Have eaten here twice in the last few months and overall am not really impressed. The restaurant itself is really small with tables tightly packed making a very loud and hot atmosphere. However, it is the food which is a real letdown. The starters and breads were OK, but for the main courses everything seemed to lack flavour and just ultimately tasted the same – I think I sampled all of the main courses from our group and the sauce was near on identically bland . Also I found the sauces really oily and left an unpleasant taste in the mouth. On the plus side, the staff were really friendly and kept us topped with drinks, just sadly let down by the food. Unfortunately I can’t see me wanting to return here

Menu was varied and lots of tempting food. Food came out hot and service was quick. Staff were incredibly friendly and chatted to us. The owner was lovely and took time to make sure everything was at its best. Other customers seemed like they were regulars while it was our first time. We will definitely visit again, and take our friends there too. Highly recommended for good food, and a friendly, warm welcome.

Terrible food cold tasted like it was off and had no spice to it at all. I could not eat much of it as it made me feel unwell. My wife also thought it was not good. I ate about one fifth before giving up on it . I have never written a review about a restaurant before and this is because it was so very terrible.never go there or eat there.

3 of us went here on a busy Friday evening. The atmosphere was quite rowdy and noisy but the curry was very good especially the Shashlick-E-Bahar. The garlic naan was excellent. The service was prompt and friendly. I would definately return.

Tarana has been a place we've enjoyed visiting from few times and we found this time we were a bit disappointed. Facilities in the main had taken a knock, we turned up and there was a damp smell when sat, which we found out was the toilets which are in a sorry state now. Food itself was good, service a little hectic without much direction due to large table but the staff did what they can to keep everyone happy. Service wise they were as attentive as they could be. We did find that drinks wise they didn't have everything on menu which is a disappointment when looking forward to it as they offered a good selection. Overall, good night out but will look other places in future. This place has lost a bit of its shine since opening unfortunately.

Place was very busy indicating that it’s good food , was not disappointing food was lovley (unfortunately through no fault of owners ,travellers shout abuse at staff) which was a little bit of an off put but meal was lovley

I ordered a meal from the Just Eat service which advised a delivery time of 20 to 40 minutes. The order was confirmed with a revised time of an hour. After an hour and 45 minutes I rang to ask where my food was, I was told it would be 10 minutes, I replied that this was unacceptably late and was told "don't worry about it" then the phone was hung up. The food was delivered 2 hours and 10 minutes after ordering. Poor quality food, Jalfrezi swimming in oil and the vegetable curry that came with the biriani was just onions and potato. Quite possibly the worst Indian restaurant in Rainham. Never again

Delivery took over 2 hours, when ringing to ask why I had not received my order I was told "don't worry about it" he then hung up. Food was poor quality. Jalfrezi swimming in oil. Good food but kept pushing back delivery time meaning our food took almost 2h to arrive from ordering. Food appeared quickly after I called to find where it was. More honest appraisal of delivery times required

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. Awful customer service. Ordered, called for an update and was advised I was the next delivery despite not knowing my address. Called 40 minutes later and was told they were too busy to fulfil my order. Hung up on me multiple times when I asked for my order to be cancelled on Uber Eats to avoid being charged for food I have never received. A same as me and my husband used to go here regularly - will never go/order again!!!!!!!

The food was very tasty and we will surely order here again. Being a Saturday evening, delivery took slightly longer than expected, and the restaurant rang us to apologise, which we appreciated.

Food took 2 hours to come then the delivery driver wanted me to come downstairs and walk up the road to get the food the they updated saying I had my food when I didn’t

all of the naan breads were burnt and taste terrible curry's were ok but our family meal was ruined by this won't be using this restaurant tatakeaway again very disappointed

Delivery was very late, I had to call the restaurant as it came up delivered! Even tho we have had never had this issue I had to instruct the delivery guy for like 6 mins on how to get to my house even tho it’s not difficult at all. The food was cold so had to heat it through and the curry’s we had had a layer of pure grease/oil which I had to soak up with a tissue.

Bland! Both curries lacking flavour and spice. The Bombay potatoes also had zero flavour and may have well been just boiled potatoes. The 'special' Jallashar curry also no spice or real flavour. It's quite something when the best part of your meal is nan bread! I requested partial refund due to food being delivered almost an hour late but was denied due to "restaurant being very busy". This is unacceptable bearing in mind I placed the order 2 hours earlier leaving so much time for preparation.

