Best Indian in Birmingham! Amazing food everytime. Never disappoints! The lamb pathia is to die for!!

Been here a few times now and never had a bad experience! Food is delicious and prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be coming back!

Love this place, lovely restaurant, tablecloths, fresh flowers, delicious food served by great waiters, lots of vegetarian as well as meat and fish choices, full bar, great coffee, delivery available. Park in Bearwood bus station car park five minute walk. Been going here over thirty years never disappoints. Booking recommended particularly at weekends. Not wheelchair friendly.

This restaurant just gets better everytime I go. I had yet another amazing meal there tonight. Just superb! Been to a lot of fantastic restaurants but this was in my top 2 for Indian cuisine! Please try it. My garlic chilli chicken karahi was just delicious! And my husband’s lamb jalfrazi was soooooo good. 10 out of ten for good service and value for money

Beware of this restaurant guys . A overcharged from this restaurant . Asked for vegetarian Briyani which is On the menu £8.95 . I only asked instead of the briyani sauce plz make it tarka dall . They charged me £12 quid . Shame

Diner here last week was food was lovely authentic and flavoursome .staff were so friendly and welcoming . I will defo be retuning for the garlic chilly chicken curry .

There food in the restaurant is beautiful and full of flavour but the takeaways are way too oily.

We had been a couple of weeks previously and on the back of that, we were impressed. We had to wait an hour and a half for our starter (one of which was wrong), and this was with two polite requests to follow up on the delay.We also had to follow up on drinks requests.By the time we received our mains, we were almost past hunger! The food was ok.

Excellent service. The favours of our dishes; lamb kharai, king prawn patia were perfectly balanced and cooked to perfection.

So tonight we booked this restaurant and enjoyed our experience tremendously . We have been here before to be fair but not for a while ,and it was always good .but having not been here for a while we were happy that the welcome was just as inviting . Nice to go back to an authentic restaurant rather than an Indian grill sports bar . The food was amazingly good . Tasty full of flavour served to the table by very polite talkative staff . The restaurant itself with its vaulted ceiling is very impressive . But the food and fair pricing speak for themselves .. great couple of hours in the charming company of this restaurant . Visiting Birmingham from the deep South of sussex. Wish we lived closer. The food was wonderful. Would recommend the barah masala and the tandoori salmon. James and the others made our night memorable and even gave us the secret recipe for one of the dips.

Orderd chili garlic lamb Received some chicken curry swimming in oil with chewy chicken and no flavour also grey rice ???? Nasty man sort it out

Had a take out tonight! Omg it was divine! Just absolutely yummy! I ordered garlic, chilli, chicken Kharai and a peshwari naan. My husband ordered lamb Kharai and a plain nann! Everything was so good and the nanns were so fresh and fluffy! Always great and tonight was no exception! 10/10 and a gold ⭐️

The food is amazing and the waiters are really nice. In particular the aubergine curry is delicious. The prices are okay. Only thing to note is that the poppadoms and sauces are truly expensive. 0.90 pound per poppadom and 2.40 pounds for the chutney/sauces it really seems to me a bit too much. But other than that, we love this places, it was a great discovery!

Been coming here for several years and can’t believe how it can keep improving! Six of us went on Saturday night and all our food was excellent. I asked for a garlic chilli chicken Kharai with a garlic naan and it was just out of this world. The staff were great and the food was superb. I can’t wait to go again

First visit last night - food was absolutely amazing. Great service and decor of restaurant was lovely. Portions are generous hence we had what we didn’t eat baggged up. The staff put complimentary beers in our take away bag. Really cannot recommend the restaurant enough and we will def be back!

I ordered a chicken karahi with potato and the chef very kindly agreed to make aloo paratha. I was so impressed with the food, lovely flavour and great service. Also mango lassi was spot on. Delicious and beautiful interior, highly recommended. Will be back again

Wow wow & wow. Having lived in Birmingham for over 20 years this is one one the best curry houses I have had the pleasure of attending. The welcome was warm, friendly and a real pleasure in talking to James who clearly well versed. The decor was inviting and more importantly the cleanliness top class. Then came the food, beautiful presented, fresh and so tasty, top quality. We’ll done guys, keep up the great work and we will see you again soon. 👏👏👏

First visit to this restaurant and James Mirza was attentive throughout. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with good food and good wine. You may pay a little extra but you are paying for quality.

Great place, it's been 10 yrs since we were in the area , and visiting for a wedding so just had to come back. Food ,service just the best ever. Methi was fab.

Popped in a few weeks ago for the first time. Really friendly staff, lovely tasteful decor + delicious food! Also had a beautiful glass of red wine. We are just up the road, so look forward to this being our new local!

Went out with friends as had heard great things about this restaurant. Amazing service, food was good and a nice and relaxing environment. Only a small selection of vegetarian dishes but overall a great place to eat.

