What a great pub/ restaurant, food was amazing, staff friendly and good atmosphere

11 of us ate here and the food was unbeatable .Great portion sizes, great service, fab atmosphere. Will definitely return.

This place is just awesome. Authentic Indian food with such good aroma & taste. Clay pot chicken curry is highly recommended - It is just delicious. Very good service by the staff as well.

Fair play to the Fox Tavern… 1st order had split in the bag and portion of Chicken Choila was very small, but phoned them to complain and they resent the whole order again, which was 1st class… thank you Fox Tavern 👍👍👍

Chicken tika masala tasted like canned tomato soup. Chips tasted like plasticine. Mixed grill average. Sauce tubes had one drip worth of sauce in them.

My boyfriend and I stumbled across The Fox Tavern by chance but we were so pleased! The food was so delicious (we ordered butter chicken, onion friend rice, chicken momo and peshwari naan) and we were so happy and content when we finished it all! Very very good food, at a very reasonable price.

Food nice but not as nice as some places we have tried

Recently under new ownership and remodelled as a bar and indian grill with a slight twist from the usual.. they serve Nepaese/ Himalayan food. :) If you like your Chinese and Indian food, why not try them? I'd never done Nepalese food before and found it a refreshing change from the usual offerings. They have some great fusion chinese/indian combination dishes and don't miss the opportunity to try a momo. ;) Bar is quite basic,, as to be expected for a local pub in whiteheath.. But the food is worthy,, not sure about delivery, but they do do takeaway also. Nice to see something a bit different from the norm around the area,, hopefully they make it a success. X

we always buy large mixed grill and get two lamb chops but only one today

One of the best curries I have ever had the pleasure to eat, fabulous staff, great atmosphere, lovely surroundings, what more can one ask for. If you want something different and absolutely delicious please take a trip to The Fox Tavern, I personally can't wait to visit again and I only went last night.

Ordered takeaway through online order. Very easy,extremely quick as you can pick hour time slot. Food was picked up and ready for the time slot. Food was great portion size a nd great taste. Would definitely reccomend. Looking forward to ordering more next time ad this was the first time we had tried this place. I think we will be replacing our old place we order from for this place it was that good!

Very good food, one of my friend recommends and we went all the way from Bilston but it was worthy. Quality one mix grill with decent price, very testy chicken momos (dim-sim) with test chutney, they have good children menu as well. Over all delicious food and atmosphere what ales you expect when you go out thanks chef Lila and team.

5 stars all round for this fab bar and grill. Food was fantastic, tasty, authentic and fresh. The staff are lovely, hospitable and friendly. Lovely girl on the till bar. Very reasonable prices too. Good food and happy people.. enjoyed it here very much.

Family catch up-managed to seat us all near each other. Variety of foods I had prawns we also had fish pakoras(nice size portion) and garlic fried rice.Others had lamb bhuna- chicken masala huge tikka wraps all really good.

We were sent the wrong naan - wouldn’t have been good if we had an allergy as it said cheese and garlic on the bag but it was defiantly a peshwari naan.

Always order from here and its always good but this time was shocking. I don’t know if they have a new chef but the chicken madras was really watery with tiny little bits of chicken it was not worth it. Its usually big chunks with a thicker sauce. Not impressed.

Had a takeaway from here through Uber eats and it was delicious! Came very hot, with all the food we ordered + poppadoms + dips. Had a large mixed grill and it was very delicious, naans were huge and a good portion of chips. Samosas were also very nice and fresh. Would have again!

It's just had a refurb and turned into a bar and grill. Ignore old reviews, as it did used to be a dive, but is a different place now. The food is extremely nice and good value. And they still have a bar section, with a pool table, so something for everyone. Will be going again.

Mixed grill was good but had better. Lamb jalfrezi was good as well but also had better. The food wasn’t hot enough when it arrived, in my opinion you shouldn’t offer a delivery option if you can’t deliver the food hot enough

Had a delivery tonight 10th Nov for 8.50.arrived at 8.30 normally the food is exceptionally good but unfortunately not tonight once I got the bag into the kitchen to take the food out the bottom of it was swimming in curry juice even the bag of chips was soaking and split all over the floor and the nan bread was stone cold felt as though the order had been rushed tonight and what should have been a normally nice meal was ruined so didn't injoy it

Fresh and tasty best I've had for a while

Very unhappy although food was ok, portions very small but tasty. I got charged for double for the same food. I accidentally put wrong address on order realised straight away tried to contact this business but couldn’t get through. So cancelled order and ordered exact same food within minutes. But just eat are not refunding me for honest mistake. They said they charge 100% as restaurant are preparing food but I ordered same things straight away so even if they are preparing it, its not gone wastwast

Nice and hot, very tasty will definitely order again

Food was good. The large grill came with plenty on it and they chucked in a few poppadoms which was a nice bonus.

