My friends and I recently visited Taste of Tandoori, and we had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is beautiful, and the ambiance made us feel instantly comfortable. The service was outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, helping us choose the perfect dishes to suit our tastes. The food itself was nothing short of amazing. Every dish was bursting with flavor, cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. The variety of options ensured that everyone in our group found something they loved. We enjoyed every moment of our time at Taste of Tandoori. I’m not usually a Karen but had to write this review (sorry). We visited here about 6 months ago and it was a traditional, superb service, small family run curry house where staff were friendly and the food was authentic however we have just visited the Sunday buffet and it seems like they have news owners and have had a refurb. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. The service was bad, the food was stone cold, there was food all over the floor and it seemed like they didn’t really care for their customers or the state of the place. I’m not one to complain but I was unhappy within 5 minutes of sitting down, we weren’t told about how the buffet worked or when we could go up, there was no spare plates, no rice, all the heaters had gone out and weren’t replaced so the food was cold, we weren’t told that the naans would be out shortly as these were cooked fresh and the food was very ‘meh’ apart from the lamb curry.. I must admit, after I complained they put new heaters on the food, did new rice and checked we were happy but there was still food on the floor which is surprising because they had sooo many staff in a small place where they kept walking past it without cleaning it up… A bit of a Shame!

The place has totally been transformed and looks and feels nicer. Frank the manager is brilliant and so are all the other staff- very friendly and attentive. Food is great- reading some other reviews about the food taking ages, Indian curries when properly cooked genuinely take a long time to cook! Will definitely be returning :)

So disappointed, On a buffet night for the trays to be devoid of meat and rice is unforgivable. And the restaurant was empty bar 2 when we arrived. Such a shame as it was a great restaurant a few years ago.

Got a delivery ordered for the family when it arrived nearly an hour and half later we were missing a dish added something we didn't order and tried to charge and extra 10 pounds to what we were quoted so they took it back and came back with the correct order and the right price unfortunately they missed of our nann breads the second time around the curry was cold the onion baji was burnt and the pompodom was soft would not recommend

Lovely buffet with great selection. Definitely value for money. Unusually poppadoms included in the price. Naans cooked fresh as well.

Lovely service but took a long time for food to come and the restaurant wasn’t that busy as it was a week day. We enjoyed the food hit it wasn’t my best ever Dansak which I tend to have wherever I go as I love the sweet and sour.

Poor quality food. Way too much salt for a chicken tikka dish. No taste. Bland chicken dyed pink.

Weird smell when entering and needs a good clean and refurb. Food was OK.

Amazing food and friendly staff.

My daughter and I came here on a Friday night and had the most delicious meal, with a gorgeous bottle of prosecco and exceptional service. We decided to come back tonight for a relaxed buffet. The service, ambience, cleanliness and food were exceptional once again. They are so welcoming and friendly. The decor and size gives it an elegant yet homely feel. The food is just delicious! We will definitely be back again soon.

Staff was rude there was this one youngish tall boy who was extremely rude. Will not be returning awful place

We decided to go for a nice meal as part of my birthday celebrations and it was a delight. The house biryani was excellent as was the Prawn Poori. This is an excellent restaurant out of the centre of Reading, a much better choice than many more popular restaurants in town

Been here several times and always had excellent service and food but this time we had to wait nearly an hour even though we’d booked a table so not great. Good good as usual. Don’t know why our table had been given to someone else

Took the family 5 off us on New Years Eve, our first time, it was packed, however staff were brilliant cheerful and helpful, food was delicious no waiting long for food drinks, considering it was New Years Eve and packed I was truly impressed and glad I picked this lovely restaurant, will be back and would recommend. . . .

Have been a regular for many years. Going back to Sun Koshi times. Food is always really good. Service let it down tonight. It was early and not many customers. Guy on duty seemed to be more focussed on the two female staff than customers. One large group asked for their bill then had to chase for the card machine. Two guys had finished their meal and then were asked if they wanted naan bread which of course was too late. We asked for naan bread because it was not offered. Perhaps it is not offered because they don’t appear to charge extra now when having the Sunday buffet. We were even ignored when saying goodbye when all 3 front of house staff were grouped around the bar. It’s a shame but we might try elsewhere next time.

Always a pleasure to dine at the Taste of Tandoori. Beautiful food & top class service run by friendly & attentive waiters. Highly recommend if you enjoy great food & great service.

