The best restaurants serving Indian food in Newham London

I went today for lunch bite poori masala and filter coffee. Staff were very hospitable and kind enough for me to use plug point near to the table as well a bringing me cutlery to the table with privacy from others ( working lunch) The poori masala was fresh and puffed with lovely masala potato and veg korma and to end with a hot filter coffee. Food came after 45 minutes of ordering. The meats in the mixed grill were overcooked, tough and bland. It was meant to be boneless but we found bone in it. We also ordered chapli kebabs which was the only enjoyable item. Naan was ordered to have with a 500g chicken karahi and a 500g lamb karahi. I've had a lot of karahis in my time but this is the only place that cooked it with the bone. The bone made up most of the weight and we were left with very little meat in the finished dishes. Naan was served 5 minutes before the curries arrived and they went hard by this point. Tearing the naans to eat with the karahis was a chore and unpleasant to eat. There was a lot of oil in the kebabs and curries, it was very greasy. This restaurant is not Afghani. It is a Pakistani restaurant serving Pakistani cuisine. The decor leads one to believe it is authentic however do not be fooled by the aesthetics. I would strongly advise not going Khyber Pass to eat. It is also cash only restaurant. Nearest cash point is just under a 5 minute walk. It is an inconvenience especially with more and more people using contactless.

Not efficient staff at all. Everytime doing mistakes. I hope the owners dont just think about grabbing money and hire proper staff

Ordered a tikka dupiaza and a murgh chicken, got a tikka chicken and a regular dupiaza (which is cheaper). Dupiaza was bad. Tikka chicken was ok, paratha was ok. Tried a new place but will go back to my old place. This wasn’t particularly cheap either.

As some of our friends suggested this place. We particularly visited to taste Mysore Bonda. Service is not up to the mark tables were dirty, menu card were dirty. Could see only one lady working as Chef and waitress. No proper attention was taken no one gave us menu or water. And the Mysore Bonda was okok not to the expected taste.

I ordered a takeaway from here today for my parents and me. I ordered directly from the restaurant; the guy on the phone didn’t even sound like he wanted my custom. The food seemed to take forever to arrive. Every time we order from this restaurant the delivery driver must do wheelies as the food is always spilt. When the food eventually arrived, it was lukewarm. The naans were tough, and the bhajis were hard. And to rub salt in the wound, it turns out it would have been cheaper to have ordered it through Just Eat; so much for ordering direct! I’ve given this place the benefit of the doubt too many times and won’t be ordering from here again.

Ordered the chicken tikka wrap and masala chips. Waited with a buzzer for my food. When I recieved my food, the wrap was cold along with the chicken tikka inside. The host blamed this on the fact that the salad is cold and that is why the whole wrap is cold uncluding the meat. If I wanted a cold wrap I would have gone to waitrose downstiars. The masala chips were overcooked, dry and had a bitter flavour to them. I had wanted to try this place for a while, but my first experience was a bad experience.

One of the worst customer services here. I went with my family here, we ate food, but after having milkshake my 7 year old daughter started feeling unwell and ran to the washroom. She threw everything out and was not feeling well. I covered her vomit with tissues so that people don’t slip and informed the staff. To my surprise the staff came to my table and asked me clean that and said it is not his duty to do that. I was busy watching my kid over as she wasn’t well and now there he is standing and asking me clean the thing. I can understand if it was done purposely or something but this was by a kid because of the food what she ate. Eventually I had to pay them £9.40 as a service charge to clean that bit. Utter rubbish behavior by the restaurant staff and truly unprofessional.

Chaiiwala is a perfect place to go for some quick and amazingly fresh food with many great options to choose from. Highly recommend it to anyone.

Wow So Dissatisfied with overall so called supplied....only saving grace was lamb chops otherwise would have been 0 yes 0 stars no stars , after great of shopping I was left hugely Disappointed , Behind the counter lady Manu , is like iron lady with zero customer skills , as for the food my dripping with oil tandoori roti ......1st & LAST TIME.

I had take-away tandoori chicken It was very good and reasonably priced. The green coriander sauce & instant chilli sauce were great. I would be happy to eat this every time I crave a tandoori meal.

Worst customer service. Better starve than eat from here

Desde fuera este lugar parece muy bien, pero en el interior, es realmente bastante decepcionante. Parece que todo es un poco básico y segunda mano. En nuestra visita, la tienda estaba completamente vacío y durante nuestra comida, ningún otro cliente. No estoy seguro de si eso es una señal! La comida era bastante básica y sólo había una persona trabajando allí.

loved the chicken chilli, highly recommend it. the biryani was a bit too spiced for my taste, i’d say its my personal opinion. overall i’m happy with my order, might order again.

Excellent service and Dominick was excellent! The food was lovely and the service brilliant. The choice was very good and the portions were just what you were going to order.
