The best restaurants serving Indian food in West Berkshire South East

Got to the restaurant at 6:40 after working in Pangbourne. Was surprised at how busy it was for a Tuesday. Seemed to be lots of locals in eating and waiting for takeaways. Phone ringing off the hook. Managed to get the last table and glad we did. Really lovely family run restaurant, everyone waxing lyrical about the food and obviously many returning customers. Food was delicious, beers were cold, popadoms and chutneys fresh and very reasonably priced. Ali the owner was very friendly and welcoming and very proud of his restaurant, family etc and rightly so. Seems to be a bit of an institution in Pangbourne and I would happily make the 50 minute journey to go again.

Only been to the Spice Master on two times , both very impressed,staff friendly, decor was good , the food was really good at a fair price .definitely will visit more regularly now , well done all

Have visited this restaurant on a number of occasions now and food and service consistently excellent. Would really recommend for food that is a little different from mainstream Indian restaurants.

Been getting takeaways from Bengal Spice for years now and they never dissapoint. I tend to order a takeaway when freinds or family are visiting so get a variety of dishes, and we have never ordered one that we haven't loved.

If you are looking for an Indian takeaway, this is the place! The quality of the food is really good. The portions are decent, and tasty! As an added bonus, have a great choice of dishes with Amrita's warm hospitality. You should definitely try tandoori chicken, butter chicken and rajma chawal if you are unsure what to try. I have been visiting Taste of India for 2 years now.

The best!!! Still sat in the restaurant with our friends and writing this review together as we are so impressed!!! We’re regular curry goers, and my other half doesn’t say ‘great’ very often!! The best curry I’ve had in years and the others agree. Can’t recommend enough. When ordering you say the heat level that you want :). We’ll be back, maybe tomorrow if I get a say!!

it was great saturday busy night with awesome food .I had never try before such kind of food ☺️Specially the chef specialty dishes were delicious and tasty 😋.Me and friends enjoyed a lot ,one more thing Waiters were very nice .Sami and he’s colleague they are very friendly and atmosphere really nice 👌 I recommend people come for dinner to taj of india

Absolutely amazing food and great service

Second time we have ordered and had items missing and promised a better experience next time. Will update for our 3rd time lucky. This was after they gave our food to someone else and we had already waited 40mins longer than expected

Great food and menu inspired me to get out of my normal starter and either Madras or Dansak maon course rut and so I tried something different from their speciality menu tonight. It wasn't as hot as a my normal Madras but the intensity was more in the flavour than the heat. I'm not into Onion Bhajis myself, too many greasy ones in the past, but I had a taste of my Wife's and it was really really good. Portions sizes were perfect as was the service. A great choice of many cuisines in Newbury and glad to say Indigo Bay is one of the best when it comes to Indian style food with value. The Decor is simple and not over chintzy, some may find it too plain but who cares when the food and service are great. Enjoy!

The staff treated us like we were pests to them and needed to get in and out asap the room was disgusting we went in while the buffet was on and the buffet was through different doors into the pub! The food was cold and nearly always empty pots! Small room very short doors I am 5’7 and nearly hit my head! Would not recommend. We had to order separate food for me due to me being vegetarian as the options on the buffet consisted of “fried potato” so I had to pay for the buffet and a separate meal. The place was not well kept and dying flowers were on all the tables. Photos attached are of the female bathroom! Was an absolute state the toilet seat had dirt all over it… yet again would not recommend to anyone. It wasn’t cheap either!

We enjoyed our dinner at Spice Lounge. The food is delicious, highly recommended!

The food tasted like a microwave meal really not good. The delivery guy was polite at least.