Nice environment and very tasty food

Gave a delivery time so popped to the shop. They came 45 minutes early amd left it outside on the street. Korma was anaemic. Tasted like lamb flavoured semolina. Even had the texture of it. The other curry, though I selected mild it ended up telling them medium hot. Luckily it jad some heat as had no taste. Mushroom rice was tinned mushrooms added to pilau rice. Not real mushroom rice as you expect. Peshawari naan was nice though. Only thing that was

We had a family dinner at the Taste of Tandoori for the first time to celebrate my husband’s 50th Birthday. There were 8 of us and we all enjoyed our meal. Every dish was scrumptious and authentic, good portions too. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. It is an hour’s drive away from us but we will definitely go back soon. Highly recommend this restaurant.

For an authentic Indian curry this is the place to go. Each item on the menu has its special spices and you can taste the fresh ingredients in the meal. This place is off the track set back in Tilehurst. The Sunday Buffet is great value as they offer a vast menu with starters and mains. I would highly recommend this place for the quality of their food.

Probably the nicest prawn vindaloo I've ever tasted. Food is always good here. Our last meal was superb. Excellent food, eat in our takeaway.

Food is amazing but the restaurant is FREEZING COLD, I took my two children and my partner there and the temperature made the meal totally ruined. I had to put my coat on and the staff joked if I was cold and I said yes and so did my children have to put their coats on, the staff laughed and walked off. Food is amazing but I can't recommend eating in the restaurant.

Popadoms tasted like they came out of a packet. Dips not great. Beer slightly flat. Sag paneer lackluster, no colour on the paneer. Chicken dry fry came with a sauce and tasted like a Chinese dish. King prawn masala - prawns overcooked and chewy sauce nothing special. The restaurant looked tired, and the table cloth was stained. All this and quite expensive. Just go to spicemaster instead. Cant believe all the good reviews, which got me in the door.

Big shout out to the Taste of Tandoori. Made an online order and delivered very quickly (live local). Once unpacking / opening the food we realised some of the order was wrong / missing! Called the phone number and spoke to a helpful lady would told me she would sort it.....and she did! 10 mins later knock on the door and order corrected. Thank you ToT team for a very enjoyable meal!

Haven't visited since pre covid and it was one of the best Indian meals I have had. The Lamb Bhuna was yummy!!!

This is always our ‘go to’ takeaway. Food is always so fresh and full of flavour and always delivered hot. Cannot recommend it enough.

Taste of tandoori?? No no no.. more like taste of dessert.. the food we order was chicken tikka masala but there was no masala, no spices. It was so sweet that we couldn't eat it.

If you are looking for authentic, flavoursome, tasty Indian food. Taste of Tandoori is the place for you. Fab food, friendly service and nothing is too much trouble. We eat there once a week and have been going there for a while. The standard of food has stayed consistent.

Do not ever use Uber Eats to place an order with this restaurant especially using a promo code!!! Charged £38 for 2 chicken kormas and this includes the 50% discount code!! Restaurant were ok with it but Uber Eats deny any knowledge of this restaurant being involved with any promo deal....... most expensive chicken korma I've ever purchased in my life!! Will not be recommending this service unfortunantly for the restaurant as the food was good and their own delivery service was on time

Went here with my friend last week service was good.food not so good my friend ordered a chicken biriani and got lamb and chicken tikka massala was a bit bland.

Haven't been here for a while and only went because my usual restaurant was shut. Did not disappoint and the chap serving was very friendly too. Even though it's farther away, I'll be heading back as my new go to.

Always a great atmosphere and the food never disappoints

Am i the only one that doesn't agree with all the good reviews , stale poppadoms , reheated onion bhajis ,cold old rice , slimey Curry's the list goes on leadless to say everything went in the bin just glad it wasn't a special occasion and no one else got disappointed but us.

Food was really good. Place needs some modernising. Book ahead at busy times can do online text and mail confirms which says a lot as is very popular locally. Poppadoms shared, starter shared, Naan shared, 2 mains and a side with 2 beers 2 wines came to £64. Will return occasionally as serves well as a a local.

After ordering from here a few times. I can say this is Hands down some of the best crafted Indian food in Reading. Everything is flavorful, different and complex. And every meat dish weather its red meat or fish is tender to perfection. The price well reflects the quality of food, and everyone there is nice and timely x. This is a new delivery favourite

My family and I visited here last week. It was extremely busy, and the two chaps running the restaurant were running round serving everyone without fault. They were brilliant, actually border line exceptional. Despite how busy they were, nothing was too much trouble! As always, great experience, great food and great service.

By far the best Indian Restaurant in the Reading area

Very good Indian. Good quality meat especially the Chicken Sashlik. Really tasty veggie dishes.

