Spice Empire in Shropshire

I have been going to this place for years . I had a takeaway last night . I ordered at 7pm . It was clearly last nights warmed up left overs . I rang and they know me - as I say I have been going for years and complained ( I don’t like doing it ) they said sorry about the quality and will hope next time is better ! Next time is better - there won’t be a next time - to say it’s gone down hill in service and quality is an understatement! Shocking !

We have used the Spice Empire for many years. We were ask to join friends who had pre booked a table for 5. When we arrived we were asked to sit in the bar (seats by the window). Then we saw more guests who arrived after us who were taken to their table before us. After we were taken to the table we ordered drinks for 5, but only 4 arrived. We told the waiter who went and got water. After another reminder he delivered the final drink. We ordered 5 meals, when delivered one was wrong (the correct meal was later brought out). 3 of our part shared tandoori mixed grill which was luke warm, my curry wasn't hot neither in Spice or in temperature. The waiter did offer to warm up the mixed grill. After we finish the mains we asked to see the desert menu, to be told they Don't do deserts or coffee any more. As I said at the start I have used the Spice Empire for many years and is usually excellent, but this was before par.

Please bring in some dress code🙏 last time we visited we had to sit in front of a chap in a pair of shorts and an awful low cut vest with hairy chest and armpits and the other people with him looked like they'd just left the gym. This was always a place to eat where customers and staff made an effort to dress nicely despite if it was hot or not - given there is aircon! Customers regularly now are let in dressed in scruffy sports wear and no attempt made to deter this. Please introduce a smart casual dress code. Food lovely snd we've eaten here regularly over last few years but i cant eat here again now until something changes.

Absolutely Bang on food and brilliant take away delivery!! Food exceptional and delivered hot. Can’t knock spice empire. Keep doing what you do. We love Shapla in Ludlow but they don’t deliver here, we are happy to say that spice empire equals them on quality and service. Thank you

Recommended by our Airbnb hosts, we were not disappointed. The staff were warm and welcoming. The restaurant looked good with a great ambience. The food was absolutely delicious and good portion sizing, best Indian meal we've had. The price was very reasonable. We shall definitely return.

I umm'd and arr'd over visiting due to sporadic reviews but we were not disappointed. We've lived in Shropshire since 2001 and struggled for a good sit down Indian since moving from the Midlands. The team were fantastically welcoming, the food was superb and the atmosphere was spot on. Price wise, couldn't fault it, £109 for 4 of us to include all drinks Complementary onion bhajis too. Well worth a visit. This will definitely be our go to from now on, it's only taken 23 years! 🫣

we were at an event locally , so we dived in here for a bite to eat, welcome was great, service was good, but the food was mediocre sadly, the Tandoori mixed grill was over cooked, dried out and really not very good at all

Ordered mango chicken starter, balti delight, pilau rice and lamb madras. Not sure how to describe the mango chicken starter other than it was sickening. The balti couldn't be further from a 'delight' and this and the madras were devoid of any flavour you would expect from these dishes. The spices appear to have been omitted from both and I've had spicier scrambled eggs. We were led by previous reviews and expected an authentic and flavourful meal but were severely disappointed as well as out of pocket. Awful.

Excellent service and food. Korma and pakora particularly delicious! Shebul gave great service. Felt looked after from start to finish. Totally recommend them.

Have eaten in the restaurant before and enjoyed it BUT had a takeaway and was very disappointed. Took 2 hours to deliver. Luke warm on arrival. Korma was extremely spicy for what was supposed to be a mild dish I was unable to eat it. The vegetable korma consisted of only onions and undercooked peas and three pieces of very hard mango. The Paratha bread wasvery thick and doughy. After enjoying the eat in experience was looking forward to this but very disappointed

Takeaway tonight not the best I ordered a tandoori mixed grill um not the best 1 overcooked chicken leg 4 bits of chicken 2 bit of lamb some onions and cold for £15 never again

Sadly, not many places were serving food on a Sunday night so ended up here. The service was ok. We ordered the mixed tandoori grill, it was bland. The lamb was tough. Also tried the masala fries, they were limp, covered in ketchup and again disappointing, you cannot call them fries or masala. The peshwari naan was the best part of our meal.

2.5 hours is way too long to wait for a takeaway. First time of ordering, but there was no indication given that it would take 2.5 hrs for it to be delivered. Food really not that good. From this experience, I would not recommend.

Good food but don’t order for delivery. We had to wait well over two hours for our food and online it said it would take 45 mins. When I called the restaurant they just kept saying it will be with you soon

First time ordering meal from this restaurant, we ordered online. Meals too much rice, main dish not very tasty. Bland unable to any spices.

Well we have ordered a take away from this restaurant many times through food hub and generally had good service and food . We ordered food in October and it took over two hours to arrive so we put a complaint in . We feel it was justified. We put another order in through food hub again in November . At first it was accepted and they took our money . 45 minutes later they cancelled our order stating we lived to far away ( strange as I said we have had food from here many times ) I phoned the restaurant to ask what’s going on and they just put the phone down . What great customer service they have . I’m sorry that you can’t accept a complaint when one is due. Good luck if you order from here as they obviously don’t care about their service.

