Ye Olde Wine Shoppe Indian Restaurant in Sandwell

Order ahead as it takes them at least 30 - 40 minutes as they have a thriving take away business - the food is zero frills and 100% on the taste and far too cheap for what you get - if it's food alone that you are after, then go there - if it is atmosphere, service and no compromise quality then my favourite has to be Rajdoot in George St, Birmingham - the food there will knock your socks off and impeccable decor and atmosphere - but it comes at a price - but if quality equals price then not an issue - if you want a Patek Philippe then you have to pay the price

Great food. Have been here a few times, will be back. This has become the usual spot over the last few years. Amazing food very consistent quality, great lads, good service. Can’t rate this place highly enough, the food is far better than some of the more larger well known places. This place is a little gem

Friendly Desi Bar, pop in occasionally before Albion matches. Food good and well priced, but put radiators on it was freezing in there last night.

Food was shocking. Only had a portion of tikka and a naan. Super dry :(

Good for a few beers before Albion match. Far enough away to park and be able to get to the bar with only a few minute wait and then a nice walk up. Far enough away to not get stuck in traffic on the way out of the Albion too. Otherwise I don't go there. Plenty of other better pubs in West Brom

Went in before the Villa game, I had chicken and prawn balti ,keema nan and pilau rice. Absolutely fantastic, tasty and just the right portion. Carling was spot on as well. Definitely going in there pre match again .

Possibly the friendliest owner of any pub ive frequented, not the widest selection of beers but the food is good and very cheap.

I visit this place most Saturdays with all my mates and couple of times a month with family on sundays , it’s a real joy to eat at the same place you can a good drink. I can not praise this place enough , Mr Singh and his sons do make you you feel like million dollars worth.

Highly recommend This is most definitely my Regular place for food and drink . Once a week 8/10 friends get gather for real traditional Punjabi home cooked style food . There’s excellent choice of bears and reasonable selection of wines . The father and sons team really spoil you with service . Comfortable surroundings of the good Crowd to customers mainly regulars families and friends atmosphere.

My mum and I have been here about 8 times over the last w years, and today I'm going to leave my review. If you like authentic Indian cuisine , good prices, family atmosphere, then you will be getting a lovely, fresh, delicious cooked while you wait meal.. Delicious!!! Licences, so you can have a glass of wine or a pint of bitter! Ask Herdev Singh or his sons at the bar and they'll look after you beautifully! Try the sheekh kebab and the lamb balti! Another lovely evening good excellent real Dasi food with personal service . Hardave Sing the owner is gem of person can't do enough for customers his 2 sons on the bar are equally eager , perfect gentlemen always respectful and courteous. Week ends it's gets really busy . My visit here was great. Would recommend everyone to try it. Service was polite and food was just amazing, the curries are just the best around and I've been to a few pubs around the midlands. The pub/restaurant itself was nice and clean. Will post again on my next visit. And there will definitely be a next visit really soon.

Had heard great things about the pub and was definitely not disappointed when arrived! Surpassed expectations! A warm happy and friendly environment. Food was absolutely delightful as was the hospitality. Would definitely recommend for an all round fantastic experience !

Me and my friends go out each week to different pubs to try their mix grills. We have been everywhere as we have been doing this for months. I can honestly say this is the worst mixed grill I have ever had. Every time I think about the experience it makes my blood boil. The staff were pleasant however from the moment we walked in we were bamboozled as to why the pub was so empty for a Saturday night however, we ignored this and continue our experience. The cobra tasted like water I don't think the barrel has been changed since the pub has been open. we ordered garlic naan which was too doughy. Lamb bhuna was an absolute shocker, tasted like it was out the freezer and microwaved. The mix grill was not even charcoal, it was made in the oven and everything on the grill tasted the same! The onions on the grill tasted solely like oil. The Chutni tasted like it was for gohl gupeh. A part from the staff the only other thing that didn't go wrong was the ketchup.

This has by far been the worst food i have eaten at a desi pub. I will go as far as saying i feel disrespected by the quality of food served to me. The alarm bells were ringing when the pub was like a ghost town on a Saturday night! The beer was scraped from the bottom of the barrel, wasn't even drinkable, and i do not know how they are getting away with serving such drivel. We ordered a mixed grill, four naans , lamb bhuna ( which we requested extra hot) and masala chips. The food was an absolute disgrace. The mixed grill tasted of metal, the chips had no masala on, the lamb bhuna was sweet and was overpowered with cinnamon! ( don't put so much cinnamon in your masala, assuming you make it on sight which i highly doubt.) For potential customers, do not give it a second thought, prince of wales is opposite and sportsman and vine are down the road. This is by far the worst mixed grill i have tasted and others need to know the appalling standard of the food. The staff on the other hand were decent people however the food and the drink ruined the whole experience. I have to question how this business is still running, serving such a pathetic standard of food and drink and being empty on a Saturday night. Makes you wonder.

Mixed grill came like some Kitten bowl, tiny! Food was just as bad, no wonder it was empty. Years back around 2013 it was nice but I don't know what's happened.

Very nice curry's, delivery service is very quick and very tasty. I would recommend the chicken korma :)

I can't review this place higher enough . Father and son team run the place . It's been a real joy every time Iv been there . Real Punjabi food served family members. I real joy . Must try .

Visited the local pub the other day, found out that they served great food and when we finished our meal it sure was great food. I enjoyed the service and the friendly atmosphere very much. I am very much looking forward to going again next week!

Very impressed excellent food . Being from Indian back ground my self , I very rarely find a restaurant serving proper Indian food. The whole family was impressed . The landlord him self is the head Cheff , witch makes lot of difference . Will be back and definitely tell all my friends . Thank you Mr Singh for a top quality service .