Food was really good, can't be faulted

Food arrived very quick but we are close by. Masala chips tasted like peri-peri seasoning. Lamb dish had a big layer of oil on top. Fried fish were soggy and greasy. Mint sauce tasted of nothing! To top it off, miserable delivery driver. Won't be ordering again.

Food is outstanding, we have spent a lot of time going to many Indian restaurants in and around Kent and at last have found our forever Indian restaurant. The Chef (Shuel spelling may be incorrect), serves up my dish using tender lamb to my taste with perfection and my husband is equally pleased as the flavours of the foods melt in your mouth, all the staff (especially Naz) are attentive and meet our every culinary need.

Once again a fantastic welcome and meal, terrific curry and service. It is always a warm welcome and great food. Friendly people and great service. Keep up the good work. Well done.

Quiet Monday evening, We we’re given attentive helpful precise & friendly service Food & portion sizes very good

1st trying here we was a table of 5. We all had different dishes and was all amazing. I had the Crab Tikka and I can honestly say it was the best curry I’ve never had. I’ve never seen it on a menu before I will definitely be coming here again.

Exceedingly delicious curry and a very warm ambience in the restaurant. Tarana is the best Indian around!

I never ate at this place until 2 days ago when one of my mates bought me to eat saying its good. It wasn't a mistake, the food there was god portion sizes and very high quality. Overall, service was very fast and very good. All waiters made sure we were comfortable and offered us drinks. Definitely will visit again with family. Well done everybody!

Another stunning meal! We are 4 guys in ‘the curry club’ so know a thing or two about Indian restaurants, this without doubt is the best around. We are regular customers as it’s so good every time.

We went into the restaurant about 19:00 shown to a table very quickly then the waiter practically throw cutlery and on the table and just kinda pushed it at us with out saying much, along with the menus, the final straw was when the just kinda slapped the napkins on the table at this point we walked out and went to the restaurant over the road and had an amazing service and meal

Had a bad experience ordering through their website with the delivery taking ages and the food sub-standard, however after several emails and a couple of weeks they have refunded the cost of the meal.

Got home and was missing 4 items, there was only 4 of us so wasn’t a huge order to begin with and when we collected the place was empty so they wasn’t busy. Phoned and said items were missing so they said they would deliver asap. Then phoned 20 minutes later to say they can’t deliver as they now have other deliveries to do. I sent an email complaint asking for my money back for the missing items. Raj phoned me 2 weeks later and said he will issue a refund or offer a future discount. I text back the following day and asked for refund and sent my bank details. Raj never responded, I followed up 4 weeks later and still no reply. Awful service.

I would highly recommend the Tarana, my 16 year old son ate here last night with a group of his good friends and they were made to feel SO welcome - I even had a text from the restaurant after they had left, to tell me what a lovely group of boys they were. I think you have definitely won the next generations repeat business… and ours!! Thank you. x

Bits missing from starter. Not the best.

Chicken was cold & naan bread missing from ordered. Inedible all round. Just look at their food hygiene rating, says it all. I wouldn’t use these again

The food did taste nice but it was stone cold so it ruined it, it was delivered within the time estimated but must have been sitting somewhere ready for sometime …

On entering my friend said we had a table booked for four, The boss man caused such a fuss saying she had booked for 5. How ever we were seated. Packed in like sardines, hence if there had been a emergency everyone would not of got out. We ordered our food by a very sad man infact noone smiled in there apart from the lady behind the bar. It seemed the boss man was miserable and showed through the unhappy staff. It was so busy.... We ordered our food when it came we asked if it was garlic rice, no garlic was found but I will add the food was amazing. Please try smiling 😃 even if your boss ain't happy!!!!!

Yet again making a reservation at the Tarana is a complete waste of time! They take your booking but they don't actually reserve a table for you. I booked a table for 6 and we arrived on time to a packed restaurant and no spare tables! As usual it's 'We will have a table for you in 10 minutes'.... Yeah Right... Then right behind us was another group of 6 who also had a Reservation.... Did what we have had to do before go across the road where we got a table almost straight away and a nice meal. Lesson learnt...