This super place was recommended by a lady we bumped into in the street. We are just visitors to area so we took her up on her recommendation. We found a stunningly beautiful first class venue, had a high quality meal and were made very welcome by Shabul and Ali. We hope to call again before leaving the area.

We are staying in the area with our young flat-coated retriever , and loved the look of this restaurant . We asked if we could come for an early evening booking with our well behaved dog , and the staff agreed . The food was amazing and the service was brilliant . Highly recommend .

Absolutely brilliant. Service is second to none, the attention to detail is amazing. The restaurant and toilets are spotless. Even to the point where the paneer is made in house, the food is the best I've had.....and I've had plenty 😊 It's a 3rd generation family owned and run restaurant and it shows in the care taken. Ordered 4 meals, all very pleased and satisfied with taste and quantity. I usually choose chicken but this time I tried the Lamb butternut. The food is wonderful, lots of varied meals (not just Chicken Tikka Masala, although that is available) the staff are brilliant. Friendly, organised, different people appear to do one thing only therefore the service is second to none. All are very knowledgeable about the food, everything is cooked to order and is normally at a medium spice, but you can ask for less or more spice if you require. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxing and friendly. The night we went they two parties of 10 people, but it did not effect our service and we did not feel rushed or in the way, the restaurant is always busy and full so you must book.

A wonderful experience. The Spice Empire is a truly special place. The ambience is terrific, the staff couldn’t be more friendly or helpful and the food is delicious. Probably the best Indian restaurant we have ever been to. Would highly recommend.

The food is always absolutely perfect, they always have great recommendations if unsure what to have and it is to such a high standard! The staff are so lovely and helpful, they all deserve a medal for how hard they work! Would recommend to anyone and definitely would not go to another Indian ever again! Amazing!

Delivery meals at present. The food is always hot on arrival and very delicious. Wasim is very helpful and easy to deal with. Nothing is too much trouble and he will always advise and adapt the menu to suit your needs. We are very much looking forward to going back into the beautifully refurbished restaurant and seeing the whole team, when restrictions are lifted.

Came across the Spice Empire after searching food places nearby and I absolutely loved it! Placed the order with them and paid via a payment link which was soo easy (and quite cool tbh!) Highly recommend the White Tikka Chilli and the Roshni Tikka Massala (yes I had to search the menu to find out how to spell it lol) with Coconut rice and it was so so good! The decor inside is very nice too, pleasantly surprised, I just wish we were allowed to eat in because I would love a dine in experience with them! The guys are very friendly and welcoming and the recommendations was actually spot on which i was very happy with. Well done Spice Empire, I will definitely be going back!

Just had an Excellent takeaway. The food at the Spice Emipre is always outstanding and is delivered in a very safe way during these difficult times. I could not rate the spice empire and it’s staff high enough! The staff are extremely friendly, the whole process is fantastic! The food is delicious and you can tell that the ingredients are quality and fresh. The portions are generous too. Last night I forgot a main for my order, the restaurant brought it to my house free of charge! What more can I say? Fantastic food and service!

Today, after an unavoidable delay due to an accident on the way to work,I received a call from the guys at spice empire saying that my order, due to be delivered at 1.30 would be delayed grill around 2-ish. Fine, stuff happens that you are not in control of. I finally received my order at 3 pm. The dElivery guy could not have been more apologetic, and I completely understand that sometimes things happen outside of your control, but today's delivery of biryanis was not up to the usual standard, very bland. Will not affect my continued patronage of the spice empire, but will make me change my order

Ordered food on line with a delivery slot, very straightforward, food arrived on time and was really good and tasty, owner is very helpful and does a lot for the community, well done definitely recommend 👍

Ordered a couple of curries & side dishes for delivery to my parents house for a birthday celebration in Feb 2021. They have been to this restaurant lots in the past. We have been dining at Spice Empire for many years. We first went when we lived local & visited often. We later moved, a few years ago, a fee times, to places around Wolverhampton, but, when ever we get the chance, or a special occasion comes along, we go to Spice Empire, regardless of how long it takes us to get there. We always know we will get a warm welcome, good food & service. Whoever you are, you will always be made to feel like you have been there before & will always want to go again..

We have been very surprised how restaurant changed since we have been here last time. Everything looks beautiful, clean and very posh. Staff was very friendly and professional as always and food very tasty with plenty of options. Definitely not our last visit! Five stars!!!

Went to the grand opening following the full refurbishment of the main restaurant during lockdown. Well what can I say but WOW...... the place looks spectacular from the outside in. The whole team have their mojo back and are obviously very pleased with the changes. The menu has been amended and boy is it difficult to choose what to have. The meals are excellent, tried a couple of the new dishes and they are to die for.
