Delicious food and friendly service, with "old-fashioned" booths for the tables. Free (in the evening) parking close by.

Delicious food. So glad we decided to try the good here. I've only had takeaways, but I'm sure the restaurant side is equally as good.

We had a lovely family meal last night with my brother who is in UK for a visit, always very friendly staff and a really nice atmosphere, food is always fantastic too.

Second take away/ delivery and it was delicious again! Fast delivery, food is hot and tasty! Definitely will order again!

Beautiful curry . Amazing flavours and big portions

Guy on phone was very rude and didn’t think I could hear him being rude in his foreign language down the phone. Didn’t speak clearly and when asked to repeat was very rude. Then charged £5.50 for 5 Poppadoms after a vary expensive and average meal already charged.

Always a wonderful meal, be it sit in or takeaway. We sat down for a meal and were not disappointed! Great atmosphere and customer service. Thank you and happy new year 😁

This is not the best Indian restaurant I have been to and at the moment I don't think I will go back.

This has got to be the worst Indian we have ever been to, the food was disgusting, chicken wasn't cooked ,both my friend and I have had upset tummy from what little of the food we did eat,not one we will ever be revisiting, staff were quite unfriendly like it was a effort for them to serve

Since recently moving to Gillingham, we decided to try Gillingham Tandoori and we were not disappointed! The food was delicious, with very good portion sizes, also being brilliantly priced. The staff were very friendly and attentive also, making it a lovely dinner out. Highly recommend.

We had dinner here for the first time tonight and it was excellent. The owner was very pleasant and attentive..the food was good..particularly the Naan which was delicious. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

Very slow service and the very young English waitress was verbally abused more than once by the owner. Totally out of order and sadly seems he thinks its ok wirh this even after saying to his face how discussed we were .

The food here is excellent! We had tandoori chicken Marsala, lamb, tikka patia, coconut rice, and naan. There was so much food we had leftovers! If you want outstanding tandoori food, this is the place to get it .

The best naan breads I've ever had, delicious bhuna (thank you very much for the owner's recommendation) Madras spicy enough, although sometimes it's useful to drink cold buttermilk which neutralizes the burning of the throat 😁 Restaurant worth recommending, although I just order with delivery.

Food was good Drinks flat with no fizz Advertised with A/C Wasn’t on/broken Women on table next to us nearly fainted with the heat in there and was sick right in the doorway, luckily we had eaten before hand

It’s not really Indian. The food we ordered was served without salt. People are friendly but overall experience was average.

Had a very nice evening at the restaurant 31/03/23. The food was very nice and the service was great from the two waitresses who were welcoming and kept our drinks flowing. We will be returning in the near future.

We had just had a bad experience at The Viceroy so head here to get some food. Not a great move. Again the telephone for takeaways is in the dining area so it is very noisy. And you get a processional of people waiting around in the dining area for their food. Put up screens and take the phone out of the dining area. This is a really downer for the atmosphere. They had no draft lagers, so we had to take a bottle. The food was typical of this class of venue, the meat and the sauce meet for the first time on the bowl. This type of cooking should be promote in delivery, but it took 40 mins to deliver. This is not good cooking and I can do better at home in 5 minutes. OK the onion bhaji is good, nice and crisp, and the yogurt sauce with the poppadoms is great. The keema naan was wet in the middle, but taste was good.

A loooong wait for a few lumps of chicken in a sauce that was nothing special. Sorry guys but this was so totally not worth my while!!! An experience NOT to be repeated that’s for sure.

We chose a quiet night, so it wasn't very busy, but I can't fault the food or service.

Lamb tikka dhansak was well flavoured and surprisingly hot ( though not overly so). Spinach bhaji was fresh and not too wet, rice included in dhansak price (though not so for all curries). Large portions, food nice and hot and ready when promised.

Had a table booked for 4 last night 15/9 everything was good until the bill arrived, it seemed more than usual? When we asked for an itemised bill we were told they no longer provide this, and on further checking each item had an extra 10% charge, eventually we found a sign explaining "because of the war in Ukraine they have had to increase charges" this sign is above someone's table so it's not easy to read, clearly you are not informed, its not attached to the menu and it's not displayed in an appropriate place where you could see it, very dissapointed no one likes the hidden charges but no one likes being ripped off, you have lost at least one customer.