We went to this restaurant as the one opposite ended alcoholic service after 10.30 but tbh this restaurant rushed you so much you would never get to this time

Been here a few times, food was nice, but ordered delivery this time. The chilli paneer dish had 4 small pieces as the portion, and a few dishes had hairs in them. We called to let them know they forgot to give us the samosas we ordered, and said they would send someone round to refund the money as cash even though we'd paid by card... never showed up. When we asked for the refund they asked us if we were going to order from them again, and when we said no, the lady on the phone actually laughed. This place was good about a year or so ago, but has become very disappointing recently. Wouldn't recommend.

Friendly staff, however the food was terrible, tasted old. You know when you bite into a potato whether it’s fresh or not! Not clean in there, food all on the floor. They also did not give us our onion bhaji that we ordered but still charged us! That was one waste of £80 😡 Save your money people. The nicest thing was the hot lemon towel at the end that I paid £80 for!

I ordered at 6pm only to recieve a text at 7.30 to say restaurant cancelled order, I called directly and was told I cancelled which I disagreed with - they said they would deliver but I had to reorder again I was told it would be another 35 mins - all in all we waited 3hours and just before deliver restaurant called to tell me food may be cold so I would need to heat !! I am so disappointed as we use this place regularly but this has been utterly disappointing

I know there are several good reviews on here but my experience wasn't great at all. Ask for something not to be put on my food and even see the waiter write it down, only for my food to come out and be cover in it! Everything I ordered from starter to main was just a watery taste. Bad experience and not cheap either for bland food.

After going to a show in London we decided to have a meal out on the way home, My daughter had suggested a few days previously about visiting the Tarana Indian restaurant so we gave it a try, well what a good decision it turned...

First time at this restaurant, and while the staff were attentive, the price of the food was more than other Indian restaurants we have been to and we were therefore expecting something special. Sadly this was not the case, I will say my starter of chili chicken was very tasty but small in size. The real let down for me was the Chicken Madras main curry which was very bland in taste. It had some heat and the chicken was succulent but lacked flavour. My son said the same for his Rogan Josh. Generally it was all a bit underwhelming. There are better Indian restaurants in an around the area so I doubt I will return to this one.

Have never given a rating but have visiting this restaurant for 10 years on and off. The food is just exceptional. Service is good. They are always happy to help if you want to change anything to what you need. Happy with the price and value I would highly recommend this restaurant. There is a few silly negative feedbacks but really isn't like that. Lovely evening out.

Takeaway was ok overall but the chicken was so dry it’s not something I’d order again. Other food was good. Ordered via Uber Eats and was quoted 75 mins. It turned up in 20.

Every other place you order a dansak you get rice not this place. Very expensive and won't be bothering with this place again. Very disappointed

The food was delicious so I'll keep a star for that but the experience as a whole was not good. Booked a table in advance but when we arrived staff claimed there was no reservation and were short tempered about it, even though the restaurant was totally empty and it was just two of us. Girl behind the counter could be heard loudly complaining about hating working here. Then during the meal another customer behaved very inappropriately towards me which fair enough the staff can't control, but it was not handled very well at all. It seemed they were laughing about it amongst themselves, gossiping and speculating about my fiancé and I. It felt like schoolyard bullying and made both of us really uncomfortable and we left feeling pretty frustrated and embarassed. Not a great birthday meal, will definitely avoid in future and go somewhere more professional and welcoming.

Just had the worse experience tonight, as soon as we arrived (9 of us) we had a very rude member of staff who seemed to be annoyed with any request for ordering drinks or food……we had been before so took it maybe he hadn’t had...

Unfortunately our group of 9 have literally just had one of the worst experiences ever at this restaurant. We have visited it a few times previously and had good meals and service. But this evening we had abrupt service, long waits and hair in our food. Which when we brought this to the waiters attention he was very rude and dismissive. We then found hair in a second dish that had the same reaction from the waiter. We immediately decided at this point in the main course to not proceed and spoke to 2 of the waiters about ending the meal. They offered to discount a single rice for the troubles. I offered to pay for the starters and half the main meals although all the main meals and side were untouched which amazingly they moaned about as well. We certainly won’t ever be returning to Tarana
