The best restaurants serving Indian food in Northumberland North East

Arguably the best Indian restaurant in the North East. The service is always fantastic and the food is excellent. On this occasion we had the Chicken Coconut Chilli Ceylon and Lamb Madras and both were superb. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Would Highly recommend, travelled all the way from Liverpool to see Nanna & went for a lovely meal at this restaurant. Staff are very friendly and food was spot on. Thankyou :) xx

Well presented staff and surroundings. Staff very friendly and professional but got the same drinks order wrong twice. Food very good but we had to re-use the side plates from started/popadoms for the main course. Food took a very long time to be served, restaurant was busy. Will return on a quieter night as worth a second visit.

First time we have ordered since the Taj has had new owners. Service was good, order was ready in time.Food was excellent, portions bigger than before and the meat was more succulent, peshwari nans were beautiful. Could have done with some yogurt sauce with the main meal (tandoori cocktail) as my husband stole some of mine but overall very happy with our takeaway thank you keep up the good work

First time for us to visit Char Mausum and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Service was excellent and the food was fantastic. Best chicken pathia I’ve had. Everything was fresh and full of mixed flavours. 10/10 all round and can’t fault anything 👍

Perfect tandoori takeaway. Authentic dopiaza, food delivered piping hot and really friendly driver/staff on the phone. Will be recommending to all, felt like restaurant quality food. Thanks!

First time in tonight for my birthday. Food was amazing staff were great cant wait to come back.

Worst chicken tikka masala ever! And I’ve had a few! Was very watery, very little flavour and the butter chicken was the same. Not much chicken in the dishes for the price either. Chips were nice and that’s it! Won’t be returning sadly.

Best Indian meal ever We both had starters and mains Unfortunately my starter was not very good They were so apologetic and removed it from the bill Excellent customer service The other 3 meals were the best we have had Will definitely go back and would recommend it A sign of how good it is , is that it was fully booked at 6.30pm

The food is wonderful and the service is exceptional ,special mention for Rashid,love the attention to detail with white linen tablecloths and elegant wine glasses.

Love driving over here from a curry. It's not our closest curry place, but it's worth a bit of a drive. Staff are so friendly and sweet. Coconut dishes are brill.

Visited as we’d received a recommendation and were going to theatre nearby. First impressions were excellent, stylishly kitted out and a warm welcome from the staff….then it got even better! Lovely menu (lots of slightly different options too) and when the food arrived it was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We really can’t fault anything….and we’re pretty picky! I had the honey chicken and it was so so tasty. The portions sizes are very generous too. The service was excellent and the prices very reasonable indeed. I really hope this restaurant thrives as they’ve thought of everything and deserves to do well. We’ll definitely come back when we’re next in the area. Thank you for a superb meal

very disappointing. ordered two curries which were really bland. nan bread was small and not the best . slightly soggy in texture, i am sure i could have made a tastier meal and not used a generic sauce .chef needs training, very very poor,
