First time ordering from them food was nice

Everyone needs to avoid this takeaway as this was the worst indian takeaway experience ever. Below is an email I sent with deliveroo and had no satisfactory solution from either takeaway or deliveroo. Mar 12, 2022, 21:45 GMT To whom it may concern I am writing to you to make a complaint in regards to my order with Indian Ocean and the poor attitude recieved from one of your allocated drivers working for this business this very evening . 1st off the order was made with Indian Ocean in borstal kent, today 12/03/22 at 18:00, on your site. The estimated time off arrival was due for 19:05. we waited till 19:30 before phoning up Indian Ocean to find out when our order would arrive. The gentleman on the phone apologised and said the delivery left 20 mins ago (so around 19:10) and would be with with us very soon due to how busy they were. We left this for a further 20 mins and called them up again and I spoke to a lady this time who was very rude and unhelpful and got passed onto another lady who eventually stated they would chase the driver up. I recieved a call back 5 mins later to say the lady driver would be with us in 10 mins. However she proceeded to claim my delivery address was incorrect, stating it was telling them to go to maidstone which is why this was delayed. I'm afraid I don't buy this story due to the fact I typed in my details correctly and they still arrived at the correct address at me2 as per online form that was completed myself. The driver arrived at 20:00 with our order and stated the same story as the above lady. I questioned how can this be the case when I filled my form out correctly? Also I questioned the fact they arrived to the correct address, in which her response was it wasn't her problem and tried to fob this off. The food we ordered was incomplete and was cooked to a very poor standard as detailed below. The following items were missing 4 poppadoms 1 Mint sauce 1 pilau rice The currys were very greasy and tastless, the rices we did recieved had no flavour and were of poor quality. I would very much request a full refund due to the poor service I received throughout. If unsuccessful I will escalate this further until I get the result I fully deserve. I will hold off using bad reviews online till this gets resolved on both yours and Indian Ocean website

Well I always like to make my own opinion on food, but I wish I had taken heed of these last 3 reviews. But I would have thought the restaurant owner would have read them and acted on them because it has not changed. It’s tasteless food, literally had to drain the oil off my chicken chilli garlic before I could eat it, even then it didn't taste of anything, the veg rogan Josh my wife had literally just tasted like veg in a tub of oil. Swerve this place!

Drove around for ages to find out that there postcode on website isn’t even right and to find out there shop isn’t even called Indian Ocean! Also forgot some stuff from my order! Don’t order from here, no energy for this at all

Worst food ! Every thing has a ton of oil..waste of money

Awful tasteless food, literally had to drain the oil off my madras before I could eat it, even then it didn't taste of anything, the butter chicken my wife had literally just tasted like a lump of chicken in a tub of utterly butterfly. Swerve this place!

Do not order from here. We spent 40 pounds tonight and what a waste of money. Cheese naan, the cheese was off. Kebab were off. Everything covered in oil and more food colouring than a super market. Save your money and make a sandwich at home.

Worst Indian I have ever had!! No flavour, just oil and water 🤮🤮 and the onion bhajee was just deep fried slush!! Didn't even taste of onion!!! Awful

After numerous orders, unfortunately that was the last time tonight. Every time we order, the food is roughly 20-30 minutes late. When calling to ask, the driver has always ‘just left’. 25 mins after the estimated time, ‘sorry we have been busy, your driver has just left 5-10 mins’. 25 minutes later the food arrives…just about warm. It’s a shame because on the whole the food is tasty but late deliveries, warm food and being misled by staff will mean different options in the future.

Chicken add oil, add curry powder, add more oil until all taste is gone. Horrible food and a complete waste of money which is hard earned these days! Will avoid at all costs from now on.

Ordered from here via Uber Eats a few weeks back and it took two hours to arrive..... wasn’t gonna order from here again because of that, but they sent me a discount code, so thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt....... again, it took nearly two hours to arrive! Unfortunately there won’t be a third time. It’s a shame as the food is ok, but not so good that I’m prepared to wait two hours for delivery. I won’t be ordering from here again.

Had two meals from here, first was great, second was average with smaller portions and overdone onion bhajis. The quest goes on for a 'go to' curry takeaway in Medway.

By far the bestest indian takeaway I've ever had! Bold fiery flavours! The food was at high standards, chicken madras was soft and perfectly cooked! I'm coming back too these guys all the time from now on! Very pleased 😁

The absolute best indian takeaway I've ever had. Since moving to the area (about a year ago) we have ordered from here around once a month, they have got every order correct, always deliver within a good amount of time and the food is delicious! Can't fault them!

