Wow So Dissatisfied with overall so called supplied....only saving grace was lamb chops otherwise would have been 0 yes 0 stars no stars , after great of shopping I was left hugely Disappointed , Behind the counter lady Manu , is like iron lady with zero customer skills , as for the food my dripping with oil tandoori roti ......1st & LAST TIME.

Terrible service. Food arrived cold. When I called the restaurant they started swearing and being rude. Highly advise people to avoid. I understand mistakes with food but the staffs reaction means they shouldn't even be able to run a business

This place often has a line out the door as it’s been really popular since it opened. I enjoy the food and hospitality but on a busy day it’s great to order delivery which comes hot and fresh. This is a family owned and run restaurant with the owners being locals themselves. They seem to take great care of their staff who in turn seem proud and happy to provide excellent service to the customers. If you make time in your busy day for a stop here to enjoy a delicious meal you would be glad you did. This is a real gem in the heart of Upton Park.

Food quality is very poor. They accept food money in advance. So the customer eats like a helpless person without saying anything.

A hidden gem that provides sumptuous home-cooked style feasts: we had a delicious mixed grill and melt-in-the-mouth lamb bhuna. This place is massively underrated (and I’d prefer it stayed that way!). The lamb has to be one of the best (if not the best) in London. Service was friendly and excellent.

This was a family favourite but on a recent visit the restaurant stopped providing tap water citing “staff shortage” and are now selling 55p bottled water for 1.50 each.

Wonderful restaurant with great food and cheerful service. Came from south London to try and the trip was well worth it. Spotlessly clean, too. The naan breads are spectacular, freshly cooked and served piping hot.

Khana khazana Lovely meal , starter grill kebabs were amazing 😻. Chicken biryani was good but could have more flavours/ aroma. Lamb Badwani was good so that’s great and garlic Nan nice and soft with sauces . Chai ☕️ very nice so overall experience was great great with lovely waitress service and fresh and clean comfortable restaurant. The toilet are also A star ⭐️- clean and kept on constant rota . The restaurant it self is very busy, no reason to say why because you have a very good management and the great thing was , almost all employees were females so that’s fantastic to see so as the trend is changing from male only to completely female waitresses 👌 We will definitely be back there when we visit Green street again 😻 Thank you guys for a wonderful snd enjoyable evening.

Took a party of carers there today. They had a great time. The food was extremely flavoursome. What really surprised me was despite the number of people, the lady taking orders could recall who ordered what and where they were sitting. Good personal attention! Pleasant experience. Would definitely recommend. Also very honest, they called my colleague at 10pm to inform us that they had overcharged us.

Absolutely disgusting place , will never visit again. The staff are standing there like statues, no customers… . They would not allow you to use the toilet if you are with a child even though you‘ve been there with friends earlier as a customer. Absolutely terrible and disgraceful. Avoid!

I normally refrain in writing reviews unfortunately the food was so worst I am compelled to write this review. Restaurant looked pretty clean and inviting from outside so I decided to try the food, I ordered lamb biryani and karahi chicken in punjabi sauce, as it is prepaid system I walked up-to the till to pay and asked the lady at the till to explain what is punjabi sauce, she replied every region has different way of cooking, I said please explain what is punjabi sauce she replied this is pakistani style, hello I have eaten in several pakistani sauce haven't come across punjabi sauce for chicken karahi all I want you to explain me what is punjabi sauce, Sadly explanation is pathetic so is the food quality. Worst biryani I ever eaten and the karahi chicken is blend and laughable. As a foodie I mostly eat out, would I recommend this restaurant to any one of course not. My advise to the restaurant owner please note in this industry you are as good as your last plate.

Always go here with my family. Kids really enjoy the food. We always explore restaurants around London, but this is by far our favourite. Service is excellent. Very friendly, always helpful which is a bonus as I have a baby. Considerate and kind. Clean and well designed. Food is delicious. Biryani is the best around. I've paid more for ones that are awful. Prices are reasonable. Go and enjoy a day out.

I have ordered from this place many times, but this time was a joke. We ordered chicken tikka curry, only to find out that to reduce the chicken pieces they put in the curry they cut onions the same way which look like chicken pieces. This I found really disappointed. Plus the naan was ice cold that had to warm it in my microwave, really surprised why it was ice cold on a summer evening and it was like paper looked like to save floor( atta) they decided to stretch it to the maximum they can and make a paper naan, no thickness. They only provide you with one napkin, which I think is silly why can’t I get a few….