We came here for my son's birthday and it was great. When we arrived our table was ready for us so we sat down to order. We ordered butter chicken for the kids and a mixed grill for starters as well as poppadoms. For mains we ordered paneer and lamb curry and the food was amazing, so full of flavour and so much in the portions too. We were so stuffed at the end we barely had space for the birthday cake. As for the staff there 100% excellent. They were so welcoming, we met the owner too who was also a lovely guy (Aman) Would I recommend? Defo yes Would I return? Yes we are planning on another visit soon.

Ordered a delivery yesterday (26.02.21) and have to say it was the best Indian we've had for ages. Prices were reasonable and the prtions were decent. The food arrived within 15 mins of estimated time of arrival and tasted amazing. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

Easy online ordering, easy collection from the shop and excellent food

Delivered on time as promised. Food was excellent. Slight error as one pilau rice was not delivered but a refund was made within minutes when we told them. Mistakes happen. Excellent service and food. Would have been a five otherwise. Would definitely use again

Consistently good and great value!

Very poor service today (26.09.2020) from Taste of Tandoori. Placed order of 2 special biryanis, nice and easy, before my daughter went to bed at 7:25pm via Uber Eats as they emailed me with a promotion, to receive an arrival time of 8:15-8:35pm. I called to get an update to be told they are very busy, apologized and food will arrive by 8:35pm. 8:45 and still nothing so gave it another 10 mins. They are 5 mins drive from me and if I had known I would of ordered for collection. I called again and I was put through to a manager, I think, who just kept apologising and said we are busy and it's coming! At this point we are starving and food finally arrives at 9:10pm and we were so disappointed! The biryanis were very bland, lacked any spice and needed more seasoning. The raita tasted like normal plain yogurt with nothing in it and the curry just didn't work for me. We got the special which was meant to have chicken, lamb and prawn and mine only had 2-3 pieces of small meat of each and I was still hungry after. It felt like the order was missed and was made in a rush as it was poor quality. A free bottle of coke didn't make up for the poor dinner this evening and I had to make something else to eat as we were still hungry due to the fact that we couldn't eat all of our meal, it was poor and very disappointing. Considering that it took over a hour and half and first time we ordered from Taste of Tandoori, it will be our last time too. Not for me and I won't be ordering again

Really welcoming atmosphere and I'd say the best curry we have had in the South of England. Too many are an oily stew but this was good. All the food was very good. The medium curry was more like a mild compared to back home in West Yorkshire but had plenty of flavour. Very good.

Excellent food, loads of flavour. Had mixed starter for 2 and a chicken bhuna for main. Service really good, very friendly and they serve cobra on tap 😀. Only negative was the desserts were frozen solid so not likey to have been freshly made.

After coming to reading, I have ordered from House of flavours, Veggie master, Yaadgaar, Momo House, Namaste Kitchen, Maharaja Sweets, Dilwar pindi and The six belles and by far this is the best restaurant. Food was delicious, gave me the full experience of India food. Not only 1 but all the items were 10/10. I would recommend this restaurant 100/100 times. Theo only restro which can give a fight to this is House of flavour, but their items are too costly. Order once and you wont regret. For sure. And don't try one chapati scheme.

We had a take away via the Just Eat app very quick delivery and the food was very good not swimming in oil like some would definitely use again

Always a lovely Indian restaurant and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I have visited a here a few times and this was the first time I saw the dessert menu and it was amazing! I went for the forero Roche ice cream, I highly recommend!

We thought we would try somewhere different tonight so we had a drive round and found Taste of Tandoori. Nice decor, good service and good food. Very well priced and even a drink on the house. Well worth a try if you are in the area. Would recommend.

Just had a takeaway, it was watery so I didn't bother finishing it. And the Bombay potatoes where undercooked, so they was hard. I won't order again...

I had a takeaway from here, i was hank marvin and my curry was not great at all. The tomato based sauce was dreadful, the sundries were soaked in grease. Pros: arrived on time and nice and hot. Three stars because it wasnt the worst I've ever had but certainly wasnt the best.

Just had a lovely meal. The food is every bit as good as the old Sun Koshi (maybe even better), the staff are friendly and the service is excellent. The food was light, well flavoured and not greasy (I find a lot of Indian restaurants way too greasy for my taste). We'll definitely be going back.

Had to wait a little while for the food but it was well worth it very tasty. Lots of flavour and plenty of food cooked freshly with top grade ingredients. If I had wanted food in a hurry I would have gone to Mcdonalds. Thanks Guys. Punar still doing a great job