If i could click 0 stars i would. One of the worst curry houses I've ever been to in my life. We arrived as a table of 20 which they knew about for 3 weeks. The food including the starters took over 2 hours to arrive with no apologies or anything just “its coming”. Then when the food did arrive i thought my boxer dog had been in the kitchen cooking. The worst curry ive ever eaten is an understatement. Please avoid!!!

The food is not fresh, it is just re-heated and also check your receipt, they charge you for service, poppadum and also the sauce in small tray. It is not worth the money.

Authentic, well flavoured food, served by attentive staff. If you want great food & ambience, pay them a visit, but make sure to book!

The most terrible experience ever! I order food from them worth £63, the delivery was so late that when we received the order the food was cold stone! I immediately called the restaurant about this they said we could refund you the money and you can keep the food, and they asked me to call the restaurant the next day as it was late that night, so I did the manager told me to call back next week so he could get hold of JustEats in regards to my refund. I called the restaurant the whole month of March!! But still nothing! It’s been more than 4 months still didn’t receive anything from them!!!! This is ridiculous!

Food was truly amazing!!! Best indian style mix grill I've had. Chicken jalfrezi and lamb karahi were both delicious. Meat & chicken was really tender and not dry like most places. Tasted freshness with everything I ordered and it was all flavoursome. Great experience, no faults or complaints.

The ‘old’ Haweli was superb. Relaxed and homely. The new one …. Hmmmm the food isn’t as good certainly, it’s like any other Indian restaurant now. Sad to say that the new owner has tried to make this lovely place more up-market. The clientele has changed too. It’s not a fun place anymore, this is a serious business serving curry, just like many far better Indian restaurants in Birmingham. Change isn’t always good

This small, compact, hidden gem is one of the best food tasting restaurants we've ever been to. Every thing since we set foot in the place was amazing. Great customer service, the employees there knew what they were doing. Starters to main, everything perfect. I'm a foodie and tried butter chicken all over the globe, but their speciality butter chicken is I would say in the top 3 of my list. Amazing food at reasonable prices. Could do a little bit faster with the food, but still no complaints, the food is worth the wait. Amazing experience. Will definitely go back.

Been coming back to this place for a year now and the curry's have been fab.

Don't let the fact it states closing at 10.30pm will mean you will get the proper service. Even if you get there for 10.20, I was rushed as I was told the kitchen is about to close.....surely stating 10.15 closing time would be better. The food was ok but 1 of the curries was not cooked right was way too spicy, not great, but not bad.

Thu establishment must have changed hands. Very very poor quality food. Tough burner out starter......the mains were no better. Very pricy for what it is. Avoid at all costs.!!!

Ordered a delivery from here first time ever, due to my usual place not answering their phone. Was a bit surprised by the price; £2.40 more than I pay from the other place nearby; but after eating my curry & extras I have to say it was a pretty decent dish. Tasty, just hot enough to justify being a Madras, but not overly hot. Certainly tasted a lot better than it first looked. Will be ordering from them again in the not too distant future.

Can be amazing. Can be ordinary. Still a cut above most in Bearwood though TBH.

Friendly and accommodating staff. We were a large party who descended on the restaurant suddenly. Initially weren't able to get. Stable all together but the after ordering the food and drinks and getting the chance to freshen up we were able to get a table. Ordered lots of different curries which I was fine with but the taste was a lot like other places. Not bad tasting. Biryani I didn't try but mum said was too spicy. Lovely mixed grill even my 19 year old commented on! So that's saying something!! Space was a little tight so difficult for the little ones to remain socially distant. We may have annoyed other diners so I am uncomfortable with that. But our fault we should hav booked somewhere first. They serv alcohol too for those who drink and seemed quite busy.

I will give 5 star food is really good 👌

Great service ordered takeaway, food so fresh and hot still defo recomend this place this is 1 of my favorites. Never had takeaway this great. Thankyou guys im never disapointed. What an amazing experience. Heard about the place through some friends who recommended it, so decided to go check it out for myself. Very nice decor and clean premises, the owner (James) and his great team will instantly make you feel at home. The menu is easy to understand yet full of information. The food was prepared in due time and was finger licking. I'd definately comeback and recommend it to everyone.

0 stars if I could, food was cold and order was wrong, two hours delivery time after quoted an hour.