I really wanted to believe it was a one off.. Because there food is always been good. But on my last visit I found a small scarp off the cleaning wire on my koari chicken pot.. I discreetly went and told the worker (who are just hopeless / students) who couldn't give a ***** about your complaints. Ask for manager, she was no better ( I bloody should have got on my table and told everyone) that would probably got the desired affect.. Fully paid and left..got home and told my friend who was there the month before... Shocking news was that, his wife found the same stuff on her food which she took home as they ordered a lot of dishes.. So me and khana.. Game over

So, we sat down, and then realised we had to go to the till to order the food!! It was a hot day and we only wanted tap water, We asked for ice and were told NO!!!! WE CAN ONLY HAVE ICE IF WE ORDER A DRINK. I thought she was joking but no we were not allowed any ice. I was just shocked, it was a very hot day and the ice would have been perfect. We ordered the mixed grill platter, but never again, it was super salty. We normally leave a tip, but to be honest, it wasn't what we expected.

I have been there many times with my wife, food is delicious and service is very friendly. The place is clean and tidy I hope to continue coming here for splendid dinner outs with my wife.

Wanted to open fast with my 12 yr old son. There was only one table of 4 available and I asked him to take a table. As I was ordering the owner/chief receptionist asked him to leave the table as it was for the customers before us. They happened to be both muslims, like us were to open their fast, like us. I asked why he had been removed and explained we wanted to sit down and open our fast too and if they could share the remaining and vacant 2 seats next to them with us. To my surprise the owner point blank refused. Maybe my son and I weren't as important as them (I don't know). You would have though being Muslim the importance of opening a fast with a young child next to our Mulsim brothers and sister you would have asked the customers??? Nah. Money Talks I also asked for a extra pot of chutney, their Biryani is pretty dry so I asked for an extra tub for both of us to share. Wow ... the look we got (it was as if I had just slapped Chris Rock). So as we had travelled and had no where to sit down we ate in the car. Food , yep Biryani was dry and at least it was consistently rubbish and also consistent in amount (4 dry as you like pieces of chicken). In the bin it goes, for Newham Council Bin men in the morning (probably tastes better after being in a skip) Son had a McDonalds on Romford Road and I had a couple of chips. Great quality time with my son. But as far the Khana Khazana - plz change to Khana Ne Khana - Bloody awful get your self some basmati rice, Kenwoods Korma Sauce and you could do better job. Bring Back Mobeens

Today (17 Oct 2019), myself and my wife travelled all the way into Green Street in the afternoon to purchase items from the clothing stores as we were not from the local area and had travelled from far. Towards the end of our trip, we decided to have something for lunch before leaving. Unfortunately, me and my wife entered this restaurant to find that no waiter was available to serve us and assist with our table. We thought to make our way to the washroom before sitting down. I walked towards the washroom, with my wife behind me. Without my knowledge, a waiter stopped my wife and told her that 'this is not a public toilet' and told her to leave despite her trying to explain that she was going to be eating in. They refused to listen to her. She phoned me from outside and told me what happened. I told her to come back in, When she did, the waiter started raising his voice at us in front of everyone. I explained to him that we wanted a table for two but there was noone available to direct us to the table and we went to the washroom as we waited. The waiter again said that if we were to stay, we had to order the food and I told him how could we order food before being seated at a table. He was not understanding and was refusing to hear what we had to say. The way he raised his voice and humiliated us in front of everyone was extremely disrespectful and lacked basic human understanding. It was clear that this waiter was embarrassing us as a way to intimidate us. The fact that this man told my wife to leave the premises and not to use the washroom was absolutely wrong. His disrespect for women was shameful. Later on, I continued to observe their terrible customer service when a family had been waiting at their table for several minutes and noone approached them with even one menu! They then got up and left. Being in the restaurant trade myself and having owned various establishments in the past and at present, I have never come across such rudeness in the public service business. These people are not fit to work in such a place if they are unable to treat their customers with some level of basic respect. Their attitude and disgusting behaviour doesn't even deserve the '1' rating, instead it should be minus. The service of the waiters at this establishment is horrendous. They clearly lack basic experience and knowledge in this field. On top of the ridiculous service, the food here was extremely oily, lacked any sort of taste and was terribly poor in quality. This Khana Khazana Restaurant is a joke of an establishment. Either they need to shut down or they should replace all of their staff. Reading the previous reviews, it is clear that they do not value their customers or reputation as a business. Do not waste your time here.

First visit and it was a disaster, All the Currys was very oily , the only thing you can taste is oil , told one of the staff and he said this is how we cook our Currys ( plenty oil ) and also they had no facilities for baby changing . First and last time never again .

