The best restaurants serving Indian food in England

What a gem. Part of me wants to tell everybody about it, part of me wants to keep it secret so it doesn’t lose its magic! Excellent value for money (please adjust expectations accordingly, this is not fine dining, this is an all you can eat buffet for less than £10!), all the food that we tried was delicious (multiple salad options, multiple curry options, multiple dhal options, all vegetarian), the buffet was constantly refreshed so even if some items were finishing there was always more coming. The atmosphere is great - and the health posters on the walls add to the charisma of the place. Would recommend.

Four of us had a fabulous meal here and all commented that it was the best Indian food we've had in a very long time. The staff were attentive and extremely friendly. Highly recommended to all.

Great menu - lots of options and variety. We had the lamb karahi and chicken garlic butter curry’s with garlic nann and rice, long with some poppadoms. The food was lovely. Good portion sizes and the staff were really friendly. We will be back!

The food was great, but I ordered a glass of water, was brought a bottle and then charged £5 for it when I paid my tab. I don’t understand charging for flat water.

The best Indian food I have ever tasted. We have been to this restaurant a few times and it never seems to disappoint. You can tell that the ingredients are fresh and everything is spiced correctly too. The Goat on the bone is the best curry I have ever had and I can’t wait to go back. The service is excellent nothing to fault!

Excellent. I got the tasting menu and the food was amazing. It all came at the correct time and didn’t leave us waiting any longer than we wanted to. Wow.

We had meal lastnight I had chicken tikka shashlik was taste less and very dry my wife has jalfreze was red hot and very little sauce got garlic chips just tasted burned meal was awful definatly never again

Visited on a Monday evening around 7:30pm. It wasn’t too busy but it wasn’t quiet either. A nice and steady evening. The food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were just right. The waiters were very polite and service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere stole the show for me. A lot of restaurants you visit these days are drowning in loud music and loud patrons. However, at Blue Orchid they have really cracked it. The lighting, the volume of the music. Left feeling full but not stuffed and very relaxed. Just what you need.

The reason why i have 4 stars is because they always charge you 5£ extra in the bill mentioning it as service charge, i would have this this 5£ as tip for them instead of having to pay it as a part of bill😊, other than this everything was very good, especially the friendly staff and the indian atmosphere.....only thing I'll recommend is they should give enough quantity of food.....they should improve the quantity as the meals, the biriyani bowl was a bit small

Very poor bland food, served cold. Waiters had very little interaction with customers, never once did they ask if the food was ok. For an establishment that has a Trip Advisor Certificate on the wall, it was unacceptable and undermines the value of said certificate. There are plenty of alternatives. I should have known that it was poor given how easy it was to book a table at two hours notice.

Probably the best Indian restaurant I’ve been too, the food was beautiful and you got a big portion. The only downside was we were packed in like sardines so was hard to eat but the place was packed. Will definitely be returning but will ask for bigger table.!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

My father and I went here for a last minute Monday evening meal. The service was excellent from the initial phone call to book the table right throughout the meal. The food was also excellent- we had the Railway special and several side dishes and all were fantastic. All topped off by very friendly and engaging staff. Would definitely recommend!! 👍
