SPICE INDIA in North Dorset

Incredibly reasonably priced, quick delivery, always hot and fresh. Whenever we have guest visit and get a curry they are always blown away by quality and can’t believe the price! We’ve lived in 9 different city’s and towns and this is by far the best Indian takeaway.

Fed up with the poor quality and service of other Blandford curry houses I tried this place in desperation. Wish I had done so earlier. The food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

If your Indian and need a spicy and falvourfull biryani, then this is not your place, even after mentioning on the Phone to make the Biryani spicy, it just tasted like plain boiled rice with pieces of chicken in it.

Order by phone and pop in to collect. The foods lovely but there can be a wait because it's popular. Great paratha and tandoori mixed grill, lemon rice is a nice change from the norm.

Ordered for home delivery as have done previously. Food arrived as promised, but.... The Butter Chicken was completely tasteless and had the appearance of a very poor Chicken Bhuna. Bland in every way and won't be back.

Great food as always from our go to curry house in blandford, sensible price and good quality, open from 5 for phone orders and ready in about 45 minutes and always hot and freshly prepared. Open kitchen allows you to see everything being made and the naans are great.

Last night I have ordered takeaway for the first time,really impressed with the food,chiken jelfereji was amazing and chiken tikka was really fresh and mouth watering. But I don't recommend the vegetarian dishes as I have ordered saag panir but it was like a sweet dish,and there was no paneer in that only coconut ,cheese and saag.when I spoke to owner about this he was not at all interested to speak.

Dreadful experience. 2hr 30 wait, 3 phone calls and arrives cold. If you are that busy, be honest and tell your customers so that they can decide before they order and spend lots of money! Won't be back

Spice India Blandford is THE best and the only place to go in my opinion for Indian food takeaway. Any negative feed back left by past customers please ignore them, it is false feedback. Spice India in Blandford provide the freshest and most delicious food that is affordable and they do get extremely busy towards the weekend so give them time and patience when ordering. I am not a member of staff just a regular customer who will not go anywhere else for Indian takeaway...

The BEST Indian food in town! Amazing choice of curries, great prices, really good portion sizes. The staff are lovely, always so friendly and happy. I’ve been using Spice India for about 12 years now and never use anyone else. The chicken tikka curries are incredible, so tasty! Just love all the food here. 10/10

Terrible!! 2hrs 15mins and still waiting!!! Quoted an hour wait which happy enough with as a busy takeaway is a good takeaway but this is ridiculous. Chased up by phone to be told ‘they just sorting it now’!? Pathetic and won’t bother wasting my time again

Spice India is the best ! They don't use deadly red dye and their food is simple honest Bangladeshi cuisine.

Loved it. Fantastic curry. Really enjoyed my meal.

First time we've used these guys. I did mention that it still states that they don't accept card payments on their menus online, but they assured me they do. We waited the stated time for our order, the food was delicious! Excellent portions, the chicken was fantastic in both dishes, lots of extra sauce and salad included with the order which were all great too. We will definitely order from Spice India again and very reasonable price too. Thankyou!

What a Cracking meal we had tonight, Thank You Spice India. Very polite on the phone, delivery was punctual but best of all the Food was Top Notch. Beautiful flavours, generous size portions, it was really lovely. Highly recommended the Chicken Tikka Saag 👌

I love this family run place. Always had a good meal! Although on occasion the chicken has been a bit chewy. Be prepared to wait for about 45 mins for your meal - but it has always been super tasty.

It's New Years Eve I ordered nice and early (1730) as soon as it opened for a 1900 home delivery. It's now 2150 and still no sign!!! I managed to get through to them at 2000 and they said 30 minutes. If you can't cope with the orders STOP taking them. Please don't use this place unless your on a die

Missed this place greatly over lockdown- have been using other Indian outlets but nowhere near as good. Just ordered my first takeaway since re-opening. Absolutely EPIC! Best meal I have eaten all year. LOVE this place with all my heart. Had a few times. Ok until I food until it made me ill. Happened to drive by the shop some time after as I had never seen it. Looks run down and dirty. Confirmed to me never to eat here again.

I called to order a takeaway and wanted to clarify if a dish contained nuts. My daughter spoke to them to clarify ingredients and they just hung up on her. Doesn't say much about their approach to food safety.

My wife and I get a takeaway from here fairly often as the food is always freshly prepared, is very tasty, well presented and well priced. Delivery to home is offered but we normally take a stroll down to pick it up and you get a discount of you collect.

Wasn’t very sure about having food from here as the establishment didn’t look particularly appealing, however I was absolutely astonished at the amazing takeaway I had. The sagaloo had lovely fresh spinach in it and the garlic on the nan bread was also superbly fresh. Highly recommend for a very reasonable and delivers takeaway

Food has always been good we go there regularly and never had a problem. If you order for collection it can be slow but that is because they are busy.

We have been using this takeaway regularly for over 15 years and have never been disappointed with the quality and freshness of the food. We usually go in and order the meal as it gives us the excuse to visit one of the many local pubs whilst we wait. The staff are always very friendly and you can watch the food being cooked if you want.