Picked based on Google maps review and it didn't disappoint! Owner was very helpful and friendly from the start, on the phone and in person, when I collected. A complimentary half pint is always a good idea and appreciated. 🤣 Aside from that, the food was excellent! I ordered Onion Bhaji, Poppadoms, Chicken Tikka Masala, Mushroom Rice and a Garlic Naan; everything tasted great and was piping hot. Would visit again and recommend! Keep up the good work guys! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

I will NOT order from here AGAIN! Once was enough and If I could give zero stars I would. Four dishes were ordered, two PRAWN dishes, emphasis on PRAWN! And what we received was chicken instead. Now one of those prawns dishes was supposed to be for a pescatarian so they ended up going without food. The second dish was a prawn biryani but as I stated above we received a chicken biryani instead. Third dish was tandoori butter chicken which was chewy, lacked flavour and oily. Fourth dish was a mixed grill which was rubbery in texture and bland. The rice was hard and the naan was soggy. All in all everything was inedible so was thrown away. Money wasted. Their standards need be raised.

Spacious, friendly staff, clean and nice indian / Asian food. Drinks are available too.

Ordered a takeaway from here for a change and it was awful way below the standard of the places I would normally go to for a curry. The butter chicken just tasted like it was a can of chopped tomatoes with a little bit of spice and was really disappointing, nothing like what you normally get in other places. Better off going elsewhere.

This place needs no explaination. It's well known for being the best Indian restaurant in Birmingham. It may not look all that in the area it's in but Always gorgeous food, great service and hospitality and just generally a nice place to be. Highly recommended to anyone if you've not been before! If I could give this place 6 stars I would it's the food is that good

Brilliant food and fantastic service with great advice about wine.

Food might be good. But, being an Indian myself, the look of the food from images uploaded and experience from similar restaurants with good rating and similar reviews from nonindians, it would rather be called Brindian restaurant or Indian style restaurant. Because actual East Indian cuisine are entirely different from these and they vary greatly from colour texture and aroma depending on state or region.

Cant fault it good food at a fair price

We had a lamb biryani and a chicken biryani yesterday and I have to say this was really really nice.I did a lot of research before settling on Haweli as I cook a mean biryani and the taste we get from like so called indian curry houses is just not the same as the ones you get in India. The biryani rice was not dry, had a lovely mix of sauteed onions in it along with spices (just right for the palate) and a generous helping of chicken and lamb. The lamb was not chewy as well which was a bonus. I am so glad we chose Haweli for our meal last night.

Called in early..6pm...as some of the family were driving down to London. Not been to the Haweli in a long time but wow...how it's changed. From the minute we stepped in the manager and staff were welcoming, sat down at a lovely table for 6....

Way to expensive for what you get

WOULDNT EVEN PUT ONE STAR IF I COULD WORST RESTAURANT EVER TO EAT FROM NEARLY ENDED UP IN HOSPITAL DUE TO THE NUTS THEY PUT IN THE CURRY EVEN TOLD THEM NOT TO. FOOD WAS ALL RAW AND NOT EVEN COOKED PROPERLY PAYED £100 FOR THE FOOD WHEN I COMPLAINED TO THE MANAGER JAMES HE TOLD ME HE WOULD REPLACE THE FOOD. SO WHEN I HAVE RANG UP FOR THE REPLACEMENT ORDER TANVEER IS TELLING ME HE HAS NO AUTHORITY TO REPLACE THE ORDER AND NOW PROTESTS THE ORIGINAL ORDER WASNT TO THE SAME VALUE . BEEN GOING HERE FOR NEARLY 20 YEARS UNDER THE PREVIOUS OWNERS EXCELLENT FOOD AND CUSTOMER SERVICE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM: NEW OWNERS ARE A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND HAVE NO IDEA OF CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY AGREE ONE THING AND THEN COMPLETELY DENY WHAT THEY SAY AND TELL US NOT TO RING THE RESTAURANT AGAIN ! £100 WORTH OF FOOD THAT WENT IN THE BIN AND NOW THEY CANNOT EVEN REPLACE THEIR OWN STUPID MISTAKE !!! DO NOT EAT FROM HERE YOU'LL COMPLETELY WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!

Good food great host highly recommended for a saterday curry

I recently had a butter chicken curry there. The curries that this place does was a delight for the senses and tasted very well. The service at this place was very good as well as quick. This place also has very clean toilet facilities as well. Recommend this to people who want a lovely curry

Beautiful restaurant with great friendly service and fantastic above and beyond service from Taheer and his staff. The food was some of the best I had eaten for a long time and Taheer's wine recommendation was superb. This is a wonderful family restaurant that everyone...

First time we've been since it was renovated. Much smarter now. Probably just me but in making it smarter it has somehow lost much of its charm, it's no longer our hidden gem. Still, no criticism of the food or service. Good luck to them...

Newly done-up, the service was excellent, food even better and prices reasonable. Vindaloo was hot enough but with great flavour and the bhajis, naan and rice were spot-on. Would recommend.

Thank you for the wonderful hospitality and excellent food. It’s difficult to get a great Indian restaurant meal despite the choice of restaurants in the area. Haweli is the exception- It’s was fresh and extremely tasty. We will be visiting again soon.
