Smelt wonderful, but each dish tasted like it had a bowl of sugar in, including the the spinach paneer dish, and no 🌶 heat. The onion bhaji were nice, wish we had ordered more.

Best takeaway in Shrewsbury, maybe even Shropshire. The family looks forward to the next Ganges feast as it is our first choice for takeaways. The Biryani Persian was excellent and the Chicken Tikka Dansak is great, we order these every time. Good value for money.

Abismal service from start to finish. Food was 45 minutes late. Woman who is the manager was so rude on the phone. Protesting and protesting why she was late (could of contacted us in advance). Food arrived and we are underwhelmed.Disgusting service. Disgusting attitude. I will never use your service again and I will never recommend you.

Ordered at 6.10, delivery due at 7. Text at 7.03 saying it’s on the way. Rang and told them not to bother at 7.45. Driver rang and asked where we were 10 minutes after that. Chaos!

The owner gives away discount vouchers to attract customers but then argues and fights back for it when you try to use it. Food is nice here, but the management has wrong attitude.

Yet again a lovely meal from Ganges, always delivered on or before time, still lovely and hot. Good portion sizes and meat always nice and tender. Would not use anywhere else. Flown load their app and get a percentage off your meal. Can't go wrong. Well recommend.

I had pannir tikka starter and king prown jalfrige with garlic fried rice.my partner had chicken dupiaza with nan and onion bhage they are all was fab thank you ganges 😄

After the change of management the food here was not as good. BUT the old management has returned and the food is better than ever. The quality and value for money are excellent.I do not write many reviews but after our family meal on Saturday I felt I had to had to do one.We had a range of starters , sides and mains and all were made with good ingredients and cooked well.

We are regular customers of Ganges and rated it as the best curry in town. However, since it has changed hands the quality of the food is extremely poor in comparison. The food we ordered last night was terrible, luke warm, flavourless and swimming in oil, rendering most of it inedible. We also ordered a vegetable samosa starter and as a vegetarian I was appalled and disgusted to find on taking a bite they contained meat. We telephoned the restaurant immediately and they didn't seem that bothered, although they did offer to send out a replacement, which we declined. Additionally, you no longer receive a free curry when your order is over £30, but the website still advertises this. We will never use this restaurant again and would no longer recommend it.

The food was lovely.... however...I ordered a meat Madras and a chicken vindaloo..., and a chicken Madras and a meat vindaloo was delivered!!

Popodums were soft and chewy, I ordered a chicken tikka masala hot and it came normal, also very bitty and a weird texture. Also forgot my can of pop. Gone really downhill in my opinion. Won't be returning

Just tried again to have a curry delivered after having a delivery 1h late previously. Ordered at 7pm for delivery at 8pm. At 8:20 phoned to see why curry was late, was told it was just being picked up. I phoned again at 8:40 pm - was going to be with me at any minute. At 8:54 driver called to say he was outside the pub opposite, I said he was outside our house. I said he was 53 minutes late, he then complained about roads being shut due to flooding. He then got out to deliver and fell over, he then said I had to get my food out of the bag and complained he had broken his arm. He said that he was going to sue me and I would be hearing from him. I was a bit bemused. After eating my food, I then phoned the takeaway only to be shouted at down the phone that I wasn’t Christian as I hadn’t helped him up and I had waited 1h30 to find out if he was ok - only when I pointed out that it was only an hour since he had delivered. All captured on his dash cam - hope it captured that I was not rude but that he threatened to sue and we would be hearing from from him. Won’t be ordering again.

When the delivery driver arrived, he said that he double checked that all the items were in the bag because you had one missing last time didn’t you, to which I replied yes that’s right, but I bet you haven’t added the missing item though have you. He muttered something and said thanks mate. Food was not up to the same standard as last time, tarka dal had the taste and consistency of mushy peas.

We have been visiting this takeaway for many years. Great Indian food at good prices, I have left 3 five star reviews in recent years.One of the small perks was the voucher card, getting something like 12 or more stamps for a free curry.So with a full card we popped in only to be told our card was no longer valid as the takeaway was under new management. Very short sighted as we will now look elsewhere for our takeaways with plenty of choice in the town!