Never again, severe diarrhoea and vomitting for both of us just a couple of hours after eating a meal that took 1.5hrs to arrive.

Have never been so ill as I have been tonight after eating a take away. Vomitting and diarrhoea was just awful. I think the local authorities for health and hygiene need to be notified about this.

Ignore the previous review as it has been left by someone who doesn’t actually live here and is probably visiting, along the many other tens of thousands of people to The Not so Great Dorset Steam Fair....it’s understandable that the food might be a bit late that weekend! The service is usually great and the food is amazing. Everyone says so....apart from him!

Ordered food at 6.50pm on Sunday evening, were told it would be 1hr & 15mins for delivery as they were busy, this we accepted. Phoned them again after 1hr and 40 minutes had elapsed, I got the impression they hadn't even begun to cook the order, was told it would be 25 minutes. Phoned again after a further 40 minutes elapsed to be told it was on it's way, 10 minutes away. 9.40pm there was a knock on the door. The food was turned away as I'd literally given up and had a plate of sandwiches in hand that had just been made.Is the food any good, we wouldn't know?! Shambolic waste of time

Raised by an Anglo-Indian Step-Father, I am notoriously hard to please. I’ve been to the Michelin-Starred Tamarind in London and complained! This is exceptional, and one of my top three curries of all time... including my Dad’s. It is perfectly cooked and has wonderful flavour and technique. Their curries are multi-layered, and slowly surprise the palette, and when I tried the meat from the tandoor, I could not believe how uniquely tasty and mouth-wateringly tender it was. It’s taken me 6 years to find a great curry in Dorset, but by crikey, I’ve struck gold!!!

Amazing food, got extra salad and onion salad with the poppadoms and mint sauce, which was lovely! Very friendly and quick delivery!!

We get a takeaway from Spice India every couple of weeks and every time the food has been fantastic.

Had a takeaway last night. It was a set meal and I have to say it was probably the best Indian takeaway I’ve ever had. Great flavour, great colour and textures Very impressed. Def be back.

Went to this so called Indian takeaway as I have just moved to the area and needed to eat , so divided to try this place after reading reviews (I suspect were written by them) had a madras which was water with chilli oil and some chicken, I hope, thrown in, I also had a keema naam that was the worst I have ever had, the bread was crap and the meet was a teaspoon full on the edge, and that looked like the dog had chucked it up. I won't tell you about the rest, won't be going back no matter how hungry I am.

Always been good. Good prices and they deliver. :-)

This is by far the best Indian in town, wouldn’t go anywhere else. Loads of choice, the delivery driver and shop staff are always really friendly, the food is always delicious and well portioned.

Una vez cada pocos meses mi pareja y visitar la India especias para recoger comida para llevar como siempre estamos ocupados en viernes, así que esperábamos una espera para nuestra comida. Media hora de ordenar parecía razonable. La comida siempre es buena y nuestra orden siempre es correcta. Servicio amable, incluso a su más concurridas. La zona de espera con el tanque podría hacer una buena limpieza, ya que las paredes están un poco grubbier en los últimos meses. Aparte de eso, no tengo ninguna queja.

The staff were so friendly, they were busy but still made time to help. the food was excellent and you can watch the chefs prepare the food through the viewing window. overall this was a great experience. I would recommend spice india.

Llamé a la tienda y me explicó la situación y se acordó que el plato correcto sería re-entregado sin cargo. El plato llegó y el conductor solicitado el pago. Expliqué el acuerdo y dijo que tenía que llamar al director. El director se acercó al teléfono y terminamos teniendo un final caliente como negó el acuerdo original. Él era bastante infantil, llamando así la conversación nombre y se terminó. Nos dieron el conductor la comida incorrecta atrás (pobre hombre estaba piggy en el medio) y juraron no hacer uso de ellos de nuevo.

Awful, at first they tried to charge us £15 over what the menu said. Then when food come it was delivered 45 minutes later than expected. It tasted disgusting and gave me and 2 other people diarrhea and vomiting

I have been coming here for 5 years now. The food is excellent....probably the best I've had. They will also make to order and add what you want etc. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Rating is more of a 3 1/2 but because Of the service I'll say 4. Food was okay, just a bit different to what I'm used to. I'd go back again to try something else.

The food is better the busier they are, for example a friday or saturday evening. On a tuesday we found the food to be not as good unfortunately compared to what we usually recieve.

Very cheap and always ready to collect 20 minutes after you place your order. I can't speak for their other dishes as I'm a spice wuss but Chicken Korma is my favorite meal and Spice India my favorite place to get it.

Spice India is a takeaway and I have been using it for years. It is well managed and the food consistently good. The kitchen is open so you can see the food being prepared. The staff are very friendly and orders taken efficiently and correctly. Fantastic food.

Spice India is our favourite take away. There's a great range of dishes to choose from, all very fresh tasting with distinct flavours. They create, by far, the best curries I've. We order from them regularly and they're always friendly and reliable. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