This is one of the worst places I have had the misfortune to visit. I ordered Tikka paneer (check the pictures and you can tell from the colour of paneer that zero effort went into spices and taste). The paneer was basically a brick cut up into 3 plonk pieces with some lame chilli powder sprinkled on top. I had one bite and the naan was under cooked, I had to send the food back and refused a replacement of dish. The management had the cheekto add this to the bill and after some debate and realistic feedback they took this off the bill. I had aloo papdi chaat which was nothing special. The food is bland, undercooked and appears to have chefs that need to be trained in Indian food. Avoid ....the vegetarian food is awful

Pedimos un plato mixto sobre ese pollo que tenía un pelo y uno de los empleados allí estaba discutiendo y no solo pidiendo perdón. . El gerente hizo un 10% de descuento, que es solo 3, lo que no vale la pena. . echado a perder mi día no cené correctamente más el personal grosero. . No iré la próxima vez.

Cené en este lugar en familia y rápidamente se ha convertido en uno de los favoritos. No puedo enfatizar lo suficiente lo impecable que es el servicio, el personal es extremadamente atento y atento. Having visited two years ago and thoroughly enjoying the food, we returned yesterday expecting the same. Sadly, we were left disappointed. The chicken karahi tasted bland, and all we could taste were tomatoes- not restaurant level. The grilled fish for the price left us disappointed, it was just marinated and fried! We have tasted grilled fish in many establishments, which has been nothing like what we were given here. The butter naans were fresh. And I can't fault the service, which was quick.On a side note, the toilet area could do with a clean.

This is first time ever I am giving a bad feedback for a restaurant. I have been this restaurant before there food and customer service was ok, but this time I was shocked seeing their customer service they are serving one customers food to others. We were seating for 15 min but no one come to us then I went to some one then she send another lady to taking our order after waiting about half an hour we got our food but some wrong dish and some dish missing. The Lamb Biriyani and Chicken Biriyani they serve us it was totally Awful test less it was some boiled rice some colour and very small 4 pieces meat /chicken. We don't even touch one lamb Biriyani but paid because stupid lady said we have to pay even though other one was awful test less. Their Sizzler was too dirty like those never been washed. So please see their all reviews before visit.

Service, ambience,food and decor gets 2/10. This restaurant was visited 31-7-15 with family and it was awful. The soup tasted like dishwater (nowhere near authentic), the shush kebabs arrived burnt and the mains order was delayed and starters arrived in 2 visits. The mains curry was too salty and we sent it back for a refund as it was getting late and the lady said we will make another one for you, never accepting she was at fault, no sorry at all.The lady serving failed to understand our drinks order and seemed rushed. Avoid at all costs as there are many places on Green Street to eat.

Visited this place for Lunch with my son and a friend.Our order was Tandoori Chicken h with Nan, Malaai Kofta and Mango Lassi.Service was fast I guess because not manycustomers were present. Disputes against the food quality, well the chops were burnet n the rest of it was nasty full of oil n grease, and the manager tried to convince it's ok, however could NOT eat this poor quality and returned the food, we didn't get refunded for it,instead the manager complain about why were the kids playing with his cheap menu, this manager is such illiterate he looks like one of them ppl from Pakistan who drive a rickshaw couldn't even spk English properly, definitely a place to avoid in g street,

I have been here several times and just had a look at the reviews below and am surprised by how many feel its awful. If you are expecting a fine dining experience, I wouldn't look for it in Green St.! But my experience is that the restaurant is not as dirty as people make out. I've not experienced dirty plates etc and always enjoy the food and find its good value for money. Sometimes it can take time to get served but I've only experienced this when busy and never a delay thats made me think of leaving at all. I like the fact that the restaurant is large and bright. Its very convenient if you're shopping in Green St.

Went it on a Tuesday afternoon, after shopping, we went from B'ham. It was not very busy. Service was slow, served our mains and forgot our staters.The chicken noodles were the best ither then that food was horrible. Both ne and my partner were feeling sick. Would nevee go back again.

Good places to eat in Green Street. A very popular and homely restaurant, slap bang in the middle of the famous Green Street, E7. Good Veggy dishes and snacks....all traditional Indian foods. Good service, freshly made food and well priced. Great Indian Teas to round off a lovely meal. Easily go again!

Hey went to Green street for shopping and went Khana Khazana. The food was amazing!The butter chicken and malai kofta was out of the world. The staff was quite attentive also. Didn't have to wait in queues!!Would definitely recommend!