On holiday and found a menu in the cottage information folder. Lovely fresh food, great choice on the menu and wasn't waiting long between courses. Quiet and pleasant atmosphere. Good, friendly service. Couldnt fault the place would definitely recommend using.

One of the best Indian meals I have had the tandoori mix grill was amazing and the dishes of rice was full of taste highly recommend this place and the service was excellent

Visiting family and tried Gillingham Tandoori for the first time. Whilst the menu is typical of most Indian restaurants, the quality was up there. Lots of meat in the curries, lovely naan and perfectly cooked rice.

New to the area and this place came highly recommended and it doesn't disappoint

Well down here on holiday and coming from the Midlands probably the curry hub of the UK I can honestly say that was one of the best meals I've had so thank you Gillingham Tandoori spot on

An old fashioned "English" curry house. Really enjoyed it.

I love that pub, amazing garden, the staff is lovely and tvs everywhere for sports. Me and my husband love going there, he watch sports and I drink in the garden with newspapers and have snacks. Food has been improved a lot. I definitely recommend a visit. 😁

Four of us dined here last night and it was lovely. We are holidaying in the area so didn't know what to expect. The food was lovely, fresh and beautifully cooked. Very good value for money and the atmosphere was relaxed. Our waiter Muhammed, who's also the manager, was friendly and welcoming. Due to staff shortages, he was waiting on all the tables and although it wasn't full, it was busy and he did an excellent job. Would recommend

Recently visited as a group of 7 for work. Happy to seat us early at 5.30pm (weekday). Booked the day before. Very attentive staff. Made us feel very welcome. Nice food! Good selection of drinks. We will definitely be back again soon.

Absolutely terrible experience with these guys and nothing to help. Person taking order did not relay delivery instructions to the driver, ( only lit up house on the road) + no option to resolver the food. Delivery driver also lied about calling, sent Evidence to the Indian, and the chap decided he didn’t have the balls to ask the driver if he actually called me. Isolating so extremely difficult for me to do anything including collect the order, offered a refund but that’s not good enough when you’re left waiting over an hour for your food on false promises. Ruined everything for me unfortunately at this place, I was a good customer.

Excellent food and great service

Ordered a takeaway over the phone, we were told it would be ready in 40 minutes. My husband went inside to pay and was told it wasn’t ready yet. He waited outside as he had the dog with him and an employee came back out about 20 minutes later to say he hadn’t forgotten about him but it will be another 10 minutes, no apology. Another 20 minutes and we got the food, again, no apology. Really really poor service, if they had said on the phone that it was going to be that much later it would have been fine or even let my husband know when he first got there - the lack of apology was the most disappointing.

Booked form4 people for 7.15. Waiter/owner was on his own. Continuous telephone orders and tables were ignored. Food didn’t come until after 9pm No apology - no explanation for the wait - just “I told you it would be slow when you booked” Food however was very good once it came but sadly some of our party were past hungry. Such a shame

Booked for 7.15 for four people. We were seated and offered a drink. 9pm now and we are STILL sitting here waiting for our food. No apology from the staff, no second drink offer despite sitting with empty glasses, now been told another 20 minutes. Despite other tables complaining about the wait they continue to take continuous takeaway orders. STOP taking takeaway orders and concentrate on your tables !

On holiday read the reviews and ordered a delivery which arrived piping hot and very very delicious Will use them again next time we are here on holiday (unless hubby persuades me to move here)

Got a curry before the football, always go her when having a curry. Never disappointed by the food. Well established and still top notch. Makes me feel like having a curry just thinking about it. Mmmmmmm

Had a take away here last week. Madras and Dansak were ridiculously hot. Too much spice. I like spicy but this was probably the hottest curry I have had in years. I could not taste a thing after the first mouthful.