Wanted a nice hot, tasty Jalfezi. No chillies, not tasty , not hot,. Probably the coolest curry in 20 yrs. Unfortunately, it's very bland. Sorry for a bad review but tasteless.

Stuck with this pub when it reopened and I’m glad I did. Manager and all his staff are excellent. Decent beer, decent prices and the food is the best in the area. Weekly visit for us, love the place.

Personally I wasn't overly keen on the food and found it quite rowdy in there. Others looked like they were enjoying it though

Ordered through JustEat, decided to go for the regular mix grill and masala chips. Food arrived on time and was still very hot. The mix grill was very good especially the shish kebab, and all the meat was juicy and not dry. The masala chips were full of flavour and a decent portion, but could have been cooked for a bit longer as they were a bit firm. This would not put me off ordering again though because of how good the mix grill was.

Brilliant pub and so welcoming, toilets are clean and staff are so polite. The food is amazing and since Bev and Phil have taken over they are spot on. Always go for the meat raffles & quiz nights. Love it there.

Been here a few times and the curry I’ve ordered has been consistently great especially the methi. The staff are attentive and make you welcome. Would avoid if any big football matches on though as can be a bit much!

I visited on a Sunday evening. I believe this place was recently refurbished but I couldn't tell as everything was rather muted and basic. I was one of just two parties eating inside the pub yet service and attention was rather slow. There were a few dirty tables and areas of the floor. I had a large mixed grill , garlic naan and poppadoms. All arrived sizzling to the table pretty quick. I would have preferred the chicken to be breast meat rather than all thigh, it was all rather dry too. The seasoning was rather too bland so I would not order this again .

Great service. Really friendly. Lovely decor pub. Food was a bit rubbish. Chips over done. Naan crumbled and breaking apart. Had a large mixed grill which was tasteless. Asked for sauce, asked for jalfrezi sauce but it deffo wasn't jalfrezi, was more of a sweet sauce. Wouldn't recommend or come back for food.

Always order from here but just lately noticed theres less and less meat in the biryani each time. Other than that the food is always amazing.

Large dining area with plenty of tables. Food ordered at the bar and prepared fresh to order. Food excellent & tasty, with generous portions at a very reasonable price. Ordered too much, but able to take leftovers home. Surprisingly very quiet for a Friday night. Would recommend and go again.

A good place to eat food good service friendly

Came here yesterday and I'm going back today. Best shikh kebabs I've had. Everything else nice. Only criticism is please just provide yoghurt in a bottle on the table and some spicy chutney.

A recently renovated Indian/Nepalese with a pub atmosphere. The food here is amazing and they do not skimp on quantity (you definitely get your money worth). Plenty of vegetarian options and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Hygiene is also not an issue. Will be returning as a regular customer.

Went there on Sunday to see what it was like after the refurb and ended up going back Monday as well. It certainly isn't anything like the old Fox, it's been totally refurbed, staff are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is separated from the bar area, so people just wanting a drink can go and sit in the bar listen to music and have a game of pool. The food quality is superb. The meat in the curries just melts in your mouth, it's so tender. Good price for the quality of food. I will be returning again. I highly recommend that you try this place.

I liked the friendliness of the staff with me and the children. It seemed like a good environment for kids. I ordered shrimp for me it was good but if I went there again I wouldn't order it for the price I don't think it's worth it (at least for me as I'm a seafood fan). I loved the gin.

Cheap and cheerful. Only do curries, no english options. Poor vegetarian options. It is a real shame that one of our party members does not like curries and vegetarian, and all she could get was a portion of chips and salad.

Great place. Recently refurbished and it's really nice inside. Thatchers was a great pint.... Or 2! The food was lush and spot on. The claypot was really tasty and the lamb fell apart it was so soft. The mixed grill was loads for 2. The sheek kebab was a bit spicy for my taste but I still ate it! Will come back on a nice cold when we need a good feed and a warm!
