Twydall Tandoori in Medway

This is our favourite Indian restaurant. Food always lovely, service always good and so is the atmosphere but was shocked last night when we noticed on the bill that for 2 cans of coke we were charged £6.70 😲. As we keep being told on the news inflation has fallen again I hope that the same follows with the prices of your drinks

First visit at Twydall Tandoori. Easily my favourite experience at an Indian restaurant! Big thanks to Tee and the staff for an enjoyable night. Great food and great service. Recently moved into the area from Parkwood and thought i’d give it a go and was not disappointed!

Tonight I had a lovely meal in here and can't wait to come back.

Lovely fresh food, great service and atmosphere. Always busy, which is a good sign of a great restaurant! Has become my go to when ordering Indian.

Be aware that they offer a 20% discount for a collection,what they dont mention is that 20% is if you order it online and they also dont mention that they put the online prices up by 8.3% so order by phone and get the 15% discount as it works out cheaper!

Recently booked a meal with some mates, service was far from outstanding, waiters were quite rude and not very welcoming at all. However that is the least of my concerns. All 3 of us who had food threw up and had very dodgy stomachs hours after eating continuing into the next day. When speaking to the restaurant about this they were very rude and did not offer any kind of apology. Would avoid at all cost!

Heard good reviews about this place, so had to try it out. Booked an early table (for 5 people for 5.30pm) a few days in advance to avoid disappointment. Arrived on time and was seated quickly. They only had the option of one type of beer and only the large size, which I was ok with. But may not suit others that want a different beer and maybe a smaller bottle. The worst part of this experience was waiting 😡1.5hrs for our starters to arrive!! 3 of us ordered lamb chops for starters, it felt like a lifetime waiting that long for your food to arrive. They must of driven to the wholesalers bought the chops then brought them back to cook them! When the food finally arrived on the table, I was shocked to discover how tuff and over cooked they were (2-3 chops on 3 of our plates). I have, hand on heart never eaten lamb that tuff and chewy before, it wasn't nice at all! Whilst waiting the hour and half for the almost inedible starter to arrive we had finished our drinks and wanted a second. I had to go to the waiter at the bar to get his attention as he was too busy on his phone to notice customers patiently waiting for service/drinks/food! Even then he didn't serve me immediately, he finished doing what ever it was on his phone first - quite rude I thought!😠 During our unacceptably wait for starters there was 2 other couples who came in ,were served, ate there food, paid and left before we even got out first bite of food!🤦‍♂️ The rest of the food arrived in good time and was very tasty - but was bolted down due to being so hungry. No attempt was made to offer a reduction in price as a way of compensation at the end - we didn't ask (but this should of been recognised as unacceptable and automatically offered). Overall experience was very lack luster and disappointing. Would I go back again or recommend? 🤔NO!

Second time booking a table here using the website. First time was for a leaving doo, booked it weeks in advance for a Saturday evening for 16 people which was confirmed by email. Myself and my partner decided to go to Twydall Tandoori the weekend before and I happened to ask a guy there about our large booking. He decides to tell me that they couldn't cater for 16 people even though I had confirmation of the booking by email, no one called me from the restaurant to tell me there was a problem with the booking and that they couldn't fulfill the booking. So basically if I hadn't of gone in there the week before I would have been none the wiser. Had to cancel 4 people from our party 😡 and tell them they couldn't go. Fast forward to today December 30th, again booked online using their website, again get a confirmation booking for me and my partner for 5 30pm New Year's Eve.. Received a call from the restaurant to say we need to have finished our meal by 7pm and leave. So no relaxing and taking our time eating the meal and having a few glasses of wine. Why is this restaurant using a booking service that also confirms your booking by email if they have no intention of keeping the booking even though its confirmed. Absolutely terrible way to run a business, and when you complain your met with rudeness and sarcasm.

Service was very slow, had to keep calling the waiter over for drinks. Came to take our order before we saw the menu. Food was good and reasonably priced

Had a lovely meal tonight, one of the best Indians I had in a long while. The staff are very friendly and polite. They were busy, but I would have had a couple more drinks, but did not get asked if we needed another one. Will go back again

First and last time got there at 7pm did not get our starter till 8.15 and our mains till 9.45 there was 16 of us so they just wanted ti serve beer for as long as they could before giving us our food and the food has had me and my son in the wc all night like I said never again

I eat here with a friend on banquet night last week , ( see their website for details ) This was not a buffet , everything we choose was cooked fresh So impressed with their food and service , will now be a regular ! Quality and taste is easily on par with the dearer Indians in the area , give it a try

We booked a family meal for our daughters birthday. We had a fantastic evening. The food choices were great. The meals were delicious. Staff were amazing. We were allowed to bring a birthday cake, and embarrass our daughter singing Happy Birthday, which made our experience fabulous. We totally recommend a visit.

