I have been going to this place for years . I had a takeaway last night . I ordered at 7pm . It was clearly last nights warmed up left overs . I rang and they know me - as I say I have been going for years and complained ( I don’t like doing it ) they said sorry about the quality and will hope next time is better ! Next time is better - there won’t be a next time - to say it’s gone down hill in service and quality is an understatement! Shocking !

On a positive note the food was good any the price was really cheap 1 starter, 3 mains , 5 drinks £54. The place itself is very tired, chipped plates, plates that should be white have discoloured over time. We waited an hour for our mains ( the starter was to come out with the mains). 1 member of staff was quite abrupt, so I thought. Watching him work.. seems it was just his way. Personally I didn’t like it. Place was full and the phone didn’t stop ringing for takeaway.

Four of us had a great meal. On a Saturday night it’s normally best to book a table - they do get busy. This Saturday night was no exception - they were heaving. However, our meals were spot on delicious. We didn’t have to wait for our table or our meals. The guys working there really do put a shift in. They’re very friendly, efficient and attentive - but not so that they’re hovering over your table. For us Pickles is the best Indian in town. Delicious food, great friendly service, a lively atmosphere and reasonable prices.

Just had a Saturday treat night takeaway, arrived to a lovely clean tidy restaurant welcomed by really friendly staff, our meal was ready within 10 minutes of arriving having been given a time of collection, honestly can’t fault the service, got home and the meal was amazing, we honestly can’t fault a single thing, it was wrapped to keep it warm and there was plenty of food and value for money, 10 out of 10 I would definitely recommend this restaurant for either eat in or a cheeky take away, well done guys and thank you very much

Visited this place with a couple of friends this Saturday evening. There were items on the menu that we didn't recognise. The waiter was excellent at describing exactly what was in each dish, and advising dependant on your tastes. Firstly I decided to try the aubergine chaat. Amazing! 😋 One friend sampled the chicken special and was very happy with her choice, and the other friend went for traditional samosa. All enjoyed. For main I chose the king prawn alleppy, which was perfect for me. My friends chose to have chicken dishes and they said they were very different from each other and delicious. The atmosphere was very pleasant with ambient table lighting. Service was very good, and of course with a smile. We all want to return as soon as we can.

Frequent diner at Indian restaurants across Christchurch, Great parking area, reasonable sized dining capacity, very clean and looked flavourous. However, hindrance showed up after our sitting. The assistance declined since. Normally minutes after sitting, water was on the table (was a very hot evening) Only one another sitting with 2 people were dining when we sat down. There were two staff available for serving and another 2 were in the kitchen. We waited for a bit and when staff was unseen in the restaurant, one of us called over and requested for water. Water was served and the staff disappeared again. Later another person from the table walked to the bar, called out for service and ordered some drinks. Incorrect request was delivered. Kitchen close time was 9.45pm and we were not served than. However were served a few minutes later. The servings were smaller for the price than other Christchurch Indian restaurants. Lots of gravy or paste and little meat. The pieces of naan served didn't match our order, and only one serving dish of rice was on the table for six diners. The closing time being, 9.30pm we were still dining. Cups of tea were excessively sweet as sugar was added in the kitchen, instead of having a bowl of sugar on the table, so could be added by individuals to their taste. Staff face masks were removed before settling our accounts.
