Small little restaurant, so you must book. Nice people. Starter was very good - Kebab. Now for a moan. The biriani had 4 cubes of chicken at best and a pile of rice. For a dish that costs as much as you could buy 3 whole chickens!!, but you choose to be a bit tight on the quantities of meat. What a shame. Will I return? Maybe if everywhere else was closed and I wanted a plate of rice?

Please please please change back to the original sag paneer recipe it was creamy, sweet and absolutely delicious. I came back here just for that only to be told that the new manager wanted the chef to change the recipe which just tasted like wet spinach with cheese cubes. I can honestly say to the new manager if you are reading this you have made a terrible decision. Other than this the staff are fantastic and the rest of the food was nice but to anyone who wants a good sag paneer don’t go here unless of course they change it back

Ordered a Balti and a Pasanda by phone for collection. The order was already bagged when it was collected 20 minutes later and when we got it home it was a Balti and a Tikka Masala. When we called we were told it wasn't Tikka Masala, the region they represent has a spicy, tomato-based Pasanda. When we quoted their own online description (Pasanda is a mild, creamy sauce with almonds) they agreed to deliver a real Pasanda immediately. 40 minutes later it arrived, what a disappointment. Pasanda was just salty slop, Balti wasn't much better. Mass produced mush, I don't understand how this has won awards against genuine curry houses that use fresh ingredients.

Wasn't expecting such delicious curry in Campbeltown. We had the Naga lamb, achari chicken, prawn biryani, saag panir, peshwari naan and poppadoms. Big chunks of meat and panir, punchy spice on the lamb, lovely sourness on the achari. We polished everything off - 100% recommend. Thank you!

My partner is disabled and I just want to thank John for being so kind and helpful.during our visit there. On arrival John and another member of staff very kindly lifted my partners mobility scooter up the steps which allowed him to walk into restaurant with his walking stick.....we would never have managed without John and staff being so helpful. The food was first class and again John helped and advised us on our dishes. What we really liked was that we were not rushed and given ample time between courses. On leaving the scooter was taken down steps for us again. We will definately return to taj mahal when back in oban. The staff were amazing but John is an absolute credit to the restaurant . Thank you once again for making our evening so relaxed and pleasant. John & Margaret

Popped in here on the last day of our 5 day trip to Port Charlotte, just for a cup of tea and a cake, as we were having a meal later. Was surprised to see such a full menu, if we had known sooner we would have dined here. Instead, one night we had driven to Bowmore for a meal, as our hote reataurnat was fully booked.so tea, coffee and cake it was, and theywas lovely. I ended up coming back later that day for a baked potato. The facilities were clean, and the staff friendly (We visited during Covid-19).There were outside tables with a sea view and a large car park, as it is serving a campsite. If I am ever in Islay again, I will be sure to come here for a meal.

First time here and it'll be the last. I paid £7.50 for 4 scraggy bits of chicken pakora. Was told that my main came with rice (it didn't), was charged £2.50 for a glass of Coke (cans of Barrs cola). The place was overrun with bluebottles, and there were dead insects on the ledge next to us. It wasn't worth the money I paid. We will not be returning!