Four of us went there a very cold afternoon, soon we found that restaurant has no heating on almost same temperature as was outside that was first impression toilets not clean and has no toilet papers and even hand wash what happened to Local councils health and safety department. Now about the food since we have eaten our tummies are not well substandard food. What should I say about food its failed even fist hygiene test... This restaurant must have a visit by local council health and safety department. We will never ever visit this place again.

Worst experience ever in my entire life. Very disgusting and filthy to start with. The toilets had broom and other cleaning equipment in it and to put the icing on the cake the seat was broken. The plates and cutlery was filthy and food was cold and really lacked any taste at all. The baby chair wasn't even installed properly which nearly made my son fall off luckily I was paying attention. Bill came to £38 which already is very extortionate for a grimey kebab house and with their quality honestly I wouldn't pay a penny. I will never visit again. I have written a formal complaint away a managers response which I doubt very much. I will also be writing a report to the newham recorder.

Each time I've been here the service has been awful with waiters ignoring us completely and not being around to serve though I enjoyed the food, however on my last visit the food was awful and the customer service non existent.There were less than 5 customers when I went in, total three tables including me, yet it still took more than 15min for a waiter to take me order. I ordered the chicken manchurin thinking it came with rice but the waiter knowing it didn't, did not tell me so I was served with a small bowl of chicken in a thick sauce ...like a curry..it was so random! He should have told me to order a side like rice with it. The waiter told me he thought maybe I wanted to eat it in a odd way! So I ordered rice but as I was pressed for time I told him could he give it to me as a takeaway and I'd add my chicken to it and just eat it at home...he then took another 20 mins to do this but left the takeaway box behind the counter! When I asked the waitress what the hold up was she emptied it out onto a plate and brought it over even though the kitchen staff were telling her it was for takeaway. The food itself had been covered and I mean overkilled with black pepper to the point where you couldn't taste anything else, clearly the new chef did not have a clue how to make these dishes. It was a complete waste of money, it's like eating in a canteen, horrible atmosphere and awful service. Please save yourself an awful experience and DON'T eat there!

I will never ever go there again. Had to wait more than 20 minutes just for a waiter. Only 2 waiters are working in a friday evening.when I spoke to the manager. She simply replied, you have to wait. What the hell. The way she replied to us, was like careless. No sense of customer service.

Went yeaterday night 3sep2014 bladdy nightmare will never go again!!!bought masala dosa and worst ever I ate other places fine but here was crap. Spoke to a so called manager and she said it was due to chefs changing what a lie and our bill came up to £40 and they wanted us to pay for somthing that we didnt get and didnt care customer service was poor below minus they really dont give a damn about the customers who come to there kitchen from hell. this place should be closed down!!!!

We order some starters and later food, we did not even finish our starter food came and result when we start our food it was cold. The girl who served, vanished after keep everything on the table. Nobody looked after our table after that. We had to ask for water and chutney only then served. We had to wait long for second order as nobody was even looking at us.Overall our experience was disaster though food was not bad

Food is great but the service very slow and definitely staff are not within the place. ..need to acknowledge customers fast with the price we are paying for their food!!

Went to this restaurant a few years ago when it was good.Went again thinking that food and service would be the same during Ramadan.I was wrong!!Served by an Asian girl with a feigned American accent.My wife ordered the Bhattura and chick peas-not bad.My daughter ordered the paneer -awful, greasy and a health hazard!My gripe began with the possible head waitress who was rude when I was looking for a fresh pot of chutney and raita.She walked on by without politely stopping and telling us that we had 1 pot already on the table-what she wasn't told was that this pot was stale.My wife urged me not to make a scene in case the cook would do something to our food during preparation-haha.I was not at all happy with this.Total bill came to around £30 with mixed noodles as well.Waitress called Tania? continued to stare at us on leaving and I went looking for the manager to complain-nowhere to be found!If one wants to survive any culinary experience in Green Street, please avoid this ramshackle of a 'restaurant'!Awful food and THE worst service!Waiters and waitresses do not even look interested or enthusiastic for their customers. Once again, avoid at your peril!!

The food was okay; nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about. What was interesting about this experience was the service. Service included having to wait ages to be served, requesting napkins (3 times), requesting cutlery (twice), calling a waitress over for her to say "What do you want?", when requesting an additional plate being told "finish [your pani puris] and use that one". These are just a few of the things! Asking to speak to the manager, I was told he was not there. I insisted and when he finally came over, he had been there the whole time. The manager, Manu, was the piece de resistance for the whole debacle. He was not interested in our experience at all but did say he was going to fire the waitress! I tried to persuade him not to, especially as he was talking about the wrong waitress! Again, he was not interested. His attitude towards his staff left me feeling no wonder they do not care about customer service when their is no value for staff. The food was not good enough to make me give this restaurant a second go and the service makes me wish I had never been there even once.

