I called in the George Hotel for a drink on my first visit to Easingwold, and i was glad i did. It is a lovely cosy traditional pub/hotel with lots of cosy rooms. There is an impressive range of beers, including six hand pulled cask conditioned real ales. The ones i tried were in excellent condition. To be honest, the George is better than any pub in the area for real ale lovers. A lot of people were dining, although i didn't have a meal. The menu looked very tempting, and the food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. The staff are very welcoming and efficient and the George is very dog friendly. When i return with family, we will definitely try the food.

We came here yesterday whilst on a short break to bedale. We only wanted a takeaway and we received a lovely welcome, they gave us some time to choose our food and when we said we were not sure if we should get 2 pickle trays we were assured 1 would be enough. We had a mixed kebab starter and a chicken rezzala. We took it back to our accommodation and this was the best Indian meal me and my husband have had in a long time. Well done guys.

A warm and friendly welcome, we enjoyed an excellent meal. We chose from the special menu, poppadoms & pickle, starter, main course and rice or naan. Well cooked, very tasty, generous portions and a very good price. We will return as overall a good experience.

I don’t like pulling places down normally as it’s bad for business, but this place was particularly bad . We ordered £84 + of food and it was garbage . 4 were chicken pathia and they were nothing like. Didn’t even look the right colour! No spice, no sweet and sour in fact bland. I didn’t touch mine as the look put me off, not one person ate all theres. Shame as they were pleasant enough, did they actually know what they were selling? Just don’t go my advice.

This is properly the worst Indian food ever. The poppadoms tasted of old oil, the starter chicken pakora the batter was soggy. The chicken chatt was taste less. The pancake was just raw dough. The 2 main course were tasteless, we ordered to different of different strength, sadly they tasted the same no heat no spice not thrilling at all. It left us still craving for that Indian kick, and sadly a waste of 48 quid. Come on guys if you carnt cook the food of your hearatidge don't cook, it's unfair to paying customers. .

From the outside, this looks like a pleasant pub but the inside is very disappointing. The place really needs a refurb because it is furnished with a mismatch of furniture, etc. Nobody expects much from a Wetherspoon's, but this place offers even less. Service itself was pleasant and efficient but the food itself was really badly done. A simple scampi and chips was rendered unpleasant because the cook seemed to have overheated stale oil, giving everything an unpleasant carbonised taste. The frozen scampi had been dumped into too-hot oil, meaning that the scampi were watery and mushy when bitten into. The waiting staff work very hard and it would have solved nothing to have moaned at the time.