This was the First time we have had a takeaway from Gillingham Tandoori. Don’t usually rate or enjoy Indian cuisine but my husband enjoys it. I was pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff taking the order, quick delivery and great quality food. Food arrived just under 30 minutes, piping hot. Plus it was Fresh and tasty with generous size portions. Will definitely order again.

I am not very impressed the prices on the website must be old, I ordered a 3 person selection of dishes, on-line price £53.80 but my debit card was charged £66.25, if it was possible I would give them a minus star rating 😡

The best Indian around, regularly visited for their Monday evening banquet deal. Been using the take away service of late and always the same great tasting dishes piping hot and ready to collect when they say they will be!

Freshly cooked to order which caters for our dietary needs (Gluten free). Always had amazing food, great quality ingredients, value for money and outstanding customer service. Would highly recommend, we wouldn't get an Indian from anywhere else......5 stars

It was the best Indian we have tasted for years .The Butter chicken (yellow colour) was amazing so was the sag bahji they also gave us a free onion bahji as it was my Birthday We will be back soon next month !

We had a takeaway for six delivered (4 miles away) to the farm cottage where we were staying. It was delivered on time although the driver had trouble finding us as we were not near to the postcode, he rang us and we talked him in. Loads of different foods were ordered and they all came and were good in both quality and quantity. Can recommend this restaurant.

Amazing take-away on Saturday evening. Had some left over so called in again at lunch time today to top up with a very small order. Nothing is too much trouble, even for such as small amount. Friendly, helpful and fab food.They have also worked so hard to get it "Covid proof".Will return very soon , we are so blssed to have this restaurent in our town.

Ordered for the first time today. Was quick, hot and flavoursome. Just wish the portion size of the curry was bigger.

Always great food , excellent customer service, nice for cosy meal,or a group dinner. We never feel rushed,but equally it's a great place to nip in on the way home ,for a quick bite.

Great menu with ingredients labeled well

We were staying in Gillingham for the weekend, our B&B within walking distance of the Gillingham Tandoori. Storm Dennis put pay to our stroll so we drove there instead.It's nice enough inside and the staff came across as friendly enough. We ordered our starters and main inbetween the takeaway customers also braving the weather. Both our starters were bland so braced ourselves for the main although the takeaway side of the business was taking priority. In the end we had to ask where our main was and as luck woulld have it, it came out straight away. Both our main meals were amazing. My husbands Dansak was the best he'd ever had as was my Prawn Pathia. Our dining experience only marred by the lack of balance between sit in customers and takeaway ones.

Excellent food and value for money, especially on a Monday where they offer a 5 course banquet and a free bottle of wine when booking for 4 or more. It was great to see the restaurant full on a week night!

Not sure why someone made a negative comment about the menu being limited, it’s got a lot of choice, far more dishes than other Indian restaurants in the area. The staff were friendly and attentive, the service was at just the right speed. The food was great, even the chickenzala which I was warned was extremely hot, I can honestly say it was hotter than some phalls I’ve eaten. You can actually feel it as it moves through your body over the next 8-10 hours. Finally, the loo, probably the nicest loo in an Indian restaurant I’ve visited in a long time. Nice tiles.

Good food, good prices, and good service!

We got a takeaway from here. Staff were all very pleasant and friendly and service was good. The food itself was nice, only lightly spiced so fairly mild. I like a bit more flavour, not hot, but a bit more herbs than this. Ie the samosa was a little lacking. However if you only like mild things, this may be a good choice for you,

I think Gillingham Tandoori still has a way to go to make it to a Good rating, though it certainly seems quite popular. The decor is tired and the menu very short. I was one of only 3 tables when I arrived but service was slow (I suspect they simply wanted to make sure I needed a second, or even third drink).Pops and Chicken Tikka were OK. I know a lot depends on what you order which is of course personal choice but I have to say their garlic rice is terrible - huge lumps of raw garlic which just overpower everything else.Service deeply average (I'm not sure I can ever remember an Indian restaurant where this wasn't the case).I probably will go back again at some point when I want a simple curry but I don't think it will be soon (Aroma in Shaftesbury is a better bet).
