Popped in here on the last day of our 5 day trip to Port Charlotte, just for a cup of tea and a cake, as we were having a meal later. Was surprised to see such a full menu, if we had known sooner we would have dined here. Instead, one night we had driven to Bowmore for a meal, as our hote reataurnat was fully booked.so tea, coffee and cake it was, and theywas lovely. I ended up coming back later that day for a baked potato. The facilities were clean, and the staff friendly (We visited during Covid-19).There were outside tables with a sea view and a large car park, as it is serving a campsite. If I am ever in Islay again, I will be sure to come here for a meal.

Excellent food at bargain prices! We ate as a family of 5. We had a mix of fish and chips and burgers, including the vegetarian option. Lovely friendly staff, efficient service and bargain prices. We will be back.

Just back from our visit to Islay and stayed for 4 nights at this campsite. Lovely food and great to see such a well used community space....enjoyed the local football match on Wednesday evening!

The welcome and service in the restaurant was very good, the staff were only just getting into holiday mode for the season when we visited but I’m sure they will be in top gear soon. The food was excellent and for this type of premises the choice of drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic was very good. Sure to return again next visit to the island.

We had a group of 22 people at the restaurant and all thoroughly loved it. The menu has a great deal of variety of traditional British dishes. However, many of us had the curry, which was excellent, with lots of flavour and heat levels. The new owners and staff are all very friendly and helpful. The waiter staff needs to focus a bit more on checking on the customers for drink refills and clearing the plates, however, I suspect that these are just growing pains. We loved the meal and will be going back next year for our annual family dinner out. The restaurant decor is relatively low-key but tasteful with a beautiful view out to Loch Indaal. I highly recommend the Port Mor Community Restaurant.

Sometimes you need to be exceptional to stamp your mark in a small town and despite it being a cold october night the taj mahal was fairly busy. A few tables plus takeaways were keeping staff busy. A friendly welcome was followed by a quick service. A nice mahkani masala with rice and mixed pakora were appreciated!!

Visited for dinner, one of the few places in Rothesay where you can sit in for food after 8pm. Had a look in before and discovered it was a BYOB place so went to the Co-Op and bought a few beers to take with us. Have the chefs platter to start with very very tasty and a nice mix. Lamb biryani for the main, slightly grease but quite a lot of good size lamb pieces. Definitely worth a visit.
