Sometimes Indian food from a takeaway can taste a bit 'samey' regardless of what curry you order. Here, it was very refreshing! The chef specials are definitely creative - chops hand was standout and the Keema pop fun! Quick service too.

Did not regret trying Royal spice take away , probably one of the best Indian meals I have had , will be ordering again soon , and not expensive prices either ,

My husband and I came to Taas after reading all these amazing reviews and we were not disappointed! Atmosphere was great, service was fantastic and the food was next level. We were asked on a scale of 1-10 how hot we like our curries, I chose a 5 while my husband chose a 7 and they were both perfect. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Taas, thanks for a wonderful meal.

A Taste of Kerala at Coconut Lagoon - A Perfect Meal! I recently dined at Coconut Lagoon, and I must say it was an unforgettable South Indian culinary experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance made me feel like I was transported straight to Kerala, with cozy and charming decor that set the perfect mood. For the meal, we started with the Lagoon Special Dosa and Paneer Dosa—both were absolutely amazing! The Lagoon Special Dosa was perfectly crispy and filled with a variety of tasty ingredients, while the Paneer Dosa had a wonderful, savory filling that paired beautifully with the accompanying chutneys and sambar. Both dosas were cooked to perfection, with just the right balance of flavor and crunch. We finished off the meal with some Homemade guava & Coffee Ice Cream, which was rich, creamy, and had the perfect coffee flavor that wasn’t too overpowering. A truly satisfying way to end the meal! The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Overall, Coconut Lagoon provided an authentic South Indian dining experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone craving delicious Kerala-inspired dishes. I’ll definitely be returning to try more!

We had an excellent meal last night at Kalpakavadi; the chicken madras starter definitely made it into my "top 10 ever starters"; not just because of the exquisite spices...but the sheer poundage of poultry on the plate [if that is not an alliteration too far...]. The service was amazing- attentive but never intrusive...there was a very high staff to client ratio....and almost zero waiting times...well done Kalpakavadi!

Very nice evening . Very friendly staff and accommodated my wife’s meal which wasn’t on the menu . Very nice meal and very generous portion size . Would definitely recommend.

First visit food was excellent probably the the best curry I’ve had for ages, will definitely be back 👍

Too spicy Chicken biriani should not be a hot and spicy as this - couldn’t eat so went in the bin

Intentamos comer aquí después de leer comentarios positivos y estaba muy cerca de nuestro hotel. Cuando llegamos era tranquilo, con solo 2 mesas ocupadas. Tardamos 20 minutos en que nos pidieran una orden de bebidas, y entonces no tenían lo que había en el menú. La única dama que servía no hacía ningún esfuerzo a los clientes y se quedaba en la parte de atrás del mostrador cerca del chef toda la noche cuando no servía. Tardó 1 hora en llegar el motor de arranque, tiempo durante el cual 6 - 7 conductores de entrega entraron a recoger y fueron y enviados fuera, diciéndoles que sus pedidos no estaban listos. El chef fue bastante grosero y pude oírlo decir groserías desde la cocina. Literalmente, a un conductor se le dio una orden para que la recogiera, y al resto se le envió lejos... esto parecía muy extraño. Llegaron los entrantes y fueron muy sabrosos y sabrosos. 90 minutos después de entrar pedimos una segunda copa, pero ahora se habían quedado sin la alternativa al original que se habían quedado sin. Mala planificación de su lado. Una pareja se fue sin comprar después de sentarse 25 minutos sin tomar ninguna orden de bebidas, y estábamos a punto de salir cuando llegó nuestra red. Mi esposa es vegetariana y había pedido unas madras de verduras y nos pusimos a señalar a la camarera que era vegetariana. El chef le había hecho unas madras de pollo. No se ofrecieron disculpas, y ya habíamos tenido suficiente. Pagamos por nuestra 1 bebida y entrantes y nos fuimos. Planificación atroz, servicio al cliente terrible, stock de bebidas pobres, ¡Dios sabe si los clientes pobres alguna vez recibieron sus comidas para llevar! Es una pena porque la comida que habíamos probado muy bien. El chef claramente no puede hacer frente incluso a una noche moderadamente ocupada, y el personal de espera simplemente no le importa. A very warm welcome frome the manager and staff. Clean, warm, nice tables set with linen. Plates came hot and a hot plate for our food so I was very happy, nothing worse than cold plates. Food was excellent and a good price. They don't serve alcohol but you can take your own and the don't charge you. When we visit York again we will definitely eat here.

Our favourite Indian restaurant! Tasty food at modest prices and friendly, good-humoured staff. Highly recommended!

El Chole Dosa era perfecto. La dosa se cocinó fresca mientras esperaba, y se sirvió con garbanzos especiados, así como salsas de sambar y coco. El precio era de £ 6, que era muy razonable. Sirve en envase biodegradable.

A few nights in York and a curry was needed so We did some research on Indian restaurants in the town and this place had some of the better reviews. Monday evening and we easily got a table, however it started to fill up quickly and I’m not surprised why. The service from all waiting staff was excellent, they were polite and friendly. An offering of poppadoms was instantly accepted. Drinks were also served fast. We didn’t order a stater and I’m glad as the mains were big portions. The food was piping hot, fresh and very tasty. Would recommend and would return again
