It’s only fair to start with the fact that my friend who booked us in regularly eats here and it’s great. However, I have a shellfish allergy and so I phoned the day before to check they can cater for that. I spoke to the manager who said they don’t have shellfish. I then pointed out that the starters alone contain many prawn dishes and he said yes, they do prawns. He obviously didn’t know that prawns are shellfish. This was a worrying start but I carried on with my query. Could they cater for a shellfish allergy? He said yes they could do a shellfish free meal. I asked if that means they would have a shellfish free area to prep my meal. ‘No’ was the answer, the kitchen is too small. I just had a drink with my friends and went home to eat. It seemed way too risky. Also another friend who came couldn’t eat because she is vegan and they couldn’t cater for her either. I feel sad giving a bad review but in the case of allergies, this is very serious and so I thought I’d post. The rest of the company had a lovely time there but if you have an allergy, you can now make an informed decision about whether to eat at this restaurant.

Absolutely disgusting service. Waited 1hr 30 minutes for collection. The young staff were verbally abused by the owner infront of customers- VERY unprofessional!! 3 table bookings walked out due to the long long wait. No apologies. It was very disappointing as the food was lovely (once we finally got it) The young staff were greatly under pressure and not respected by the owner. This may determine whether I go there again or not. They clearly need more staff and to brush up on their manners. Respect your staff or lose them.

Second visit, first was lovely, not so this time, my curry was OK but was a little lacking in meat content!! My wife's was nothing like what was ordered, butter chicken, sauce looked like pureed melon or rhubarb and was overly sweet, chef was not bothered 'what can I do' disappointing following our first experience

Fantástico restaurante. La comida era maravillosa. Se sentía como un sabor de auténtica comida india. Deliciosa. Los camareros no podrían haber hecho más por nosotros.

Absolutely love Twydall Tandoori. Recently decorated and it looks beautiful. The food is excellent and the drinks are reasonably priced. The staff are very good. Sometimes you have to attract their attention if you require something as they are very busy especially on a Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Monday and Wednesday are quiet days, Sunday can be a quiet or busy day. Free parking in Twydall shopping area, just opposite the restaurant. The atmosphere is lovely but can be a bit noisy on busy days. Twydall Tandoori is well worth a visit and you shouldn't be disappointed. In my personal opinion it's one of the best Tandoori restaurants for miles around.

Moving to the area three years ago the place was recommended and rightfully so. I know the Indian food on Brick Lane really well and Eastern Promise meets that standard. The combination of herbs, spices and ingredients in general is really well balanced and simply I cannot recommend them highly enough.
