Attended the restaurant for our wedding anniversary, the decor is nice and the service is friendly. Popadoms for starter was nice, then we ordered starters & main courses. The portion sizes are small and the prices are quite high. My main course prawn curry only had 5 medium sized prawns in it with minimal amount of sauce. The dishes had nice flavours but expensive for the size of the portions. We paid £76 for two starters, two mains with one rice & one naan bread & two small drinks.

We visited The Green Apple Tree for the first time tonight and it was brilliant! A wonderfully different menu from your typical Indian restaurant. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The authentic Gujarati-style popadums as a starter were amazing. My husband had the house special lamb shank which was so tender and so tasty! I had the paneer which was very creamy and delicious. We shared some smoky tarka dhal - really good - some basmati rice and a generous sized naan. Portion sizes were spot on and the presentation of each dish was beautiful. We will definitely be back again!

Authentic Indian food! We came here for dinner and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and very well presented. Biriyani was the favorite part of the meal. The vibe was also great. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic Indian food in Northallerton.

After having a great meal in the restaurant last month, we decided to try the take away option - it did not disappoint! The flavours are amazing and I would highly recommend both eating in and taking out.

Wow, the food is incredible. I don't normally like Indian food, you normally get spice over flavour, this place is different, it's flavour over spice, each meal is different, it's not the same sauce with different spices, they are all individually cooked, the service is outstanding as well, so friendly but not hovering over you, I can't recommend the place highly enough. *****

Having read the reviews we thought we would try the Green Apple Tree for ourselves, we were not disappointed. Food was amazing, great starters and mains, everything was really tasty. Different menu than your average Indian restaurant but so worth a try. Lovely decor and although only a few staff present they were so hard working, attentive, knowledgeable and ready to have a chat when able. Nothing was too much bother for them. Well worth a visit and will return if back in the area again. Thank You

Excellent food, authentic South Indian cuisine. If you’re looking for a treat above and beyond your usual takeaway I’d highly recommend. Service was great and the restaurant is styled to a high standard. Overlooking the high street this is a true hidden gem.

As we were on holiday and both enjoy a good curry we decided to give The Green Apple a try. The experience was amazing. From the moment we entered the restaurant we felt the ambiance. It looked good, the food smelt amazing and we realised that we chose the right place. The menu is good, prices reasonable and the service was amazing. The staff were friendly and very professional. The food was delicious and absolutely tasty. A great restaurant and a definite visit! Thank you!

We as a family were slightly late for our booking, due to two of the members of the family having no sense of direction and getting lost! But on our arrival the staff couldn't have been more hospitable, understanding, and very children friendly. The food served was tasty, and well presented. Not a hugh menu, but that was a relief as each dish was done to perfection. I had a Biriyani, and I honestly can say it is the best I have had, I come from a town famous for its currys , but have always found the Biriyani to have a side order of curry sauce, which really isn't an authentic Biriyani at all, but at the Green apple this is truly not the case. Would highly recommend people to pay a visit.

Valentines night aka any excuse to eat out on a Wednesday night in February. Meant to go for a while, perfect reason. Food was lovely, a little on the pricey side but worth it. From when we stepped into the restaurant we were given 1st class service. Free glass of bubbles on arrival. Free cupcake after the meal. Everyone got the same treats. The meal itself was lovely. The main meals were well made and my husband said his lamb shank was one of the best he ever had, high praise. The staff were attentive, helpful but not overbearing. We didn't feel rushed, with plenty of time to eat, not just a number for profit. We would go again. It is great for a special treat, or just a lovely meal.

Stumbled across this place through this app and how glad we were we did! Booking a table was easy through the fork app. We were warmly greeted and the staff were very good. The food was out of this world. It was a typical Indian menu, not the Euro/Indian things everywhere else serves. Don’t expect a tikka masala here. We had a chicken starter which was full of flavour and two chicken mains whose name I can’t remember but they were packed with depth of taste. The cumin rice was a delight. Absolutely a must try place

As others have said, not your your usual indian menu. Instead a limited range but what we had was excellent. The food is delicately spiced, not explode your mouth type. The "mutton" was the most tender lamb. Staff very attentive and friendly. They don't serve an after meal coffee yet but plan to do so. The complimentary bite sized chocolate brownie was excellent as well and chocolate brownies are not usually my favourite. Definitely we shall be visiting again.

We had a voucher to spend so we thought we’d try somewhere new. We got a warm welcome and we’re delighted to see an interesting new menu. We all decided to try as many different dishes so we got a favour of the place. I judge Indian restaurants by the daal, done correctly it’s a thing of beauty and the offering at the Green Apple Tree was delicious. The lamb shank main course was equally delicious.

A very welcome recent addition to Northallerton. Fantastic mainly S Indian food from a select menu. This is NOT a traditional English “Indian” so don’t expect chicken masala or madras! Meat was tender and perfectly cooked. Everything high on flavour without being over hot. The restaurant was busy and I believe they had been let down by a waitress which made initial drinks order a little slow- but an apology was offered and they coped extremely well to accommodate our need to leave at a certain time. Highly recommend and will be back.

Wonderful, tasty and varied meals for 6 adults in a restaurant that has a unique vision of what it wants to provide its customers. A fine example of a restaurant intending to be a “premier destination for savouring the most delectable Indian cuisine in the heart of Northallerton. It definitely delivers a rich tapestry of Indian flavours to your dining experience.” A warm welcome on a windy wet and cold evening with excellent customer service, our experience could not have been better

Superb hospitality from the get go; good banter with good professionalism, immediately putting use both at ease. As a couple we shared the two starters. A good sized portion so not to destroy your appetite. The meat was succulent, enhanced with multiple flavours of favourite Indian spices . I had the Lamb Handi for my main. Wow. The meat was so tender, again supported with spices that left a tingling sensation , each course was plenty enough and more importantly, never threatening “to blow your head off”. In short we both thoroughly enjoyed our wedding anniversary meal here and will definitely be returning in the near future.

A great evening - we may have been the only diners at the early slot, but we received excellent, friendly service and outstanding quality Indian cuisine- with impressive portion sizes, too. The environment is clean and classy and our kids really enjoyed the wide range of the clearly presented menu. It was also extremely good value for money! We'll be going back.

Had the Wednesday night special (we were unaware it was on when we booked) so a good value meal. £10.95 for a starter a main course and rice (with popadoms to start) Lamb in the starter was very tough and chewy, chicken tandoori in the mains was not good and both mains tasted identical, despite being different rent meals. Rice very poor and flavourless. We may have picked bad meals as the food being delivered to other tables looked much nicer than ours. Surly staff offered us a tiny table in the flight path next to the kitchen, in a half empty restaurant, which we declined and didn’t seem happy that we asked for water. The bill was wrong and overcharged- charged for a kingfisher instead of a Diet Coke. And it’s cash only, this always makes me a little suspicious. The meal was ok but I wish we had gone elsewhere.