Visited the restaurant after shopping in Green Street. The staff were ok, but food , service and hygiene was appalling. The menus were greasy had finger lots of prints on them. The food was salty, the sauce pots unclean. The food is not normal indian food. Not really a quality place for family meal.

We visited as a couple and were not impressed at all despite having lots of staff service is very poor. We ordered two still water and the waiter just gave us two plastic bottles no "glass". Food is very poor quality and we didn't like it much. The hygiene of the restaurant is really questionable. One to avoid!

Khana Khazana has been on Green Street for 2/3 years and have seen a growth in clientele since the nearby excellent Mobeens closed down.Food is average, generally clean but service is very slow.Mobeen is opening again across the road and it will be interesting to see how Khana Khazana does with increased competition.

Went to this restaurant on Sunday 16th March 2014 and found a long hair in a curry. Complaining to the manager, he and the till operator took NO heed and laughed me off extorting money off me. Since have a word with food and hygiene inspectors at Newham Council and they are going to inspect them. The director of the company told me on Monday that he is going to refund my bill, however, the dishonest people have not done so.Am taking legal action in order to protect the public.

The food here is amazing. I now always eat here if I am visiting Green Street. Unfortunately the service is nearly always poor despite the number of staff they have. Most of the time it feels like you are being ignored. However the food is good enough to make me want to go back.

Incredibly disappointed at the quality of the food. it used to be a lot tastier. I'm guessing that the chef changed. will not be visiting again.

We had a meal here on New Years Eve 2013, just prior to setting off for Central London.After a tiring day at Westfield Stratford City, we decided to venture to Green Street for some local cuisine. Green Street is only a 10 minute drive from the shopping centre.We walked past probably half a dozen curry houses and kebab shops (Kebabish etc.), and Khana Khazana’s impressive glass frontage immediately drew us in. We were a party of 12 including 8 children of varying ages between 3 and 17. The children wanted burgers so we had to compromise on a place that served both instant food and the more distinguished dishes.We ordered various dishes including Whole Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Seekh Kebab, Chicken Jalfrezi, Chicken Seekh Kebab, Chicken Fillet Burger, fries, Nan breads etc. We also ordered butter Nan and a jug of sweet Lassi (milk shake), with soft drinks for all the kids. The menu options were huge, with prices of main meals ranging from £5 to £10. The portions were all of decent size.The majority of food went down very well, although my wife wasn’t impressed with the Chicken Seekh kebabs. We are seasoned diners at Tandoori restaurants, so I suppose the bar was always going to be high for Khana Khazana.The place was only just getting ready for evening diners (around 6pm) but by the time we left it was full. The tables were simple and clean, with the surfaces not greasy as I was expecting. The toilets were in relatively clean condition for a desi style restaurant.The bill came to just £90 including drinks, which is amazing value considering the amount of food we ordered. Had a late lunch at khana khazana on friday 15th 2013. My wife and 9 month old son were looked after well enough. We ordered our drinks and starters and mains from their extensive menu. We had cholle bature which were a fluffy fried roti with chickpea curry and meat somosa chat as our starters. It seemed like we ordered mains instead of starters and were already full before the mains even came out. The starters were I must say very nice and filling. For our mains we order king prawn massala with egg fried rice and king prawn chilli fry with egg fried rice and a butter naan. The king prawns in the chilli fry were only 3 pieces but were absolutely huge pieces, we were quite taken aback by the sheer size of the pieces and the dish tasted amazing. The same cannot be said about the king prawn massala which had normal sized king prawns in and was quite salty but you could make out that it would have been a great dish had the salt been controlled a bit. We ended up ordering too much rice and didnt really need the naan. So we ate what we could and the staff were kind enough to pack the rest. The meal in it self was £ 45 and well worth the price for what we had. Will be visiting again

We went to this place last week (wish we never did).The guy in the chaat counter told he was going to close but asked us to place the order and we did so. We waited for few mins and noticed the guy was acting really awkward( kicking carton and throwing stuffs violently). We were shocked .Don't wait for the food and decided NEVER to go back.

We had dinner here last year on the surface it seemed ok but boy was I wrong we had lamb curry it must have been old or contaminated with something I got home and immediately started to get stomach cramps and all night had terrible pain it was'nt until the food went through me the following day that I stared to get better will never go back.

Fab food, great selection and most deffinately value for money. The decor is a little bland and the restaurant is really cold however that can all be over looked as the food is lovely. Been there several times and it never disappoints.