I go here despite living in Brompton - the staff are Friendly and Polite and the food is great as is the service. If you're thinking about going there don't JUST GO.

Went here for a Christmas get together Havn’t been for a few years but I heard good things. The food was amazing the staff faultless. Infact it was so yummy we got a takeaway less than a week later.

Never have I encountered such rude staff. One staff member in particular was exceptionally aggressive, maybe he wasn't hugged enough as a child. Huge chip on his shoulder and when asked a reasonable request he thought the best way to deliver "customer service" was to argue with the customer. If you have a complaint about your food or the restaurant do not expect to have a reasonable conversation. Food was cold by the time he'd finished his rant and we got round to eating it. Will never go back.

It’s still as good as it was when i first came! I’ve written 2 previous reviews the last 2 years. And these boys deserve another one! Since the first visit nothing has changed. Consistently good with great service. We have built a genuine friendship over the past few years. So much so, they have added a dish on their new menu i recommended, from our first conversation. I cannot fault this place at all. A nice treasure i have found myself in the middle of Twydall! Long may it continue.

Beautiful. Honestly i can’t praise this restaurant enough. Have been coming here for the last 2 years. Ever since our local restaurant in Strood closed down. We were on the hunt for a new Indian. The food here has to be the best we’ve had. Thats why we keep coming back! Clean and smart looking restaurant. Although small but very busy! Lovely welcoming family run restaurant. Rude, aggressive staff, attempting to intimidate a female customer. Have used this place regularly for years but never again and will make sure all my family and friends who use it are aware of this and will encourage them to never use them again. Basic customer service totally lacking and extreme attitude problems. If you are looking for a pleasant evening, go anywhere else as it can't possibly be worse than here.

Recently had a meal with friends the food was excellent a great variety on the menu the restaurant is very small and was busy which is always a good sign. We will definitely come back again!

My 2nd review of this restaurant, and about time too,well I have probably eaten at this restaurant at least 250 times since my first review of this establishment and things just get better, food is fantastic staff are great, I shouldn't call them staff really I class each member now as a friend, I dont need to find anywhere else because I dont believe the quality of food and service cantbeaten locally..infact if on the odd occasion I forgot to book and cant be seated I find myself making my way to another 1 of their restaurants. In a nutshell if your looking for quality home cooked Indian food look no further just allow a little time as all food is fresh and made to order ,

Just moved into the area and this was the second take away we've had. The food was delicious, fresh and tasty. The staff were very friendly too. Looking forward to an evening out here in the not so distant future.

New owners .. never done a review before but they deserve it ... food was amazing. Very friendly family run restaurant. You need to go. I posted this two years ago and ha e been back since.. Never again ... moved from our seats then sworn at when i challange why we had to move... I hope the owner sees this and contacts me.

First time eating here lastnight. Was quiet in the restaurant but they were rushed off their feet for takeaways. All the staff were very friendly, polite and welcoming. The food was the best curry we’ve had, the chicken was so tender it just fell apart, this is 100% our new favourite

After booking on a Thursday for a Saturday meal, they had forgotten out booking, but accommodated us even though they were very busy. The wait was a bit long but when the food arrived it was amazing. The Madras was spicy an full of flavour and the standard chicken curry was gorgeous. The winner has to be the naan bread which was divine.

Went here for the first time last night for my birthday and had a great night, the food was lovely and could not fault this restaurant, can't wait to go again soon I hope. 😊

Family of 5 out for dinner. We chose to go for the banquet night with our teenage kids. Restaraunt could do with a tidy up, the decor was a bit tired and shabby but the table was spotless and cutlery gleaming. Got drinks, ordered food, poppadum and dips, so far so good. Ordered mains, as it was our kids first indian meal, we ordered mild dishes ie, Kormas, tikka masala, panda etc as too spicy would have put them off. When I finished ordering the waiter was sneering and questioned my choice of food, actually saying " you know what you've ordered is a bit mild for men to eat". Didnt realise that choosing food was actually a question of masculinity! Anyway, food was delicious and good servings, but waiter was trying to rush us and remove dishes as we were eating. Not good. Loved the food but wont be back, think he was happier serving the table of lads next to us who were swearing constantly, downing pints and wolfing Madras and vindaloo, fair play to them, but the staff were rotten, prissy and sneery. We wont be back, shame really.