Just moved back into the delivery zone after 16 years and Ganges is still top quality... tasty tasty tasty...

Since changing hands, the standard of service here has dropped considerably. My order was 25 mins later than stated, and the main dish was considerably cooler than the rice. Starter was not much warmer. For what I ordered, the price was a bit much. I ordered a Lamb shishlak starter, which only contained 3 pieces of meat. My main, a veg curry, was mostly potatoes and onion. Add to that a veg pilau rice, and I was overwhelmed with potatoes. Oh, yeah, and some Bombay potatoes as the free dish. It will be a considerable amount of time before I order from here again. By then, I hope things will have improved.

They messed up the order, gave us some chicken and potato dish instead of a mixed tandoori starter, when I called they blamed it on me using Just Eat, if they had taken the order over the phone they would have got it right!

This is the best we’ve had for a while. We tried Ganges on a whim, and now we will be regular customers! As our order was over £30, we received a free main without even asking. Fabulous service and delicious food. Recommend!

Absolutely disgusting service... and what a bunch of liars !!! They stated they had delivered my food on the app which they hadn't!!! And when I phoned them they simply said it will be with you within a couple of minutes !!!!! And driver was extremely rude and chips were disgusting and soggy

I have ordered food from here about 4 maybe 5 times and In all honesty i would give the food a 3/10. The currys tasted ok but were very bland, the rice had a very unusual taste, the onion bajees were full of grease and tasted awful, the naan again had a very unusual taste. The Bombay potato was good I liked that and the popadoms were ok too. What I don't get is why on earth is your food hygiene rating only a 1? That's disgusting! I hope for other peoples sake that this rating improves.

after 30 mins beyond delivery time I phoned restaurant. they said it would be 20 mins. it turned out to be 35 mins, so in total 70 mins after delivery time. (Ordered 19:20 scheduled for 20:20 actually delivered 21:25). Delivery driver was v rude when I said that it was over an hour late. Shouted at me to tell the owner and that he was the only one left as 2 delivery drivers had left as well as the person on the desk.

We made our order at 6.45pm and received it at 10.15pm with absolutely no explanation. I phoned at 8.55pm for an update and was told that they didn’t know how long we’d be waiting. If I was kept updated then I’d have been understanding. Very disappointing.

The food was amazing as always. Unfortunately, as it’s New Years Eve I suppose, it arrived extremely late. The original delivery time was 7.50pm, but it arrived at 9.30pm. I do understand they were extremely busy, but an apology from the driver would have been nice. The service is usually far better, but I won’t let it put me off, I love the food!

Food was really good except I paid for 2 poppadums and received 100 bits of poppadum. I also paid for mint sauce to go with them however the pieces were so small I had to throw away the sauce. Waste of a few quid.

It wasn't ready when we arrived to collect, service was terrible, waited an extra 15 minutes. A UFO was found in the curry.. a lump of wood!!! We will use Ramna in future, better food & free delivery!!!

First order from here. It tastes you get a free side if you spend over £15 and to leave the request in notes which I did but we never got the side. Also I asked for 1 mango chutney and 1 Mint yoghurt but got 2 mint yoghurts. The other disappointing thing was the garlic naan bread was really dry and tasted old. The other food we had was all good

This place must be a victim of its on success because we rang early and waited the 40 minutes they advised. Unfortunately we had to wait a further 40 minutes once we arrived to collect the order. But after all this, it is all about the food. Everything we ordered was first class. You will not be disappointed ordering from here. Just be patient.

Food arrived really early and was very tasty. Only issue being I ordered (and paid for) a chicken tikka dhansak and just a plain chicken dhansak arrived.

We had Paneer tikka, onion bhaji and chicken stuffed pepper for starter. For main we had chicken jalfrezi, lamb tikka masala and garlic chilli chicken with pilau rice and some naan bread. Everything was fab and freshly cooked! Thank you Ganges, will come back soon and recommend to everyone!