Ordered from here as my usual was closed. Although the order was delivered on time, it was incorrect. I called the restaurant and they managed to rectify the issue quickly by asking the driver to come back and deliver my order. Delivery driver and restaurant staff were friendly and apologetic. By this point, I was eager to eat but when taking the food out the bag, it didn’t look appetising... however, it’s the taste that counts right? The curry was very bland and watery. The saag paneer had 4x small cheese chunks in what I can only describe as a mixture of grated spinach and watery brown soup(?). The onion bhaji’s weren’t crispy or flavoursome but very stiff and stodgy. The only food I could stomach was the mint sauce and popadoms. I did not even attempt to try the naan bread. I was very disappointed that I’d wasted my money as I haven’t treated myself to a takeaway for 6 months. I ended up scraping the plate into the bin (along with the leftovers). It’s sad to see all the food go to waste but I just couldn’t eat it. Thank you for rectifying the delivery issue but unfortunately, I won’t be returning🙁. I hope other customers do not have this experience.

I ordered my food at 7:30pm and it turned up at 9:55pm. I can appreciate it’s busy however I call three times to ask about the order and got told different things each time I called. When my food eventually arrived it was stone cold

Ordered from Indian Ocean many times now & can't fault it, it has been on point every single time. Highly recommend the Dansak, onion bhajis & saag panner. Friendly staff.

So many times with Indian takeaway all dishes taste the same. This take away is second to none. I think I’ve ordered 3 or 4 times for home delivery and each time absolutely fabulous .. wouldn’t order from anywhere else now .. we’ll done guys

We ordered our first takeaway from here tonight. The best Saag Paneer I have ever had. Really impressed that the gentleman taking my order could speak directly to the chef. They asked for feed back which I gave. The food was very good, the only negative being that the naan was a bit tough and cold - I think it had been sitting a while, but it was a home delivery. I do encourage you to try this curry house.

First time ordering and very impressed, food was lovely and delivered on time by a lovely gentlemen. Will definitely order again.

I honestly can't believe people are giving this place 5 stars. Our recent order was awful.

The food was OK it arrived 2 hours late and one of the dishes was beef when we specifically ordered chicken. there was no cheese on the nan when we ordered one with and one with out and anything with red sauce was grainy the chips was only a hand full. The worst part of our experience here is two things the food arrived freezing cold and tubs were so badly labeled you could bairly read them it has now made sure we will not order from here again first and last time such a waste of £70 worth of food.

Although the staff seem great, our order was totally wrong. Wrong meat in the meat dish, wrong type of naan, only 4 prawns in the king prawn dish, no dips with the starters. And the offer of a free starter with orders over £30 never came. Very poor.

Fantastic food best indian around.

Ordered from here before and the food has usually been spot on. Tonight however, I have to rate poor.. curry was bland, meat was dry and bread was overly sweet... hope they haven’t dropped their standards.

We had a lockdown takeaway delivered free last week from Indian Ocean. We had the restaurant recommended to us. It was delicious, well cooked and fresh. We had prawn tikka masala and a chef special with sides etc that were really tasty. We are planning to get another takeaway from here soon.

Just had another takeaway from this gem. All good was excellent and very reasonable. The Mrs had a chiefs special fish curry as she's a pescatarian and she rates this curry house as the best locally. Can't wait till next time!

Excellent Food.. We have never had a bad meal. They are always very polite on the phone and the meals have always been delivered piping hot and on time.

Order 5 dishes from Indian Ocean today. I found the staff very friendly and they was happy to go the extra mile to make a custom dish which was not on the menu. Food was served quicky, very hot and most importantly super tasty. I will definitely be back!

I always order from this place even though I live in Rochester. Best around by far! The Tandoori chicken is on another level! Lovely food. Large portions... Always spot on. Defo recommend.

The food is always excellent quality. I used their delivery service for the first time on Saturday as always collected previously. The delivery was 20 minutes later than the time I requested. One item was missing (main dish) so called the restaurant. The missing item was sent out but the driver delivered to the wrong house number. Bit disappointed on this occasion but hopefully this is a one off

Fantastic food! Cannot believe that this has barely any reviews. I live pretty near to this takeaway and therefore I tend to use it quite regularly. The food is always of great quality and much fresher than you'd expect from a takeaway. Would highly recommend if you enjoy a good Indian.