Ordered a takeaway- first one since the lockdown began. We all ordered something different to our usual online. Needless to say, it was amazing as always! Piping hot, lovely flavours. Best Indian takeaway we have ever tried, absolutely 0 faults and friendly staff upon collection. Keep it up guys!

One of the very best Indian Restaurants in the country. I should know as where ever I have visited or lived I tend to eat a Curry. The Chicken or meat phall is amazing, it comes as gravy, but I love a thicker sauce so they make it thicker and it's 10/10. The onion bargee's are big and proper. It's all amazing. We used to come here and stopped due to it becoming really run down and horrible food, we decided to come back when we found out there was new management and since then we have been here many times and every single time it has been brilliant. The food is fantastic, it’s always delicious, served hot and on time. The people are great too, it’s a family run place and they pride themselves on making you feel comfortable and welcome. I honestly can’t recommend Twydall Tandoori enough it’s such a fantastic atmosphere and amazing food every time.

If you are looking for a dining experience this is the place for you! I used to come every so often before it changed hands but now visit at least once a week, I come with friends and with family and it’s always great! Food always comes out hot and delicious, if there’s a negative it’s that the food is cooked fresh to order so takes a little longer but it’s not a fast food outlet it’s a dining experience :-) From the first visit We were treated like family and will keep coming back! Don’t mind the negative review we were in here that night and they were gobby, swearing at the staff and plain rude!! 22/02/2020 the restaurant won’t miss any of them!

What an amazing night out with the family. Booked for my daughters 25th birthday. What a gem. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiles and really polite staff who sat us down at our table. The father/owner of the business was there to sit us down and welcome us, what a gentlemen. Throughout the night the staff who were the owners sons and nephews were there to guide us through the menu as well as swiftly serve the drinks and popadoms. Going onto the food.... it was just IMMACULATE. You could tell the food was freshly cooked, well spiced and just sublime. Complements to the Chef. It is by far the best Indian restaurant I've been to in a while. Its been so good that i myself have become a regular now ordering takeaways from this restaurant. The family that run the restaurant are the most welcoming and the most loveliest people. From the get go the environment and the atmosphere was just a homely cosy place to eat at. Props and applause to the owner and sons who have created a haven where food is immaculate and the service is just faultless. Amazing. I could not be happier. ALSO make sure to book in advance as they are really busy, nevertheless it did not hinder their service at all infact it just highlighted how good the restaurant is! Thank you to the owners and sons! I’ll be ordering my next takeaway as soon as im done writing this! :)

This place has gone so down hill!! I went on here on Saturday night for the first time since it was taken over as I now live in Buckinghamshire. How I was shocked how downhill it has gone since I last went here, I come with some family friends and told them how good it was but we all left disappointed. Food was cold and not what we ordered asked to have it replaced and was just look at then told it is what we ordered. Saw a couple of gentleman just walking to the bar fridge and taking their own beers out, ok they might be regular customers I don’t know but they are not at home and this made us feel very uncomfortable. They might of paid for them I actually don’t know. One of these gentleman actually just walked in to the kitchen where the food is prepared in his normal clothes. I’m sorry but what is he doing in there if he isn’t a chef, an employee or the boss. I don’t think he was any of these but seemed to know the staff well and was just having a meal like us. This just isn’t on we don’t know what he was doing and what he could of done to our food or anyone else’s. Finish this by saying I will never step foot in this place again and I use to go in there when I lived down here twice a week. My advice is don’t waste you money in here.

We went as a family for our son's birthday. We had a great meal. The food was varied, authentic and well - cooked and tasted delicious. The portion sizes were good. The staff were very nice and so polite. The atmosphere and decor were quite pleasant but the decor was a little dated, but this didn't detract from our meal at all. I would definitely recommend to anyone living locally in the Gillingham area.

Recently ate here, whilst I've often had a takeaway in which the food has been brilliant I decided to eat here with my partner. This place doesn't look much on the outside, but it's a hidden gem! The decor inside is nice, and the floor space is adequate. So now the important stuff... The food is brilliant with a portion size that is appropriate. (enough to fill you up, but not enough to be greedy) The staff are really friendly and polite and service is prompt! Price is reasonable, especially considering the food is fantastic! I had a lamb madras, the lamb was good quality and the spice was perfect, a good kick, but not so overpowering that it was just heat with no taste! Well done to these guys, the owner should be proud and keep things the way they are! Will definetly be back!
